Diner Reviews
  • "Great food and amazing value from Top Table. 3 courses for 19.50. Very good food and service and together with the deal - just an amazing deal! Highy recommended!"
    dined on 16/04/2014
  • "We visited on a Wednesday and the restaurant was nearly full. I'd certainly recommend booking a table. The menu was reasonably priced with a good selection of options so should cater for most tastes. The set menu was also well balanced in terms of choices. Service was efficient with the food very pleasant. I nice place to visit in the City."
    dined on 09/04/2014
  • "Couldn't fault the food, opted for the steak which was delicious. Staff very attentive without being all over us and I guess the only point to note was the price. After opting for a set menu of 3 courses for £19.50, we expected the bill to be quite reasonable, but after wine, coffee and surcharge for the steak, it was quite pricey in the end, but worth it all the same. All in all a great pre-show choice."
    dined on 11/04/2014
  • "Slightly variable service (had to ask for bread about 4 times). Food was good although not massively exciting."
    dined on 19/02/2014
  • "Super location, smart historic venue, good food, average service, bit pricy."
    dined on 10/04/2014
  • "Booked the toptable set menu. although limited selection the food was good. Suggest if you book the top table menu check out the menu before you go as it is somewhat limited and recommend the spotted dick dessert! Service was efficient and attentive. Really good value"

  • "A great venue for a business lunch. You can talk easily as it is not too loud. Great food, great service and it is a wonderful building."
    dined on 08/04/2014
  • "Booked the Top Table special for £20 for three courses for our friend's birthday. The staff were very friendly and charming while the service was attentive without being intrusive. Despite being significantly cheaper than their a la carte dishes the food was cooked perfectly and the portion sizes were good and there was no attempt to rush us so the experience lasted all night. The wine list offered an excellent selection that we availed ourselves of and the atmosphere and ambiance of the place were fantastic in a beautifully architected space. Would recommend this to any-one wanting a special yet reasonably priced treat."
    dined on 07/04/2014
  • "Great atmosphere, very clean, spacious in the heart of central London. Top table deal limited menu with hidden extras. Enjoyed evening but more expensive than anticipated. Food quite good, portions small."
    dined on 04/04/2014
  • "We were a group of 6 and enjoyed the 3-course set menu which was delicious. There was a mis-understanding on our order for tap water when bottled water was served instead but the waiter very kindly offered to speak to the manager to reimburse this for us. Would definitely dine there again."
    dined on 03/04/2014
  • "Could find no fault. Evening special at twenty pounds for three courses is a steal for the quality provided. Will be back"
    dined on 03/04/2014
  • "I've been here several times for the £20 set menu and I've been thoroughly impressed each time. Along with the three course menu you also get a complimentary appetiser of a delicious soup, and lovely homemade bread too (the rosemary was delicious). The portions are a great size - not too big and not too small, and the set menu offers three choices, all of which I'd have been happy to have. I had salmon mousse with avocado to start followed by deliciously soft chicken with mushrooms and spinach, then a clementine fool with biscotti. The waiters are friendly and attentive without being pushy or over the top - overall I'd thoroughly recommend, great for a week night dinner or to splash out and fine from the non set menu!"

  • "Can't believe that this place use to have 1 Michelin Star. Ok, yes, use to."
    dined on 01/04/2014
  • "We booked the toptable deal (3 courses for £19.50) which was very good value. The service was fairly slow, which actually suited us but could be an issue if you're in a rush. Overall though a very enjoyable meal."
    dined on 27/03/2014
  • "Went to the Brasserie on a Friday night for a date. Seemed to be more drinkers than diners, so service was very quick...maybe even too quick, as the starters arrived with our aperitive. A little noisy due to the accoustics, but this added to the relaxed atmosphere and it was still very easy to talk. Food was excellent, as were the wine and martinis."
    dined on 28/03/2014
  • "I have been to 1Lombard st many times. Raved about it to friends. Friday was awful. We were rushed in and out of our booking. The food was of a lesser quality than precious visits and the music was so loud we could nearly talk. I was so disappointed its unlikely I will go back."
    dined on 28/03/2014
  • "really enjoyed the experience - great buzz, good eating. the menu for £19.50 was ok, but none of us could resist upgrading to steak/monkfish for another £9 (worth every penny)."
    dined on 27/03/2014
  • "We opted for the top table offer of 3 courses for £19.50 a head. Very good quality food and decent portion sizes. It's a very loud buzzy restaurant which was great for us but it's worth considering if you are looking for a quiet meal."
    dined on 25/03/2014
  • "We went for the topstables "3 Courses choice menu £19.50 plus a complimentary appetiser." When the bill arrived we were surprised that we had been charged separately for the 2 mains. Even though we were given the toptable special offer menu - we were not informed that some of mains were not included in the special offer. If we had been informed we would have still gone with the same choices but we would have also had the two mains which were part of the special offer. We feel sort of cheated that this was not explained to us and the fact that we missed out on 2 mains. Other than that we enjoyed the restaurant and the food."
    dined on 21/03/2014
  • "We went for the set menu and opted for the steak which was an additional £9 on top of the fixed price but it was worth it as it was very tasty. The dessert, however, was too acidic and bitter, and service was a bit slow, with the appetiser being served 45 minutes after we arrived."
    dined on 21/03/2014
  • "The crab starter had bits of shell left in. They had to be reminded about vegetable side dishes after the main courses had arrived, then they brought the wrong dishes, despite the dishes being the ones that the waiter suggested. The fish had not been boned properly. The duck was not pink as suggested, it was bloody and tough. Overall disappointing as we had previously enjoyed the dining."
    dined on 12/03/2014
  • "The Lombard st Brasserie was buzzing on the lunch time visit. Service was good, and we enjoyed fish and chips and calves liver. Both very nice indeed."
    dined on 12/03/2014
  • "Went for a business breakfast recently. We probably had unusual choices (fresh fruit, French toast, porridge) and they were ok, but not fantastic. Most of the other tables were having English breakfast or at least eggs Benedict etc, and they looked go, so perhaps we jsut had their more average dishes. Food was good, but not better than what I would make at home. Service was verya ttentive and quick, ambience good, would go again (and proabbly try some of the other choices)."
    dined on 12/03/2014
  • "It is average but pricey, food reliable if unspectacular, £19 for fish and chips."
    dined on 12/03/2014
  • "Perfect location in the City and a lovely space - recommend for a quick post work dinner or business lunch."
    dined on 10/03/2014
  • "I went for dinner with a friend and enjoyed the £19:50 menu, making the food even more enjoyable. We really liked this restaurant and was particularly impressed with the service which was friendly and attentive without being over the top. Would definitely go again."
    dined on 06/03/2014
  • "The ambience is quite good that me and my friend have enjoyed a good casual time there. I quite like the painting they hang on the wall and the lighting decoration. However, if you are looking for nice food, this is probably not the place."
    dined on 28/02/2014
  • "1 Lombard St Brasserie remains one of my favourite places to eat in the City. Good food and great surroundings! Really enjoyable evening. Should have live jazz to make it a perfect experience."
    dined on 22/10/2013
  • "Met a college for lunch at 1 Lombard St. Brasserie. The food was pricey and not too impressive. My request not to add bacon was forgotten and there was too much salt. My colleague's risotto was good and portion about three times as bug as my chicken dish. We found this disproportion strange as both were main courses. The venue is beautiful and the atmosphere was buzzing."
    dined on 28/02/2014
  • "Had a very enjoyable recent lunch .The food was very good, the wine list exceptional and the atmosphere is fantastic. The surroundings are great and the staff knowledgeable and attentive. Excellent for business meetings or just catching up with friends."
    dined on 11/12/2013
  • "Been many times before but this was the cheapest offer I have used from TT, 3 courses and an appetizer for £19.99. The set-menu was small and the choice not very varied I thought - I think 3 choices per each course. I found the staff a little eager to serve i.e offering bread/drinks before jacket had been removed or whilst my guest (table of 2) in the toilet. I found the Head Waiter/Maitre'd/Manager a little too brash after mis-hearing him and correcting him in error; for him to bark back in an unprofessional tone. However, its a lovely venue, food was tasty (although not very hot main) if not on the small side but I would go back again as generally very good in all aspects."
    dined on 20/02/2014
  • "Dinner for 2 early evening @ 1 Lombard St. First impression, busy, noisy, lovely building and interior. Seating generous and tabling good with good views across the bar. Central bar location Staffing attentive although needed to attract their attention for a couple of items. Wrong day menu issued to us, small issue Food excellent, Summary, noisy for detailed conversations, fine for a couple and good for party"
    dined on 06/02/2014
  • "Lovely food but sadly the service let it down. Parts of our order were forgotten and we had to ask for them again. The venue itself is very nice with a good ambience."
    dined on 26/02/2014
  • "Perfect location for a business lunch. Staff seemed a little confused, but at the lunchtime rush this is understandable. Food was good, though portions fairly small."
    dined on 21/02/2014
  • "I have visited 1 Lombard Street before and decided to make a return visit based on the standard of my previous experience. The food was again good and the value of the set meal satisfactory. I went to have dinner with a friend and it isn't too stuffy a place not to feel comfortable and relaxed. Overall a good experience again, one of those places you can trust on to supply good food and pleasant surroundings. Only negative I would make is that the service was not quite up to standard. We were waiting on several occasions for a waiter to take our order and it was not very attentive. Could do better on this aspect."
    dined on 20/02/2014
  • "Booked a toptable offer for myself and a friend. We added at very last minute another companion who was stranded due to train problems - the update was so easy to do and totally seamless. Greeted and shown to our table we were really pleased to be sat in the far right hand corner from the door given that the tables closer to the exit had clearly been lined up for a large party arriving shortly after ours. The food was really good, everything we had was delicious - my particular favourite was the chicken supreme which melted in the mouth. The 500ml carafes of wine available provided a far more civilised way to move from white for starter, red for main and sweet for pudding. I would say 1LS lacks some ambience but I would love to return."
    dined on 05/02/2014
  • "I had breakfast here with a client - we got cold toast, had to ask for butter. All in all, very expensive for a very basic breakfast. I have eaten here for lunch and thought it was good. Probably best keep to business and not for social events."
    dined on 18/02/2014
  • "small menu, but enough to find something for every style. Quality and freshness is excellent and the service incredible."
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "I had a pre-work breakfast here as a birthday treat and it was fantastic! The service, the food and the atmosphere is excellent."
    dined on 11/02/2014
  • "Booked this restaurant for my boss who isn't afraid to feedback criticism and all I got was high praise! Will definitely book again."
