Diner Reviews
  • "The starters in the restaurant where the best part of our meal. The Thai curry is no where near being a Thai curry, need to do much better to get me to return. Not cheap for what is not a great standard in "Asian" food!!! PS The Maki rolls where the best part of the meal!!!"

  • "Thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the evening there. Service was good and food was exceptionally good, although I did not take to the seaweed salad. Certain to return there."

  • "we have stay 6 days in london and use tripadvisor to choose all restaurants. We went the for dinner on saturday. The rstaurants look well and the meal was good. But we went with our kids of 8 and 5, they look us differently when they saw kids and sit us in a table near the kitchen. It seems the dont like kids. After we ask 2 crispy duck , one for kids at the beginjing and one for us. They forget to prepared one of them and we get back to the hotel with the think that it was all because of kids. Perhaps its not the place to go with kids but its better to notice it."

  • "First time at the restaurant. The motive was to check out the hiring space so thought we'd have a dinner there. We were impressed with the food (bar the tempura prawn where there was barely any prawn!). Reasonable portions and good flavours plus attentive staff. "

  • "Did not start of well with erratic service, but recovered (no drinks when food arrived). Food was good although the chili sauce was too oily....asked for spicy food, it wasn't."

  • "Staff were so friendly attention to detail , for sure I will be back"

  • "Lovely dim sum options... And for main I went on to have the red duck curry which was lovely... Service was great, and all the waitresses recommendations I loved! A little loud, but it's to be expected with the bar downstairs!"

  • "I had a wonderful evening eating lots of good food. The sushi and sashimi were amazing. Definitely recommend the Himachi (yellowtail) sushi and sashimi and the dragon roll."

  • "Located in the heart of central London - in the buzzing area of St. Christopher's Place - this is a gem of a place. I went for dinner with a few friends on Sunday evening and was really pleasantly surprised by how good this place was. The ambiance is peaceful and allows for a relaxed atmosphere whilst the food is top notch. We tried 3 or 4 main dishes and am happy to say, all of them were amazing. Would definitely recommend this place."

  • "Great choice of asian dishes. We loved the seafood tempura the most, although all dishes were really good (we had about six dishes for two people to share). Good service, but skip the drinks."

  • "Booked this restaurant for a late dinner with my sister. Dim Sum menu was amazing with the prawn tempura a particularly good choice. There was an excellent range of options and the tempura soft shell crab was tasty and crispy. We had a good time and would definitely recommend the restaurant."

  • "This was the fourth occasion I have eaten at Cocochan. The food, wine and service are consistently good. The ambiance is somewhere between casual and formal dining. Fun for either a post shopping meal or a birthday dinner."
    dined on 20/02/2014
  • "Great evening at Cocochan, food, ambiance and service was great, the venue is small but very cosy making it great for intimate dining. Unfortunately as the restaurant was fully booked due to it being valentines day we were unable to check the basement bar out for drinks, but it makes it a great excuse to visit again. The King Prawn Spring Rolls, Coriander & White Sesame were delish!"
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "Went to cocochan on valentines day. It was good but they placed us in between other busy tables, whilst having other tables free, and the valentines menu which was on the website wasn't offered. Overall however the food was fantastic abs service was good. Would definitely recommend. Also, was kinda glad the set menu wasn't on as I could then have more choice. I just think it's important to fulfil what you offer..."

  • "Title says it all - all the food we had there was delicious, cocktails were great. But it was like trying to eat dinner in a nightclub - it felt really crammed in and the music made it almost impossible to hear anything without shouting, which everyone around us was. Highly recommended if you're with someone you don't want to have to talk to/see very well"

  • "Overall good food, nice ambience. Starters slightly small portions."

  • "Cocochan does not really live up to expectations. The food is very average and overpriced."
    dined on 03/02/2014
  • "My regular visit to eat their lovely dragon roll sushi but ended up having a full meal. The food as usual is fantastic but portions are tiny and do not justify the price. We paid £200 between 4 of us and still ended up hungry. I will still be back for their sushi. A loud group ruined otherwise a quiet evening which you usually expect at the restaurant. Shame the staff did not contain the rowdiness and shouting which was affecting other diners."

  • "The ambience was just perfect. The food was scrumptious... One of the best green curries I've ever eaten,"
    dined on 30/01/2014
  • "Food is always good and service fast. The wine list includes some interesting new world reds. It's a great place to meet for an after work or post shopping dinner."
    dined on 23/01/2014
  • "This is a small premises, akin to a café; thus it can get rather noisy. The dining area consisted mainly of one-to-one tables (banquette and chair) which is nicely informal but a bit cramped. However, the menu was substantive and the food was perfect for the setting. The flavours were well balanced and the portions were well served. The wine list was extensive, as were the choices of coctails and other drinks given that there is a small bar in the basement. This restaurant is an ideal venue for casual or light dining, it is definitly worth a visit if your looking for a place eat other than the franchises established in the area."
    dined on 16/01/2014
  • "Great deal via Top Table - not sure what it would be like without the deal."
    dined on 13/01/2014
  • "Great choice of dishes and good place for food and conversation. Music isn't too loud and staff don't rush you out."
    dined on 13/01/2014
  • "Pretty large fish bones in my maki and an overall just okay taste did not go over well with me (I love sushi and have eaten it all over the world, I know what I'm talking about). I like the variety of their menu but disappointed in the quality of the sushi menu. Not sure I will be back."
    dined on 13/01/2014
  • "Water started dripping through the ceiling. Fire alarms kept going off. Manager and staff were running around like headless chickens shouting and screaming . No appology , we eat the good paid full bill and left . Very disappointing , not due to the miss happ but because of the staff attitude of just carry on, not caring the dinners experience was awful during this"
    dined on 11/01/2014
  • "went in a group of 6 - place was busy with loud neighbours - food is fair but overall expensive - prices similar to ZUMA and ROKKA - place os suitable for a quick meal after a day of shopping in the neighbourhood - but be aware of the prices as it small portion meals do add up"
    dined on 25/05/2013
  • "Nice food but not that amazing.Overpriced. Staff were not smiling or in good moods. I wouldnt go again."
    dined on 30/12/2013
  • "All food was tasty and amazing cocktails. Service was a little slow (refilling of wine) but did not take away from the experience. Good ambiance and extensive menu, fushion done with fashion"

  • "Went for a Christmas lunch with my work team. It was a lovely meal, with plenty of options. We very much enjoyed that it was different than the usual kind of fare, and very conducive to sharing."
    dined on 17/12/2013
  • "This time the restaurant was half empty, but for some reason the service was offhand, slow and unfriendly. Duck with rice pancakes was a disaster- served dry and already cooled down."
    dined on 21/12/2013
  • "I went for a business lunch but wanted a more informal atmosphere within sacrificing the food & service. This ticked all the boxes. I would recommend."
    dined on 18/12/2013
  • "I'd say it wasn't one of my favourite asian fusion I've been to. It's very westernized. The menu seemed simple, dull and overpriced for what it is. Mixing sushi and chinese together didnt go accordingly. The orders I placed was something I can order from my local takeaway. Didnt surprise me I was hoping for great flavours into these dishes there was no wow moment. £45 for 2 dishes, side inc drinks and service charge. The ambience wasn't exciting, busy and music wasnt loud enough to create a buzz. I think the restaurant itself specialises in cocktails but " signature dishes" didn't inspire me to taste. I wouldn't recommend to my friends. Head to Chinatown for better value and food quality."

  • "My second visit... Glorious flavours and good variety of choices on the menu, however the portions are a little small.. Nice venue for a chilled out informal evening.... I would go again"

  • "This is my wife's favourite Thai Prawn Curry place and she drags me there on every occasion... and I gladly go along :) Yummy!"

  • "I went this week the 2nd time to Cocochan, we returned because we liked the selection and quality of food. We got what we expected and we clearly can reco the food. What turned out to be just aveerage was the service, as a party of 4 the food didnt arrive for all at the same time, the last had to watch the rest of us eating before she got her dish. We only got our glasses ( we ordered a bottle of wine - which was placed away from our table) refilled when we were asking for. Empty platres didnt get cleaned, extra requests did get forgotten. In sum I think we got a beginner in service. She was nice and friendly but didnt seem to have much experience. Food a 2nd time good - therefore happy to recommend."

  • "Amazing menu choices, delicious food...great ambience and service. Keep it up"

  • "We hang out there with some friends visiting us that where looking for an etnic but sofisticated place, and Cocochan pulls the trigger on that. We had a great choice of dim-sum as starters and then all our mains where well cooked, well presented and great in portion. As expected the place was busy due to the saturday night but you cans till have a great conversation without problem. Totally recommended."
