A word from Casa Brindisa
Casa Brindisa is a stylish Spanish tapas restaurant that brings a little taste of Spain to the museum-lined streets of South Kensington. Light and airy, but also with a terrace on the newly pedestrianised Exhibition Road where diners can watch the world go by, Casa Brindisa is the ideal spot for after work drinks, family suppers, business dates and romantic meals. The restaurant's menu includes traditional tapas dishes and specialities inspired by cuisine of Catalonia, the home of head chef Leo Rivera.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Was keen to come here as knew of the Borough market reputation. Unfortunately although service was exceleent, despite it being a busy Saturday evening, the food really is very average and prices felt very high for what it was."

  • "A nice tapas restaurant with good food and excellent sherry"

  • "Great food & ambience, love coming here. The staff can be too quick to remove plates but service is efficient. If u sit downstairs the sir con is rather to efficient as it cools the kitchen. Ask to sit by a window."

  • "The food is reliably good at Brindisa restaurants. I'm not so keen on the interior of the South Ken venue. Great if you can eat outside though."

  • "This was our second visit to Casa Brindisa in a week, this time with some friends ahead of a Prom. We ordered some favourites and some new things (in the end rather too much) and the last items came too late for us to eat. The staff found a takeaway bag so enjoyed our Catalan sausages at home. It can be difficult to catch a waiter's eye when it's busy but the service is generally good. The food is all tasty and nicely prepared."

  • "We had booked a table at Brindisa for between Proms Tapas (as had quite a few others). The restaurant was busy on a Saturday night and we had to wait quite a while for a bar seat and then our table. The plates of tapas being carried past us looked great and when we finally received ours, tasted good as well. We'll try and go back when it's not so frantic to explore the nice range of Tapas and wines. A slight mark down for the service because there was no table when booked (or gesture for the inconvenience)."

  • "I go to Casa Brindisa fairly regularly. I love the buzzy atmosphere of the place, the food is always good and they have a great wine list . Staff are friendly and efficient."

  • "We visited Casa Brindisa on a Monday evening after a visit to the Science museum. Good job we had booked! It was busy and people were waiting for tables. We arrived a bit earlier than our booking time and were accommodated slmost immediately. The aevice was very friendly and the food was delicious! Except for the lamb chops, which were much mire expensive than they should have been. Not much choice for children, except maybe the very delicious tortilla. Will definitely come again."

  • "We were a group of 5 people and so we were able to order many dishes to share. The food was surprisingly delicious, and the service made it a very enjoyable, positive, evening!! Will definitely have a meal here again!"

  • "I've taken visiting family members to brindisa on a couple of occasions and cannot reccomend it enough. Go with a group and try as much as you can."

  • "This is the third time we have eaten here and its always good. We had a long and relaxed Sunday lunch with a great mix of Tapas authentically spanish"

  • "As usual the food was great. Service was very sweet. Restaurant staff do always seem a little overwhelmed during Prom season but we had a nice table and they served us quickly."

  • "We had a really enjoyable pre-Prom meal at Casa Brindisa. The service was faultless - friendly, efficient and fast. They even gave us a free cheese dish to try. Having only been to the Borough Market Brindisa before, where you always have to queue, being able to book a table was a revelation! There's an open kitchen in the back so you can watch the chefs preparing your food - always fun. The only pointer I'd give diners is that it's quite a noisy place. Everything is open plan so the sound clatters off the sides a bit. This adds up to a vibrant and lively atmosphere, but it would be more suited to a quick bite to eat with a friend than a lingering romantic dinner or business meal. Highlight dishes: croquetas, charcuteria, the sherry!"

  • "A wonderful place to catch up with friends for lunch or dinner. You can't go wrong here."
    dined on 03/08/2014
  • "Loved Casa Brindisa for authentic tapas and good service. Quite pricey, but would definitely go back..."
    dined on 02/08/2014
  • "Fantastic yet again although had asked for a table outside on booking and there weren't any available. Great selection of tapas, chose different options to last time and really enjoyed it yet again"
    dined on 31/07/2014
  • "What totally destroyed our dinner at this rather good tapas bar was the pushy waitress service. We were almost forced into buying an expensive wine, the cheaper ones on the menu heartily unrecommended, and encouraged to order far more than we needed. Certain things on the menu are a rip off - especially the mineral water at £7.90 a bottle! If you want great tapas in London there are plenty of places - this is priced for the tourists who go to the museums. Leave it to them."

  • "I had lunch at Casa Brindisa with a friend. We ordered a selection of tapas. I thought the Spanish tortilla was very tasty; the tomato toast was crunchy with just the right amount of oil; the chicken croquettes had more potato in than I really wanted; and the aubergine was delicious, with interesting seasoning. I also had ice cream for dessert. It wasn't a huge portion, but it was very smooth and creamy. The restaurant was packed full on a busy Saturday lunchtime, so I was impressed that the staff took the time to be polite and friendly."
    dined on 26/07/2014
  • "Overall food was good (esp octopus leg) but service was sooo poor - many waiters/waitresses it seemed but couldnt get anyone to pay attention, food very very slow to get out to us. Guests in from out of of town were not impressed! Tapas quite expensive given size of portions. Food was nice but due to above won't be back."
    dined on 26/07/2014
  • "I ate here with my husband on a weeknight because it is close to both of our offices as well as our flat. Pimms drinks were delicious! The menu was good- patatas bravas and padron peppers as the staples, and we had the lamb cutlets as well. There wasn't much of a WOW factor, though. We sat outside, which was open & casual, felt like a great way to take advantage of London sunshine!"
    dined on 23/07/2014
  • "the service could do with some improvement... - first waiter was border rude when we asked for a table outside - our waitress was very nice but didn't come back for drinks for about 20 mn"
    dined on 22/07/2014
  • "Pleasant tapas at an outdoor table on a warm evening, a stone's throw from South Kensington Station and most convenient for a stop-off before a Prom at the Royal Albert Hall; willing friendly service and very good value; iced water on constant supply."
    dined on 22/07/2014
  • "Getting the balance right in a tapas restaurant is difficult: reasonable food, fast service and vibrant atmosphere. Casa Brindisa gets it right in most ways and is better than many in Spain itself. Whilst you can't expect gourmet food in tapas form, the dishes are well prepared and presented. The ambience was llively if typically noisy. The service was efficient but should have been friendlier to match the best in Spain. But what about the bread? In Spain it's unlimited and olive oil always available. Casa Brindisa proves mean here and you don't leave the restaurant thinking "that was really good value" as you usually do in Spain."
    dined on 21/07/2014
  • "Always a warm welcome at Brindisa and delicious food. You can have as much or as little as you wish from the menu of tapas and main dishes. Our table near the window was cool and comfortable. Most of the othr diners were Spanish-speaking so it felt like a mini-holiday. The many children were well catered for and there was a nice family atmosphere."
    dined on 20/07/2014
  • "Good food in a very lively atmosphere. Friendly and reasonably prompt service, given the restaurant was full. Considerably more expensive for the same sort of taps you'd get in a Madrid taperia, but would recommend for special occasions."
    dined on 19/07/2014
  • "best Spanish offering in London. Love South Ken vibe."
    dined on 19/07/2014
  • "Fantastic food as always, however the staff look like they work against the clock and whoever gets there table out the quickest wins a prize! We had a staff member remove a chair without even asking/looking at the table in a very swift motion which hit me quite hard and he did not even apologise, another just walkd into my friends chair and pushed her forward and did not even apologise... so all in all service is bad but food is great."
    dined on 18/07/2014
  • "had a wonderful time. food was great and great value"
    dined on 18/07/2014
  • "We were a group of 7 women - all fairly hopeless about turning up on time and then wanting to sit outside. The waitress couldn't have been more accommodating and kind. There are constraints about how many people can sit out and for how late, this was very well managed. We had a great night, with delicious food that arrived perfectly on time. I will keep going back!"
    dined on 16/07/2014
  • "Where do you take a newcomer to London? Casa Brindisa ticked the boxes: no standing on ceremony, good but not intrusive service, flexibility (we were almost an hour early, but no problem), and so on. If it was just a very nice place to meet, and eat, and talk, that would be fine. But it was more. Food and drink excellent: we did not get bored, though the jet-lagged one slowed down after a while - these pauses did not ruffle any feathers. Casa Brindisa left a good impression on our visitor - of Spain, of Spanish cuisine, and of London."
    dined on 13/07/2014
  • "The food is delicious, better than Barcelona! Service is friendly and efficient, the atmosphere is loud and vibrant"
    dined on 12/07/2014
  • "A warm welcome and attentive service got our most recent visit off to a great start. The drinks list, especially wine and sherry, is really tempting, and there are plenty of lighter plates like pan tostado and padron peppers to help amuse you while pondering the more serious options. Staff are very happy to take orders for a few dishes at a time, just like a Spanish tapas bar. Everything has an authentic feel, and the flavours are much more Madrid than London. A real treat, but prices mean the bill can easily mount up. That said, we don't begrudge the Brindisa team a penny."
    dined on 12/07/2014
  • "If you are looking for really authentic good quality Spanish food, this is the place. Simply they cannot go wrong because they source very high quality ingredients. An extenive and good quality wine list with good options by the glass, as well as sherries, olorosos, amontillados and manzanillas but do try one (or two) of their outstanding dry martini options if you feel so inclined."
    dined on 11/07/2014
  • "I have eaten a few times at Casa Brindisa and the quality of the food is always good. The service was a bit 'hit and miss' on this occasion so perhaps they were just having a bad night. I would definitely go there again though and I would recommend it to others."
    dined on 09/07/2014
  • "A new chef perhaps....?? Need to get those flavours going again! The one in borough Market is far more superior."
    dined on 09/07/2014
  • "The food was truly excellent and nothing disappointed. The service was prompt , friendly be and attentive with reasons for delay explained eg this dish takes longer to cook so will come later We were five golden oldies who find noisy environments difficult to hear and to talk and the hard surfaces as in almost all restaurants these days did make our conversation fragmented"
    dined on 09/07/2014
  • "On the recommendation of a work colleague, I booked Casa Brindisa as the venue for a Summer evening out with a group of friends. The central location was the main driver, with us all coming from different directions but the food proved very acceptable too! We were a large enough group to make tapas a good option, giving us the opportunity to try 'a bit of everything', with both vegetarians & meat-eaters well catered for and the cost of the more expensive options - such as the excellent beef - being spread across the total bill. All the dishes were tasty with one or two stand-outs and unusual combinations - the salt cod with cherries proving a particular hit. Service was friendly & efficient, even on quite a busy night."
    dined on 05/07/2014
  • "Chose Brindisa for a pre-theatre dinner before seeing a show at Royal Albert Hall. Excellent location and delicious food. Best Tapas I have found in London!"
    dined on 05/07/2014
  • "The food here was really tasty but we found that it was quite pricey for a quick bite before the theatre."
    dined on 04/07/2014
  • "I have been to Brindisa on many occasions, both for lunch and dinner. I would recommend the patatas aioli, ham croquettes, Spanish omelette, and the Monte Enebro cheese."
