Barbecoa is a celebration of traditional fire-based cooking and incredible ingredients. Founded by Jamie Oliver, it’s much more than a steak restaurant. Our in-house butchers handpick and prepare the very best meat in Britain, then our chefs cook beautiful modern dishes using Texas pit smokers, tandoors, fire pits, robata grills and wood-fired ovens. And was situated opposite Nandos. Just lost somthing really. I also had to ask them to slow the service down as it was a little quick. Brst steak I've had for a lomg time though!"

  • "We loved the food at Barbecoa, everything was great from the starter to the dessert and coffee. We also had a very nice waitress who was always helpful, explained us the different dishes and gave pretty good recommendations for beer and wine. We had the bread platter as a starter, it was a real treat (a few types of bread, all of them great, with chicken butter which was also very good). For the main course we had the pulled pork and spare ribs, which were excellent and also not that pricey. Usually I'm not a big meat eater, but this place does have awesome meat! Overall, we just had a very good time and we'd probably come back had we lived in London."

  • "Food is great, had ribs starter and best ribs ever, smokey with fresh chillies, partner had pigs cheeks and little then had Rib eye sharer plate £70 - medium rare and perfect, sliced like butter and we had the bone to nibble also, desserts also very gd, basically the food is very gd, the ambience is too loud, feels like a club on medium volume and it's a bit of a Jamie tourist venue (lots of Towie wannabes etc...) which is a shame, your packed in at the window tables, and for these reasons won't return and I'm not ancient but for the ££ you feel it should be more of a decent dinner venue, final bill £158 for two so it’s not Jamie’s Italian…. I never fault Jamie’s food, live next to J Italian and always 1st class,"

  • "As a meat lover I had to try on of the best steak's restaurant. Had a T-bone, 5cm thick! Really tender, no blood going around in your plate. Chips are cooked from steak fat. Good but taste too strong after a while. Starters were incredible. Had some prawn cooked in a tandoori oven. Bread board is also amazing. Went on Friday evening and it was hot. Problem was it was even hotter in the restaurant. I don't understand how there's no air con in a restaurant of that standing... Was sweating. The total was £215 for 3 persons. Too expensive for what it is. It is great but for same price you can actually go to a 1 Michelin star restaurant in London. Went to America many times where you can a real steak for 30$... Roughly £17"

  • "Delighted with our trip to Barbecoa; the view of St. Paul's, the busy ambiance and the food were all fantastic. Perfect for a special occasion and the rump steak, which is the cheapest cut on the menu, was as good as any fillet I've tried elsewhere. Noticed that there was no option for vegetarians on the menu. It's the kind of place I would definitely revisit - and look forward to revising again soon."

  • "Barbecoa is vibrant and in the light of St Pauls Cathedral for a special occasion or romantic meal its a must placed to go. The food is varied within its theme of a steakhouse as there is plenty to choose from. The chefs can be seen cooking and doing their magic to give a good meal as you walk inside the restaurant. If you are not too hungry try the burger made with prime steak accompanied with potato chjps with potato skins it was the best I have tasted. The wine list can be a bit pricy but it is a good range. The service is excellent where your table is looked after without the staff interfering by keep asking if you and your meal fine."

  • "I booked Barbecoa as I was visiting London to celebrate my impending 40th birthday. I had been for lunch before, working nearby so I knew the food was good. The food did not disappoint and my request for a table with a view was noted however I was really let down by the ambience. It was a full house on Saturday but it felt like a kitchen / canteen environment with no intimacy. My party of 4 were all dressed up but many diners were in very casual clothes and it was so noisy. Perhaps I had the wrong expectations but I was disappointed for me and my husband, and friends we dined with. I chose Barbecoa for the steak menu, being a Jamie O restaurant in a fantastic location but wished I had chosen an alternative restaurant. A real shame."

  • "The food was great, just great. And everything on the menu has been planned with care. Even the selection of softdrinks has been planned to give some wonderful flavours. Its not cheap but I left having had such a wonderful night that I didn't mind. What really set the night apart was the exceptional work of the staff. Really a dining experience that I will remember."

  • "Have one waiter serving a large section. The table beside waiting for 15 minutes for their bills. We ended up having to refill our own wine glasses and struggled to even get someone to come to our attention for dessert menu despite the receptionist standing three meters away and was totally aware we were after something. Food was alright otherwise"

  • "This being my second time I knew it would be good. Our waiter was excellent, can't remember his name but he had an amazing moustache! Anyway he recommended the best wines and also offered us a little wine tasting so we could order our favourite. My boyfriend discovered a new wine which he fell in love with. We both loved the food, absolutely delicious and every bite was amazing. Dessert was just as good and we didn't want the night to end. We had an amazing time and I'm sure we wil return!"

  • "I had the smoked tandoori prawns for entree and that was amazing. But very very disappointed with my main. I got the unpulled pork which was smothered in a BBQ like sauce which was incredibly rich. There was also jalapeño bread with the main which was also horrible with some melted cheese on it. The only thing I liked was the slaw! The presentation was also horrible and made the dish not look appetising! The meat was cooked well but as I said the sauce on the meat ruined it. I had the panna cotta for dessert which was amazing and helped make up for the main. But yes I wouldn't come back here unless the mains were fully changed because nothing really looked that appetising. Service and atmosphere is great though!"

  • "Terrific tender rib-eye for 2 was the centre piece of an great overall meal. (although those with an aversion to fat content in their steak might want to chose a leaner cut). Would recommend also the Scallop Crudo as a lighter way to start. Service was good (and at the right pace). At £210 for 2 including drinks it puts in the special occasion category for us, rather than a regular haunt."

  • "Try to order the chicken tandoory, but alas the waiter discouraged me , saying the clay oven wasn't very good, doersn't get hot enough, the chicken doesn't stick to the clay, etc,etc,etc. At the end he recommended me ( since I was the only one not eating meat) fish , with mash and some lost carrots? Pay a lot of money for it !! So this was the first and last time at this restaurant ."

  • "My wife&I attended for a celebratory dinner,food was filling&well sized feeling that we got both good value for money&left feeling saited but not over full.Being vegetarian my options were limited (2 options for starter although make sure to ask them to avoid using parmeggiano cheese; there was a single option for dinner which was a smoked vegetable ratatouile on potato rosti - which was small but a delight). Highly recommended for vegetarian&carnivore combinations & carnivores alone but vegetarian only couples may struggle."

  • "We went to Barbecoa with some high expectations. We were welcomed very friendly and professional. The place has an outstanding team of staff members who are one by one professional, friendly, polite and helpfull. The food, wine and service was outstanding from beginning to end. The only "comment" we have is that the place is too busy and crowded. They have placed so many tables the get the full space covered, this results in very loud and busy atmosphere. We were sitting across each other and we nearly needed to shout to understand each other. It would be much nicer to place a little less tables, further away from each other to create a more cosy environment."

Only down side was the room temperature, big glass walls with sun in them all day turns the space into a greenhouse so could do with air con."

  • "I'm a fan of Jamie Oliver which was my main reason for booking. We have Jamie restaurants in Australia but they tend to get burned down by their dodgy managers so I've never been. So on my visit to London I couldn't help but go to Barbecoa despite having to just about take out a mortgage on my house to afford it. The food was awesome. I had the 250g rump with the burbon sauce and my husbandand I shared the dessert tasting plate which was absolutely gorgeous. And we had a table looking onto St Pauls Cathedral. The staff were polite and kindly obliged when we asked them to take our photo. If it weren't for the cost we would certainly visit again. Jamie keep inspiring people to cook and eat well. We in Aus think you're great. Thanks!"

  • "I went to Barbecoa two years ago and was not very impressed with the food. On Saturday we went to the restaurant again and I was positively suprised about the quality of the food. I just think that the tables are too big for a party of 4 or 5 people. You almost need to shout to make a conversation."

  • "My partner is a huge Jame fan so I booked this as a special treat on our recent visit to London. I found it quite dark and noisy, you couldnt have a pleasant conversation as you had to speak quite loudly and the tables beside us were very close together. The service was fantastic and very attentive to our needs. Starter choices werent great but what I ordered was light and refreshing. We both had steak - a must when dining out and it was absolutely gorgeous! Veg let the meal down though. I found the desserts similar to the starter, not a great selection but we ordered the selection of mini desserts which was a good idea. That way we got to try a bit of everything. Overrall experience was reasonably good but steak was the best."

  • "Took my boyfriend for a surprise birthday meal as he's into Jamie Oliver and loves his meat. Neither of us were disappointed. Friendly, helpful staff, gorgeous view of st Pauls cathedral, amazing food! We had crackling to nibble on (very moorish) a starter each, a main each and three sides to share and we couldnt finish it all. Portions were very generous and the flavours and quality of the produce shone through. Also shared a dessert and had 3 cocktails and water for £160 including service. As far as im concerned it was really was really good value, we had a fantastic time and would definitely go back!"
