  • "My boyfriend and I booked the taster menu with 40% off - so still £56 just on food between the two of us. The food was lovely, and the staff were very friendly etc, but we felt very rushed. We arrived at 7pm and had been served all our food from the taster menu by 7.45, with the bill brought to us as soon as we'd finished eating. I enjoyed the meal but felt it was expensive even with the discount, and had we paid £90 between the two of us (before drinks), I would have felt quite ripped off. Nonetheless, the food was tasty and nicely presented and we did enjoy it - just a shame we were rushed out of the door in under an hour - the place wasnt especially busy so we didnt feel it was necessary."

  • "very good food and a very enjoyable evening, would eat there again"

  • "Once again Chino Latino lives up to expectations. This time we went for the taster menu and although there's a lot of different dishes, the portions are manageable and the variety of tastes means you don't feel that you're over-eating. We polished off the lot anyway! Great food, impeccable service, reasonable value. What's not to like."

  • "I had a few very different Asian fusion dishes all of which were delicious. The black cod portion was huge and incredibly tasty. I'd recommend that one to anyone who likes fish. The steak served on hot rocks is a novelty but be careful not to over cook the steak as I did which was my own fault. My only issue is the industrial style floor which damages the ambiance a little. Other than that, fabulous."

  • "Having experienced Chino Latino on a weekend in London, we decided to give Nottingham a try. The food was excellant and the staff were pleasant and helpful. The only drawback were the noise levels. This is not the venue for a quiet romanic dinner. It has to be said that at times we could not hear what was being said to us. I would add that it did not detract from the cullenary experience. Perhaps we were infortunate to book on a particulary lively night"

  • "Amazing food, great atmosphere, bit expensive with the wine @ > £90 per head but had a lovely party."

  • "The food is amazing especially the new menu , the staffs there especially Natalia and the toilets are clean which is really important for me . I can understand that it could a bit more expensive than other restaurant but it is worth for a good occasion . Love to go there on the 40% discount on tasting menu . Sam"

  • "My girlfriend and I decided to go to Chino Latino to celebrate graduating. We had been fascinated by the theme of the restaurant for ages but never really had the opportunity to dine there as it was a bit to expensive for people on a student budget. However, having had the opportunity to dine there it is safe to say our expectations of the food were massively surpassed! The modern twist on authentic oriental dishes tasted amazing with explosions of flavours in each mouthful, I can't praise it enough! The only aspect that could possibly top the food, was the service, which was also fantastic with extremely friendly and attentive waitresses. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for modern asian cuisine!"

  • "The tuna and chiles sea bass are some of the best fish we have ever eaten The dining experience was unique and highly enjoyable We had the taster menu and thoroughly enjoyed everything we tried The staff were attentive without being invasive Wine reasonably priced We will be back"

  • "We very rarely leave feedback but felt compelled to put the effort in at last after another fantastic meal. We eat out at least twice a week, mainly in Nottingham and have been eating at Chino Latinos for a number of years. The food is absolutely first class and only matched by the friendly staff and excellent service with Natalie, Sasha and the manager Jody always standing out for their personal touch. The menu has recently changed, the black cod tempura melts in your mouth and the scallops are to die for. We always like the sweet potato fries and the cocktails are some of the best you will find in Nottingham."

  • "We booked this thinking it would be very similar in terms of their London branch which is one of our favourite restaurants. The decor looks very poor and is a mismatched slap-dash affair that does not add to the experience. The food was just average and nowhere near the London Chino Latino in terms of presentation, or quality - we felt kind of let down thinking the experience would be similar - the only saving grace was the attentive staff."

  • "Price for some dishes are up, but quality is down."
    dined on 22/05/2014
  • "Distinctly average, I'm afraid. The interior was luxurious and the service was good but the food was average. I expected a much higher standard and the price is premium."

  • "From the outside it looked like the place to be, but then once inside did not meet our expectations, seats were low ( sofa ) the place looked dingy not nice, had to send the duck back to be cooked, wasn't asked how we wanted the steak or the duck breast cooked, came back with blood, we don't do blood, even the next time it came back still under cooked to our liking, staff were nice and friendly but for what we got over priced.."

  • "When shopping or night out in Nottingham the place to eat is always here. The food is to die for and the service is always with a smile. "

  • "We were disappointed with average food and service, the place is tatty also. To sum up, mega bucks for an average experience……………….."

  • "I know that you should not judge anything on your first experience , I don't think however that we will be going back."

  • "No set menu for 2 people. They said they used to do a menu for 2 and that people always still ask for it - call me crazy for pointing out the obvious but put the menu for 2 back on. We decided to go for the set menu for 4 to get a selection, they said they could do that and just give us half of what was on the menu - great, not so great was the fact they still charged us £45 quid each which was the same price as if 4 people were eating, so they halved the set menu for 4 but didn't half the price - I would say the price could justify the meal but the standard really wasn't great and the portions were so small we had to get a takeaway on the way home - way too overpriced"

  • "We dined at Chino Latino on a Saturday night. I was nicely suprised that the quality and presentation of food have improved since my last visit several months ago. We had a mixture of sushi, sashimi and cooked dishes that were all very tasty and nicely presented. The service was good despite being very busy on that evening. The atmosphere was happy and people simply enjoyed themselves. I would definetely visit again."

  • "They always get it right. Utterly dependable. Special mentions? Shasha and Natalie for impeccable and warm professional service."
    dined on 21/03/2014
  • "Maybe this isn't really a lunchtime venue but is was very quiet when we ate there on a Saturday at 3pm. Overall the food was good but surprisingly had very few veggie options. Maybe it gets better at night and the experience merits the high cost but for me it was overpriced with drinks being very overpriced."

  • "I dined here on a Saturday evening with my boyfriend and our friends who are also a couple. We had a fabulous time. The cocktails are great and the food was amazing. I really liked that it was 'tapas style' and we had a chance to try a range of different things. The presentation of the food was beautiful and so was the taste. The only negative thing I have to say is the temperature of the restaurant was very cold. I would definitely recommend going here and both me and my boyfriend will be going back again very soon!"

  • "This is the third time that I have visited Chino Latino. Every time the food had been fantastic and would not hesitate to recommend it"

  • "Booked here for a friday evening. Arrived, not more than 10 couples in 6 members of staff, 2 behind the bar. Despite plenty of tables we were shown to the far corner where we were crow-barred in next to another couple! The waitress handed us the menu and tried to explain but due to the noise and her thick eastern european accent it was hard to hear. 10 minutes later she returned to ask if we would like a drink! We ordered a bottle of wine. 10 minutes later it hadnt arrived. As we stood up to leave she came over " your drinks are just coming" My partner explained that the wait had been ridiculous and we left."

  • "The food was really tasty, especially the starters, and the service was efficient. I will definitely return for the tasting menus with a larger group. We were dining at around 6, which is prob earlier than most, but it was dead, we were literaly the only diners for the first hour, and even then only a couple if new tables appeared by the time we left, about 10."

  • "This is one of my favourite restaurants in the UK. We often travel here from Wales especially or detour when going anywhere in the general vicinity. It's not cheap but the menu is pretty unique and the food is always excellent quality. Highly recommended for adventurous foodies."
    dined on 30/12/2013
  • "A very disappointing meal. Wanted to treat my mum to a nice meal out and wish I had chosen elsewhere to dine! The starters of tempura prawns and scallops were delicious however the mains were less than mediocre. The monkfish tasted like old fish fingers and the Sea bass was bland bland bland! Utter waste of £75, would never dine here again, astronomical prices for hideous food and we left feeling hungry! My advice - don't bother!!"

  • "Came for a family 40th birthday, the whole experience was fantastic, food, service and price all excellent!"

  • "Excellent - as always! Our favourite restaurant...by a country mile"

  • "We chose Chino's to celebrate my wife's birthday. As she hasn't been there before, she wasn't sure what to expect from a fusion restaurant. As she is not a fan of sushi and sashimi, we looked at the fried and grilled items. We loved the tempura and ordered it again. The scallops ( x2) were disappointing as it didn't know what to do as a dish. The sauce didn't contrast well with the scallop and tasted bland. The Fillet of beef was the best yet. She said that it was as good as, or better than the wagyu beef we had abroad. Overall, a pleasant experience, but extremely expensive for what it is. I'd only go there for treats and dining experience. For those who want a full belly, be prepared to hammer the card!"

  • "Great food! The staff were friendly, attentive and able to recommend dishes. The squid starter was particularly good! Will definitely be going back."
    dined on 30/11/2013
  • "just used the restaurant for Saturday lunch and we were with our baby. Very impressed by quality of food and staff service, just £10 gets us full dinner of 4 options, not huge portions but just enough... baby was cared also by staff well. recommend to all."
    dined on 30/11/2013
  • "I do like the restaurant but it was disappointing that the taster menu for 2 was not availble, it was available for 4! Therefore we found it very expensive for what we had, But nevertheless we would go again but we would order with great care!"
    dined on 21/11/2013
  • "Delicious food with great service - the dessert platter to share is plenty for two (or possibly four!) and is highly recommended :)"
    dined on 09/11/2013
  • "When we arrived at the restaurant, there was an enormous group of men clad in fancy dress on a stag party being very rowdy and swilling beer at 2pm. Luckily they were obviously staying at the hotel, and they weren't staying for lunch. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant on some incredibly uncomfortable plastic chairs. The restaurant is a little tired, paint chipping off the tables etc. There was one more table in there, and 2 waitresses. The wait to get a drink was very long. The wait for our order to be taken, even longer. The waitress gave me the Sake menu, and forgot to take my order, and she forgot the duck roll we'd ordered. The only saving grace was the quality of the food, absolutely delicious."

  • "We visited at 5:30pm for the Bento Box, fantastic food and great value...It did used to include a glass of wine but now doesnt which is a shame as its the same price...Still worth the money though!"
