We sat in Cafe Mode for over 3 hours and we needed that long to eat the amount of food which came as part of the set menu. None of it was Heston B but all good solid classics prepared well with plenty of food and side dishes all served in a relaxed unhurried manner. If you want a reasonably priced long lunch catching up with friends this is the place.

We visited as Grandparents and adult Grand children. Menu suited all tastes and alerted by reviews we made it clear that we were on a time schedule for the Theater and we exited 5 minutes before our time plan. The member of our party on crutches slipping on small step at exit the door was held open but a mind the step would have been useful. Ideal as a pre theater meal but not the best dinning out experience.

NIBBLES-olives - very tasty; pistachios - had run out! But someone nipped out (to pub over road?!) and brought some in/STARTERS - king prawns juicy, nice rocket and ok piquant sauce; calamari - greasy batter but acceptable/MAINS-seabass - succulent and moist. Lovely aubergine, courgette veg side/- veg risotto - moist and creamy, little too al dente/DRINKS --- Peroni acceptable, not tip-top condition. BUYING HALF PINT costs lot more than pint/my wife had the dolce amore cocktail which was a nice bittersweet combo. MUST STRESS: at 50% off prices are fair - but full price definitely not worth it. Ppretty quiet, doors open. Friendly staff, but equally can see why there could be problems. Ok venue, if nearby & other places crowded.

Good priced food - we went with a taste card so saved half on our meal. The food was fine, nothing amazing, but we went to the secret comedy club downstairs afterwards, which was really convenient.

The service was appallingly slow the food was very ordinary it appeared that on waiter had an upset stomach as he seemed to spend a long time in the disabled toilets. Other customers complained while we were present and the staff appeared to be very disinterested.

We booked with the 50% off, the service was very poor and the food was awful. My wife had the steak and it seemed as if it had been microwaved. It was sent back and the second one was worse than the first. It does not always pay to go for a restaurant with a discount!!! would not return or recommend.

Went here thinking it would be as good as one by the same name on Endell Road. Sadly not!! Service very slow, not ideal when going to the theatre after the meal. Waiting staff not particularly friendly. Bill eventually came, but with £30 of another tables drinks bill. Took lots of explaining and sorting out,, Eventually left and just made the theatre on time...won't be going back.

We were looking for something in the theatre district that would meet the varied hunger demands of three generations, and Cafe Mode more then met them. Crisp, tasty thin crust pizza for our seven-year-old, spicy prawns for nana and papa, delicious, a subtle vegetarian pizza for mum and fresh pasta for me. All of the food (except for my daughter) was accompanied by an excellent red and white wine from their ample wine menu, and the service was friendly and subtle which is expected in an Italian setting. Dessert and coffee finished off the meal, and when the bill came we saved 50% on four meals as we had ordered both a starter and a main, and the Christmas special was still on--what a finishing surprise!

restaurant was tired and dated did not feel clean ,we were was sat by the window which was draughty,I ordered steak and my partner had salmon both were cold. the toilets down stairs were a mess the hand blower was missing off the wall in the cubicle with wires hanging out of the wall, all the spur sockets above the toilets were hanging off the wall. The floor down stairs was sticky and was in need of cleaning. The entrance was scruffy signs leaning up against the door and floor mats laying on top of each other trip Hazard. Complained to the waitress about the cold food who I must add was very good, but was not offered any sort of discount were given a free coffee though, I did not pay the 12.5% service charge. All in all a bad experience.

I and my friends booked the restaurant for a Monday afternoon and on arrival found we were the only one dining, however restaurant looked enticing (fairly modern) and we were welcomed in and looked after well all afternoon with good service. The food is mainly Italian and generally what you would expect from an Italian, however the prawn and pate starters were excellent and main courses of pizza, grilled chicken and lasagne all tasted very good with no complaints. Overall a good experience and if we are in the area again would revisit.

We were rather disappointed. We had eaten at the other Café Mode but this was quite different. The menu was rather more touristy than authentic Italian and lacked the nuances of herbs and flavours that we expect. We were glad that we had taken the special offer, so that we felt we had reasonable value. If we'd paid full price, we would have been very disappointed. Furthermore we were asked to move table as a large group had booked, but was larger than expected. Once we had settled at the table we were directed to (and we were thanked for moving), a member of staff kept disturbing us to fetch glasses for the large group. I mentioned this as unsatisfactory but nobody seemed to take much notice.

Lovely little restaurant, very friendly staff and the food was excellent. My friend was originally brought the wrong main but it was quickly rectified. Desert was especially nice, and as a vegetarian I had plenty of appetising choices. It's situated less than a five minute walk from the Royal Opera House which makes it perfect for an early dinner before a show.

This was probably one of the worst meals I have ever had in London. I'll start with the food - the starter was ok, but the main - I have had better frozen meals from a supermarket! The service was awful - the waitress consistently brought the wrong food to the wrong table, we ordered drinks - one came the other never appeared - but yet was added to our bill. When I pointed this out - no one even apologised! Cutlery was pretty much chucked on the table. The restaurant itself needed a bit of a clean there were small flies hovering around the table, and the background music seemed to be 2 songs on a loop. I would definitely not recommend this to anyone!!

In a group of 20, it was pretty much chaos. Having told them we were there for comedy and they insisted it they'd tell us when it had started, we were still sorting out the bill when I found out the comedy had been on for 15 minutes already. They also took ages to work out the bill, served people food at different times and were very slow serving the food overall.

Average food, average restaurant - and one that could use a good clean. If we hadn't had a 50% off coupon I would have felt conned. Salads were disappointing, pizzas were bland, plates were shallow (so smaller portions than they appeared), and the cheesecake seemed to be dusted with Nesquik. On the plus side, friendly servers and a pleasant atmosphere. I won't be going back.

The food here was excellent in terms of portion size. I would be surprised / put off by the prices if we didn't have the Top Table deal - they seemed a bit excessive for some of the items at full price. Recently tried out this place, as it offered 50% off for large groups. The food was really food, although be warned the risottos are massive, nobody finished it. The atmosphere was missing, rather empty, and although the service was generally good, we only really see one (out of three) that actually worked. Overall, a worthwhile place for good value dining.
