A word from Devonshire Terrace
Devonshire Terrace lies 5 minutes walk from Liverpool St in the beautiful glass-domed Western Courtyard of Devonshire Square.

The venue itself, with its remarkable double sided balconies, one completely covered by a high glass roof, is unique and jaw-dropping. The restaurant/bar has four private rooms complete with sliding doors giving access to a private balcony area and heated terrace. The reindeer skin throws and electric heaters on the outside terrace give it a year round appeal and help to create the air of escapism that you feel as soon as you walk into Devonshire Terrace.

The restaurant menu features a range of modern European dishes created and prepared by our own chefs.

Diner Reviews
  • "A little haven of gastronomic delight in the city! Recommend its easy relaxed atmosphere, excellent service - friendly without being too watchful, and pretty good food. A lovely selection of wine but the prices are a bit too high. There should be no correlation between silly spending habits of city types and drinking good wine."

  • "I booked Devonshire Terrace for a business lunch as has heard it was a popular place to go- and can't believe I hadn't been sooner. Sadly there were no tables available outside, but the service was excellent and the food absolutely delicious. I had the halloumi salad to start followed by goats cheese ravioli and both were fantastic, even something as simple as the salad was so tasty. There was a lot of choice on the menu. We all enjoyed our food so much we ordered dessert just to try them and shared the chocolate bon bons filled with ice cream and chocolate truffles- perfect for sharing. Although not cheap, it wasn't bad value either, being just over £100 for 3 including drinks. Will definitely be back!"

  • "Being a business lunchtime and a little conscious of time, we proceeded immediately to the Mains. My choice was the Sardines and my companion elected for the Sea Bass - we shared some additional Sides of potato mash and Bok Choi. The Fish and the Sides were cooked to perfection, were well portioned and full of flavour. This was washed down with a very acceptable reasonably priced, and well chilled Muscadet sur Lie. For dessert we shared some fresh strawberries in a clever champagne jelly with a lime sorbet before asking for the bill and very reluctantly returning to our respective offices. A glorious day with sublime food, excellent wine, conversation and a pretty woman - just what summer should be all about."

  • "The lunch was a very pleasant affair, genteel atmosphere so could hear ourselves talk. Staff were attentive and the food was delicious."

  • "The plates were not hot and not surprising the food was only warm. Can be easily fixed and disappointing that I have to raise this negative comment."

  • "We had an enjoyable business lunch in the terrace section with good service and food. My colleagues wanted something a bit more outdoors but the forecast had possible showers so the high open glass ceiling proved to be the ideal compromise. The food was good with a nice range for vegatarians. Recommended,"

  • "Had a late afternoon business drink and snack here... excellent ambience. You get an out of doors feel, lots of space and quiet. Somewhat spoilt by the endless TV monitors. The service was ok; not omni-present, but equally not always there when wanted! The drinks were good, but expensive and the snacks were similar..."

  • "If you get to eat out side, the terrace is the perfect sun trap. The service was very attentive and the food plentiful and delicious. A great place to treat yourself and a friend to a week day lunch!"

  • "Excellent venue & location. Staff fully appreciate the need for a good business meeting over a light lunch. Everyone very happy. Thank you"

  • "rather disappointing food and expensive for what it is"

  • "Visited this restaurant on a Monday evening - pleasant but quiet atmosphere - though the restaurant across the terrace was much busier. Food was well cooked and presented. It had an outdoors feel to it, but is covered so weather friendly. Would happily return, probably later in the week."

  • "Very good food. Well cooked and presented. Rather limited menu. Wines were good. Service was attentive."
    dined on 12/05/2014
  • "Getting a table is quite simple. Food is good and wine menu pretty decent too. Desert selection is lovely and the service is decent but could be a little more attentive. Very good value for money too."
    dined on 11/04/2014
  • "The delight of Devonshire Terrace is its roofed over, sunshine heated, outdoor but indoor layout. The food and service was well up to London business lunch standards, who notices the cost unless it's outrageous. The service fell down on a couple of occasions but being friendly and enthusiastic made up for that."
    dined on 10/04/2014
  • "Went here for a business meeting and had the best Eggs Benedict I've had in a long while. Will definitely come again."
    dined on 09/04/2014
  • "I visit here a lot as I work nearby and what's great is that you are served quickly so you can have a nice lunch within your 1 hour break. The food is very good - I usually go for the chicken club sandwich. Getting hungry now thinking about it..... Its nice as you can sit outside and as it's covered it doesnt matter if its rains or is very windy.."

  • "Amazing food - from top to bottom. We thoroughly enjoyed all three courses and kept asking the waitress to pass on our compliments to the chef. Definitely recommend for work colleagues or friends for lunch and dinner."

  • "I had a client lunch at Devonshire Terrace - not what I was expecting - quite relaxed/casual, food okay not outstanding by any stretch - good for a quick bite to eat with friends but wouldn't recommed for anything more."
    dined on 23/01/2014
  • "Good restaurant and good location with a decent and varied restaurant. I had the nicoise salad and my only comment was that the tuna was well done and not medium as ordered, but still very good."
    dined on 22/01/2014
  • "A good location for a business meal and food quality was quite good. My client required dairy free and they were able to accommodate this which was quite useful Good service and wine as well"

  • "Really enjoyable meal, great service and overall my colleagues and I had a great time."
    dined on 17/12/2013
  • "Booked a table for 3 for 2:45pm many weeks in advance. Told at 11.20am on the same that they were closing the restaurant for a xmas party and that we would have to finish the meal at 4pm. After saying this was not acceptable, they said we could stay until 5pm. After this time their service was none existent as they were preparing for the party. In the end we were asked to take our unfinished bottle of wine outside in the cold atrium outside. We were made to feel like intruders. It's understandable that a party booking was their main priority but those diners who had to leave before they wanted (not only just ourselves) should have been better looked after for the inconvenience which was not of their making."

  • "Great breakfast, service and good private dining areas."
    dined on 29/11/2013
  • "I had lunch at Devonshire Place this week and was disappointed in the quality of the food. I had the White Crab, Spinach & Lemon Mascarpone Risotto at £14.95, which was stodgy, congealed, heavy, and tepid. This dish should be light texture, moist, and hot and it failed on all three counts."
    dined on 27/11/2013
  • "Business lunch with some lovely colleagues. I had the pigeon for starter which was lovely and very well cooked followed by the burger. The burger was enormous and quite pink (which is how I like it) and I struggled to finish it. The chips could have been crispier and the green beans were swimming in butter. The service was very good until the point we required the bill. Overall, a good experience and I will certainly book the restaurant again as it is very convenient for clients based in and around Bishopsgate."

  • "Had a breakfast meeting there. Quiet, not so busy. Service was good. Food was good also."
    dined on 15/11/2013
  • "This was my first time dining at Devonshire Terrace. We did not have starters. My guest really enjoyed her steak. I had asked for my lamb shank to be pink but unfortunately it was a little overdone so the meat was a little dry. The desserts were delicious."

  • "Great place for business discussions in a not too formal environment. Food was very good."
    dined on 23/10/2013
  • "Food here is nice and the service is excellent. It is a little pricy if you are paying for yourself. Sides are priced separately and there is a 12.5% service fee, but most people there are usually on business where the compete is paying, therefore price is less of an issue. IT is a nice place to eat if you are not worried about the cost of the final bill."

  • "excellent place for a relaxed business lunch, would write more but rather busy."

  • "Perfect for a tasty lunch with friends and for good attentive service in nice surroundings"

  • "The food was great - you really can't go too far wrong here. However, service was very slow to get going, especially on a quiet Monday lunchtime. Room for improvement there. To be fair, things did improve as we went on."
    dined on 16/09/2013
  • "First time we've ever eaten here but what an outstandingly lucky find. We had a late lunch out on the terrace. Being able to eat outside is always a major plus for me anyway - especially when you're actually protected from the elements anyway. But this wasn't just about ambience. Everything we ate and drank was exceptional. Melting parma ham with superb feta and water melon salad. Terrific veal caponata and pork loin with apricots (my partner doesn't even normally LIKE apricots). Fabulous strawberry shortcake and lovely Gavi wine. All served by friendly and efficient waitresses. What's not to like? We'll be back, for definite."
    dined on 29/08/2013
  • "We ordered fish and salad from the lunch menu with a summer cocktail, all were well presented, delicious and appropriately portioned. Service was extremely good, as was the ambience on the Terrace outside under the Devonshire Square Dome. With the sun out it can get a little warm under the Dome, some canopys might be as shrewd an investment for the restaurant as their canapes."

  • "A nice venue - convenient for business lunches. Service was swift and food was very pleasant. Nothing too showy but nicely executed fresh dishes."

  • "Visited Devonshire Terrace for lunch on 7th June. As requested had a 'courtyard' table. Service bit slow and not much holumi on the salad - disappointed with cream brulee was rather solid and not very crispy. The location and seating is lovely though and the mussels and frits was very good."
