A word from Boundary Restaurant
The restaurant's à la carte menu is based on classic and traditional French recipes, with a large selection of fruits de mer. The intention is to offer simple and delicious French regional food alongside quintessential dishes such as escargot à la bourguignonne or cuisses de grenouille, as well as the more indulgent treats such as foie gras, Dover sole, côte de veau and game.

Seasonal ingredients from the British Isles such as grouse, hare, asparagus and gulls eggs, together with truffles from France and Italy, are all included when available. Charcuterie, oysters, smoked wild salmon, daily-changing roast meats from the rotisserie and cheese are served from chariots in the dining room.The pudding menu always includes a glamorous soufflé and madeleines baked to order.

  • "Booked this restaurant to celebrate a birthday and were not disappointed. Nice food, ambiance and service. Starters were interesting and good for sharing. Main course of lamb was very tasty; pigeon dish with lentils did what it said on the tin and is what one would call 'classic French cooking', but therefore also less surprising / interesting. Cheese trolley and desert were perfect; nice selection of cheeses and a wonderful souffle. We were given good wine advice by a friendly sommelier and had a wonderful evening. We look forward to going back again, though it has to be said it does come at a price..."

  • "The rooftop terrace (the reason we chose this restaurant) was booked for a private function so we were not allowed to use it. Disappointed that The Boundary didn't let us know this little fact - seeing as their rooftop is pretty much their selling point. Therefore we went straight to the restaurant. ...in the basement... 3 flights of stairs south. The food was satisfactory. The table service was good. Just a bit of an anticlimax altogether."

  • "I took my boyfriend to Boundary Restaurant for his birthday. The food was amazing. The young male French waiter was really polite and explained each piece of the charcuterie to us as he cut it. It was going great. I'd previously told the staff that it was a surprise birthday meal and they decorated the desert plate at the end - a nice touch. However, after our main course, it seemed like we were invisible to our french female waitress. She wasn't happy that night and you could tell. The restaurant wasn't even busy. One point we had to go up and get her attention. It took ages. The wine waiter even joked with us as he had to take our plates out for her. The bill was on the table for about 15 minutes. Left a bad taste to a good night. Shame."

(we could see the bottle on shelf behind bar but it was not in wine/spirits list!!!) We did not pay £56 service charge because not good service. One hour between main course and dessert, A bill of over £400 very disappointing. It was my daughters 30th birthday- did not want to make a fuss"

  • "I've eaten at Boundary four times now and it has been consistently excellent. The service is so professional yet not over stuffy. Wonderful ambience. They have an excellent value set menu but they don't compromise on quality. The charcuterie is definitely a favourite for a starter. Overall it feels like the kind of place where you'd expect to pay a lot more. I'll be taking all my friends there when they visit!!"

  • "The seasonal menu varied in terms of the accompaniments to the mains, however, the scallop and the crab caviar with fresh baked blinis were delectable both times. My main the first time was the agneau (lamb) rack for two which was the most memorable lamb dish ever. The second time, I had turbot with wild asparagus and some multi-coloured tomatoes done to perfection. For dessert, not to be disappointed, the raspberry meringue with fresh berries was a feast for the senses. This time around, I had the creme brûlée which was the perfect texture with a super delicate and crunchy crust that was too hard to resist."

  • "We have been lunching here for the past 3 years and are never disappointed. The service is focused and the ambience is in a world of its own. The set Sunday menu is short but the options are enough to satisfy the majority of people (they were enough for my vegetarian friend and me the meat eater). We requested that we have a 15 minute break between courses which was no problem and didn't feel rushed at all. 3 courses for 26 pounds is unheard of here in Sydney Australia although the bill was far more with the 2 bottles of excellent wine we had. Looking forward to being reunited with The Boundary when I come back to England."

  • "I had requested a nice table for a birthday celebration. the waiting staff had organised this and wished my guest a happy birthday as well as providing some delightful chocolates later with Happy Birthday written on the plate. A nice personal touch. On previous occasions, I found the waiting staff do similar things to help you celebrate, which again adds a bit of extra to the overall experience. Food is lovely. The menu does recommend starters to share and 3 dishes for 2 people. I think only 2 are required, and for 2 people the charcuterie plate is plenty on its own - its also very tasty! Nice ambience, quite relaxed and doesnt feel busy with people able to overhear all your conversation. Another great night at the Boundary "

  • "The room is beautiful; the tables spaced apart so that you are not eating with strangers as in so many restaurants these days. The service is impeccable but the main draw, for me, of The Boundary, is that the food is delicious! With some restaurants, there is always a special buzz about going to them and The Boundary certainly has this factor. I would add that the sommelier is particularly knowledgeable. "

I booked 5 weeks in advance and had a party of 5ppl that I promised a spectacular view over London. After a 2hr train journey I was very disappointed to learn that there was also an underground restaurant that I had somehow booked. Be careful they are quite different in price and ambiance"

The ambiance is what sticks to my mind the most tho - this can be both a romantic dinner for two (if you request a seat in one of the alcoves facing the kitchen) or a nice group dinner with colleagues or loved ones (tho the groups we saw there on a Wednesday were more work-related). Not too loud but has energy, good lighting and great service. highly recommend."

  • "I should have done my homework and realised the restaurant in in a cellar - however the mood and ambience is good - the banquette seats are great for dining with a friend.. it was just a bit weird being in the one behind the serving station.. not much to look at apart from the staff bums.. They were good Our big disappointment was the food - lots of style but no substance: the quail looked great but was swamped in tasteless sauce with overcooked vegetables.. rubbery monkfish, very average blini starter - nothing special.. and it should have been for those prices and for the flourish that it is served with by the staff. It is a great place for business meals: . but not for us...we are happy to pay for great food - but this wasn't..."

Whilst trying to have a good conversation over dinner we had constant interruptions from the staff, who I am sure trying to be attentive but they should have read the signals better. Our head/lead waiter was also obsessed with us ordered side dishes, we felt like we had the hard sell to increase the bill size. I think they recognised the error in the end. The food however and the quality of the wine list was fantastic."

  • "Took my mum here for Mother's Day; firstly very impressed they didn't jack up the price of their normal Sunday lunch offer because of the day, and secondly very impressed with the quality of the food and the standard of service. I had the charcuterie to start (plate prepared at the table) and the beef bourguignon for main, and both were outstanding. Even the bread and butter was particularly tasty. Value-wise, at £20 for two generous courses this easily rivals even mediocre pub offerings on a Sunday, and was significantly better quality. Only issue value-wise was that the cheapest bottle of rose wine was £34. I would definitely eat Sunday lunch here again and recommend to others."
