  • "Delicious food and very professional service. Loved the wine list. We enjoyed our evening and will definitely return."

  • "lovely Sunday lunch Very good service Personalice service. quiet but not bowring"

  • "Arrived and was seated at the door next to reception although was later moved to window. Very hot and uncomfortable and others didn't want the windows opened. Lunch was very good although not as good as the previous chef. Staff not very knowledgeable about the cheeses, asked what the blue cheese was and was told its a blue cheese!! When I asked again which type I was told it's just a blue cheese!! Place is looking a bit tired in its decor but the position on the river is excellent. Would go again but only for the market lunch as we spent £150.00"

  • "Have eaten here before and thoroughly enjoyed it. However, hadn't returned for dinner due to lack of adequate nearby parking. Not ideal when you're done up for a nice dinner as likelihood is you would have to park the far side of Richmond. However, lunch another matter as can be combined with a stroll round the shops. We'd read about the Mystery lunch and no problem as we eat anything, unlike many. Thoroughly enjoyed it and, being lunch, was great value although, dinner price is also very good for what you get, exquisite food, great service and nice atmosphere. Although not local for us we will definitely return for lunch. Just a shame that there isn't plentiful parking as it's one of the nearest Michelin rated restaurants to us (Weybridge)"

  • "Had a lovely afternoon and really enjoyed the food and ambience. The service was also extremely professional and would not hesitate to return again. The lunch menu of £15 was exceptionally good value, and the food did not disappoint...keep up the good work - it is so refreshing to find somewhere that can deliver on service, value, fantastic food and ambience."
    dined on 23/08/2014
  • "We enjoyed the Saturday lunch time market offer which currently is outstanding value at £15pp instead of the usual £25. The welcome and service was highly attentive. The food was well presented and of a high quality of smell and taste. There was an amazing wine selection to suit all budgets I had 2 glasses of the Pinot and it was refreshing and crisp! Definately worth a visit."

  • "This is a great place, we had a fantastic tasting menu, which wasn't cheap, but very good food. Also, if it's warm enough, sit out on the balcony, as it has a great view over the river."
    dined on 20/08/2014
  • "Bingham is a real gem with delicious food (though the dessert was a slight let down) and a lovely setting. It is expensive but the market menu for £25 each (three courses) is very good and £15 at lunchtime even better. I would definitely recommend."

  • "My friend and I who regularly meet for lunch and enjoy trying something different decided to try the mystery menu which we thought would add a bit more interest to our lunch. 5 courses for £35 which was ok but felt portions were quite small, particularly the meat course of lamb cutlets only received one cutlet, beautifully cooked but could have done with at least two. Service mediocre, pleasant but came over as a little distant and not that enthusiastic."
    dined on 12/08/2014
  • "Enjoyed the 3 course Market Menu lunch on Saturday with a friend. The food was very good and the service was fine - though they did get our order wrong but it was soon rectified. Had a lovely window table and the ambience was good - the dining room was filled with a mixture of diners from romantic couples to a gathering of about 8. Would definitely return and also happy to recommend the Bingham"

  • "I took my wife here for our wedding anniversary meal - the evening was just fantastic. We loved the Hotel in every respect - we were not staying so the review is limited to the dining experience. We would have sat outside on the lovely balcony with view of the Thames just a few feet away - but the rain was very heavy indeed. We stayed just in side - same views but dry. The service was impeccable - light but attentive. The food was very memorable indeed - my roast cod and truffle mash was one of the nicest meals I have eaten in the last 20 years - that good! - perfect balance and seasoning - an absolute joy. My wife was similarly impressed. We will come back again and have been telling our friends. We were very impressed."

  • "I took my wife here for her birthday treat. We always like Mr & Mrs Smith recommended hotels/restaurants and this did not let us down. The 3 course set menu was excellent value for £25 and the food was excellent. We were also served bread and two aperitifs for no extra charge during the meal. The view of the river and gardens was beautiful and the hotel had character and was to an excellent standard. Service was also excellent. We could not fault. I'd recommend parking in River Lane, Petersham and walking along the river to get there as parking and traffic in Richmond not easy."

  • "We had a wonderful lunch, excellent service and were left in peace to enjoy a sunny afternoon overlooking the river.."
    dined on 06/08/2014
  • "We enjoyed dinner to celebrate my wires birthday at the Bingham last Saturday evening. We sat on the terrace on a cool but not cold evening. We had a vey enjoyable meal of scallops with pork followed by lamb and a Patagonian pinot noir. Excellent, one of the best meals that we have had recently."
    dined on 02/08/2014
  • "Bingham has all the decor and river setting to be amazing but the service was terrible the food over priced. Go to Gauchos if you are going to spend £100/person and good food over looking the river."
    dined on 29/07/2014
  • "Fantastic food in a beautiful surrounding. Would recommend to anyone for a great dining experience."
    dined on 29/07/2014
  • "Really lovely food for a great price in a beautiful setting"
    dined on 29/07/2014
  • "I chose this restaurant as Richmond is so full of chains (Slugs/Steins/Gauchos) along the riverfront and to really appreciate the views and setting the Bingham Hotel beats all those! As with a hotel, the pre-dinner bar area is light and spacious and the restaurant even on this hot day was cool and airy with all the doors open to the veranda. Seating on the balcony is limited and the furniture not as comfortable as inside. We had a lovely table for Sunday lunch. Parking is a nightmare in Richmond and this hotel provides spaces nominally charged at £10 a space for as long as you want..well we went for a long walk after the meal. A lovely place especially for three generations or indeed anyone. BTW, food and staff great too!."
    dined on 27/07/2014
  • "Amazing food, setting, service. My only minor complaint was that our wine wasn't chilled properly and shouldn't have been served to us at the temp it was. But would def return and have told everyone I know what good value is it"
    dined on 26/07/2014
  • "We are a local family and wanted to celebrate a family event in a local venue. It was a perfect summer evening and with all the doors open onto the terrace overlooking the riverside, cool and pleasant even after the sun went down. We all chose the Market Menu, three courses for £25 and were delighted that in addition, there was beautifully baked fresh bread, an amuse bouche of gazpacho and a very refreshing pineapple sorbet. I had the pea soup, a generous serving, and the flavour was as intense as the colour. The beef was perfectly cooked and again a generous amount. The caramel mousse looked stunning. I could only find one NZ wine on the wine list and as a NZ'er was slightly miffed by that. Overall, a most enjoyable experience"
    dined on 24/07/2014
  • "£25for 3 courses is great value in a lovely setting. Great wine list and lovely amuse Bouche. Service unfortunately a bit slow and had to get up from the table to find a waiter to get the bill."
    dined on 24/07/2014
  • "One of the best restaurants I've been to both in the UK and abroad. The service is impeccable, waiters are very attentive and will go the extra mile to make you feel special. The food is indeed very very good - the Chef does a great job at combining different textures, tastes, colours in one dish, which I find very appealing. You feast your eyes and your taste buds, and the portions are just right. The cocktail and wine list is extensive and the ambience is great. The restaurant also has seating on a small terrace outside overlooking the Thames - the perfect place for dinner and cocktails on a warm summer evening."
    dined on 23/07/2014
  • "Good meal spoiled by the fact that when I asked for some more bread to go with my soup, they said it would cost £4 (for four slices!!). I can just about deal with paying £10 for a glass of wine but £4 for a bit of bread in a place with Michelin pretensions is taking the Michael. Shame as the food and service were otherwise good and the £15 lunch menu, while consisting of 'simple', inexpensive, ingredients was well cooked and well flavoured."
    dined on 21/07/2014
  • "I'm afraid my review is tempered by the poor service experienced during our most recent visit to the Bingham. The food was excellent - very good indeed. The building and ambience are also excellent. But on the day, the service was distinctly poor. Confusion over drinks, including not being offered an aperitif, white wine that was too warm and needed time to cool, water regularly spilled over the table when poured! Lack of information when dishes were served: 'you're both having fish, aren't you?' was the introduction to one course, and we were but different fish dishes each. In the cocktail bar after, we were ignored each time we wanted to order - at one point a member of staff was berated in front of us over something else while we waited."
    dined on 19/07/2014
  • "We went for the Market lunch offer they had on at the time. The venue was great and we had a table by the window overlooking the Thames. The food was lovely and well presented. We went outside onto the veranda for the dessert. All in all we had a great time. and no doubt will go again."
    dined on 19/07/2014
  • "We had a disappointing evening on Friday. The food was fine but service poor. Starters appeared before the wine was delivered to the table. First wine choice unavailable - alternative supplied slowly. Staff unapologetic - almost as though it was our fault. could have been our fault. Not in the style the try to promote. We won't be rushing back for dinner any time soon."
    dined on 18/07/2014
  • "The market menu is good vaue and well cooked, though choices were limited. Service is very good."
    dined on 05/07/2014
  • "The Bingham has long been a favourite of mine. However this latest visit has left me wondering if its best days are behind it. There was a large garden party ongoing the evening we were there to celebrate the Hotel's anniversary and clearly this had a heavy impact on the standard of service and food we received in the restaurant. It was clear that they had drawn in rewserve waiters who had no idea about basic service. The food menu was limited to just a choice of 2 starters and 2 mains. The noise level was ridiculously unsettlling and overall the experience a poor one. I would've thought at the very least they could have warned us when we were booking the table that there would be a party on that same night. Am not sure I would go back."
    dined on 02/07/2014
  • "Booked for dinner & there was a choice of 2 starters (one was pea soup & so I had the other!), 2 mains & 2 deserts. The portions are tiny! The desert was strawberries & cream & I was given 3 strawberries! My husband & I stopped off at a corner shop on the way home to grab a bar of chocolate! The bill was £125 for two."
    dined on 02/07/2014
  • "We had birthday lunch in Bingham. Fantastic service and great food! The best restaurant in Richmond..."
    dined on 01/07/2014
  • "The food was delicious and certainly not what you would or could cook at home. The service was attentive and very helpful but not intrusive. Overall a lovely evening and we will return."
    dined on 28/06/2014
  • "Romantic setting, friendly waiter, delicious cuisine. My date and I both chose the scallop starter and cod entree. Finished with fresh strawberries and raspberries on a bed of frozen yogurt. Can't wait to go back."
    dined on 27/06/2014
  • "It really is a stunning location, we ate on the terrace on a beautiful summer' evening. The staff are very pleasant but hopelessly undertrained. Our waitress had poor English and was not really able to explain the dishes. Our waiter, when asked about the amuse bouche of minted pea soup and crouton, replied: "is soup, I ask". We asked for the sommelier but the message was not passed on. When we eventually attracted his attention as the first course arrived, he did suggest a very good wine. The portions were tiny, I had chips on the way home. It's a beautiful place, the food is good but it needs work."
    dined on 25/06/2014
  • "Really enjoyed the £15 market lunch. Beautiful setting and food interesting and tasty. Buzzing atmosphere especially for a Monday. Great value and so happy to spend on the accompanying wine and coffee."
    dined on 23/06/2014
  • "We sat on the balcony overlooking the river and ate the most delicious lunch - we went for the 5-course mystery menu - it was really fun not knowing what was coming next and everything tasted amazing"
    dined on 20/06/2014
  • "We dined at lunchtime, and had a gorgeous table on the balcony - such a great view. There were 2 menus, the Market Menu set one, and "a surprise at £35 for 6 courses". They adapted 1 surprise for me as a vegetarian. The menus were both good....would have been nice to know so we could request that eggs are well done not runny (everyone has their peculiarities but without knowing what's coming it's hard to guide). The only let down was that they said the 6 courses included a cheese course and a dessert.... then the "cheese course" was a little cheese scone with cheesy squidge inside it. Not really the top-class cheese one expects (and has had many times before there) of the Bingham - but they were VERY good to replace, and we were delighted."
    dined on 17/06/2014
  • "The Bingham are running a great lunch time offer at the moment. £15 for 3 courses which I think is superb. Despite the popularity of the lunch, outstanding quality food continues to be served in the ambience of The Bingham. With plenty of change left over, you can while away a bottle of champagne whilst overlooking the River Thames. What a wonderful way to while away a couple of hours. Heck, you could shout everyone lunch - It'll make you look like the ultimate dream hostess. I've already been to The Bingham 3 times this year, with a 4th lunch booked. Thankfully, they change their menus frequently enough."
    dined on 13/06/2014
  • "We took advantage of the tremendous value Market Menu and dined on a beautiful day overlooking the River Thames. It's a 3-course 2- choice menu and between us we sampled everything that was on offer. All absolutely delicious. I can thoroughly recommended the smoked haddock risotto."
    dined on 13/06/2014
  • "Enjoyed the Market menu lunch once again on 10th June. Fabulous table on the terrace on a beautiful day with an excellent cold soup and haddock risotto or melt in the mouth pork. Even an appetiser was included so remarkable value at £15! Didn't want to leave and if you're looking to have a special lunch in Richmond look no further."

  • "The terrace at the Bingham overlooking the Thames is a great place to enjoy their Market lunch, 3 courses for £15.00. Te inside restaurant is also lovely and there is a great bar for cocktails and after lunch coffee."
