Easy to book a table, the welcome was very polite and friendly, I booked valentine eve meal for myself & husband the whole experience was top drawer, thanks to 'Archie' who was a the perfect gentle as he waited on our table and was just lovely, everyone should have an 'Archie' !! The food was superb!! I recommend eating out at The Headland, we are local people and even we felt like we were spoilt!! ☺️...More

It wasn't that full for steak night but still we were put near the door. One day we might make it into the conservator. The starters were well cooked and presented. We must have taken a while to eat them as the mains arrived almost immediately after those plates had been cleared . I had the crab cakes and I don't remember them as being so large. The crab content was fine but they were too filling. The hand cut chips were disappointing and certainly not thrice cooked which is the fashion today. We visited for dinner and had booked the 4:45pm slot. When we arrived we were told the lunch menu was still being served, however, the staff were very accommodating and moved us to a later slot for dinner. We had the fishcake as starter which was beautiful! Our mains were fish and chips and steak (perfectly done with a blue cheese sauce). Dessert was lemon tart (a bit too tart for my palette) and milliionnares shortbread (which was actually more like panna cotta) We dined with our 4 yr old who was also well catered for. Without alcohol our meal came to about £60. Weather permitting do try for a table outside where the views are fabulous! ...More
