A word from Cottier's Restaurant
Cottier's restaurant is situated on the first floor of the building and features shimmering gold ceilings, original salvaged church chairs and bespoke, handcrafted gilt mirrors. The elegant interior is eye-catching but the exterior views of the illuminated church steeple and the mature gardens below are possibly one of the most charming surrounds for eating out in the Glasgow area.

The arrival of Head Chef Jonathan McFarlane, formerly of the Ubiquitous Chip has seen a reincarnation of Cottiers traditionally South American cuisine. A fresh new Scottish approach has replaced the old menu in both the bar and restaurant with "fresh" being the operative word. Both the restaurant and bar feature a number of daily specials that subsidies already interesting menu.

Took my girlfriend here for Valentines Day. It was the first time for both of us and it was a great all round experience. Cosy atmosphere, attentive staff, great food, great timing and wasn't your usual rushed out valentines day like experience. I literally can not find one thing wrong with this place. Being Vegetarian as well they have a menu well catered for vegetarians which we will 100% be back to try. Thank you to all staff at Cottiers for making this a wonderful occasion. Only issue they might have is keeping a standard this high on our next visit but I'm conident they will!

Back at Cottiers for the first time in a few years and the menu has changed from South American influenced to modern british, the food was really good, service attentive but not intrusive and good wine selection. We were totally stuffed after our main courses so couldn't try a dessert but they looked delicious, would definitely go back.

I've eaten at Cottiers a few times in the past and always enjoyed it. This time, it wasn't as good, purely because the food was pretty average. It wasn't bad but was no better than you could make at home. Maybe it was because it was a Christmas menu which felt strange as it was only the 6th December.

So glad we visited Cottiers. Really lovely restaurant with excellent staff and really good food. Lots of options to suit all. Malaysian fish curry was a hit and I loved my king prawn and chorizo starter. I visited 2 nights in the same week as was going to Cottiers theatre and both nights had the same high standard. Only one waitress serving on one night. Rushed off her feet but she was excellent.

Waitress was attentive. Choice of food was OK, though quite a lot of spicy things. One main course - tapas type plate had avery strong blue cheese sauce Desserts - limited choice and the bread and butter pudding was like a bun with custard (very sweet) We were later told it was brioche, but there was no fruit or egg custard to make it into a recognisable bread and butter pudding However because we were unhappy with it we were not charged - so good customer relations

Lovely room to eat in, only problem was that I there seemed to only be two tables in. This didn't affect the ambience however and we have a brilliant evening. All the food was amazing and would recommend to a friend. But maybe check if there's another function going on - as I think this was the reason for them saying they weren't available until 2000hr (I assumed they had tables booked.)

This place is in an unusual location but don't let that fool you. The food is great and the ambience is perfect. There was one worry when a hen party turned up and they were loud but they were kidnly asked to leave as they don't take hen or stag bookings. The staff were excellent and the food was perfect.

OK for a casual meal. My main course (lamb curry) was tasty enough but left plenty of room for dessert. Which I don't normally have. But did here. Friendly staff, lots of smiles and energy, need more focus. (Hint - if you're busy, take a tip from the tavernas. Get the bread and wine on the table early, the food can wait a bit then). Big room, high ceiling, noisy. Or lively, depending on your mood. If you leave it to the last minute on a Saturday evening, you could do worse than end up here.

Went for a birthday dinner, food and staff were brilliant - may need another vegetarian choice on the prix fixe menu as not everyone likes risotto/mushrooms and we were not advised that we could choose from the bar menu etc. The upstairs restaurant is beautiful but rather cold and could have done with the heating turned up considerably. Would return though as it out of the way and unique.

It's a while back so I can't remember all the details, but the staff were very nice as we had some special requirements for my son and my daughter was late so we took a bit of a while to order our food. However, they did come up with something "off-menu" for my picky-eating son, and as far as I can recall the food was excellent, if a little pricey. There wasn't much in the way of ambience because the place was pretty much deserted (we were having an early pre-theatre before the pantomime downstairs), but the place was decorated nicely for Christmas and the staff were friendly and attentive.

Food & service was excellent. And if you love drunk Norwegians, then it is brilliant!! There was a part of 30-40 of them. We are not old, but the place was so noisy, the waiter could not hear what we saying! It ruined the entire evening. If you have a large group with lots of whisky, then OF COURSE they will be noisy. Staff apologised & looked embarrassed because there was little they could do. They gave us sweets for free. Restaurants must understand if they want to accept big parties & have no private room, they cannot accept any other bookings. Sorry for the harsh review but it is fair.

Restaurant itself is lovely, pretty lighting and nicely sized tables laid out well. Food was nice enough- would have preferred just a wee bit more choice. My only real gripe was that when we were shown to our table by a waitress we sat for at least 10 mins waiting on a drinks/dinner menu. Then when the waiter did come over he asked us if we had a reservation and under what name!!! How bizarre! He then walked over to his computer, checked something and only THEN did he bring us our menus!!! Having already confirmed our booking and shown to our table by the previous member of staff I found this quite the oddest thing. Sadly it made us feel very uncomfortable and almost unwanted. I wonder why he felt the need to do that? I wish I'd asked!!

This restaurant is in a beautiful old church building and the interior is absolutely stunning! It's quite dimly lit which is something that I like as it feels much more intimate. The gold ceiling gives it an opulent look and the old church chairs that are used are a nice additional touch. Service was outstanding. The staff were all incredibly attentive and polite. The food was as stunning as the interior. We went a little earlier than usual to catch the pre theatre menu which was excellent value at only £14.50 for two courses. The prawn starter was gorgeous and a deceivingly large portion. Both mains were excellently cooked and the wine was very reasonably priced. I will definitely be back.

I booked Cottiers for an evening meal with a friend on a Saturday having been recommended to try it as they have a new chef who is looking to raise its profile. Glad I booked - the place was full and had a nice buzz when we arrived. The menu is very different to what I recall and has definitely stepped up a couple of notches. It now has more of a Scottish feel to it. I had the fried squid followed by wood pigeon while my friend had soup followed by the chicken. There were a couple of veggie options available. The pigeon was full flavoured and truly delicious although might have been cooked a little more for me. The staff were attentive and the service was not rushed. A lovely evening! I will definitely be back.
