Diner Reviews
  • "We visited this restaurant on Sunday of the Bank Holiday weekend and the place was pretty empty, good music though. The food was the disappointing part. We had the bbq wings, the fried chicken mix and the fries, followed by a sundae. The food was not tasty, just fried but no flavour to it, the wings were not hot enough and were dripped in the sauce. The chips were the best thing, out of hunger. The sundae was just a ball of ice cream with some fudge. Very disappointing food."

  • "12 small bits of chicken,3 fries,2 coleslaws,6 beers,4 wines,2 soda waters £116.10 !!! say no more. Mind you the Wailers playing in the background made up for it and we still had a good time."

  • "We ate at The Brooklyn Bowl before seeing a gig there, it is a cool place with a 'southern' menu and a small but good wine list. The food was good for its type, maybe served a little too quickly, but their limencello was revolting, tasted of soap, the barman insisted it was correct, but it was undrinkable and to their credit it was not on the bill."

  • "I came here with my boyfriend between bowling and seeing a band play at Brooklyn Bowl and our meal at the restaurant was just what we wanted. Out waiter was easy going, attentive and polite, we split a bourbon shake and he told the chefs we were sharing so it arrived in two glasses which was sweet. Our food was tasty, both choosing the pulled pork. Really filling though- I had to leave half of mine, which I was sad about because it was a bit more expensive than I would have thought. Overall we were both really happy, the atmosphere, excellent service and overall experience of bowling, eating and seeing a great band under one roof was a cool day out, so we didn't think too much about the ££s"

  • "The food was pretty good American fare with a decent selection of local beers from Meantime. The only thing that let it down was the service. The staff were very friendly, but just very inattentive. It took a while to place our order, we had to request tap water three times before it arrived, there was no follow-up to check if the food was OK, and then I spent about 10 minutes trying to get somebody's attention to request the bill. To their credit, when the bill did arrive, the waiter was quite happy to remove the 12.5% service charge. However, for a more authentic "American" experience, I would expect more attentive service, ideally from a single server assigned to the table, rather than having to flag down whomever was passing."

  • "Dined here pre-concert and found the service and atmosphere to be great. The menu was reasonably varied and our cocktails excellent! Plan to visit again with children who will enjoy."

  • "Husband had calamari which was beautifully cooked followed by the ribs which were stunning. I had hummus , followed by the Cajun fish which was also lovely. They sell prosecco by the glass which always makes me happy! If anything the service was too quick, had only just finished our starter when mains arrived. The place has a great buzzy feel. Went for dinner before a concert but you can also do bowling or get tickets for bands in the Brooklyn Bowl, cool place."

  • "Dandy Warhols were playing the Brooklyn Bowl which is a great little intimate gig space so we decided to eat in the adjoining restaurant beforehand. Had fried chicken with sides which was good. You can here the concert from the restaurant so if you're not too bothered about actually seeing the band you can listen for free, possibly the reason the door staff didn't bother checking our tickets as we walked through from the restaurant to the gig space. Toilets were well designed and clean; also to note, the bartenders in the gig area don't measure the spirits. Would definitely revisit for for the food and music. There are also bowling lanes on site."

  • "Great menu with lots of delicious things to consume and we had a table facing the stage - also had tickets for the show which means a wristband offering 50% off certain house beverages both in the restaurant AND in the live venue. Enjoyed the pork sliders a lot - and drank way too much champagne (Mercier is the house drop, I might be allergic) The maitre-D on Sat night was super helpful and friendly. Would recommend."

  • "We chose to eat at the Brooklyn Bowl because we were seeing The Dandy Warhols. I liked the room, décor and music . The food was perfectly serviceable and not expensive but the service was very disorganised."

  • "The food was ok but the service was the worst I had come across - so much so for the first time ever I asked a restaurant to remove the service charge. We were seated, but received no menus. A waitress then came over and asked to take our order we told her we had no menu; her response was to walk away . We asked another waitress for a menu who asked why we had seated ourselves (we hadn't). Our main course arrived while we were still eating our starter. The waitress then tried to take our starter while we were part way through - not once but three times! When I paused part way through my main to have a drink she tried to take that too even though I'd eaten less than half . Overall the experience resulted in a poor and unenjoyable meal."

  • "The service was good and the food was enjoyable however we were very disappointed to find out that the restaurant were completely out of chicken breast which is a huge part of there menu."

  • "Excellent venue. Good food, good music, excellently designed space. bowling is a bonus, live gigs are a bonus. just the food alone will keep me going back.perfect for birthdays or any occasion infact."

  • "I m not a fan of the American experience but was surprised at the food quality food, very friendly staff and uncomplicated menu. I had the fish which was excellent. It is not the cheapest and I would categorise the prices as medium to high but then again, you get what you pay for. I would definitely come again."

  • "Staff were a little over enthusiastic, but we were served very quickly. The menu is laid out quite poorly and lacking basic soft drink options. The food was plentiful and tasted good. But no option as to how the meat was cooked meant it was a little under done for my tastes. The prices in the menu exclude VAT which isn't usual and although probably stated somewhere in the menu it wasn't obvious. Meaning prices aren't as competitive as they seem. The bowling would probably be this venues main draw for group nights out. But as we only wanted a meal before going to an event in the main arena, we were slightly disappointed."

  • "Following being served our meal, which was of absolutely fantastic quality, we struggled to get the attention of our waitress and were left for a very long time without being offered any further drinks or dessert despite being a table of 12 with a bare table. They could have doubled their money in drinks alone had they even been around frequently enough to be asked and lost their service charge and tip as a result. It was embarassing for me as my party was thirsty and bored by the end of it having paid a lot of money for their meal."
    dined on 03/05/2014
  • "Service and ambiance was good but the food wasn't all that. I had the chicken dinner which was quite salty and dry and then the berry sundae which was just strawberry ice cream with squirty cream and a few berries. If you want American diner food there are much better places. "

  • "Me and my friend were so excited to be going to a restaurant where there are only a few in the world. However when we got there we weren't greeted in a welcomed manner, we had to speak to numerous staff who were trying to find our booking. We were also told that we would have to go and get some cash out instead of paying by card as the machine was broken. This interrupted our dinner and there was no urgency in trying to fix the machine. We decided on Brooklyn bowl also so we could stay for some cocktails after our dinner, however we chose not to because of our disappointing experience. I will not be recommending this restaurant to any friends choosing to go to a different type of place for food."

  • "Had a great evening for my bday. They did however mess my mums order up but they gave it to her on the house and made it twice the size."

  • "From when we entered, we were made to feel welcomed and were treated and looked after exceptionally well. From accommodating my sleeping son, to the food and drinks which did not take long at all. Even after eating and onto the bowling. We did not have to ask for anything or do anything. I would definitely come back here again and looking forward to our next visit to Brooklyn Bowl"

  • "Amazing value for money. I went with a group of 4 adults and 5 children and we all equally enjoyed the food and the bowling experience. I highly recommend Brooklyn Bowl. Make sure you get there BBQ wings. Out of this world."

  • "Staff were not very friendly or professional. We were not made to feel welcomed or valued customers. Ordered 2 starters with mains and both starters and one main arrived together. My partner had finished her 2 courses before my main arrived. Food was ok but presentation was poor and sloppy. We refused to pay service charge which had been added to bill, this was rudely questioned by staff as we left. We have no intention of eating there again due to this disappointing experience. "

  • "strange location. for the trouble of walking over to the back end of the dome, way out of reach of all other nightlife london has to offer, and then to be charged what looks to be dollar prices not converted back to pounds, is a bit of a bump. a plate of chips -£9, raw veg - £7..jug of 3 pints of beer £18. .. This needs to be addressed rapidly. Bowling prices also self defeating...really kills what could have been a good night out. I've recently been to the brooklyn bowl i williamsburg, and was hyping it up to all my friends...who couldnt have a good night as they were rushing bowling, or spending time trying to find the cheapest thing on the menu. .. • "I chose the Brooklyn Bowl as a place to eat before seeing Miranda Hart at The O2 mainly because it was one of the only restaurants in the area where you could actually book a table and my friend and I did not want to queue for ages only to have to rush our meal. Even though we were ten minutes late, our table was still kept and we were shown quickly through the restaurant which was nice as we got to skip joyfully past a very long queue (and this was at 5.45). The service was great, very attentive waiter that kept refilling our glasses of water and recommended a very nice (if particularly strong), frozen strawberry margarita. The food however, left much to be desired. Dry pulled pork and barely any fries, both severely overpriced."

  • "Took the girlfriend here for a pre-movie supper after shopping in the Capital, ordered the 1/2 fried chicken dinner with gravy, mash and collard greens with honey and bacon. Absolutely amazing and strangely enough works so well with the honey. Service was prompt and good at explaining what was meant by dark and white !!! Definitely recommend it to anyone who is in a hurry and loves American food !!!"

  • "This is the third time i have been there now and BB just seems to get better each time. There were quite a few in our party and they all loved it. One small thing, while the staff were attentive at times, we did have to encourage them over and it then took a little while for a couple of rounds of drinks to arrive. Loved the music and the ambiance. Absolutely will be back there."

  • "The resturant was noisy but it was a great atmosphere , the portion size were very generous American size! We wanted to bowl after this we couldn't book or put our names down until we had eaten so had to wait a while. This made the experience a little disappointing. Overall we had a good time and would go back, great idea to show what is playing at the 02."
    dined on 15/03/2014
  • "We booked prior to a show at 02. We went to see the later bands but there was a big screen in an open part of the restaurant showing the live show inside the arena- will remember that for the next sold-out show. Food was great- proper southern American fare- and I am from Georgia. Fried chicken was as good or better than anything at home, and barbeque also excellent, and Ameican sized portions. Prices were very reasonable. Service was also very good. We didn't have just one waiter, all the staff circulate through the tables and all are ready to take orders- you don't have to wait for 'your waiter'. As we were in a hurry to get to the show that was great, whenever we wanted service a waiter was there."

  • "The food was huge and pretty good overall as was the service. The bowling was quite pricey though."

  • "I found the food at Brooklyn bowl really delicious, the staff were really friendly and helpful. I would gladly eat there again, The only thing I would change would be the volume of the music as after a while I had a bit of a headache."

  • "We booked this pre-show at the O2. They took forever to bring us our food despite the fact it was not very busy. When the food arrived, they got the order wrong and gave one of us that was a vegetarian pasta with chicken. When we asked for them to fix it, it took 5 minutes before they brought out the correct dish. That dish was ice cold and had to go back. 25 minutes later as we were leaving they actually came out with the dish. During this period, the manager came over once and offered free drinks - which also took over 5 minutes to arrive. Born and bred in Brooklyn, I thought this restaurant was an embarrassment to the name. The only good thing I can say is the waiter was very apologetic."

  • "Since opening over a 2 months ago, I have eaten at Brooklyn Bowl twice. Have tried the fried calamari, smoked ribs, beef burger and Southern fried chicken (their speciality) - all of which were honestly fantastic. You will not be disappointed with the portion sizes, if anything you may not be able to finish your meal (if you have a starter and main). Overall the service and atmosphere (good for a first date or out with friends) is well worth it. I haven't been bowling yet will be back with a group from work for a social night out. It's exactly what the O2 / South London needed desperately!!"

  • "Amazing food, fried chicken and rock n roll fries were divine. For an awesome fun night with friends especially for the bowling after it's a really good time"
    dined on 08/03/2014
  • "Food was good, very fresh and tasty. The waitress told us they were American style portions- they definitely were not and we are not huge eaters when it comes to portions. Do not order the pork sliders- they were very disapointing and dry. Everything else we ordered was good, definitely try the fried chicken and pulled pork. So service, we arrived and had to ask about 3 different people if they had our reservation then were finally sat down. All the staff seemed half asleep. They forgot to bring one of our drinks, on of our mains and totally forgot the dessert! No sympathy whatever. We also had to wait 2 hours to bowl afterwards. The service ruined our evening to be honest and would not go back!"

  • "The venue is great- big rooms, exposed vents, high ceilings. A live band was playing when we arrived, which was really loud if you are just there to dine. Therefore my partner and I moved to the lanes and ate while we bowled to make the most of the atmosphere. Definitely not a date venue! Bowling is payable by 30 mins rather than number of games so the price can add up. It is a great venue to go out with friends as it was a bit like clubbing while bowling and eating ribs! The venue seems more at home in Shoreditch than the o2 and it was quieter than I had expected (Thursday night). Food was classic American i.e. ribs, fried chicken, burger at about £16 a dish. Portion sizes are big and if you are bowling eat something not sticky!"

  • "Amazing day visited with Going to see beyonce. Great meal and service. Portions are large so be careful how much you order but staff do warn you. Lovely. Food is very much a heart attack on a plate. But would go again."
