A lively and exciting new restaurant and bar from the team at Gordon Ramsay restaurants and the home to a relaxed dining experience set in a large warehouse style space, drawing inspiration from the East London aesthetic that surrounds it. At the heart of the Bread Street Kitchen offering is an informal approach to dining. Guests can meet, eat and drink from early morning until late at night. Underpinned by great service and a menu that includes a raw bar, a wood burning oven and dishes from the lively open kitchen. Guests will also be able to take in the incredible wine balcony which will stretch along the walls of the kitchen holding no less than 2000 bottles of wine. Open from breakfast the all day restaurant offers an extensive wine and bespoke cocktail list alongside a seasonal menu. Diners can enjoy a lazy sit down over a cider braised pork collar and king crab cocktail or grab a quick ceviche of salmon with grapefruit, jalapeño lime and coriander at the more relaxed Raw Bar.Continued

  • "Went to the restaurant with four other friends. We ordered 4 starters to share. The scallop starter is a must try. It was cooked perfectly. I then ordered a veal chop cooked as medium rare with marrowbone and shallot sauce. It was amazing, juicy and tender. 9/10 The mash potato as a side dish is a bit of a surprise. It was so creamy and smooth. "

The portions were much more along the lines of a gastro pub, so that was nice to see too. My veal carpaccio starter was huge! The atmosphere was great too, all in all a very nice evening, would very much recommend it."

  • "The place is huge, but always busy which means there is a wonderful buzz and atmosphere most times. The decor and fittings are great, and the various table sizes means its perfect for small tete-a-tete to large groups of people. The menu is not huge, but has lots of variation, from fish, to vegetarian to the highly recommended meats! We found the food was well cooked, good sized portions and very tasty. The wine list is extensive, offering lots of choice from about £25 to hundreds.... Finally, we had a very attentive waitress but who never disturbed us, so our meal was eaten at a nice leisurely pace without feeling rushed, or without waiting too long between courses. I'd recommend a visit the Bread Kitchen any time!"

Spoke to waiter and manager about the music volume, but was told that other diners have complained about it too, but it is not possible to adjust it. How ridiculous, especially when there were young children dining on tables nearest to the stage which is at the front of the restaurant."

The starters were really tasty, but mains disappointed; a very salty mash under my cod fillet (which was quite nice itself), the lamb my companion had was a bit stringy, a far cry from the lamb shoulder I've had in Wales where they simply melt in your mouth, and sea trout which was tender but flavourless. Panna cotta was good itself but the rhubarb it was served with didn't taste very fresh (and it's in season now!). Overall, seemed like every dish that was served was almost good but was served with something that spoiled the effect! With a bill of over £200 (incl drinks and 'optional' service charge), I would expect a better quality meal. On the + side: quick & polite service and great cocktails."

This was my second time and both times the staff have been a bit all over the place and not very knowledgable and the food took some time to arrive on both occasions. We asked abut a wine reccommendation and the waitress looked like a deer in headlights and couldn't help. The food is good but at this price and being a Ramsey, I would expect more from the dining experience than luke warm champagne and dry lamb shank. My husbands mashed potato was heavenly though as was my cod. However - getting allergy advice wrong is BAD! Lastly why a £2 p.p. cover charge apparently for napkins - insanity!"

  • "The athomsphere is great. Very warnly welcomed. After seated the service is no better than a regular pub. No knowledge of the dishes, size of kids portions, wine recommendations etc. Unfortunately all a disappointment. Had the surf and turf with lobster and beef, the meet was dry, the lobster good, chips cold. Cost £35, not worth it. Staff ok, but not showing any energy or positivism."

Food is well done, service efficient, staff very good. Prefer the ground floor as it is more relaxed and the bar manager remembers you and welcomes you, though that is more for coffee/ drinks."

Perhaps at least one more vegetarian option for main courses would be good as one of my party was vegetarian and there wasn't much to choose from. Service was fine except pudding's were very slow; we were in no rush so were not troubled. However, completely unprompted, when we got the bill we were told we would not be charged for puddings due to delay -I was extremely impressed by proactivity and consideration shown."

  • "I suggested the venue for Mother's Day having been before and enjoyed the food. The food was great but the service was quite poor. We received the wrong starter and instead of apologising and offering to swap it the waiter's initial reaction was to say that was what we ordered. It was swapped in the end. There was a long wait to take away our plates after the main course and we were not offered fresh drinks during the meal. We ordered dessert and waited for 10 or so minutes to be told that the dessert had run out. I would, however, still recommend the restaurant as the food is good but perhaps not for an occasion as they did not seem to cope very well with a full restaurant."

The restaurant had a relaxed feel, the roast dinner was great and the childrens food was flavoursome (I often find it can be bland) all reasonably priced service was good and we didn't feel rushed would definitely recommend to friends - would be excellent for a group of friends/family gathering"

  • "Our visit to this restaurant was on friday afternoon, on a quiet moment. The entrance from the street level was little bit confusing as the curtains inside were drawn in front of the doors and first it looked like the door is locked. Closer inspection revealed that this is not the case and we managed to let ourselves in :) Staff was very helpfull and friendly from the start, except one of the waitresses upstairs was polite but looked like she couldn't care less and smile wasn't available on that day. Food was very good and followed well the mantra what Gordon has been repeating on his TV shows, basic, simple and tasty. Can't fault anything in it really, bit salty to my taste, but i don't use salt much anyways. Highly recommended."

  • "While I don't think this was the BEST food I've ever had, it was cooked expertly and was very enjoyable as a foodie. I will say, though, that the panna cotta was quite possibly one of the most heavenly, perfect balanced dishes I've ever had the pleasure to eat. I was stuffed after the main course and still ate all of it myself. I also don't know that I would consider the food to be worth quite as much as what I paid for it, but the experience was well worth it. The ambiance was perfect and I loved being able to see the staff cooking. The wait staff was outstanding as well. Wonderful! Very glad I came."
