Diner Reviews
  • "DInner with a friend was fine and service good also."

  • "I booked this restaurant for a birthday dinner for my parents and as part of the booking I had made some special requests pertaining to a visual and mobility impairment of one of the guests. These requests were catered for allowing the party to be seated downstairs and even to exit through a side door to avoid negotiating the steps. Although it was a Saturday night the service was good with the drinks and food orders being brought promptly. We ordered off the fixed price menu and my requests for 'fat chips' to be served was accommodated- result! The food was a good standard and portion sizes were not overfilling. If I had to be picky I would moan about the size of the lemon tart dessert, too small for something that tasted so nice!"

  • "We celebrated my husbands birthday and the food and service and atmosphere was great. We will go back"

  • "Nice meal, quick service... but as nit-picky as it sounds, too quick! Would be nice to have a break between courses and also not be served the starter two minutes after ordering so you can enjoy a glass of wine! We were in and out in 45 minutes! Other than that, lovely food and great value."

  • "Excellent dining option centrally located in Halifax town centre. I had a starter of spiced crab cakes; a main course described as a 'Yorkshire Platter' and a lemon and white chocolate cheescake dessert, all of which were delicious and very well presented. While meat dishes are not usually my main preference I thoroughly enjoyed the 'Yorkshire Platter' consisting of 'mini-dishes' of lamb hot pot; sausage and mash and steak. The service was pleasant and efficient throughout and I was pleased with the value. I would have no hesitation in recommending this venue if on a night out or special occasion in Halifax or visiting the town."

  • "I am from the Hospitality industry, this review is honest and fair. This meal was a first date, the venue was chosen with care - out to impress.. We were met by a charming lady, she booked us in,assured me i had the table requested - near a window with plenty to see in case the conversation dried up - perfect start. Sat in the vibrant bar for a while before moving upstairs to the contemporary spacious yet intimate dining room. We both ordered the prawn starter, i had the best fillet steak in a long time and my friend had the wild mushroom and brie risotto, a bottle of rose between two. FABULOUS.The service matched the meal. Sixty quid for a cracking meal for two including a fair tip in the nicest of surroundings. SPOT ON.........."
