Diner Reviews
  • "Food was good quality, ambience and service both excellent - but the discount was not applied. Was in a meeting and did not want to quibble about the bill - but won't be booking there again as for the price, without the offer, you don't get much for your money!"

  • "Staff were very friendly & accommodating. Ambience was lovely. But food was nothing special. Everything was over seasoned! Sausages on child's menu was dry & overcooked. Served super hot sweet chill in sauce with spring rolls on children's menu. Only went because of TT 50% discount on food. Would've been very unhappy if we had to pay full price on food."

  • "Lovely food, and great value with the 2 course set lunch toptable offer. "

  • "Nothing special. Steak was okay. Fine to take business colleagues late in the evening."
    dined on 24/04/2014
  • "Good value set lunch. The bream was excellent. There is not a lot of background noise and so it is easy to talk without the usual need of straining to hear. Nice and light and good spacing between tables."

  • "No wonder the restaurant was so empty on Easter Monday as their food was very salty. The stone bass and duck leg we had were badly cooked, highly recommeded the chef to taste the food before serving."

  • "Good food well presented. Quire a business location but I did eat late on a Monday evening."

  • "Modern restaurant attached to Apex Hotel, in middle of the Square Mile. Short a la carte menu. Food well cooked and presented. Good value with Toptable 50% offer"
    dined on 25/02/2014
  • "The set menu was very limited choice but the 50% off a la carte was excellent value and the portions were full size not the usual 70% size when you choose a deal. Food was well displayed, tasty and in large portions. So much so we could only manage 1 dessert between 3. The staff were helpful, shame the restaurant suffers from extreme drafts from the street doors opening at each end (same problem as last time we visited). Not very atmospheric but that's always difficult in this type of hotel offshoot restaurant, however a good layout with tables well spaced. Overall though a really good eating experience. We may try this venue again in the summer as there is outside seating too."

  • "The staff were very nice and were helpfully as well through the whole afternoon. I would be happy to visit this place again with my partner."

  • "I booked up this restaurant for valentines and had the 5 course tasting menu. There wasn't anything spectacular about the meal and the last course was just a baked apple in pastry. Considering it was the last course I would say by far it was the worst. Presentation was ok but the sizing a of the courses were strange with starter and pre starter being bigger then the main and the desert being bigger then anything else. The fish course was over cooked and chewy and the vegetarian option I had was very disappointing as it basically identical to the duck course without the duck. I wouldn't return to this restaurant as I felt what we paid was overpriced to what we had."
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "The food was ok for the half price deal but definitely not worth the full price. The service was awful we had to ask repeatedly for the menu (we had to go and get the waiter to come over to take order), water was not replenished so again had to repeatedly ask. Meanwhile the staff were standing around chatting, especially one who was showing guests to the table who kept messing around and signing through to another staff member from the hotel reception over our heads. We had to wait a ridiculous time for just two courses - by the time pudding arrived the ice cream had completely melted into a sauce, they did offer to replace but we didn't have the time, would not return, even for a deal."

  • "Simply uncluttered environment and menu. Polite service tasty food"

  • "Ambience was slightly lacking but the food and service were excellent. The top table deal made this terrific value and I would certainly visit again."
    dined on 19/12/2013
  • "Considering it was not very crowded, only 2 tables the food was very poor. They dont have olive oil as I prefer this to butter. The scallop starter was cold and the steak was not that good. Service was ok."
    dined on 07/12/2013
  • "Food was good as was the service. Quite, roomy & warm restaurant, which was great for a business chat over lunch."

  • "Had a quick business lunch here. Was really nice and service was good."
    dined on 26/11/2013
  • "Its rare you find a good food deal in the City on a Friday lunch and with some very nice options. Surprisingly the place was quite quiet and the service was a little slow so probably worth deciding order quickly if on tight lunchtime schedule."
    dined on 22/11/2013
  • "If you want a quick business lunch then this is your place. A little cold in amkbience."
    dined on 06/11/2013
  • "Addendum was good, quick and reasonably priced for a business lunch. Not great for anything else during the day."
    dined on 05/11/2013
  • "We needed to eat somewhere close to the Tower of London and the Addendum came up trumps. We were a party of 4 including a vegetarian. We chose the 3 course set meal and found both food and service to be very good. The staff were friendly and although the restaurant was very quiet the atmosphere was good. We would go to the Addendum again."
    dined on 15/10/2013
  • "OK - feels like a bit of an add on to the hotel and the service was very slow."
    dined on 15/10/2013
  • "While the serving staff were attentive and friendly, but disappeared entirely once coffees were served, the food was brought to the table already cold. The kitchen has no understanding of the difference between cooking a steak (most expensive item on the menu) medium rare or well done. Both orders were served well done - and cold."
    dined on 19/09/2013
  • "Great food, attentive service and good value. Perfect location for an informal business lunch. Great menu with seasonal favourites and often a little twist on basic dishes, which keeps it fresh and interesting."
    dined on 23/07/2013
  • "Booked a table outside hoping to enjoy a sunny London lunchtime, but Addendum is in the middle of a building site, so it is noisy, dusty and has trucks arriving every few minutes. Service was slow and not attentive. For business lunches service needs to be much slicker that this. Food was nicely presented but didn't taste particularly great. Toptable 50% off food meant that two courses were only £12.50 but still I would not go back."
    dined on 16/07/2013
  • "We used Top table's 50 percent discount offer on our recent trip to London. We were surprised to be offered a fabulous table in the window. The restaurant was bright and airy, even on a very hot summer evening. All of the staff were very attentive, ensuring our experience was pleasurable. We chose a starter, a main and a side each but could not manage a dessert. The food quality, temperature and presentation were all superb. All of this, plus a bottle of decent wine, and 12.5% service totalled just over £50. We will return!!"

  • "Poor food, burgers were raw, asked for two more glasses for our champagne, got two bottles. The lover resembled a leather boot. Avoid"
    dined on 24/06/2013
  • "Stayed at the Apex hotel on business, and dined in the restaurant. Food was excellent, although we found the portions a little on the small side, and service attentive. Outstanding value with the toptable 40% off deal."
    dined on 10/06/2013
  • "We was two and after visit at TOWER its easy to find. Nice food and service, and same with price!"
    dined on 10/06/2013
  • "We booked a table in Addendum as we were staying in the Apex City of London and arriving fairly late. It was an offer of £16.95 for 2 course including a glass of wine which seemed like very good value. However, the choice was very poor - 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 puddings. The service was good and friendly, and wine nice, but the choice of menu was disappointing - salmon, sausage and mash, and a veggie dish as mains. Being a Northern Lass, I expect to get my veggies included, but they were charging £4 for extras. Service charge was added at 12.5% too. I felt the choice was poor and portions small. There were quite a few restaurants nearby, so I'd choose these next time."
    dined on 31/05/2013
  • "I booked a business lunch using the 40% discount available through Toptable. The smoked filleted trout for starters was amazing.as was the seared sea bream. The staff were OK but dissappeared when it was time to pay the bill."
    dined on 29/05/2013
  • "The food was very late and when it eventually arrived it was cold. We asked if there were any problems while we were waiting, but staff said the delay was due to the amount of customers and that they were short staffed. However quite a few customers who ordered later than us had their food coming out before ours and within reasonable time. We were then overcharged on the service charge (I had a 50% of voucher, but I was still charged service in relation to 100% of the bill), service charged was well over 20% of the bill. After the problems with the meal we were not happy in the slightest."
    dined on 15/05/2013
  • "Pleasant environment and easy to talk. However there was a mix up with the starters and some on the dishes that were ordered were unavailabe"
    dined on 19/04/2013
  • "We went to Addendum on Wednesday evening. The restaurant was almost empty and overlooks a building site so there was not much ambience. We ate off the set menu which was good. The food was well cooked, interesting and excellent value. But we go out regularly in London and won't be coming back here."
    dined on 03/04/2013
  • "We booked for a lunch here and my companion and I enjoyed the food, ambience and good service! It is rather quiet, which is a shame, as they deserve to have ore customers. The food was well presented and very flavoursome, and the unobstrusive nature of the service added to our enjoyment of the total expereince. I would certainly go again."
    dined on 18/02/2013
  • "The restaurant is very much what one may expect from a central London hotel, clean, smart, stylishly decorated. The menu was relatively small but this is by no means a bad sign. The food was very good (although my steak, despite being cooked to a perfect medium rare, was salted a little too heavily) and the wine menu presented a reasonable choice of very drinkable reds and whites. The only real drawback is that, while the advertising for the restaurant makes a big deal of its full height panoramic windows... and its proximity to the river and tower of London... it doesn't mention that the restaurant itself in on a small backstreet and, at the time of our visit, gave a stunning view of a building site over the road."
    dined on 16/02/2013
  • "with the 30% off food offer the meal was good value. The service is slow which makes the timing of a working lunch difficult."
    dined on 12/02/2013
  • "Breakfast buffet was good, but understandably overpriced for a central london hotel. Only go if your company is paying for it! Food was good, but selection could have been wider."
    dined on 11/02/2013
  • "We were the only patrons so the waitress literally gave us her undivided attention. Always a smile and infectious enthusiasm."
    dined on 05/01/2013
  • "For a hotel restaurant I was pleasantly surprised. The standard of the food and the choice was very good. Beautifully presented and good service. Ambience lacking a bit but it was midweek."
