We booked this restaurant, last minute, before going off to the Albert Hall. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful, and the food was good. The location is perfect for a visit prior to going to the RAH. They do a good value set menu, although we ate off the a la carte.

It's a good restaurant with great design but the mains are bit overpriced. Staff is friendly although slow and food is taking a long time to arrive as well. However, it's a great place if you have lots of time. Their choice of food is good and their cakes and coffees are delicious. It's nice for a first date as well as group meetings.

I have been to a different Aubaine before in Hamsted and the service was much better there. The feeling I got from this Aubaine was that they are highly understaffed. No eye contact from the staff when you need help. The waitresses/Waiter were so busy that they could not deal with all the customers even though it was not full at the restaurant. We waited very long to pay for the bill so we ended up walking to the till asking them to let us pay. Food was very very good so its just a shame the service was poor.

Chaotic - the service whilst friendly, can only be described as chaotic due to lack of training of the waiting personnel. This leads to a longer dining experience than perhaps you wanted. As shame because the location is good, the food also good.

Booked a table for using the Autumn deal. When it was time to order they gave us a different menu with only a handful of boring choices for the deal. This was NOT the menu that opentable provided when booking with this deal. We asked to speak to a manager who offered a drink and dessert on the house after a lengthy discussion. We chose to depart from the restricted menu and chose a main from the original menu. I asked for my rump to be WELL DONE, it came to me medium/rare. I sent it back and watched the manager (Davide) sigh and roll his eyes at my request. Shocking and very unprofessional. Unpleasant dining experience. Staff kept checking the time on their wrist watch whilst taking our order. Food was nothing special. Small portions too.

This place looks the part but unfortunately doesn't deliver. The food was average, coffee was cold and the waitress seemed miserable. Granted it was busy, but not overly. We had eggs benedict and florentine - nice but very very rich. Our coffees were cold and too milky.

I almost always choose Aubaine (primarily Brompton Cross and less often High Street Kensington or Piccadilly) for informal business meetings and gatherings, and all three restaurants have consistently provided excellent service, a warm atmosphere and delicious food. I give 5 stars to Brompton Cross, for their unfailing courtesy and service, 3 to High Street Kensington, as their service is sometimes gruff and sketchy, and 4-5 to Piccadilly. On this occasion the service at High Street Kensington was better than usual, so thank you for making the extra effort.

Our starters ( salmon tartar and crab brioche) were delicious, but madly overpriced. For our mains we had cod and a cut of the day with truffle mash. The waitress was very confused and kept changing her mind about how many sides of mash we should get, and the end we got one and half way through our meal we got another one. Our main dishes were quite nice, but very small for the price we payed. Truffle mash was awful and lacked flavour. For a desert we shared a praline profiterole wich was dry, stale and flavourless.... The staff seemed like they were trying too hard ...probably that Bering the reason for all the empty tables. Not coming back!

It was my 2nd time at Aubaine and the experience unfortunately made me decide that I'll not go back to this restaurant. The first I tried was in Mayfair and it was far better. I've booked the 2 courses set menu with a glass of wine. The soups were served in coffee cups so the portions were quite small. The main food was alright but the side dishes (proposed by the waiter as necessary for some of the mains) were not quite good. The broccoli was slightly raw and unsalted. Overall an OK-ish experience but I wouldn't recommend going to this particular Aubaine.

After a hard day at a trade fair, I suggested this restaurant to colleagues & we booked for a table at 7.15pm for 8 people. The restaurant wasn't busy, so the food & service should have been better. The set menu was disappointing & uninviting, when the food came it was cold or lukewarm, definitely not hot, & my MD had to send his Coke back twice as the first was warm & the second wasn't Diet Coke. We were all too tired & hungry to complain, but for a total bill of over £300, it should have been better & I expected more. The Aubaine in Brompton Cross was much better.

I can see why this restaurant had last minute availability for a group of 7 on a Saturday night. More known for their brunch/lunch, this place seems to not be able to cope with dinner. The wait staff appeared overwhelmed and at times I felt we were ignored when trying to get their attention. Whilst the restaurant decor is very nice and the food good and fair value (they offer a good value set menu), the service was unacceptably slow. I won't be returning.

Very pleasant place within easy reach of the Albert Hall (10 minutes stroll away) and about 50 yards from High Street kensington station. Our waitress was really lovely, a Spanish flower in a french kitchen. The food and winde were both pretty good , at a reasonable price. ideal fora pre-Albert Hall dinner. We preferred it to the places we have tried around South Kensington station, which are mostly older and bigger brands.

I had dinner with dear friend last friday, I wanted to introduce her french cuisine. Food was good , not outstanding, but the real problem in that restaurant at High Street Kensington is the staff, we had to many persons asking us about our choices and finally for starter ( cheese board ) we waited for about 20 minutes and I have to say there was just few people. So disappointing , the same with main course, we couldnt finish our starter bsc one of waitresse told us the mains courses are ready to serve, and then we waited another half and hour for mains course arrive. .I used to go to differents Aubaine for dinner and special occasion but they really have to be more careful with training their awaiting staff>Poor, poor service.

We had the set menu and although not a large choice the quality of the food was very good. I had the prawns to start and my friend had the goats chesse and both were presented really well and flavours were good. For main meal we both had the hake and this was also very good. I am not sure that having the deserts on a plate to show you is a good idea we found this off-putting. Overall good value but we did need to add some extras to the main course.

Thinking as to where my wife and I could get a nice meal near Kensington Gardens at 4 in the afternoon we used the OpenTable app and found Aubaine. It was empty but still welcoming. Light and airy. The set menu was delicious and the house wine good enough. Plenty of good bread and lovely French butter on the house. We would definitely go back for an a la carte meal. We like Cote but this was a little better. Not sure why.

I chose this restaurant due to its proximity to the Royal Albert Hall. We dinned at 6:15 and told the waiter we needed to be at a performance for 7:30. Service was prompt but we didn't feel rushed. We ate from the "2 courses and a glass of wine" offer menu. The food was well cooked and presented. Some may argue that the portion sizes were on the small side but this suited us fine. Overall a good experience. I've heard this restaurant is great for brunch and the patisserie style desserts looked tempting!

I have had lunch most of the times - when is very busy - but I went there for dinner with my family last week, and it was fairly quiet, but music, chat and candles made it feel nice. The staff is always polite and have a smile. I haven't tried their coffee and pastries, so that is on the list for next time!

My husband and I had a romantic dinner here to celebrate his birthday. The food was quite good and they had an excellent selection of wine and cocktails. The desserts were a little uninteresting. I had the feeling that they were ordered in rather than prepared on the premises. My only complaint was that service was a little slow. We had to ask twice for the bill, which wasn't ideal as we had tickets at the Royal Albert Hall.

Visited here for a Saturday brunch. Nice ambience, and lovely decor. I had eggs royal at around £10, there were OK, but in all honesty ive had better at the likes of cafe rouge. Expensive for what you get, however understandably as it is in Kensington. Felt the service was very rushed, and honestly have not encountered such miserable waiting staff in my life.
