A word from Barbecoa
Founded by Jamie Oliver, Barbecoa is much more than a steak restaurant – it’s a celebration of fire-based cooking and incredible, quality ingredients.

Our in-house butchers handpick and prepare the very best meat from farms around Britain, then our chefs use it to create beautiful, modern dishes making the most of Texas pit smokers, tandoors, fire pits, robata grills and wood-fired ovens.

You’ll feel the heat, see the flames lick and the smoke drift upwards from our open kitchen as you indulge in one of our beautiful cocktails or a glass of whisky from our impressive selection.

Wow. What an amazing experience. We visited to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. From booking, to attending, to leaving, the service was outstanding. We arrived and were greeted with a friendly, warm welcome in reception. The bar waitress (Sarah) was outstanding. We were shown to our table, which had stunning views over St Paul's. Our table waitress (Valentina) was Professionalism, knowledge and friendliness personified. Then the food.......... Presentation, quality and taste. It was simply divine. I mentioned to Valentina that my husband has been a chef for 23yrs. After our meal she invited us to see the kitchens. It was wonderful. Special Thanks to Sarah and Valentina for making our experience so special. Highly recommended.

If you are looking for white linen, fine dining, this is not it. It's great food, served smart, but casual. On the upper end of the price scale than the average restaurant, but you get the quality without the pretentiousness. Our waitress, was excellent and really contributed to the positive experience, striking the balance between attentiveness and fun soundly. Would certainly recommend to meat lovers on a special occasion.

£203 for 2 cocktails 1 nibbles 2 bottles of water 1 bottle of wine 2 starters 2 main courses and 2 coffees - simply no room for desert! Steak we had (T bone & fillet) were as ordered and beautifully filling - chips were average as well as the seasonal veg! The desert menu begged a return visit. The service was friendly polite and most helpful. It was a birthday meal so yes it was value for money.

Did my research in the Zagat guide and when I realized I couldn't afford Gordon Ramsay's exhorbitant prices, I opted for Barbecoa. I'm so pleased I did. The staff, from the beginning to the end of our experience was wonderful and accommodating! The Burratta appetizer and 3 chili cornbread was delectable. The smoked ribs and short ribs were tender, very flavorful and satisfying! I knew we were close to St. Paul's Cathdral, but I didn't know we would be treated to a fabulous view of it from the huge windows from our dining table! Highly recommended from a picky foodie, myself! It should get a higher rating in the Zagat guide!

We had a lovely steak and the staff where great The venue is a little too big and tables very close so there is a lot of noise and if your unfortunate enough to get a drunk load business man from the US sat on the table next to us like we did it could ruin the experience a little. But overall I would definitely return to the restaurant again

We enjoyed a small family diner on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was packed. We were greeted very friendly by all staff we met on our way to our table. However, when we left, none of these staff members said goodbye apart from the ones trained to do so (at the downstairs reception). The food was good but not outstanding. The ambience however was nice, especially being able to view the kitchen. The restaurant was run with military precision, well done. However, this leaves little room for spontaneity. Besides, adding a hefty service charge of 12.5% to the bill plus an additional 1 pound as a voluntary donation seems a little bit rude to us.

Great food & great service, but much too loud. Very echo-ey & loud, with noise from other diners & the inevitable thump of music forcing you to shout through the evening. Also, the contrived faux-rustique thing is just silly. Wooden tables with ironstone crockery. Come on. Give us white table cloths & white crockery. And the chairs! This is a restaurant in the heart of the City, where most men wear suits. But can you hang your jacket on the back of the chair? No. The curved back means that you will wreck your jacket. Small things like this matter, & Jamie has not thought about it.

Just because it's jamie olives restaurant doesn't automatically mean it's going to be good. It actually has to be good to be good, and for the prices they charge you'd expect it to be. Service was ok, they seated us 15 mins early and took my coat and bag which was nice. Although the table was next to a pillar at an angle and everyone walking by knocked in to my chair. Also there was no dedicated waiting staff, we were asked if we would like a drink by three different waiters even though we had ordered them the first time round. Food was good but not mind blowing, the steak was underdone and fatty, not worth the 70 quid you pay for. I wouldn't come here again unless they can make this restaurant as perfect as the price commands.

Really enjoyed the whole evening and the food was great for meat lovers. But a 3 course meal for two at £225 was a little steep when we had one fairly low priced bottle of wine and 2 cocktails. It was our anniversary so didn't mind pushing out the boat, but for a "normal Friday night out" I'd have been slightly less impressed.

First, Barbecoa is LOUD--with no soft surfaces to muffle the din (the opposite of romantic). Interesting cocktails. When we (3 couples) asked the waitress for separate checks, she said, "NO! We don't do that here." This = either an awkward chat at the end of the meal, or an equal split that favors those who order the most (good for Barbecoa--NOT for customers). The food was okay. My steak was good, nothing special, and a bit odd to have bone marrow AND a small pool of Hollandaise. My husband's ribs were even odder--tasty, but each type had different spices that did not go well together. Desserts were creative--we were more impressed with these. Overall, noisy, pricey, service was a bit rude. I wouldn't rush back.

I can only assume this restaurant is so busy because most people in it are City bankers and lawyers who are expensing their meals. Very nice food but the prices are ridiculous. I'd prefer to go to a Gordon Ramsey or a Michelin starred restaurant for these prices. Galvin at Windows was cheaper and better when I went last month.

Booked a table at Barbecoa for our four year anniversary. We got there in time to enjoy a drink in the bar before we got our table. We was shown to our table and a waitress came over to take our order. There was a misunderstanding in our order, one dish that was served was not as ordered. Waitress quickly offered to correct the error and change the dish. We decided not to as we wanted to eat the food together instead of waiting for a new dish. We were both very happy about the food anyway, it was absolutely delicious. As we were enjoying our amazing desserts my boyfriend pulled out a ring and proposed to me. I will definitely come back to Barbecoa again, but next time I will bring my fiancé :) (I said yes)

First time visited this restaurant due to Jamie's big name. Medium T-bone steak was cooked to medium well, too dry and not juicy. Source did not come with steak and need to order separately. It looks like Barbecoa can not call as fine dinning. Waitress did not give us an good intro on the menu as I mentioned on the booking it wae first time visit. Anyway this it is over rated and not worth for money.

1st visit to Barbecoa in an attempt to try an alternative to regular steak favorite The Hawksmoor. Very attentive and friendly service from staff from the initial meet and greet to taking us to the table. I opted for the 10oz fillet steak which was fantastic though the 10oz sirloin was equally impressive. Beans with burnt ends were a nice alternative to the regular vegetable options in most restaurants. Will visit again to try the wagyu beef burger.
