Boulevard Brasserie met our needs - 2 retirees and a teenager - being in Covent Garden and providing a pleasant and relaxing environment in which to talk. Service was slow to get going, but once we had placed our order it went smoothly, and all the staff were pleasant. Two of us had fish and one had steak, and we all enjoyed our 3 courses.

The opentable 50% off the a la carte menu represents excellent value. The range of dishes is well though out and the standard of cuisine of a high standard. The boeuf bourgignon was excellent and well presented. The service in a busy restaurant was friendly and respectful - we were never left waiting. To be recommended.

  • Cheery food on a wet day

We arrived on a wet Monday lunchtime. Not many diners, almost certainly reflecting the weather and the day, and hence not the usual level of pleasant background conversation and chatter expected in a brasserie. Combined with plain decor, scores down on ambience. This was more than made up for however by considered, attentive service and food that surpassed the simple menu descriptions. A real effort had been made in the kitchen. Good selection of traditional French brasserie favourites. Onion soup and boeuf bourguignon both nicely executed, with evident care and pride in the result. Piping hot, as they should be. We had booked with the 50% offer and this was included in the bill without the need for any request.

I have been to the Boulevard Brasserie quite a few times and always thoroughly enjoy it. It's my "go to" place in Covent Garden with friends for Sunday lunch. The waiters are very engaging and attentive and actually look like they are enjoying themselves which is a bonus these days! We had Sunday lunch. The food was of very good quality and portion sizes just right. The ambience here is french brasserie style with some lovely art deco touches.

We were shown to a delightful table by the window so that we could watch the excitement of the evening go by. We were given Kir Royal champagne cocktails on the house as they knew it was my birthday. Both waiters who served us were charming and really made us feel welcome and special. On the arrival of the dessert; in which they had placed a lighted candle; they sang Happy Birthday. This has definitely gone to the top of our list of favourite restaurants. Thank you.

Great for location...literally just off the piazza. Atmosphere reserved, airy and pleasant....not crammed in like others in the area, and quite believably French. Suited us well -, brilliant to get a French with good veggie options and fois gras and duck for Jack Spratt. All food and drink lovely except courgette which wasn't cooked in the veggie main dish. We will return!!!

Second visit to this restaurant (the first was in a group of 6). This visit was mid-week at lunchtime and far less crowded which made conversation easier for us oldies! The food was traditional French and I loved the idea of a Kir Royal as an aperitif include in the daily special. The service level was excellent and the suggested wine delightful. Would thoroughly recommend it for either a business or social meal.

We returned to this restaurant which was a positive experience. Had salmon fishcake as a starter and lemon sole for main, which was both prepared perfectly and tasted lovely. Our waiters Alixandra and Abdel both did an excellent job, and we were served a Kir Royal on the House to celebrate my birthday, which made the evening even more special. Would recommend it for romantic dinner or catch up time with friends and family.

We ate at the Brasserie on Monday night and had a wonderful meal. The pace of the meal was just right. We weren't hassled into ordering starters or side orders and were offered water straight away. We had chateaubriand which was cooked perfectly. We had desserts- a creme brûlée and an Eton mess both were again very tasty. Wine was well priced. We felt the restaurant was a good find and offered good value for money. We would definitely eat there again

Went there with my mum as wanted to treat her to smth nice unfortunately was very disappointed. The food was very mediocre, nothing special at all and definitely not worth the money. It was way too salty and the presentation was lacking any kind of sophistication. What's more, when I asked for the bill, I received a full price bill even though the waiter knew exactly that we booked the 50% off food offer as he was the one that presented us with the a la carte menu. Was he hoping that I'm not going to ask for the 50% off offer not too embarrass myself?? Very cheeky... would definitely not recommend that place.

Took advantage of the 50% off deal for a pre-Opera early evening meal; resulted in a superb experience in very pleasant surroundings. The Opera was almost an anti-climax! The food was superb; the option to order a carafe of wine rather than a full bottle plus the ability to share a starter and a desert between the two of us as part of the discount deal meant that we left full, relaxed and extremely satisfied for a bill of little more than £50, service included. Absolutely outstanding for this corner of Covent Garden. Just the right amount of hustle and bustle to provide an authentic brasserie experience, with efficient, professional and friendly front of house and waiting staff. I've no doubt we'll be back.

Are here for a pre-theatre birthday lunch with my mother & young son. Tables are very close together but as the restaurant wasn't full it wasn't a problem, I don't think id be so keen if fully booked. Good choice of food, we had the set Sunday menu & the roast dinner was great, my son loved the huge Yorkshire pudding ! Food was tasty, hot & portions ample. It was a shame that a muck up with the bill took nearly 25 minutes to resolve, but better late than never !

Although staff were at one point a little tetchy because our disabled friend was an hour late arriving in his wheelchair -it being Saturday night and very busy with tables pre-booked etc, they were so helpful and in the end managed to accommodate us the whole evening (we were about the last ones to leave!) It meant we wouldn't have to go and try to find a different place/venue with comfortable wheelchair access to finish our night out. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you want the ambience/friendliness of staff/ helpfulness and of course great food/drink reasonably priced.

We often eat at Boulevard Brasserie ans the 50% deal makes it exceptionally good value. This time around my dining companion and I both had the tuna steak served on a bed of Mediterranean vegetables with a side order of potatoes Dauphinoise; one of the steaks rare, the other well done. We were both very happy with the food and the presentation. Personally I found mine delicious. Only one gripe: the background music was a little loud for my taste, which detracted from the ambience somewhat. Apart from that, all fine.

Pleasant venue for a bite before crossing the road to Covent Garden. We both had the salmon, well-cooked, and accompanied by a tasty sautéed potato concoction. The fact that they would honour the Open Table 50% price reduction on food only with one specific day-menu, which was not clear on booking, made the price somewhat disappointing. Service was slick and efficient. I would recommend, but suggest you clarify the terms and conditions at time of making reservation.

We eat before going to the theatre in the Covent Garden area quite frequently and as often as not decide to eat at the Boulevard Brasserie where the food is excellent, the service extremely attentive, and you have total confidence that they will ensure that you make the start time of the show. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant. We were asked whether we would like a table in the livelier (more bistro) section or the quieter section which really suited us. The tables are quite close together if you are looking for a quiet dinner for two, but the atmosphere was lovely and relaxed. French framed posters add to the ambience of a bustling French brasserie. Waiters were attentive and the service efficient and friendly. The food was good (I chose from the pre-theatre menu and my husband from the a la carte) - and the French Revolution cocktails are a must! The fig and ham salad starter was delicious.

Booked the 2 courses and a Kir Royale for £17.50. Food very good-service extremely attentive-we arrived 45 minutes early and they took no time to accomodate us. we had a very bored 6 year old with us but the waiter was lovely and talked to her throughout-he made us feel very relaxed and welcome. On booking i made a comment that we were celebrating a 40th birthday-complimentary cake and a champagne cocktail for the birthday girl. A lovely dining experience.

Boulevard is excellent value and perfect for a pre theatre meal. This time the food was as good as usual. However, we were in the basement area and there was a loud party of people which made it impossible for us to talk / hear each other. The waitress kindly offered us coffee in another part of the restaurant. However I would specify a table upstairs in future.

group of 4 ate midweek dinner using the 50% off deal. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal, service was fine our only complaint and it was a small one was our table location was next to toilet entrance which if the area of the restaurant that we were in had been full could have been more disruptive. Had lunch with a long-standing business contact who works nearby so we tried this place and very pleased. We took the 50% off food offer, which requires ordering 2 courses off main menu (excluding steak, not a problem). My foie gras parfait was delicious and my friend's salad very colourful. Her beer battered cod with chips looked great and got a big thumbs up. My seafood linguine was packed with shellfish and tasty (very garlicky), but runny broth-like sauce + wayward pasta meant I left some pasta rather than splash us both with tomato sauce. Good wine by the glass and tap water supplied. Coffees also good. Just under £50 for 2 courses + 1 glass wine each + coffee = good value for location.

This restaurant had an authentic bistro "feel". The food was good without being exceptional, the wine offerings perfectly acceptable and the service friendly, if a little erratic at times. Our only complaint was that the portion of rabbit was very small, consisting mainly of ribs, which carry very little meat. However, the special offer of 50% off food made for a decent meal at a very good price.

Took the 3 courses with glass of Kir Royale for £22.50 Nice atmosphere and busy restaurant. Food was good and well presented. Good value for money. Waiting staff were attentive but service was a little slow. We had 1.5 hours to spare but had to rush our dessert at the end. If going pre-theatre best to tell them beforehand that you only have limited time. Only gripe was both our minute steaks had a large piece of gristle and fat in them so about a third could not be eaten. Would not put me off going again though.
