Diner Reviews
  • "This was our second visit to Boulevard Brasserie this summer for a pre-theatre dinner and once again it did not disappoint. The food is good and service is both friendly and efficient. One of our party follows a gluten (wheat) free diet and the restaurant produced with the menu a chart detailing all of the dishes that she could eat."

  • "We had their pre-theatre deal. Food was ok. Salmon fillet was't good, Probably had been frozen. The service was good and food was served quickly but we waited a long time for the desert (ice cream) and eventually had to cancel it because ee were running late for the show."

  • "My girlfriend and I visited the Boulevard Brasserie on a Monday evening just to get out and enjoy an evening in town. I read reviews on this restaurant and they were all very positive. The restaurant is well located and very easy to find. We were given a lovely table by the window on the 1st floor which was great. The restaurant had a very nice atmosphere and our waiter was very attentive and friendly but not too formal which I prefer. The food was excellent value especially given the 50% discount. The starters were all tasty and substantial. I had the sea bass and my partner the Beef bourginone (forgive the spelling). Both were excellent. We would happily return and had a very good evening overall."

  • "A lovely restaurant with very attentive staff. Nice to be offered water without having to ask for it. Menu was clearly explained. Food is great and served hot. Décor and ambience lovely."

  • "Reasonable value in Covent Garden, with friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. Food is mediocre really, but you can't complain for the price."

  • "Really enjoyed the meal and general feel of the restaurant, staff good and friendly, food good."
    dined on 15/08/2014
  • "Really good restaurant with great atmosphere in the heart of theatre-land. Food was very good: very authentic and hearty. I wouldn't say the restaurant would suit someone looking for anything too 'refined', but this was good food, in a great atmosphere."
    dined on 15/08/2014
  • "Booked here because of all the positive reviews and wasn't disappointed. Very attentive service and food was delicious. Had the mussels as starters and as main the duck confit with puy lentils and loved it. Would go there again."

  • "We had the Kir Royale plus two courses deal with opentable. Food very good, excellent service. Would highly recommend for a pre-theatre meal."

  • "Boulevard doesnt disappoint. I went with a friend for an early dinner and had the 2 courses. The food is always exceptional and the waiting staff are always polite, friendly and welcomng. We were sat by the window upstairs which as it was a lovely evening it really did feel like I could have been sitting in a french bistro in Paris."
    dined on 14/08/2014
  • "A charming and romantic little place right in the middle of theatre land. we went with the 50% off which made it a reasonable price. I have to say that without the 50% I t6hink it would have been over priced but that is common for the places in the West End. the staff were lovely, the food was very good and the decxor can cosy and inviting"
    dined on 13/08/2014
  • "The Boulevard Brasserie is one of my favourite restaurants for very good food at reasonable prices, especially as the 50% deal is available most days and evenings of the week. The service is friendly, never rushed and the staff always very accommodating. On my last visit, for a friend's birthday, we both went for seafood: Moules Marinières followed by Tiger Prawns in garlic butter. They were very nice indeed and portions were generous too. I always come back to this venue as I'm sure of a very pleasant evening. Highly recommended."
    dined on 13/08/2014
  • " The Boulevard is a lively, friendly and value for money place with no great pretentions. Food is plentiful and competently prepared. The short wine list offers a reasonable choice at good prices. We had the 50% off food offer which saved £29 and made the whole evening excellent value."
    dined on 13/08/2014
  • "For good quality food and excellent service all at good value prices, this restaurant on the fringe of Covent Garden is very hard to beat. I go about 3 times a year and I am always impressed."

  • "We selected this wonderful little bistro based strictly on location so we could drop in after the theatre. To our surprise we found a diamond in the middle of Westminster. Food was very excellent , tables were full of diners from around the world, and atmosphere was most comfortable. Price was very reasonable compared to other restaurants we eaten at in London. We'll eat here whenever we're in town."
    dined on 10/08/2014
  • "What a delightful evening. The location is perfect in the heart of Covent Garden and on this Saturday evening there was a great buzz everywhere with lots of people. Inside the Restaurant is an opportunity to observe the scene and enjoy the beautiful food. Two favourites: Fish Soup followed by Veal and a nice dessert to finish. I would recommend for the food, the service, the ambience and being at the centre of the London scene. To cap it I walked back through Covent Garden to Leicester square at about 10.30 - this was the cabaret - and what a show!"
    dined on 09/08/2014
  • "Good quality food that is not over fussy. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I'll be back next time I'm in London."

  • "The ambience was relaxing and very French and the waiter was very attentive. We tried the salmon cake and the sea bass, which were both delicious. Would recommend."

  • "Dined here as part of a group of 6. Really liked the restaurant. Lovely, cosy, candlelit feel. French doors wide open at the front. Definitely felt like we could be sitting in a pavement cafe in Paris! I had a steak which was cooked to perfection. Service was also very good. Highly recommended as a great option in the covent garden area."

  • "great central location, perfect pre-theatre deals -- good food, lovely staff... we went as a group and everybody enjoyed themselves!"
    dined on 02/08/2014
  • "We usually go to Palm Court Brasserie, the sister restaurant, and although the food was a good here we prefer the ambience of the Palm Court. Service a bit slow, considering it was 6pm so obviously everyone there was eating prior to theatre. We were ok as we only had one course but overheard others worrying about time. Had to wait too long for 1st drink. Moules/frites excellent as usual."
    dined on 02/08/2014
  • "A relaxing culinary interlude between the afternoon and evening performances at the Aldwych, food was tasty and there was no sense of being rushed. Not a large room or table so wheelchairs or prams would be a problem."
    dined on 02/08/2014
  • "Pre theatre offer with kir. Very good food esp beef. Will return."

  • "With 50% off we had a delicious meal that was great value for money. The service was brilliant and the location was great. Go go go!"

  • "Boulevard Brasserie is fast becoming my favourite restaurant in London. The food is excellent and the service is exactly as attentive as I would wish. This time we arrived a little later than our booking and had theatre tickets but the staff took note of the position and I was never in any doubt that we would make the show without any difficulty and so it proved. I asked when I booked for a table by the window and this was duly provided and the only downside was that cigarette smoke was blown in from someone outside, but this was hardly the fault of the restaurant and over all I would strongly recommend this for pre-theatre dining but suggest that reservations are made because they do get busy at this time"
    dined on 31/07/2014
  • "This was a good place for a pre- theatre meal and the Open Table deal was excellent value at £17.50. The food was good and the servings generous. There were enough vegetarian options to satisfy us and the vegetarian food was imaginative. the service was outstanding - the waiter attentive but not intrusive... a perfect combination! It was also cool inside on an evening which was a bit muggy. Excellent value and we are likely to return!"

  • "My husband and I were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. I had chanced upon the restaurant some week's previously, where I had had a fabulous meal with friends. As we were visiting London to celebrate, I had no hesitation about booking a table again! On both occasions, I was served by Gabriel. His attention to detail, his professionalism and warm welcome put us both at ease and meant we had the best waiting experience we have had for a very long time. The food was splendid! The parma ham and figs with honey dressing was sublime and I made sure I had the boeuf bourguignon again! Pudding, the vanilla mousse, was a little too sweet for my palate, but I persevered as it was delicious. We waddled out fully sated!"

  • "This was our second visit and we weren't disappointed. The food was delicious and the restaurant has a very nice ambience, we shall definitely go again."

  • "I booked a table by the large French window and I had a 50% off food deal. The food was very good and needless to say great value... the service was excellent....It was a warm day hence the French windows were open ...and it was pleasantly cool - the only slight distraction was the traffic noise. However a very pleasant place for lunch."

  • "Visited Boulevard after a trip to the theatre. Have been many times before. Always enjoy good food in pleasant surroundings. The OT offer makes the visit very good value. Would recommend."

  • "This restaurant is a must when in London. The food is excellent and the staff are always happy and willing to help in any way they can. If you cannot get a table I recommend Palm Court around the corner the sister restaurant, also as good."
    dined on 28/07/2014
  • "I've been here twice now and will keep coming back for their Sunday roast. Their chicken is brilliantly cooked and their potatoes and gravy are outstanding. I will definitely come back here. I usually don't bother writing a review but this Sunday roast is worth making the effort."
