A word from Brasserie & Wine Bar Toulouse Lautrec
Bringing a touch of French flair to Kennington, Brasserie Toulouse Lautrec is a traditional brasserie and wine bar set inside a lovingly refurbished English pub. Managed by two brothers Maitre D’ Nolan & Head Chef Florent, whose parents have run the neighbouring “Lobster Pot” restaurant since 1991, so there is plenty of authentic French charm on offer served by people who love what they do. Set over two floors, the warm and inviting space is divided into a rustic ground floor brasserie and an upstairs piano bar with free entry to professional live music performances played every night.
Thus recreating some of the moments Henri de Toulouse Lautrec was recognised for.

Our concept is to make dining out simple, affordable & honest without the cheap thrills. Our menu is based on a simple & affordable pricing structure, making budgeting your night out a breeze.

The brasserie..... I took my partner for her birthday there after reading the super positive reviews in different websites. The place is a pub converted into a restaurant and despite the furnishings being a bit old dated the food was absolutely subliminal! The service was attentive (not always),but very polite and although (after talking to the manager) they seemed to be short staff they still managed to deliver a good experience! The cherrie on the top of the cake? The jazz quartet singing (by surprise) happy b'day on the roof jazz bar... Would I come back? Yessssss!!!

I really recommend this restaurant! It has a calm atmosphere and I felt like I had stepped into a quaint restaurant in France. The staff were friendly, service was excellent, great menu, food didn't take long to arrive, plates were cleared quickly but not in a way that it felt we were being pushed out. After dinner we went upstairs to enjoy the live music-such a great atmosphere!!

We visited this place for the first time for birthday celebration. The service was very friendly and the food was excellent. They had most food one can normally imagine in French place. Probably they should have bigger deserts list. There was also live music that evening. As we had birthday the singer kindly sang for our table which was very sweet of her! We really enjoyed the experience!

Great value for money - the 3 courses for £27 option was well worth it for the incredibly tasty food. Service was remarkably efficient and fast, as well as extremely friendly. The place has a huge amount of ambience, which is surprising given the location, but it was easy to ignore the fact that you're a 2 minute walk from Elephant and Castle. We enjoyed a delicious dinner, then fantastic jazz in The Loft - with wonderful wine and again, very friendly staff. Definitely reccomended

Whilst this restaurant is pleasant, there are frequently issues with the quality of service and staff not knowing/not understanding conversations or requests. Even though the restaurant was relatively empty, we still found ourselves cramped in a corner by friends of the entertainment. The food served, Supreme de Volaille, comprised a boiled chicken breast which was rather bland. But at the price, this is still a reasonable dinner experience.

On this occassion, the entertainment was playing on the ground floor, and was rather loud. Taking a table as far as we could, we were cramped in by friends of the entertainers who were doing the same thing. The service here was rather haphazard with staff either not understanding English or not being competent at their jobs. The food was of an adequate standard although we were kept waiting for different items supposed to accompany our meals causing some things to have to be reheated. When this restaurant is good, it is good, when it's bad.........

Went here with my girlfriend because she fancied some French food. We both loved it, the food is excellent, the service was very good too. The menu is not very big, but you get the feeling that all the ingredients are fresh and all the dishes made to order which is nice. They also have daily specials. At 2 courses for £22 the value for money is fantastic aswell. If that's not all, they provide live music throughout the week on the top 2 floors, we dined on a Monday and they had a jazz night going, which is an interesting twist. Overall I would definitely recommend this restuarant, I could not fault it.

This is the second time we've been to Toulouse, and both times we have had delicious food, with very friendly and efficient service. The cost is good - prices for two and three courses, and they seem to have music on most nights - although that happens upstairs so you don't have to partake if you don't want to. As it's jazz, which I don't like, we don't. However, we will definitely go back for more of the delicious food.

Lived not too far away for years and driven by frequently saying we should give it a try, had no idea it was a jazz bar and have never been a jazz fan, but I could possibly be now. Friendly relaxed service, fantastic food, nice vibe, diverse crowd and enlightening enjoyable live jazz all at a very reasonable cost. Have already started recommending it to friends and it's fun to see people react when you say you've found an amazing restaurant with great food and atmosphere in Elephant & Castle.

This is one of those hidden gems in London, as the food is beyond delicious but it's not packed and it preserves a super cosy, country-house atmosphere. They have live music every night and its stuff like jazz or blues, which adds to the super warm environment. But the food.. man, the food is just amazing, i can't begin to describe it. I've been there thrice and it's been perfect. The steak tartare is to die for, and just everything else is super balanced and tasty and just tantalising. I recommend it to anyone for the fantastic, unforgettable food and for a comfy atmosphere, nice staff, music and good value.

Mini homemade bakery basket looked burnt but tasted nice (except for the dry croissant). My bacon & mushroom omelette was perfect texture and delicious. Ate half before having to take son outdoors for a bit from his moaning. Returned and husband said waitress cleared table without asking if I'd finished; waitress offered to either deduct from bill or order half, I opted for the half but to my disappointment the omelette was dry this time. Would return to try other brunch dishes and maybe try their terrace alfresco dining in the summer

I dined at BTL Brasserie and Wine Bar last night for my husband's birthday, it was a lovely evening!. The restaurant has character to it as it used to be an old pub. The food was very tasty, service was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere in the restaurant was a little too quiet though, was conscious of talking above whisper level as the tables are positioned quite close together! Should have some background music! Great value for money with their set menu which has a good selection per course. At 9pm we moved upstairs to the Loft where there was live jazz music which was pleasant. And added bonus was that it is free to listen to the performance! Would definitely recommend this restaurant, we are already planning to return very soon!

We were the first to arrive at the restaurant and as admitted by the host , he was unsure that anyone would come on a Sunday evening. So he put the heating on and things got better... I would definitely go again, ideally on a night when I don't have to go to work the following day as the live music was great. It's got a good atmosphere and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly.

We really enjoyed our visit and would come back again on this deal. It's my new favourite french restaurant. The tt deal is brilliant and makes me want to go back more frequently. We had a lovely table by the window. I had the pork and my friend had the guinea fowl. The portions were generous and the staff were accommodating, swapping my black pudding side for green beans. I'm still raving about the cherry and almond tart. Great music afterwards upstairs.

I have dined at Toulouse twice and each time have been impressed by the food and the staff. The courses are all nicely presented (not poncey) and made using quality ingredients. Whilst this is not the cheapest place to eat, it is well worth the expense and the toptable deal softens the blow. The restaurant itself is a wonderful, rustic space and they have live music every night which creates a lovely ambience, however there are lots of little quiet nooks and crannies if you prefer to dine quietly. This restaurant is now quite high on my favourites list and I will certainly re-visit and recommend to my my chums.
