A visit to a restaurant i have not been to for many years. The food i had was very nice although there was quite a long wait between poppadoms and main course some 40mins.The restaurant itself has a good atmosphere and waiting staff were very pleasant.Do not like 12.5% service charge lumped on the bill at the end though. But a pleasant evening

Used to come here regularly when I worked in the city. Had not been for about 8 years! Food still excellent but decor and furniture very dated and in dire need of a makeover! The restaurant was full but with no mirror on ladies bathrooms I was just itching to give some interior design advice.

We are on a Monday lunchtime and it was very quiet and lacking ambience. Offering a set lunch menu might have helped here. However the menu choices and specials offered excellent choice. True authentic quality Indian food from the justifiably famous chef. We had poori and dosa to start then venison tikka and lamb dhansak. All delicious and beautifully presented. Homemade chutneys and ban bread also lovely. Would recommend.

First course was excellent; then we waited over half an hour for the main. It finally materialised after I started to put my coat on. There were only 2 of us, so hardly huge pressure on the kitchen, however one of the dishes was barely warm. Ho hum, lesson learnt - won't be going again.

The professional service was excellent and the knowledge of the menu and food brilliant. The food arrived promptly but not to fast, allowing my partner and I to talk and relax. The quality and flavours do not leave you wanting but if you are expecting the usual high street Indian restaurant then do not go here. Dishes I have never heard of and a great use of seasonal British vegetables cooked in an authentic Indian manner. Will definitely be going back with friends next time.

My wife and I booked ourselves a table for a quiet meal out while visiting London. We had heard about Cafe Spice Namaste on TV and read about it. Not a single thing to complain about, the food was excellent and the value for money excellent And more. We tasted different platters and all without exception exceeded our expectations. Often if a place is all hyped up it tends to disappoint, not a chance!!!

Had the £35 set menu starters were ok but only the samosa was hot and the whole vegetarian option was boring with little flavour. Bit of a shock to then have a 12.5% service charge added just for four people. Had been looking forward to going for long time and have been left disappointed by the value for money.

Enjoyed a nice meal on a Friday eve at cafe spice namaste recently. The menu had some unique dishes and it was hard to chose from! Good mix of different regional specialities. Starters were a little underwhelming by comparison to really really flavourful and balanced mains. The paneer shashlik was a good meal for one. The mushroom rice had nice spices and good texture. Also tried the Goan split pea dumpling in curry sauce - simple amazing. Dessert was the kulfi selection. Well presented and good selection. Better than most the brick lane alternatives (mainly Bangladeshi). Would definitely go again!

This restaurant is as lovely on the inside as it is on the outside. The menu is amazing with variety and history of the food selections which creates the intrigue of wanting to sample everything. They provide starter portions of the entrees should you choose which gives the opportunity to try several items. Fresh ingredients and creative spices make for a delightful experience. The service was a bit slow and our server was forgetful but overall worth the wait. The menu is pricey with even tgw chips bring charged per person so be prepared that the check will be hefty. The variety of hot teas was nice.

If you want something different to the normal run of the mill Indian then this will hit the spot. Food is of a high quality and well presented. The starters and the pickle tray are the best I have ever had, the main courses were also good but I felt mine could have stood a bit more spice but I was a bit cautious and didn't pick a dish with 2 chillies showing on the menu - I probably should have just taken the plunge! The restaurant has lovely surroundings and the staff were fab we even got 2 free glasses of prosseco as it was my husbands birthday.

We decided to have the set menu so as to try different things. The first two courses were very nice which included salmon, veal and duck Tikka. The main course came and we were so full it looked like we hadn't touched it. Not sure about the cheese and chili naan bread! The peshwarni naan was v nice though. Overall we had a nice meal and the service was really good. The whole place needs a bit of a refurb especially the toilets which were absolutely awful.

It had been a few months since we had been to Cafe Spice and we were certainly not disappointed! The new decor looked great, a little brighter than before but losing none of its understated authentic charm. The new menu was also fantastic, well lates out and easy to find the right thing for your tastes. The Honey Nann was a new thing for us and it was incredible! If you have not visited Cafe Spice you really should, the service and quality of the food are second to none.

This was my third visit to Cafe Spice and hubby's second. The food is delicious and a complete departure from your 'average' Indian restaurant. If you want to taste the clean, fresh and vibrant flavours of Indian cuisine then this is the place for you. We took the £35 set menu option as we wanted to try something different but knew (from previous experience) that the Gourmand option involves inexhaustable courses. A Bombay Bellini to start and a delicious bottle of Peppertree Shiraz complimented our food. The staff are attentive but not intrusive and very accomodating. Although they couldn't give me the recipe for the prawn dish they did lend me a copy of Cyrus' latest book and managed to find me a signed copy when I wanted to buy it.

The great thing about this restaurant is that the menu is not the same-old-same-old. There are innovative combinations and options which spoils you for choice. And the taste is so authentic. It doesn't get too caught up in gimmickry to forget about the taste. I really enjoyed the bhel puri (reminded me of Chowpatty beach) and the South Indian braod beans and coconut sabzi. The beetroot and coconut samosas were unexpectedly wonderful too. All in all a great experience with very personalized service. Really enjoyed our dinner!

An Indian restaurant with even more of a slant towards the delicate English palate. If you are expecting a good old fashioned high street curry with something a bit special you will be disappointed. Sauces were runny, curry flavours tepid, portions small, rose and cardamon ice cream good, bill high. Tried it, wouldn't recommend it, won't be going back. Sorry.
