Diner Reviews
  • "We have dined at Corrigans on several occasions over the years and it never fails to impress. Firstly, the food is amazing. Always a great menu choice and each dish is perfectly executed and presented. Wine list is excellent and service is 1st class. This is why we continue to return, flawless."

  • "The service was excellent and very professional. The food was well prepared and great taste. One of my favorite restaurants in London. Thank you for a great evening."

  • "A wonderful meal from start to finish. Corrigan's serves world class cuisine in an incredibly elegant atmosphere but it's charm is that it never manages to feel stuffy or scripted - it's honest, friendly and warm. After overhearing that it was my father's birthday, they brought out a delightful cake which was a lovely and personal touch. But even without this they would have earned 5 stars for the wonderful food and wonderfully selected Burgundy. I cannot fault this restaurant."

  • "I was looking forward to a congratulatory meal here and I wasn't disappointed! We had the best corner in the restaurant and staff were friendly and jovial which is something that can be lacking in similar venues. We had the incredible beef and I'd go as far to say it was the best Sunday lunch I've ever eaten."

  • "Stylish surroundings with food that evokes what my Irish grandmother would have cooked if she'd been a world-class chef instead of a great home cook. Our meat was cooked exactly to the degree promised. Home-style side vegetables were perfect, service as gracious as could be."

  • "Took the wife for her birthday...we had the tasting menu with the matched wines...food, wine, staff and service were all outstanding. Cannot rate his place highly enough...totally awesome."

  • "Prompt and friendly service. Room is comfortable with low hung lighting and colourful flowered themed art. First course was an enjoyable fresh crab salad followed by a delicious dover sole with buttered spring greens for the main. The fish can be served on or off the bone. Dessert was a bit ordinary - diced peaches with meringue and a raspberry ripple ice cream. It was ok."

  • "This restaurant was booked to celebrate the end of a wonderful weekend with my wife. We were not disappointed indeed the whole evening was perfect - the staff; the food; the wine; the ambiance - we were treated like royalty. One thing we really liked - as a couple - was to be seated 'on a corner' rather than opposite each other. We had the taster menu but did not want the wine pairing - that was no problem as the wine waiter assisted us throughout the evening. Thank you Corrigan's Mayfair."

  • "We had the Season Lunch Menu. The produce is of ery high quality. The service and food are perfect. Although my husband would prefer the skin of the slow cooked pork to be crisy but the taste is outstanding. My pollock was cooked to perfection with crispy. The Jersey Royals were tasty, best I had eater for a while. Will definitely go back again. We loved the freshly baked 'madeleins' served with our coffee instead of chocolates. They were 'more-ish'!"

  • "We went for Sunday lunch, which is not just a roast, and enjoyed bothe the food and the service. Everything ran smoothly and all our needs were met. Perhaps as Sunday lunch, no rush or sense of urgency, particularly as we had to wait for one of our party who had been delayed."

  • "A very pleasant experience at Corrigan's The service was good, as was the food. The food is rated as good rather than any higher, which simply means we have eaten as well or slightly better, but for significantly less. The fact the good lady doesn't drink alcohol is always a good way to test the service and we didn't feel ostracised or treated any different, even if a mark up opportunity had been denied. We enjoyed the food. The vegetables served with the mains were especially tasty. It would be hard to fault anything, but there wasn't anything breath taking in what we had. When the bill comes to more than it does in many premium restaurants, it maybe needs bells and whistles on it to be highly rated, instead of just being very good"

  • "i decided to book for my husband's 50th birthday. We weren't disappointed. From the moment we arrived we were treated with attention and warmth. The service was excellent and the food just what we hoped for - delicious. We both chose steak tartare to start, absolutely spot on, followed by chicken for my husband and Dover sole with brown shrimps for me. The best cooked Dover sole I've ever had. My husband was recommended the apple crumble soufflé with ginger cream, which he loved. I had a selection of cheeses from an excellent cheese board. The sommelier recommended a Pinot Noir which went with our mixture of fish and meat, it was superb. If you would like to enjoy a special occasion then this is the place, will definitely be back."

  • "I took my wife to Corrigans to celebrate her birthday on a Sunday lunchtime. There is an excellent three course lunch menu. We enjoyed all three and the roast beef carved at the table was absolutely fantastic. A very subtlety presented birthday cake at the end was a wonderful surprise and rounded off a great afternoon. Would highly recommend."

  • "Booked for a birthday lunch and wasn't disappointed. On arrival We had cocktails and were quickly taken to our table. Excellent canapés and bread and we both ordered from the marketplace menu. The three courses for £29 is really good value and the food was lovely. I also ordered the carafe of wine which was excellent too. Fabulous service and everything finished nicely with a freshly baked Madeleine. Go. You won't be disappointed. "

  • "We had high expectations for this restaurant. But we were disappointed by the service. Three sommeliers came to give advice, all of which was different and hence very confusing. When we said £75 was a little pricey for a half bottle for us, there was a little guffawing about it and a long pause while she scratched her head about what else we could have which made us uncomfortable and embarrassed. My food was delicious but my husband fish was very overpowered by the sauce and the kale was uncuttable with the fish knife provided. The restaurant and bar were pleasantly decorated and the ambience was lovely so on the whole we had an enjoyable evening. But no wow factor unfortunately. "

  • "The food at Corrigans is fine but for the first time I noticed that they are doing something which I regard as unacceptable, misleading and maybe illegal. They charged for canapes and petit fours without mentioning this on the menu or verbally. I do not know of any restaurant which does this which is clearly underhand. All charges must be clearly identified on the menu. I have dined there occasionally but will definitely not do so ever again "

  • "In a very crowded marketplace, each restaurant in London must excell to stand out. Corrigans was nice, and that is about all I can say. We had the tasting menu, which should demonstrate the Chef's skill in flavour and presentation. This menu fell very short of both. There was a lot of food, but we came away underwhelmed and lacking the Wow factor we were expecting. The meat in the main courses, lamb, steak and ox cheek was poor quality and lacked flavour. The crab salad was nice, but not exceptional and served on a crude stone platter, and needed seasoning. The desert presentation was nice, but the ferroro richer ice cream again lacked any flavour. Shame as the restaurant is lovely and some of the sauces were nice but overall lacking. "

  • "I have to start this review by saying that what ever happened throughout the evening, the staff were on top of it and very quick to respond. The restaurant itself is lovely. The service was second to none as you would expect but the thing that spoilt the evening was the pigeon was still wrapped in cling film when it came to the table and although we did get 2 special courses free of charge, by the time my fiancée received her lamb, it was full of sinew and inedible, again, the staff were quick to apologise but as we were celebrating a birthday, it was slightly tarnished. It's a shame though as we really like Richard, his food and everything he stands for, but I'm not sure we'll be back unfortunately. This is just our experience though."

  • "We had lunchtime seasonal menu (fixed price) along with a couple of carafes of wine which was all excellent value. Food was delicious and the service was great - attentive but not overbearing. It was very quiet (Tuesday lunchtime) but even so the ambience was very good, welcoming and relaxed. Fantastic."

  • "My first visit came with great expectations,I was not disappointed. The food was excellent the service faultless. The basics and the simple things matter so much in catering presentation/attention to detail was all their. This restaurant is a foodies paradise. A lot of thought went in to Design and lighting perhaps some art deco in evidence. A little more space between diners would be nice.Elegant and understated yet all so easy on the eye. I plan to return for Dinner next trip over ."

  • "I booked this restaurant as a 40th birthday present for my husband as we were staying nearby. We also took our 7 year old daughter. Service was excellent and my husband and I opted for the taster menu while our daughter had steak (which was delicious and enormous) as well as tasting a little of each of our dishes. We didn't feel rushed at all. Service was friendly and frequent without being intrusive. The quality of the food was excellent, highlights being the foie gras and Ox cheek, but still chilled enough to welcome families on a Sat evening. The waitress brought out a cake for my husbands birthday which was a lovely touch. We all had a great evening."

The restaurant atmosphere and setting smart but relaxing and you know you are dining somewhere special. I would definitely suggest it is one for special occasions and to treat that someone special."

  • "Having travelled from Sydney where I thought the restaurants were excellent, this was far superior overall. The service was outstanding and so well organised. The food was exquisite, as were the cocktails and wine. I highly recommend the rhubarb souffle. It has a simple elegant feel to the restaurant. Thank you to the staff for their excellent food and service."

  • "We really enjoyed our first visit to Corrigans. I asked for a quiet table - and it was excellent with a lovely view of the entire restaurant and long bar. The window seat was also very pleasant. Service was good (even over the top a bit). Food was fantastic. I had the scallops and the turbot. Both were excellent. My friend also enjoyed hers. Portions were large. Desserts were delicious (I had the rhubarb crumble). We will definitely go back and I would highly recommend it, Overall cost was £169 for two without wine but it was a memorable meal and everything was perfect. I had some nice tea and this was served in a proper silver tea-pot :)"

  • "We arrived late due to traffic (should have given more time , my mistake.) but the lovely receptionist made us very welcome , Head waiter very helpful but at times , over the top .We would have liked the wine to have been opened at the table and not at the station. Waiters were a little bit over staffed became annoying as males kept leering at my good woman ( yes she is very good looking and very smartly dressed . The food was excellent , the Sea Bass a bit on the small side , but the beef , plentiful and top quality , desserts to die for , you must try the Pannacotta . £4.00 cover charge , a bit petty. Yes I am picky , but I am entitled to be so . I will recommend Corrigan's to all my friends ."
