A word from Butlers Wharf Chop House
With its stunning riverside location and views of London’s iconic Tower Bridge, Butlers Wharf Chop House restaurant just south of the river in Shad Thames provides a thoroughly British dining experience.

Head chef Gemma Hyjek's menu is a celebration of seasonal produce and classic British favourites: think Cornish mussels in Aspall Suffolk cider & leeks, roast red leg partridge with a parsnip puree and sticky toffee pudding topped with a dollop of Jersey clotted cream. Generous Sunday roasts with all the trimmings are popular, as is the famous steak and kidney pudding.

Head sommelier Ben Van de Meutter's wine list takes inspiration from the classic wine-growing regions of the world, alongside wines off the beaten track and an extensive selection of whisky, sherry and port.

For a relaxed and robust meal overlooking the Thames – including al fresco tables with breathtaking riverside views - look no further than Butlers Wharf Chop House restaurant.

I took my parnter here for his Birthday and we were both amazed by the quality and variety of choice on the set menu. The food was delicious and very filling, so much we struggled to finish off the desert. The service was examplar, staff were warm and friendly but also knowledgable about the food and drinks on the menu. I will be coming here again and telling my friends.

Excellent food and very attentive service were the standout features of our recent dinner for the 4 of us. Several larger groups raised the background sound levels as the evening progressed and the restaurant may want to consider greater separation of smaller and larger groups for the benefit of both. Overall a very good dining experience, and one or two of our group would go back again even sooner if there were cushions on the wooden seats.

I used to love coming here but standards have dropped. I mean we waited ages to get drinks order in and when we did they forgot about it! Lunch turned up but still no drinks. Different servers they all seemed rather rushed but it wasn't busy, Food was average nothing special there is better around and I won't be back in a hurry. Service charge is included and I hate that this is what's all wrong about the restaurant industry. Waiters have no incentive.

The food and service are always very good and we always feel its a treat to go there.

On arrival we were given the choice to eat inside or out. We were advised there were two large bookings so might be noisy We decided to eat outside and were shown to a table with a great view of Tower Bridge Blankets were given to us which weren't needed as the heaters supplied enough heat The service was great Both waiters were very attentive and friendly I think there names were Andrea and Gintare. The food was really nice and presented well All in all a very enjoyable evenig

We are a group of five friends who meet for supper a couple of times a year. It was my turn to organise and two of the friends that were joining me had never been to the Chop House before. They were under the impression that it was expensive so were delighted when I showed them the £20 menu. I got there a bit earlier and secured a table outside an enjoyed watching my friends faces as they took in what must be the most delightful dining view in London. As usual, the staff could not have been more attentive without being patronising or overwhelming. We meet for supper twice a year and take turns to organise the venue but after such a great evening we decided to make the Chop House our regular restaurant.

I went to the Chop House with members of my family ranging in age from 13 to 80 years. There was something on the menu to suit our different tastes. It was my mother's 80th birthday and my birthday too. I had emailed the Chop House in advance to ask whether they could supply a birthday cake and they did - we chose the cream and fruit sponge. It was exceptionally good value and very delicious. My seafood salad was delicious too and the slow cooked half lamb shoulder which my brother and I shared was the most tender, tasty lamb I've ever had. Staff were attentive without being intrusive and made our celebratory meal very special. Chop House is quite pricey, but worth the money and I will go again sometime

Having dined at the Chop House quite a few times over the years, I knew that when I decided at the last minute to take my wife somewhere good for dinner on a Friday evening, that I could rely on the Chop House to do the business. Everything went to plan, she liked it, which made me happy, and I was able to bank some brownie points for the future. Well done D&D.

We are in London for a few days and chose to dine at the Chop House. The whole experience was spoiled by . First;ly we were seated at a table for two in a row which was not as we would have wished, as all we could hear was the next tables conversation, and secondly the table was right by the door which was opened consistent;ly for access and to serve diners outside. Thirdly we were seated by a table on which the baby screamed for almost half an hour. We could not fault the food or service.

I enjoyed my main dish and we all enjoyed our dessert, but the others in my party were recommended the duck by our waiter. They didn't enjoy the duck because it turned out to be dry and bland which was feedback to our waiter but we shouldn't have been recommended a dish that wasn't upto standard like the rest of dishes. We were also disappointed that the duck dish said it came with chips but it was actually crisps instead.

Fantastic roast dinners on Sundays. We had four roasts and 3 out of 4 were perfect, but the last unfortunately was presented with 3 tiny (chip size) roast potatoes compared with the large fluffy roasts everyone else had, which left one disappointed! By the time some extra roasties were served on the side, we had eaten most of our meals ... However, the waiting staff were very good and acknowlegded the error and offered to provide desserts for free! Just a bit more attention to detail on the pass would ensure 4 or 5 stars. The food is not cheap, so standards need to be high.

We had a table which is one of many which has fine views of the River Thames. The service was very good and the menu offers a wide choice. The downside for us was that my wife ordered a main course of sirloin steak to be cooked as medium. It was nowhere near medium and would be classed as rare. The replacement turned out to be the same - rare and my wife was unable to eat it. Apart from that the food was very good. The cost of wine by the bottle is quite high. A very good experience. If you choose a steak remember if you want it medium to ask for it to be medium to well done.
