A word from Casa Brindisa
Casa Brindisa is a stylish Spanish tapas restaurant that brings a little taste of Spain to the museum-lined streets of South Kensington. Light and airy, but also with a terrace on the newly pedestrianised Exhibition Road where diners can watch the world go by, Casa Brindisa is the ideal spot for after work drinks, family suppers, business dates and romantic meals. The restaurant's menu includes traditional tapas dishes and specialities inspired by cuisine of Catalonia, the home of head chef Leo Rivera.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Overall food was good (esp octopus leg) but service was sooo poor - many waiters/waitresses it seemed but couldnt get anyone to pay attention, food very very slow to get out to us. Guests in from out of of town were not impressed! Tapas quite expensive given size of portions. Food was nice but due to above won't be back."

  • "I ate here with my husband on a weeknight because it is close to both of our offices as well as our flat. Pimms drinks were delicious! The menu was good- patatas bravas and padron peppers as the staples, and we had the lamb cutlets as well. There wasn't much of a WOW factor, though. We sat outside, which was open & casual, felt like a great way to take advantage of London sunshine!"

  • "the service could do with some improvement... - first waiter was border rude when we asked for a table outside - our waitress was very nice but didn't come back for drinks for about 20 mn"

  • "Pleasant tapas at an outdoor table on a warm evening, a stone's throw from South Kensington Station and most convenient for a stop-off before a Prom at the Royal Albert Hall; willing friendly service and very good value; iced water on constant supply."

  • "Getting the balance right in a tapas restaurant is difficult: reasonable food, fast service and vibrant atmosphere. Casa Brindisa gets it right in most ways and is better than many in Spain itself. Whilst you can't expect gourmet food in tapas form, the dishes are well prepared and presented. The ambience was llively if typically noisy. The service was efficient but should have been friendlier to match the best in Spain. But what about the bread? In Spain it's unlimited and olive oil always available. Casa Brindisa proves mean here and you don't leave the restaurant thinking "that was really good value" as you usually do in Spain."

  • "Always a warm welcome at Brindisa and delicious food. You can have as much or as little as you wish from the menu of tapas and main dishes. Our table near the window was cool and comfortable. Most of the othr diners were Spanish-speaking so it felt like a mini-holiday. The many children were well catered for and there was a nice family atmosphere."

  • "Good food in a very lively atmosphere. Friendly and reasonably prompt service, given the restaurant was full. Considerably more expensive for the same sort of taps you'd get in a Madrid taperia, but would recommend for special occasions."

  • "best Spanish offering in London. Love South Ken vibe."

  • "Fantastic food as always, however the staff look like they work against the clock and whoever gets there table out the quickest wins a prize! We had a staff member remove a chair without even asking/looking at the table in a very swift motion which hit me quite hard and he did not even apologise, another just walkd into my friends chair and pushed her forward and did not even apologise... so all in all service is bad but food is great."

  • "had a wonderful time. food was great and great value"

  • "We were a group of 7 women - all fairly hopeless about turning up on time and then wanting to sit outside. The waitress couldn't have been more accommodating and kind. There are constraints about how many people can sit out and for how late, this was very well managed. We had a great night, with delicious food that arrived perfectly on time. I will keep going back!"

  • "The food is delicious, better than Barcelona! Service is friendly and efficient, the atmosphere is loud and vibrant"

  • "A warm welcome and attentive service got our most recent visit off to a great start. The drinks list, especially wine and sherry, is really tempting, and there are plenty of lighter plates like pan tostado and padron peppers to help amuse you while pondering the more serious options. Staff are very happy to take orders for a few dishes at a time, just like a Spanish tapas bar. Everything has an authentic feel, and the flavours are much more Madrid than London. A real treat, but prices mean the bill can easily mount up. That said, we don't begrudge the Brindisa team a penny."

  • "If you are looking for really authentic good quality Spanish food, this is the place. Simply they cannot go wrong because they source very high quality ingredients. An extenive and good quality wine list with good options by the glass, as well as sherries, olorosos, amontillados and manzanillas but do try one (or two) of their outstanding dry martini options if you feel so inclined."
    dined on 11/07/2014
  • "I have eaten a few times at Casa Brindisa and the quality of the food is always good. The service was a bit 'hit and miss' on this occasion so perhaps they were just having a bad night. I would definitely go there again though and I would recommend it to others."

  • "A new chef perhaps....?? Need to get those flavours going again! The one in borough Market is far more superior."
    dined on 09/07/2014
  • "The food was truly excellent and nothing disappointed. The service was prompt , friendly be and attentive with reasons for delay explained eg this dish takes longer to cook so will come later We were five golden oldies who find noisy environments difficult to hear and to talk and the hard surfaces as in almost all restaurants these days did make our conversation fragmented"

  • "On the recommendation of a work colleague, I booked Casa Brindisa as the venue for a Summer evening out with a group of friends. The central location was the main driver, with us all coming from different directions but the food proved very acceptable too! We were a large enough group to make tapas a good option, giving us the opportunity to try 'a bit of everything', with both vegetarians & meat-eaters well catered for and the cost of the more expensive options - such as the excellent beef - being spread across the total bill. All the dishes were tasty with one or two stand-outs and unusual combinations - the salt cod with cherries proving a particular hit. Service was friendly & efficient, even on quite a busy night."

  • "Chose Brindisa for a pre-theatre dinner before seeing a show at Royal Albert Hall. Excellent location and delicious food. Best Tapas I have found in London!"

  • "I have been to Brindisa on many occasions, both for lunch and dinner. I would recommend the patatas aioli, ham croquettes, Spanish omelette, and the Monte Enebro cheese."

  • "I have been to this restaurant almost into double figures now - just so good. The food is yummy, the cocktails perfection and all in a very fun atmosphere. The staff are friendly, helpful and obviously love working here."

  • "We booked based on reading the great reviews about the place on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed! Very friendly staff & excellent food. The croquettes were to die for!"

  • "Lovely restarant. Great waiter. All our food and wine was of good quality and taste. The only slight issue was that we had tapas and the was huge gaps between getting the dishes. We ordered six lots if tapas and instead of coming together there was at least ten minutes between first and last. Lovely atmosphere"
    dined on 25/06/2014
  • "We love tapas and had a wonderful experience at Casa Brindisa. We arrived earlier than our reservation time after touring London and they accommodated us with seating earlier. The menu options had something for everyone in our family--meats and veggies. We had a relaxed and filling meal."

  • "Convenient location and wonderful service. Food very authentic and nicely presented"

  • "I learned about Casa Brindisa from an American friend for whom the restaurant and the nearby Victoria and Albert Museum are an unmissable combination. I've taken colleagues, students and my children to CB, and for all of them it's been a memorable occasion. The decor is basic and the tables and chairs rather tightly packed, but one can live with that for the food -- although as the excellent sherries flow, ordering food from the table in touching attempts at Spanish can mislead the genuinely Iberian waiters.! The meal can be expensive, but that's mainly because it's so good, everyone keeps ordering more and repeats of those great little green peppers! It's a place to eat if you are more concerned with the food than the colour of the walls."
    dined on 15/06/2014
  • "Brindisa sets it's restaurants a very high standard with the excellent Borough Market flagship. Kensington has the advantage if being able to book a table, but suffers from being too brightly lit. Our waiter was excellent and very knowledgable of the menu. The food itself was very good, authentic Spanish food. The Salt Crusted Sea Trout was the standout. It just wasn't quite as good as the Borough branch. If I need to book, I'll definitely come here, but otherwise I'm happy to take my chances south of the river."

  • "Casa Brindisa is buzzy and busy, with just the right amount of class mixed with a relaxed feel. A great place to talk 'shop' with business associates without resorting to overkill of stuffy, expensive restaurants. The staff are attentive and friendly but sense when to stay away. They are also good at 'anticipating need' which is rare these days."
    dined on 12/06/2014
  • "This was my first time eating at the restaurant. Overall experience was very disappointing. The food was ok, but the service was terrible. Took us close to a half an hour just to get our drinks. Also agree with other reviews that this is a very poor value overall."
    dined on 11/06/2014
  • "A bit disappointing. Highlight was a table on the street. But food was very expensive and small portions ( I know it is Tapas, but...). Choice was not even that great."
    dined on 08/06/2014
  • "All food came promptly, efficient and attentive service. But quite expensive way to dine! We spent over 50 pounds on a few shared plates and a few drinks, and my husband was still hungry afterwards."
    dined on 07/06/2014
  • "We had a good experience. The food was excellent, the service was good and prompt. "

  • "Went for tapas before going to the Albert Hall, food was delicious, really good service and lively atmosphere. Wouldn't say it was terribly romantic as the tables are a bit squished in together and we had a seat near the entrance so it wasn't very private, but the food was lovely and can particularly recommend the squid. Would definitely go back."

  • "Great food, impeccable service and excellent atmosphere as always. Definitely enjoyed ourselves. Pork cheek was incredible. "
    dined on 25/05/2014
  • "We booked this restaurant as we were going to a concert at the Royal Albert Hall and were looking for something low key, quick and local. The food was good, service was fine and there was a varied selection to suit all three of us. A good place to eat and we felt the value for money was excellent."
    dined on 24/05/2014
  • "good Spanish tapas with a wide variety of food options for all. excellent wine menu."
    dined on 18/05/2014
  • "The quality is good but quantity is so scarce that having lunch or dinner will result in too expensive meal!"
    dined on 16/05/2014
  • "We enjoyed our evening here. Food good and good variety. Good atmosphere, quite noisy."
    dined on 10/05/2014
  • "Hadn't been for a while but it was as good as ever. Particularly liked pork cheek and squid. Very busy but food came promptly and service was friendly. "
    dined on 10/05/2014
  • "This is a great place for lunch but I advise you to book a table. They have a smaller menu than their London bridge restaurant so you may not find your favourite tapas dishes but the food is amazing as always. This restaurant is calmer than London bridge and I would def recommend it. "
