Having previously enjoyed the atmosphere and food at Antico for dinner we came here for lunch on a Saturday and were equally impressed. The vegetarian options are lovely though having more than one option for the main course would be nice. Sorbet and the hazelnut chocolate cake (with popping candy) were excellent and the set menu was great value!

Fantastic find! Really loved this Italian restaurant. Small and busy with very friendly staff poviding excellent level of service...and the food was faultless! The monkfish risotto was delicious! Definitely looking forward to going back. The downstairs gin and cocktail bar was an added bonus. Both places small so book early to avoid disappointment. There is a bit of competition in Bermondsey Street by way of restaurants...but suspect Antico takes some beating. Enjoy!

My husband & I visited for lunch on our wedding anniversary on 20th September. There was a street festival outside, so the restaurant was very buzzing. I had endive, gorgonzola, pear & pine nut salad, which was nice, but I would have preferred less endive & more of the other ingredients. My risotto was unusual, colourful & very good. We would definitely visit again & would recommend it to family & friends. Unfortunately, we were too early to try the gin bar, which looked lovely! More vegetarian options would be good, but the restaurant was a great find.

We had an excellent meal last Friday evening. The three of us all enjoyed our dishes - salad and pasta starters, and meat main courses - which were perfectly cooked and presented. The wine was good, and the service was fine. I would have preferred slightly more choice on the menu. My only complaint is the noise levels. We had gone with an old friend who we hadn't seen for quite a while, and we wanted to chat. But the ambient noise was such that this was really quite difficult. Obviously the restaurant was full on a Friday evening, but the hard surfaces make it very noisy, and everybody has to shout. My husband was actually hoarse afterwards, which is ridiculous after such an expensive dinner.

Took my husband for surprise birthday meal after work. Great to have a special G&T beforehand in the bar downstairs. Staff upstairs and downstairs were all extremely friendly and went out of their way to help. Mixed antipasti starter was yum - particularly really enjoyed the duck rillette and bread (focaccia?). We had lamb rump and monkfish wrapped in pancetta. Both delicious! Had similar monkfish main elsewhere a couple of weeks before and this was much much better! Mashed potato was divine. Staff were very accommodating for my special dietary requirements (pregnant). Didn't have pudding as we were quite full and had birthday cake waiting at home. Would wholeheartedly recommend.

A friend & I were looking for an Italian place, & Antico was recommended by a friend who lived nearby. We arrived 10 minutes ahead of a 6:30 pm booking & were presented to our delight with the early menu: 3 courses/£19. The choices were lovely, &we both enjoyed starters (bruschetta, octopus). Mains were nicely portioned & delicious--duck breast with roasted beets & spinach for me, cod for my guest. The wine list had many good choices that were so reasonably priced I was astounded--is this not Bermondsey? We chose a primitivo for £23 that had just enough spice to delight our palates. I finished with a chocolate and hazelnut slice that was far bigger than necessary, & my guest let me taste her tangy lemon tart. Short walk from London Bridge!

This was our first visit. Three of us went at 18.30 on a Saturday to benefit from the fixed price menu which was excellent value. We were given a nice round table by the window. The place was soon full with a good atmosphere. The portions were generous, the food was of a very high quality and it was a very imaginative menu. Octopus was fantastic, perfectly cooked cod and duck breast. And, oh yes, great cocktails and a good wine list! From the friendly receptionist on arrival, to the time we dragged ourselves away, service was exemplary. Highly professional and friendly at the same time.

We loved this restaurant, often in London on a Friday we decided to visit Bermondsey and looked on Top table for reviews to help us with our choice of eatery. We will definitely come back to Antico and classed it as one of the best Italian restaurants we have ever eaten in. Although a little quiet when we visited the staff were attentive without being over attentive and friendly/helpful. The menu had lovely choices without too many pasta dishes as in some Italian restaurants. All the food we ordered tasted wonderful and with a carafe of wine the meal cost £55 with the 25 percent deducted. we can't wait to return and have already recommended to family and friends.

When booking Antico I hadn't remembered having eaten there on a previous occasion. However, on arrival at the restaurant I recalled how much I'd enjoyed the first visit! This time it was for lunch and not dinner. The service was again extremely efficient and very friendly making it an enjoyable experience. The food was of a high standard and very well presented. I can recommend the lobster salad for a starter. Or, when I return I may well ask for it as a main! Although there was a 25% discount offer I would not hesitate to pay full price. I would highly recommend Antico

Fantastic food and wonderful service. I've eaten here twice in the last 3 weeks, it's so excellent. On this latest visit I ate buttery soft monkfish risotto, melt in the mouth burrata with zingy fresh peaches and toasted almonds, and some delicious salted caramel gelato. The only tiny quibble I have is that service is so efficient - we ate a three course meal and drank a bottle of wine in less than an hour - that it can feel like you are being rushed. I think it's because they're so popular they have two if not three evening sittings. Still, I'm not complaining as the service is so friendly that even as they're whipping away dishes out from under your nose it's all done with good grace.

And you could eat the mashed potato all on it's own - scrumptious! Not my first visit, and again a fab lunch, and great value. It's a great find on Bermondsey Street, where prices and standards can be varied, but Antico can be relied on for a great meal at sensible prices. Staff are very friendly - and the fact there is a gin bar downstairs is a huge positive.

I was celebrating an anniversary with my boyfriend and we booked a table at Antico. We had the Antipasti starter which was very good. The duck confit on there was delicious. I had the pork ragu and he had the monkfish. Both were good, but the monkfish was definitely the better of the two. We had lemon tart and a chocolate and hazelnut cake. Both were delicious. I noticed that there were all sorts of people in there as well. Lots of couples, as well as friends probably just meeting after work, and families. We enjoyed our meal very much and we thought it was pretty good value. It's a nice area too...fairly quiet but nice restaurants and pubs along the road. I definitely would recommend it.

While trying to find a venue for my birthday, I decided to go with Antico due to the good reviews and the bar downstairs. I can honestly say, this is not one to disappoint! We came slightly earlier to sit in the bar downstairs. The bar 214 Bermondsey is not big;however, very comfortable and cosy. The bar staff are very nice! After, we went upstairs for our meal. Great pasta and also lovely dessert! They even wrote happy birthday on my dessert plate. Very lovely staff also! I've had a fair few Italians (with it being one of my favourite cuisines), this is definitely a lovely place to go!

Antico welcomed our party of eight for a colleague's leaving lunch. Everyone enjoyed themselves. The food was delicious, good service, great value and lovely resaurant. I am not a vegetarian but chose those options because they sounded good on the menu - and they were. There were smaller parties and pairs of diners too, so it was a nice mixed and relaxed crowd.
