  • "Really great value and delicious food - three courses for three people and less than £70. The restaurant was quite quiet, but I have no complaints."

  • "Great food, portions not large so recommend ordering a side dish, unlimited drinks end once dessert is finished, but still excellent value!!"

  • "Nice French food, atmosphere in Park Plaza Hotel was good ( we went Sat night) Baked Camembert was good, plenty to share for 2. Fish gratinee was ok, not the best I've had but enjoyed it. My friend had scallops which she enjoyed. Didn't have dessert, espresso was a good one. Herbal tea choice a bit limited if you want one! Staff were friendly."

  • "My boyfriend whisked me off to london for a Birthday treat, after looking online for a nice restaurant near Westminster we stumbled across Brasserie Joel, and the Cote De Boeuf really caught our eye- and what a treat it was! Our experience was fantastic from start to finish. They really did look after us and made us feel very special. The food was superb so much attention to detail, flavoursome and beautifully presented. We wanted for noting, our waiter, Anthony was so attentive. Thank you to everyone at Brasserie Joel we will definitely be returning."

  • "Good food and service, im fact very good indeed for a pre theatre menu. Wine is good but pricey. Will definitely return."

  • "We took advantage of the fixed price pre-theatre menu which proved a great success. The offerings were imaginative and the portions were fine. Our first course salad was really excellent. Service was very efficient and courteous which meant that we were away in good time for our concert at the Festival Hall."

  • "Fantastic! Booked the £32 deal for four people. They extended this for us as we had the reservation booked for 6.45 we didnt end up leaving till 10pm. Only dissapointment was the sausage main it was very very small for a man - I was glad I had the fish. Penne was lovely too"

  • "Host was quite good, food was good as well but the service was severely lacking. So if it doesnt bother you to wait to order, get drinks and your food then try it. It is convenient for hotel guests and for Waterloo."

  • "I was a little nervous booking this restaurant for a birthday lunch,as I'd never been there before and the hotel restaurant status made me wary as to how good the food/dining experience would be. But my fears were entirely unwarranted. The restaurant is absolutely lovely, quiet when we went-romantic,chic,fabulously lit and the service was amazing. We had the three course set menu for lunch and it was delicious and filling. The waiter who served us was polite and friendly when we asked him what certain parts of the menu were. I was pleasantly surprised and would recommend it to anyone who likes a nice, relaxed, moodily lit, romantic restaurant with good wholesome, well-cooked food topped with excellent service. I'd definitely go there again."

  • "First time visitors having been to Menier Choc Factory theatre, my husband found Joel as a suitable eatery. Manager, Mehdi and waiter, Adam, were faultless. Somehow it was discovered that it was a birthday event and an unexpected surprise arrived. The manager found us a table in the music bar post meal and we felt well looked after."
    dined on 15/03/2014
  • "Food was unimpressive- very simple and bland, not authentic. However, we got the set menu with unlimited drinks which was £32 per person. This was good value considering we had unlimited wine throughout the night. I requested a table by the window which was arranged and much appreciated. The tables are not too close together and the ambience is quite romantic so good for small, personal events. I informed the restaurant that the meal was to celebrate a birthday and they kindly bought out the dessert with 'happy birthday' written on it- this was a nice touch. Impressive service- very attentive and polite."

  • "Taking a special lady to lunch at Brasserie Joel was a perfect experience. Service was warm, efficient and attentive, neither under or over bearing. The WHOLE SEA-BASS ON THE BONE was cooked to perfection, so much so my partner even devoured the skin! That was a first. GOATS CHEESE AND SHALLOT TART, and side orders of GREEN SALAD and FRENCH FRIES all sound run-of-the-mill on paper but were all taste sensations. Simple, and very very enjoyable. Portion size was optimal too. The ambience was cosily moody, and although some prefer a more buzzy vibe, I enjoy having more space in the place which allows for conversation. My Sister stayed at the Park Plaza which is how I came across Brasserie Joel, and we'll be going back."

  • "I and four friends visited the restaurant for dinner and all of us had a fantastic experience. We were impressed with the smart decor and friendly service. There is a great choice of food and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and I'm glad I didn't skip dessert! The waiter always made sure we had our glasses topped with the wine and water and was always nearby to assist with anything. The speed of service was great, we weren't left to wait for any length of time. The value of food matched the level of quality and class received, I thought it might have been bit pricey for my friends but none were disappointed and thought it was definitely worth the visit. This is a great recommendation either with friends or partner."

  • "I was looking for a place to meet around Waterloo, and this place fit the bill nicely! Early guests were able to wait in the bar area, which overlooks the Houses of Parliament. Decor inside the restaurant gives a nice ambiance, and the staff and food were good. We were able to take our time over our food, and the bill with wine came in at around £35."
    dined on 25/02/2014
  • "We enjoyed our pre-theatre supper, excellent service , good choice of dishes on the set menu and very good value for money . The staff were very friendly and attentive and flexible which was especially appreciated as one of our party had to leave early to participate in the play . A really great location , good access to all the theatres and concerts etc on the South Bank"

  • "Had a lovely meal at Brasserie Joel. Second time I have eaten here. Service is impeccable, all the staff are friendly and attentive. The food was good, would recommend the Pigeon main course, delicious. Only a minor thing, we ate really early, so it was fairly quiet and slightly lacking in ambience, you could feel you were in a hotel. I would definitely recommend it for pre/post theatre."
    dined on 01/03/2014
  • "I went with a colleague for dinner under one of their offers, 3 courses and wine for a set price. This is a hotel restaurant so the atmosphere "business". Food from the set menu was excellent as was the service. Only slight disappointment was that it sounded as if there was a different wine available for each course but actually there was only one white and one red included in the offer although both were unlimited. All in all very good value."
    dined on 27/02/2014
  • "I usually hate eating in hotels but in this culinary oasis Brasserie Joel is refreshingly different. With the TT deal it's excellent. I had a small but good salads nicoise followed by pigeon which was delicious. Managed to squeeze in cheese which thankfully was not straight from the fridge like last time. Slightly stilted atmosphere with awful Muzak but I will return."
    dined on 26/02/2014
  • "This was the first time we had been to the Park Plaza and Brasserie Joel. It has a very upmarket and trendy feel to it. The ambience was good and it felt very buzzy. The menu has an excellent range of choices and the Wine List is sensibly priced. The service was friendly and sufficiently attentive. perhaps the weakest part of the offering for us was the food which was average."
    dined on 22/02/2014
  • "Good food served by friendly attentive staff, would recommend to any one staying at the hotel to try"

  • "Attended with friends on a Saturday night had the unlimited wine offer. Food was great the drink was flowing and we had a great time, On a Saturday the restaurant was busy and there was a nice atmosphere i can imagine it would be a bit hotel like if it was less busy."
    dined on 22/02/2014
  • "We had a pre-theatre dinner (for Old Vic which is 5 mins walk away) and the waiters made sure we had all courses on time. Shame it is in the middle of a hotel/business centre which affects atmosphere a bit but both food and service were great."
    dined on 21/02/2014
  • "We ate off the set menu, 3 or 4 choices for each course. The cauliflower velouté was delicious, and the bream fillets very tasty and well presented. We shared a rose Charlotte dessert which was very move. The service was good. Highly recommended."
    dined on 21/02/2014
  • "It is difficult in mid-evening on South Bank to find a restaurant that is not very noisy. Brasserie Joel, a short walk from the action, fills the bill well. It has striking décor, the food is good and, for the area, it is reasonably priced. The service is prompt and there is a price-fixe menu for those wanting to budget."
    dined on 21/02/2014
  • "I instantly felt relaxed by the soft lighting, comfortable seating, piano music and the way the waiting staff looked after me. The food was delicious, although the portions were slightly on the small side - I could have eaten the entire meal all over again!"
    dined on 19/02/2014
  • "My partner and I ate at Brasserie Joël for Valentines day. The food was not bad, but no more than average for any good restaurant. The pigeon however, was a real disappointment, with one wing and one leg on a plate covered with carrot puree, there was to much carrot and not enough pigeon. The waiter seemed inexperienced, e.g. we got the champagne after the first course was served. There was no reaction from the waiter when we voiced our disappointment over the food. A service charge of 12.5% was added to the bill so there was no possibility for us to make our disappointment count."
    dined on 15/02/2014
  • "We had a good Valentines meal ,but the seating in the bar was poor, having to sit opposite your partner and lean fright orward to have a conversation... people were struggling with this. The live music was good in the bar and in the Restaurant."
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "I came here for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the food. It is reasonably priced at the current rate. I absolutely love the modern sleek decor. The offer of unlimited wine is excellent too and hope it stays at this price. Will go back there again."
    dined on 14/09/2013
  • "I spent a night out on Valentine's Day. The service and ambivalence were good but ithe food was so much expensive than expected."
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "We spent Valentines 2014 here and the restaurant did give a romantic feel. We got the special which covered 3 courses and the food was fantastic. We felt the waiter wanted to rush us and had to keep slowly him down in bringing out the courses but he did a good job and was helpful."
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "I visited Brasserie Joel having found the pre theatre deal through Toptable. The location is perfect if visiting the theatres along The Cut. The service was excellent and the food was very tasty. I would definitely recommend if using the pre theatre deal as the menu is a little pricey. Our final bill was more than anticipated due to the wine recommendation from the waiter - which happened to be very expensive. Would definitely visit again."
