  • "Spotlessly clean, very professional and an oasis near the theatre. The set menu had plenty of choice all of which looked very appetising. Large selection of quality wines.Attentive but not pushy staff.. Set menu plus a drink around £30pp."

  • "Bradleys is just around the corner from Hampstead theatre, in Winchester Road. The chef owns the restaurant and the standard of cooking is very high. They offer a 2 or 3 course pre/post theatre menu for £15.75 and £19.75. It was my first visit and I loved it, will definitely return"

  • "We went to Bradley's in Swiss Cottage before going to the Hampstead Theatre and had their pre-theatre menu which was excellent and very good value. I had the pea and asparagus soup which was smooth and delicious, and the cod which was thick and tasty. Their sorbets must be the best in London. It's worth going here just for the desserts. Try the blood orange or the rose and raspberry sorbet--really out of this world! We had an excellent meal and a lovely time. The waiters are very good."

  • "It has only been a couple of weeks since my last visit, this time for a pre-theatre meal with a friend. The set menu was interesting and varied, especially for its very reasonable price, and the food was delicious. The service was very friendly and attentive and I particularly noticed the calm and patient way the staff dealt with a fairly loud and completely unnecessary complaint from a nearby table. Even at this early hour, the ambience was welcoming and there were plenty of people in. Bradleys is set to become a regular on my list - in fact I have already planned the next meal with a larger group of friends who are really quite demanding!"

  • "Every time I come to the UK I have to have dinner. At Bradley's. The food is excellent and so is the ambiance. Highly recommend."

  • "Excellent food; our starters were oysters, fresh and delicious and red and yellow beetroot with goat curd, unusual and surprisingly tasty. Mains were fish, turbot was a generous sized tranche and fish of the day, a whole lemon sole on the bone, was cooked to perfection. An interesting extra side was the grilled cauliflower chimichanga, a spicy way to perk up that veggie. A great little local find, located slightly off the beaten track, but full on a Friday night so obviously discovered by many people."

  • "Have eaten there a number of times and enjoyed each time. They are very helpful & understanding with my food allergy. Last visit the dessert was wonderful - rose sorbet with other wonderful flavours - well worth paying the extra for 3 courses! Their fixed price menus are good value - but I wish they'd change the Prix Fixe menu occasionally as the escalope Holstein is OK but not what one always wants if the post-theatre menu is not right for my problem."

  • "Almost not worth telling the world about it, as I may not find a table when I need one!! The food is creative and delicious and the à la carte prices correspond. However they have a set menu which is absolutely affordable! Now that the Hampstead Theatre has become amongst the best of the theatres in London, this restaurant is full every day with pre-theatre diners, so booking is a must! I must not leave out the service which is first class too!"

  • "Good food and good value but the restaurant was very empty at lunch time on a Monday"
    dined on 07/04/2014
  • "The food was excellent, the decor and ambience were pleasant. The only diasappointing thing was although the service was prompt, the staff definitely thought they were superior to their clientele."

  • "Best value for money restaurant I have ever visited in London. Amazing food presented wonderfully, cozy atmosphere, great service, friendly and welcoming staff and reasonable prices. Will definitely be visiting again soon! From the main dishes, I would highly recommend the rabbit while the chef's own chocolate production is mouth watering."

  • "We always go to Bradley's when we go to Hampstead Theatre. The quality of the food and service is always fabulous and they're very geared up for the pre-theatre rush. I would definitely recommend to friends. My only regret is that we don't live closer to try Bradley's when we're not in a hurry."

  • "Bradleys is a little tucked away, but worth finding in its slightly unlikely Swiss Cottage setting. My most recent experience, last week, for Mothering Sunday was delightful. The restaurant is elegantly decorated and furnished with a small courtyard to the back which adds ambience. The seating allows for families and others to eat in discrete groupings so they don't disturb each other. The staff are friendly and attentive (except for paying at the end which was slow - this is so common in most restaurants now - why?) but not intrusive - a very good balance. Most importantly, the food, an extensive set menu with excellent choices, was varied, well presented and delicious."

  • "Bradley's know about pre-theatre deadlines; they're geared up to get you on your way. But the dining experience is also good, and the special lunchtime and pre-theatre menu is good value. This is a great place to know."

  • "One of the few places in London where you can have a three-course prix-fixe menu for under £28. What is more: lots of "extras" like amuse-bouches, a gorgeous selection of bread, which they kept offering us, and then a quad of delicious petit-fours were all gratis and home-made. I had baby artichoke with a punchy sun-blushed tomato & olive salad, he had scallops teamed with boned chicken wings - these disappeared with a smacking of lips. My selection of fish fillets on courgette "spaghetti" with samphire was light and well flavoured, he declared his lamb-rack perfect having ordered it "pink". Blood-orange sorbet was a stunning-coloured refreshing hit of flavour whilst his chocolate pave was a rich mousse-like slice of cocoa-heaven"

  • "Went to Bradley's before the theatre on the recommendation of a friend. The fixed price menu was excellent value and the food really good. Service friendly, helpful and attentive without being over bearing. Dishes on the menu were altered to meet the needs of one of the diners who can't tolerate too much cream and dairy - this wasn't a problem and the staff suggested dishes that would be suitable. I would certainly recommend Bradley's to friends and will be going again."

  • "Bradley.'s is long established in Swiss Cottage and can always be relied on to produce an excellent meal. We have usually visited in the evenings, where it is particularly convenient for Hampstead Theatre, but on this occasion I was meeting a friend for lunch. The food was as good as usual but we were almost the only people in the restaurant. This suited us well because we wanted a long, quiet conversation, but if you were expecting a lively environment it would have been disappointing. Evenings are much busier."

  • "Very good food, very good service, very pleasant atmosphere - all round an enjoyable experience. Thanks"

  • "AGAIN - A TRULY LOVELY MEAL AT BRADLEYS PRE-THEATRE MENU WELL CHOSEN AND PRESENTED. GOOD HOUSE WINE WITH EXCELLENT CONVIVIAL SERVICE"
    dined on 21/03/2014
  • "Excellent three course pre theatre dinner, rapidly and pleasantly served. Delicious rump of lamb cooked to perfection - seared on the outside, pink on the inside, full of flavour. Good wine by the glass, delightful pear tart alsacienne."
    dined on 19/03/2014
  • "An excellent Sunday lunch- the beef I had and the lamb my wife chose were beautifully cooked and presented. These dishes followed a delicious fish soup"
    dined on 16/03/2014
  • "The pre-theatre menu must be one of the best value deals in town and its so close to the Hampstead Theatre that it almost counts as an in-house eatery. The food is always excellently prepared and presented. The strength of the restaurant is definitely the seafood and the pollock was done perfectly that evening. Good selection of wines, wonderful fresh baked bread and friendly service. What more can you ask for?"
    dined on 13/03/2014
  • "this is my usual pre-Hampstead theatre place. and it never disappoints. great food, great service."
    dined on 11/03/2014
  • "We dined at Bradley's near Swiss Cottage before going to the Hampstead Theatre. The choices were excellent, and there is a very good pre-theatre menu. I had the oysters, which were delicious and the asparagus followed by the most delicious sorbet dessert--try the combination of lemon, blood orange and strawberry and you'll want to go back the next day to have them again. They really taste like fruit. Service is terrific. All in all, a great choice."
    dined on 11/03/2014
  • "My partner and I selected from a very reasonable fixed price menu. Very well chosen range of food in the three available options for each course. Size perfect. Came with a selection of outstanding home made breads. The restaurant was fully booked pre theatre. The service was prompt, attentive, personable without being intrusive. Lovely atmosphere. Intimate and classy."

  • "Ideal for the Hampstead theatre, either before or after. Excellent food and good service"

  • "Sadly food not as good as usual. Lamb tough and crepes thick and soggy. Disappointing."
    dined on 01/03/2014
  • "Great value set meals, especially the set menu (3 courses £19.95) and Prix Fixe (3 courses £27) as the food and service is of a high standard. Wine was excellent (yering Station 2010) but expensive so still ended up with a reasonably high bill."
    dined on 25/02/2014
  • "This is our fifth visit to this restaurant pre visit to Hampstead Theatre and the restaurant as always, adds to a special evening. The service was excellent, attentive yet not overbearing, and the food was an absolute treat. Anything chosen off the set menu was excellent. We highly recommend Bradleys."

  • "I have eaten here a number of times over the years and it is normally very good. We had Sea Bass and Turbot, and both were excellent, perfectly cooked and nicely presented. For desert I ordered a soufflé which took 20 mins. It looked perfect but was runny inside and I had to send it back. This is inexcusable at a restaurant of this quality (and price!). Although it was taken off my bill no mention was made of a goodwill gesture eg: a bill reduction or complimentary drink, even after I pointed out that the bill was incorrect (we were charged for 2 glasses of house wine when we actually had a half bottle of Chablis which was over £10 more). I like this restaurant but I'm not sure I will go back...."

  • "Visit this restaurant about six times a year and it consistently excellent. The menu has choices for everyone, on this occasion I visited with my daughter who is pescatarian and she found plenty of wonderful fish dishes. The service is always great, can't fault it."
    dined on 19/02/2014
  • "We enjoyed a very good dinner with excellent service. This restaurant is very good for pre-theatre meals."
    dined on 15/02/2014
  • "Nice but nothing exceptional or as good as a previous visit. Went for a Valentine night's meal and had the set menu for £32 per head. Choice was a bit limited with no meat dish for the main course and both starter and mains were served tepid and not hot. Total bill with service and one drink each was £50 per head and I have had much better at a good West End restaurant for less. Nice touch by giving my partner a long stemmed red rose at the end of the meal even though the rose had seen better days. However will give Bradley's another try to see if it can improve."
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "Really good choice for a pre theatre menu. Delightful space, maybe a little slow on service this time but usually very good. The food is delicious and their bread is excellent - try it."
    dined on 12/02/2014
  • "I regularly choose Bradley's for a pre matinee lunch with friends. We are always met with a warm welcome and the food is consistently good value of a high standard."
    dined on 12/02/2014
  • "We had the set menu which at £16.95 for 2 courses was very good value for food and service of this quality. Good vegetarian options too. This is available lunchtimes, pre-theatre and also Monday - Wednesday. Portions were not enormous but adequate. Bradley's is a cut above most neighbourhood restaurants and continues to serve its local community well."
    dined on 03/02/2014
  • "Bradley's! What a serendipitous find! Our party of 4 dined on a busy Saturday evening. Warmly welcomed by an attentive owner and staff for an exemplary evening. Starters included artichoke & ricotta tortellini and salt baked beetroot with goats curd, delicious and beautifully presented. Mains included superbly cooked fillet of seabass with curly kale and an exceptionally delicious aged fillet of beef with croustillant of shin. The recommended red and white wines were very palatable. To finish we shared some mouth watering desserts and a well chosen dessert wine. Our meal was not cheap, but neither was it particularly expensive given that we were dining in London. In fact it was one of the best value meals I have eaten in a long while!"

  • "We've been to Bradley's several times for pre-theatre dinner and it has been perfect every time. The food and service is fantastic and they obviously have it very fine tuned to get you served and finished in time for the performance. We live a little far to just go for dinner, which is a shame as it would be nice to sit and relax for a while."
    dined on 29/01/2014
  • "Bradley's restaurant near the Hampstead Theatre has the pre-theatre experience taped. With an excellent value 3 course menu for £19.50, it's was not surprising that the dining room was packed up to 2 hours before the evening performance and then deserted 10 mins before curtain up. The Modern European menu was more sophisticated than the price might suggest and the service friendly and efficient. This will now become a must whenever I visit the theatre!"

  • "This is a restaurant striving to be excellent but not quite making it. I had the Aged Fillet of Beef with Croustillant of Shin, Roasted Shallot & Cavolo Nero and it was very tasty but the dessert (Prune & Earl Grey Semifreddo, Walnut Crumble, Armagnac Ice Cream) was so sweet that I could barely distinguish flavours. The problem was not the food but the service: the staff were friendly but over-zealous. I have never felt so rushed in a meal in my life, was still chewing the last morsel of beef when the waitress took my plate. Since we arrived after the pre-theatre rush it was unnecessary to rush us to the extent they did, we were out by 9:30 well ahead of the post-theatre rush. I left feeling well fed but cheated of a leisurely evening."
