Been eating here and in the NYC branch for years same dishes worse in than before. Calimari salad over done with not enough dressing, the previously top draw Tuna, lacking flavour and wasabi mash / sauce too dry and bland. Lovley staff ( not in the light bar !) but food a shadow of previously and on the slide

I went with my partner to Asia De Cuba for a romantic meal and it was just that! Niether of us had previously been here and we were very impressed by the ambience as well as the staff. The staff were very attentive and accomodating to us with added to the element of romance wanted for the evening. We opted not to go for the tasting menu as there were a few things on there not to our taste. We each had a starter and a main. Neither one of us could finish our main as the portion size was a lot larger than anticipated. This was a shame as we didn't get to try any of the deserts as we were so full! Sharing cocktails are a must!

We had the pre-theatre dinner on a saturday night.the place wasn't busy when we arrived but more and more guests arrived.the service was still friendly and the food arrived soon.the squid salad was very nice, lightly fried squid and a citrus dressing were a great combination.we also loved the tuna with wasabi mash as second course.the portions were small, which was fine with for our (girls)group and considering it was only 6 o'clock.only downside:cocktails consisted mainly of ice.they should send the bartender to cuba,so he could learn how to do a mojito properly!would still go back any time!

We were early for our table to so went to the bar - we purchased two cocktails for £30 - whilst these are the usual Central London prices I would expect the cocktails were below average and the lacked the usual "theatre" that cocktail bars in this area with these prices would provide - therefore I'd advise avoiding the bar and grab a cocktail near by as there are much better places plus the bar decor was pretty tired. The food was really good though and at £27 for three courses it was amazing value - I'd recommend. Service however was lacking whilst the front of house staff were very friendly our waiter was pretty miserable and not very attentive therefore the 15% service charge was quite an insult. So yes good but not great.

Did not realise was part if a really funky hotel, great space and so central. Food was really tasty and beautifully presented. Had a problem with the beef and the waitress just whisked it away with no fuss and offered an alternative, tuna which was amazing. But steep the 15% service charge, so added our own, but naughty to have an additional part of the bill to add another tip on top of the already added tip, not good for diners who are unaware. Will come again, had the pre-theatre menu, great value. Our Swedish waitress was excellent and very helpful and friendly. Toilets were good, once you had found where they were!! Hidden behind wooden panelling!

The pre theatre menu was a little more than some of the others id seen but given it was not n st martins lane hotel, that was fine. I left hungry. We essentially paid £85 for four small tapas plates ( I dont know how they served the 'mains' without laughing), 2 glasses of wine and 2 beers. I felt ripped off paying the bill but luckily had tme to pop to pret before the theatre.

The restaurant was surprisingly large, nice ambience as it filled, and good tasty pre theatre-menu. Drinks were expensive though and I was not impressed by the fact that they added a "discretionary" 15% service charge to the bill and then still asked whether I wanted to pay a gratuity on top of that. Interesting experience but I probably won't be coming back, because of their attitude to the service charge/gratuity add ons. I felt they were being deliberately opaque and misleading.

They are at different ends of the world so why bring the cuisines together? Having said that my choices from the pre theatre menu were generous and tasty ( calamari salad which was definitely Asian but for the inclusion of some chopped banana- not quite as weird as it sounds ) beef then large brownie. The decor is self consciously whacky and trendy and not conducive to great ambiance in my book. It was early and therefore quiet but had it been full the tables were very close together - too close together. We had to ask twice for the card machine to pay and gave up in the end and paid cash. Most disappointing was a thumping 15% service charge for what was average, if that , service. Two set menus. One bottle wine. Tap water £106. Steep.

Next door to the Coliseum its a good spot for post ENO dining. Asia de Cuba is rather secretive with no signage either for the restaurant or hotel, a doorman in disguise, and a house number in an obscure place, presumably to keep undesirables out. At 10:30 PM one doesn't like a long wait for service. A prolonged wait after being seated was accompanied by an apology from our server and everything went as it should once he made an appearance. Our Thai snapper for two, an imaginative and tasty dish was surprisingly tough and gamey considering it was poached. The restaurant appears to attract "regulars" and "folks in the know", but for its convenient location, it would not attract me again, nor would M. Bibb be impressed in my opinion.

I was meeting a friend for an early supper and decided to use the £22pp pre theatre special on OpenTable. The food was excellent, especially the Cuban BBQ Chicken (apparently it has been on the menu for 15 years and I can see why) which was delicious and despite my potions appearing small I left fully sated. A lovely meal - thank you!

It was not very easy to find it, as it is inside a building (I think it was a hotel) so we had to ask at the entrance. The service was really good, we asked for the tasting menu and the appetizers were great. The mains were not that outstanding, but were good as well. It is a good restaurant, overall.

I had originally ordered the theater menu which was reasonable value. As we had to change our booking for later (wanted to have a later dinner to explore London some more, I live here but had parents visiting) we didn't end up getting the offer. Starters are between £12 - 19 and mains are approx. £22 - 50, drinks are £12. Nice atmosphere and good service but overpriced and not god value for money. The restaurant is in a very touristy and slightly dingy area (close to Leicester Sq) and although the restaurant itself is in a lovely building the rest of the area isn't great. I would go here for drinks before or after a meal but eat somewhere else.

For the main meal we all individually ordered except for the two who had ordered to share a fish. The waiter refused to split the shared order and instead told us we had to do it ourselves. He would not even bring the serving plate to enable us to serve ourselves. The problem was the table was too long and was not possible to serve ourselves. Ordered another bottle of white wine, which was brought to the table, but forgotten to serve. Had to request another waiter a couple of times to get served. After complaining to the manager, she took off the bill the wine, and the service charges but the night out was ruined by incompetent waiter. Positive side was that the kitchen had done a great job, however not served to its best.

We returned to this restaurant and although we had a great evening the service was terrible with an hours wait between courses. If you are going to automatically add service to the bill at least ensure it is up to standard. Food as ever was brilliant and we had the tasting menu. Waiter was lovely but clearly had too many diners to attend to. This is an expensive restaurant and the service shpuld be 1st class-it always has been till now. We have been coming here for years and they let themselves down.

A pre theatre dinner for 4. We were late but the front desk were superb in accommodating us. We told our waiting staff we had to be at the theatre across the road at 730pm and ordered quickly. The food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing but the table service was a much lower standard. The staff didn't know whose meals were whoses when they came with them to the table, they twice leant across another dinner to place the food in front of the right person even though we were sitting around one side of a circular table for 8 and all diners were fully accessible and we had to ask for our desserts for 2 of the diners 3 times before we finally got up and asked for a refund. Overall left with a slightly dissatisfied feeling.

Nice new York ambience. Big open space. No problem getting a table on Friday night. Cocktails nice, wine good value, Ceviche was OK but all tasted the same. I liked the octopus starter, Cuban chicken and sea bass. On the negative the oxtail dumplings were drowned in soya sauce - which was a theme but nothing terrible. Service was slowish but pleasant. A bit expensive for what it is to go often.

Ok, so £80 a head for dinner (including 2 bottles of good wine) isn't cheap. But with food of this quality, and a waiter who advises rather than sells, it is worth it. We were having a special dinner for five. The waiter advised 4 starters and 3 mains would be appropriate, and he was spot on. The 2 desserts we ordered were gluttony though; 1 between the 5 May have been enough. (Our fault, not the waiter's!) Calamari salad was excellent, even though I don't usually eat squid. Pork belly starter was amazing. Short ribs main were out of this world. I will definitely return on a special occasion. Shame I can't afford it more often. But then, maybe it should be kept 'special'.

Had dined at Asia de Cuba before but not in a long time. Booked for a group dinner for 8 people. On arrival, we were seated at a large round table in the back of the restaurant which was beautifully lit. We pre-ordered Menu III for groups - portions were extremely generous for every dish with a broad range of dishes served. Stand out dishes included the jumbo sea scallops - perfectly cooked to melt in the mouth and the coffee crusted rib eye steak - crunchy on the outside and rare on the inside. In particular the, service was excellent - all the staff were friendly and helpful with explaining the dishes. A lovely evening out - would definitely recommend.
