A word from Coq d’Argent Restaurant
Coq d’Argent Restaurant brings a blast of glamour and style to the City of London. From its penthouse position on top of the striking post-modern No 1 Poultry building, this smart contemporary restaurant offers classic French regional cooking to a mixture of City types and others. The roof terrace of the Coq d’Argent, with famous manicured lawn and sheltering parasols and chic contemporary lighting, offers stunning views across the Square Mile and a breath of openness and fresh air in the middle of town. But Coq d’Argent is celebrated for much more than its green, open space. Award-winning chef Mickael Weiss employs fine, fresh, seasonal ingredients to create dishes that are both classic and modern, like seared scallop on cauliflower purée with coral sauce, pickled cauliflower and pancetta salad.Continued

  • "great roof top location service wasn't goo good. dont think they had enough staff on duty - as was v busy!"
    dined on 16/04/2014
  • "Went for brunch on a Saturday and sat outside for a prelunch drink and then went inside for lunch. The restaurant was not packed as it's i. The City so expect much more vibe during after work hours. Service, food and beverage all great. Really good value and great selection for a brunch. Would like to go back I the week and get a little more atmosphere."
    dined on 12/04/2014
  • "Had the special offer here and thought it very good value. Unfortunately they forgot to bring us our starter. But as soon as it was pointed out the matter was quickly rectified and we were given money off the bill. So generally good service, lovely food and a great ambience. Would recommend."

  • "All round a good restaurant. Few areas of improvement but nothing major."
    dined on 15/04/2014
  • "My friends and I went Friday evening and had the set menu. I ordered lamb as my main dish and only ate a bit, the waiter asked if there was anything wrong and I said yes it was extremely dry, nothing was done."
    dined on 11/04/2014
  • "Really enjoyed our time. Appreciated the attentative service and great food"

  • "The location is fantastic, and the roof terrace makes the place. It's a little to noisy and full of post work drinkers to be a nice dinner experience on a Friday evening."

  • "Excellent lunch. Attractive premises. Possible to dine outside if you feel like it."
    dined on 10/04/2014
  • "Bit delayed getting staff attention when busy, but when you do get a waiter/maitre'd, they routinely demonstrate how to make your customers feel like welcome and valued guests. Food reliably good- won't rock your world, but of a quality at least equal to the bill. Offers are a treat at this venue."

  • "Every about Coq D'Argent makes you want to return, food, service, atmosphere, design, and experience. Run don't walk to One Poultry. We have been going at least once a week, and we are treated with the same sense of fun and welcome whether we spend a bundle on the pp dishes, the prix fixee, or just coffee/dessert. And they always don't mind bringing out the London 2014 vintage water."

  • "I took my husband here for a bday lunch to show him the view/terrace etc. I had forgotten how great the food is! SO good. And the service was impeccable. Would definitely go back. Special bday treat was an added and much appreciated touch."

  • "Have to say the food was fantastic and the table service is second to none. Never felt more relaxed with family and the hospitality was absolutely worth the price."
    dined on 03/04/2014
  • "Took my girlfriend for a birthday meal. I chose it because of the roof garden and wasn't disappointed. We had a delightful cocktail before heading inside for dinner. While we didn't intend to restrict ourselves to the deal they had on (three courses for £29 I believe) it turned out after looking at the a la carte menu that what we wanted was on it. The food was perfect. The only thing I would say was that there were a lot of suits around - presumably straight from work (not surprising for a restaurant situated in Bank) but they all cleared out by 9pm. The bill added up quite quickly and while I fully expected to spend the amount I did the cost does prevent it from being a more regular thing (for me anyway). All round great experience."

  • "We had the 2course for 26 pounds which I think was one of the best in the city. This is a very nice fine dining restaurant with a very friendly and caring staff! I highly recommend to try !!"

  • "We went to the Coq d'Argent Restaurant in Bank for Mothering Sunday lunch which was a great sounding menu 3 courses for £32. The wine list was quite pricey and had little in the way of new world wines. The service although slow was friendly, but we did get tired of having to ask for extra butter, bread and water and milk for the coffees and the staff seemed very good at not noticing customers who wanted thier attention. They also made an odd choice of shutting half the restaurant so tables were squashed together and my chair was repeatedly banged into by staff delivering meals. We would have complained, especially as my cod was so over cooked it was like rubber, but hard when my mother in law was there and it was her special day."
    dined on 30/03/2014
  • "Had Toptable fixed special menu. Despite the discount there was a reasonable choice of dishes. Food was good and well presented. Service was a bit slow at time but it was a busy night. Bread quality could be improved but otherwise it was a nice meal."
    dined on 01/04/2014
  • "Restaurant smelled bad on one side and very strongly and over poweringly of fish so we had to move but not before they made us feel it was all a bit complex and hassley. Beef was great but the chips were a let down. Bill was incorrect at the end as they'd charged us full price rather than the deal we'd booked. They were very apologetic tho."
    dined on 01/04/2014
  • "Went for mother's day lunch. Had drinks outside and eat inside with the mother's day lunch menu at £32. The food was excellent and the service very good given they were very busy."
    dined on 30/03/2014
  • "Good place for a business lunch - food good though vegetable seemed a bit flabby. Service pleasant but could be sharper."
    dined on 31/03/2014
  • "The food is OK - nothing to write home about but nicely presented - there are far nicer places in London with far nicer food at similar prices. I have to say the service over all was what let the experience down. I wouldn't mind if it had been busy but it wasn't - more of a 'too many cooks' problem I think. Slow, not very attentive, generally pretty unhelpful - lots of different waiters serving our table - I don't think we saw the saw waiter more than once which tends to end in disaster anyway. I wouldn't go again. Avoid if looking for something more than a half decent meal in a nice outdoor space while in The City- there are far better roof top restaurants that offer better food, service and a view."
    dined on 30/03/2014
  • "The food was OK, but a lower standard than I was expecting. It did not match my expectations for sure"
    dined on 30/03/2014
  • "We had an excellent working lunch menu... great flavours and great value...."
    dined on 21/11/2013
  • "Visited the restaurant for dinner on a Thursday evening, the bar was already fairly lively when we arrived so we went straight to our table for pre dinner drinks, the Pornstar Martini my partner had was probably the best she has had so far. Ordered the food, and accompanying wine which was opened and left to breath while we finished our pre dinner drinks. The starters, Lobster with Bisque and Scallop & Bacon sandwich (which had been fried) with briased baby gem and peas were both fantastic. The mains of Cod with Olive Oil Mash, Shellfish & Crab Jus and Beef Rump with Salsify and Wild Mushrooms were equally good. The cheese board included Epoisses whih is our favourite chesse (so another winner!!) All in all an excellent night"
    dined on 27/03/2014
  • "Stunning restaurant, venue and overall experience. I took 2 business partners there and sampled the top table 3 course menu at £29 - astonishing value for money. The service and food was impeccable and I would highly recommend. The venue itself is perfectly suited to its location in the city offering an air of sophistication for any occasion. Looking forward to returning when the roof garden reopens for the summer."
    dined on 27/03/2014
  • "Food and service were excellent, and service time during business lunch was very quick. The noise level during lunch time is quite high which is an indication of the appreciation by guests. Well done."
    dined on 27/03/2014
  • "Had the full english. Shame on me, as it isn't exactly the healthy option. Eggs, homemade baked beans, a massive, tasty sausage, a butter-laced field mushroom and crispy bacon + the obligatory black pudding which never gets touched. I can't do clotted blood. Anyway, this was a perfect ten. Well done!"
    dined on 25/03/2014
  • "This is the second time I have eaten here & the service is outstanding! I would recommend it to everyone I know & for all business related meals! My favourite by far!"
    dined on 21/03/2014
  • "Excellent service and a good set menu - they were so confident we would like it that the usual menu was not provided to tempt us. I can not remember the last time that happened. Food was good and staff very attentive and friendly. Will use it again."
    dined on 14/03/2014
  • "Lunch Thursday 20th March 2014 After being seated I asked for a G&T ice and LEMON, (waiter did not know if they served Gordons or not) and after 15 mins I requested again. It did arrive with no lemon but cucumber! When my Crevette starter was served I had to ask for a finger bowel, when it was served it was COLD water. I then had to request extra knapkins too. They should know this!! I also requested that my Bass was filleted, guess what?! NOT! The extra beans ordered (as they forgot) were served when we had nearly finished. Sadly throughout the meal I had to keep asking the waiting staff to top up empty glasses of w(H)ine! Customers shouldn't have to do this when the wine is not on the table. Food good."
    dined on 20/03/2014
  • "Unobtrusive but efficient service, well presented meals with great flavour and taste. A great place for a business breakfast in the city."
    dined on 21/03/2014
  • "Took my girlfriend here as a treat for the two of us. Was a little concerned that this would be a style over substance city venue but was we were both pleasantly surprised. Roof terrace was excellent as we're the cocktails. Our starters were lovely but the standout course was the chateaubriand, it was one of the best I have ever had, sauces were so good that the waiter went to the kitchen to get us the recipe! Service was great and the wine was lovely too, all in all a great restaurant that lives up t it's reputation."
    dined on 21/03/2014
  • "Perfect restaurant for a business lunch or with well heeled friends. The food is great and the service is excellent, you are made to feel very welcome and looked after."
    dined on 20/03/2014
  • "This restaurant has good , but not outstanding food, exceptional service, beautiful ambience but is let down by the price for a punter used to provincial prices"

  • "We spent a very good evening, enjoying he good food nd good value-for-money. I will certainly come back."
