The ambience will transport you right to the heart of Italy leaving you nothing else to say but “life is beautiful”. Diner Reviews
  • "Food was really lovely, staff were really attentive, would definitely recommend"

  • "It's a real shame but my pasta wasn't cooked and my fiancée had to send hers back to be warmed up. The service and atmosphere was top notch, but the basic food errors really let it down. Gutted as I was really looking forward to it"

  • "Recommended! The waiters are fantastic! The food was wonderful and we didn't expect a delicious Tiramisu to arrive for my friends birthday with everyone joining in for a song. Thank you!"

  • "A great ambience, made all the more enjoyable by great staff. You get first class service (our waiter, Carlos, made us feel very welcome and well looked-after) and get to enjoy some very fine cuisine in a beautiful location on the south bank. Sitting outside, the view of Tower Bridge is magnificent and just adds to the dining experience. This is an ideal venue for a romantic evening meal, with convenient transport options nearby (Taxis are in frequent evidence, and Tower Gateway station is just across the nearby bridge; there are also boats into central London). A great selection of wines to go with the delicious - not to mention filling - food leaves you with an evening to remember. For my partner and I, this has become 'our' restaurant."

  • "Went to this restuatant for my boyfriends birthday and it was very nice. The view is amazing, but due to the weather we had to be moved inside. The staff were very accomadating, very friendly and always there to help (particularly the bar staff). We was also fortunate to attend the resturant when they had there opera night theme which was very good also. The only downfall if I had to choose one would be the lack of variety of the food Would def recommend this resturant."

  • "Ottimo personale e soprattutto ottimo cibo! Raccomandato! Altro punto a favore: la super vista sul tower bridge illuminato la sera dopo le 21!"

  • "My family came up to London for the day to see my brother and his wife, and I booked Cantina del Ponte because our 5 year old is fascinated by Tower Bridge: I remembered that the view from the restaurant terrace is fantastic. The ambiance and food are great, but I am writing this review mainly because of the wonderful service we received from the staff at Cantina del Ponte. We have a 1 year old and a 5 year old, and eating at good restaurants can be often be so stressful that you wonder why you bothered. However, Fabio and his staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. And it wasn't just us - I could see that every table was treated with the same mixture of cordiality, warmth and attentiveness."

  • "A lovely meal , friendly and knowledgeable staff, a beautiful location. Very good food well cooked and well presented. The salumi board was outstanding. Spatchcock chicken was top quality and perfectly cooked, also huge. No room for dolce. The only small disappointment was the tomato salad - the tomatoes were virtually tasteless and there is no excuse for that nowadays. Four and a half stars overall."

  • "Amazing location to be seated outside and have tower bridge lit up in your views! Perfect for a romantic meal or special occasion. The only downside was the set menu... the mains were very small in portion and the selection was limited. A great place to come, but possibly for the a la carte menu as the choices were better."
    dined on 01/08/2014
  • "Although we had to wait 10 minutes for an outside table. The staff ensured we were not delayed any more than necessary and offered a fee glass of Prosecco. Food and service were excellent, the main menu had plenty of choice and would definitely return again. Views of Tower Bridge and along the Thames were a great added bonus."

  • "We had a group booking at Cantina del Ponte and they seated us outside which was great as the weather was lovely and we had nice views out over the Thames. The food was very nice, very good portion sizes, service was good and quick. The toilets were a little old and in need of refurbishment but were clean. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves and would go back again."

  • "Could not fault our meal or the service.it was a lovely day and to be eating with a view of Tower bridge cannot be bettered"

  • "We were attracted by the pictures of the tables facing the thames, we ended up in a table indoor without air conditioning. The pasta was good, the desserts were not good and very little for the price we paid. Good wine choice in the winelist, wine wasn't overpriced. My bottom line is: it was a crowded saturday and they filled the indoor tables with online reservations, anyway it's worth returning when not crowded as the view is very good and the food is worth a secondo visit"

  • "Spent a good 5 hours here with friends and had a fantastic night with wonderful views and great simple food."

  • "This restaurant is in a lovely location overlooking Tower Bridge. We had a table outside and spent around 2 hours having lunch. We ate the three course set lunch which is good value. The childrens menu could do with a little more imagination rather than just pasta. Overall the wine, service was very good."

  • "After reading the reviews and knowing the wonderful location, I thought I'd arrange lunch there for £12.50 per person. Went with a friend on a Saturday. Have to admit I was disappointed. Their so called non-alcoholic very berry cocktail was just a mix of juice and big blocks of ice, nothing fancy and where was the strawberry?! I opted for one main, rabbit pasta... Awful choice. Felt like I was eating minced pork, totally dry and very thick gloopy pasta that ended up sticking together on the plate. Big portion but no way was half of it pleasant to eat. My friend went for the 2-course lunch deal... Her starter was lovely, warm spinach tart... Soft, cheesy and plenty of salad on the side. Her main was terrible though, don't go for the salmon!"
    dined on 26/07/2014
  • "The food is nothing special here, not authentic, no attention to details: really not worth the price. For example even the simplest italian dessert -the tiramisù- was disappointing and the grilled chicken very dry. There is an opera singer performing during your meal which is a kind if kitch addition but can be pleasant even if very loud. You do get an amazing view from the outside tables, for me is not enough to justify the price. Also the staff is making fun of the non italian speaking customers. I won't come back: that's a tourists trap!"

  • "Visited Cantina Del Ponte for our anniversary and we are so glad we did. The restaurant is in a fantastic location, right on the river Thames, with spectacular views of the iconic Tower Bridge. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. The food was fabulous and our server Leo was so nice and attentive. It was Friday opera night and as it was our anniversary, Leo had told the singer it was our anniversary and she came over to sing for us. Due to its location you may expect a stuffy restaurant and staff. This place is so nice, friendly, welcoming. With great food at reasonable prices. Can't wait until we get the chance to go back."

  • "We are regular visitors of Cantina del Ponte; It is our go-to place for any occasion. The daily menu is varied and delicious. Yes there are cheaper italians but you really do get what you pay for; the quality is outstanding. The theme nights are entertaining and the weekend cooking classes are great fun."
    dined on 25/07/2014
  • "We booked a table here having found the restaurant on the internet. We were shown to a table outside (with marvelous views of Tower Bridge) but were not left a menu. This was at about half past nine. It was another 10 minutes before we got a menu and probably another 10 before we ordered. Strangely once we had ordered the food arrived almost instantly. I'm not joking - it was probably two minutes. Food arriving that quickly always worries me, but there was no need - it was excellent. Once finished it was probably another 10 minutes before we were offered a dessert menu. I was going to have something but no-one came back for another 15 minutes so we eventually paid our bill and left, So god quick food, let down by poor service."

  • "As many times before I took a visiting friend to a perfect place for a sunny day: Cantina del Ponte, in front of the River. We had plenty of sparkling water, a delicious spinach tart & salmon with roast vegetables (a bit overcooked) from the £12.50 menu. Then: excellent coffee. Friendly & attentive service. Busy but pleasant atmosphere around. I certainly will go back!"

  • "It is one of my favourite restaurants in London. So close to the London bridge, it's fantastic especially during summer months when you can dine outside. Ideal for special occasions, this italian restaurant is very romantic so you'd love to go there with your honey. Food is good (ask for truffles !), italian cuisine at best; dish are not so sofisticated, but very well served. Worth going there !"

  • "In the current climate (hot and sunny) this is the perfect location for dinner out in London, to be sat out, by the river at 10pm in short sleeves is a real treat! Moving away from the weather which cannot be relied upon, the food here is very good, the opentable offer made it excellent value and the service is very friendly and professional. Unlike the weather, in my experience, Cantina can be relied upon for good food and service and it is always a good choice. If you are lucky and the weather is good enough for you to sit outside late into the evening, the views of Canary Wharf and Tower Bridge are spectacular!"
    dined on 21/07/2014
  • "We enjoyed a leisurely lunch at Cantina, sitting outside enjoying the river views. The food was good and we enjoyed a nice bottle of wine. The starters were definitely the highlight of the meal - my husband and I opted for the chilled tomato soup and my friend had the sea bass, both of which were delicious. The atmosphere was relaxed and the service was outstanding. We were allowed to relax and catch up without being rushed. A lovely afternoon. We will definitely be coming back."

  • "We had a thoroughly enjoyable lunch at Cantina del Ponte with friends, it isn't cheap but it's perfect for a special occasion. We sat outside on a lovely sunny day and had a perfect view of Tower Bridge and the Thames. The service was excellent. Would recommend it for a special lunch in great surroundings."

  • "I surprised a friend for their birthday as a treat. We had a great night out & the food was very good. As an added bonus a lady sung some opera & the atmosphere in the restaurant was amazing."

  • "Date and I ate at Cantina del Ponte on a Friday night. The wait staff were excellent and we were treated to the wonderful surprise of live opera singing. The food was lovely, but neither of our mains (we ordered from the set menu) had carbs of any kind, which was a bit odd. A basket of bread fixed this problem. Great for dates and a wonderful view of the Thames as we walked back to London Bridge."
    dined on 18/07/2014
  • "We wanted to have a lunch by the River last Thursday and Open Table reccomended this lovely authentic Italian on Shad Thames! The food, service and choice of wines was great value and it had a great vibe wether you were eating inside or out. We opted for the set menu which was great but the a la carte looked even better. Go and try Cantina del Ponte soon for lunch or dinner."
    dined on 17/07/2014
  • "We ate at Cantina del Ponte on a lovely summers evening. We were presented with a complimentary glass of prosecco before being seated outside by the river. Food, service and location were all lovely."

  • "Me and my boyfriend really enjoyed to Cantina Del Ponte: good dinner, beautiful view and lovely romantic place. Very good customer service especially the waiter Leonardo."

  • "We enjoyed an early evening dinner at Cantina del Ponte, sitting outside on the riverside looking at Tower Bridge. The food was really good and was served with a glass of Prosecco, which was very quickly replaced when I accidentally knocked over my glass. The choices on the Open Table menu were understandably limited but all very appealing. The service was excellent, friendly yet efficient. I would certainly recommend this restaurant."

  • "Very good food, excellent service and a wonderful view. A very good option for a Sunday lunch."

  • "A really lovely restaurant. The service and food was lovely with an excellent view."

  • "It was lovely to enjoy a very tasty business lunch at Cantina. The customer service is second to none, the waiters/waitresses are all so friendly and accommodating (and rather good-looking I might add!) We went for the special offer of two courses for 12.95. I couldn't resist the offer of a Prosecco on arrival. To accompany this I had tomato soup for starters which was lovely. They serve it cold in the summer but I chose to have it hot. The salmon for my main meal went down a treat. Well seasoned and cooked to perfection with a melee of vegetables in a lovely sauce. All in all a fab lunch!"
    dined on 11/07/2014
  • "Having read some of the more effusive reviews I booked this restaurant and the table d'hote special offer. It was too cold to dine outside and the restaurant was busy and noisy- made more so by the opera singer who appeared at regular intervals and warbled through various well known arias & danced with willing guests. The food was uninspiring and disappointing my grilled chicken, parmesan and spinach was just that - very dry served with no sauce at all. The tiramisu was reasonable but lacked body. The redeeming feature was a very good Montepulciano to drown my disappointment (and help the chicken down). We won't be back. I'd walk the extra hundred metres and go to The Blue Print Cafe in the Design Museum - great views & far better food."
