We visited this restaurant after having cocktails at the Skylonge on the 12th Floor of the same building. We ate early as we were going to the theatre. Food and service was excellent,

I booked the table as we were visiting London for the weekend and staying at the hotel so we did not want to travel into the City to eat. The food was lovely and the service attentive. I would definately recommend it although it was quiet so I don't think I really had to book to get a table!

we went to City Cafe at Mint Hotel for NYE. the food was delicious and the service very good. also the price was absolutely aceptable for a 4 course dinner. the only negative points: - it was hard to find as the Mint Hotel had changed it's name, which we did not know before and were'nt informed about in advance - the menue was served too quick, you had the feeling that they wanted to get you really quick through your dining to get the next people to the table. i did'nt get the point as there were many empty tables and it was some hours to midnight. maybe it was ´just the waiter's way. all in all, i can really recommand it and will be surely going there again

What a surprise... hotel food is not always good but the City Cafe at the Doubletree Hilton is excellent. The menu offered a good choice and the presentation and flavour of the food was noteable. Let's hope the chef continues the super offering as it's a convenient and relaxed venue in the city. The Skylounge Bar is also a gem.

Went to the City Cafe for lunch - advertised 2 courses for £12.50 but choice was limited - so went for al a carte menu - food was ok but overpriced. Service was poor - considering restaurant was empty waited a long time for drinks and food / gave us a carafe of tap water - we had one small glass each waitress then took carafe away. No ambiance to this restaurant at all - only one other table was there for lunch. One of our party had a vodka and orange - the price for this was £9.60.

Although the restaurant was empty when we arrived for a 1pm lunch, the food was delicious and service exemplary (and wasn't overly pushy given that they clearly had nothing else to do). If you're looking for atmosphere, this probably isn't the place to go. For good service and good food for a business lunch, however, we would recommend.

For lunch it was quiet which would be a boon to business men. Service though,. initially was a little slow - after rodering the wine - it took a long time for it to arrive, though they were attentive in filling up glasses. Food was very good. Staff were very pleasant

Not impressed. Told we could only have a 1.15 booking not the 1.00 they accepted originally but the restaurant wasn't busy, we turned up at 1 anyway and got in easily. Why City restaurants persist with this idiocy I cannot fathom. My food was OK, my companions did not feel the same level of satisfaction. Frankly, it was a bit dull. The big glass window makes for a nice view but oh my God it was slow, and they took our order twice! We won't bother going back.

very fine meal at City Cafe, but a little stressful as the temperature was not to my liking. I tend to enjoy meals - well most experiences - at between 17C and 19C. It was at least 23C according to my thermomeriasor, playing havoc with my respiratory and urinary systems. sadly the waiter offered little sympathy or suggestions. No chance of an after-meal coffee at that temp
