We had a great lunch to celebrate my birthday, there we five of us and some had the set menu which is excellent value and some the a la carte. I can't fault anything, the staff are friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is relaxed. We shall return!

The restaurant was perfect for an afternoon catch up over lunch and they accommodated for the fact my friend had her baby with her. The food was nicely presented and tasty and the staff were attentive and hospitable. We had the set lunch menu which was fairly good value for money but other parts of the menu seemed a little pricey. I wouldn't go out of my way to go to the restaurant again, but if I'm in the area then I would definitely stop by.

Bermondsey Street has a lot of bars and restaurants and a lot of good ones too. What I like about Antico is that there is room to sit comfortably and with your own space, the food is very good and it is not as hectic as other bars, cafes and restaurants in the area. Good wine list and top Italian food.

Mid-week dinner with an old (Italian) friend. Menu is creative and imaginative without trying to reinvent the wheel, with plenty of Classic Italian features for the traditionalists. We shared an impressive antipasti board (we had to order more bread but that wasn't a trial given the quality of the focaccia), and both chose pumpkin ravioli in marjoram butter. The pasta was perfect, the flavours were robust and well-considered. The service was efficient and charming. My only complaint - and it is now sadly common in "restaurants" - is that the music was too loud for normal conversation.

Decided to treat myself and my husband to lunch at Antico and took advantage of the 25% discount by eating between 1200-1500. We shared the lobster salad starter which was delicious. Hubby had the calves liver which he said was amazing, I had duck ravioli which was nice, but a bit bland if I'm honest, we then shared the lemon tarte with vanilla ice cream for desert which we both agreed was the best lemon tarte we've ever had, really tart and lemony which paired really well with the vanilla ice cream. We would go back.

My wife and I went for dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was a fantastic evening beginning with a cocktail in the downstairs bar. Once seated the staff delivered two glasses of prosecco as requested by me when I booked which was a lovely touch. We had 7 courses of incredible food between us. She is vegetarian but wasn't left disappointed by the range in offer. Amazing service and great value for money. The atmosphere was buzzing but still allowed for some intimacy so it struck the right balance. Will definitely return.

Wanted somewhere to go for lunch bear work. The value for money is excellent. If you have a half dice portion of pasta as a main and a starter it is more than enough food and will cost no more than £15. The good itself is so tasty and very good quality. Portion sizes are generous. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back.

We had a great lunch, my dining companions had starters, an octopus salad & lobster salad, both excellent but my favourite was the octopus. For mains two of us had the rose veal chop and the other the calves liver again really good. The deserts were the icing on the cake! Almond & black cherry tart & one tiramisu, yummy! I've already booked again for my birthday lunch which says it all really!

Brilliant meal for our 35th wedding anniversary. We were served and looked after by a young Polish lady called Yvonne (sorry about the spelling) who was excellent. The food was of a good quality and the ambience superb. Overall an excellent night and if we are in that part of the world again we will definitely dine at Antico again. If you arrive early you can have a drink at the restaurant bar or visit the cocktail bar below the restaurant, excellent atmosphere and lovely cocktails.

We ate here last Saturday lunchtime. We share a small pasta dish - pork pappardelle - which was as delicious as previous reviewers as said, as was the lamp rump and monkfish. Service was very good and we had a bottle of reasonably priced Sicilian wine. 25% offer was applied to everything including drinks - which we thought was really good value. Restaurant was busy and had a good vibe. We would definitely go back.

Service was friendly and efficient. Looking forward to going back. The open kitchen looked spotless and was a nice feature. The restaurant interior in reality looks much nicer than it does online.

And the service was just about perfect. Friendly and attentive without being over-bearing. Not a bad place for a date if you plan on venturing out along Bermondsey Street for the evening.

Venue really good & food delicious. Only down side is their ridiculous booking system where you either have 6.30pm or after 8.30. We wanted to book for 6 people at 8.00 & were told that they could do 8.30 but that we have to understand anyone booking before 8.00 is allowed 2 hours. So when I asked if our table would be free at 8.30 I was told 'hopefully'. We've been there a couple of times and the staff are exceptional so is the food, and very generous portions, so we'd go again. But it is always stressful if we take guests as we never know what time we'll be able to eat!

makes a restaurant for me, except I need really good service and an interesting wine list too (fussy me? yes!). So this place hits the nail on the head for all three. The food was varied and my calves liver was divine! My friend had steak and really enjoyed it too. We are both foodies who are pretty serious (fussy) about our wine, we were extremely impressed with the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. Price, well we got 25% off for Sunday lunch and that was on everything, so a huge bonus in our eyes. Bravo!

We had an early table on Sunday at 6.30. The restaurant was already quite busy with diners. I had a pear, gorgonzola and pine nut salad which was delicious while my husband had a squid and chilli salad which was also delicious. We followed that with calves liver. this was essentially liver and bacon and mash but it was so beautifully prepared and presented that it was way above the basic genre. I have eaten here many times and generally found the food to be very good. Slightly brisk service but still good all the same. Will be coming back.

Fantastic find! Really loved this Italian restaurant. Small and busy with very friendly staff poviding excellent level of service...and the food was faultless! The monkfish risotto was delicious! Definitely looking forward to going back. The downstairs gin and cocktail bar was an added bonus. Both places small so book early to avoid disappointment. There is a bit of competition in Bermondsey Street by way of restaurants...but suspect Antico takes some beating. Enjoy!

My husband & I visited for lunch on our wedding anniversary on 20th September. There was a street festival outside, so the restaurant was very buzzing. I had endive, gorgonzola, pear & pine nut salad, which was nice, but I would have preferred less endive & more of the other ingredients. My risotto was unusual, colourful & very good. We would definitely visit again & would recommend it to family & friends. Unfortunately, we were too early to try the gin bar, which looked lovely! More vegetarian options would be good, but the restaurant was a great find.

We had an excellent meal last Friday evening. The three of us all enjoyed our dishes - salad and pasta starters, and meat main courses - which were perfectly cooked and presented. The wine was good, and the service was fine. I would have preferred slightly more choice on the menu. My only complaint is the noise levels. We had gone with an old friend who we hadn't seen for quite a while, and we wanted to chat. But the ambient noise was such that this was really quite difficult. Obviously the restaurant was full on a Friday evening, but the hard surfaces make it very noisy, and everybody has to shout. My husband was actually hoarse afterwards, which is ridiculous after such an expensive dinner.
