Diner Reviews
  • "Obviously the setting is unbeatable and the food is pretty good too - pretty unconventional so might not be to everyone's taste but great foody experience."
    dined on 12/02/2014
  • "Very expensive pretentious food. The fusion of breakfast dishes with traditional dishes does NOT work. Service is mediocre at best. Loved the views though."
    dined on 21/04/2014
  • "We wanted to find a great place for us to celebrate my wife's birthday. Duck and Waffle provided the perfect venue. Stunning views of London, amazingly clever and delicious food with good service and great value for brunch. The children loved it as much as we did! The restaurant recognised my wife's birthday with a great table and a surprise cake at the end of the meal. "

  • "Not only is the view amazing, the food is delicious and the service excellent. "

  • "We both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and it was a perfect surprise for my husband. Shortly after coming out of Liverpool Street at gone midnight, my husband watched the elevator whizz up the side of the building and it was only then that I announced this is where we were going. The atmosphere was lively, the staff amazing, food great and whilst I did let them know it was my husband's surprise birthday, they still managed to surprise us both with birthday wishes for my husband. Totally and thoroughly recommend."

  • "The restaurant has an amazing view and we were given a brilliant table. Service was great and the staff was super friendly. However the taste and quality of food was unbelievably bad and the toilets were very dirty. "

  • "Lovely cocktails at Sushi Samba underneath before an incredible and niche dining experience. Must go for the title dish as it's divine!"
    dined on 15/04/2014
  • "From the moment we entered the exterior elevator going to the 40th floor, escaping the hustle and bustle of Bishopsgate, until we were greeted warmly by the floor manager and shown to our window seat, we knew we were in for a treat. We were not disappointed. We had two full english breakfasts (good value and tasty) and one Columbian eggs (scrabbled) with a small whole chorizo sausage on the side (again very tasty). The views were exceptional - mainly due to the very good weather that day. I was tempted to try an 'original' menu choice, something exotic for brunch/breakfast, being the ox cheek donut or the fried pigs ears or the duck with a waffle but there is always a next time! Great thoroughly recommended."

  • "First visit en famille and all enjoyed the food and ambience despite the rain. Our table was moved away from kitchen without asking and service on the whole excellent. Very pricy but the whole chicken fed four and worth it for a special treat"

  • "The Duck & Waffle is an extremely cool venue with amazing views of London and a really imaginative menu."

  • "Had pre THEARTE brunch with the Mrs. Enjoyed the experance will be booking up again soon."

  • "Venue was amazing, we had a window table that on a clear day as it was when we went made the view even more spectacular. The staff were attentive and very friendly. Food options were unusual but in a very good way, with flavours to match. We loved the whole experience and will gladly go back."

  • "Fantastic experience and outstanding views. You pay for the view (best seats!) and the ambience but the food more than lives up to the hype and the cost. The signature dish, the duck and waffle, is a must and easily small enough for one rather than shared (which we did). The Easter hot cross bun special was incredibly good. Our service was a little haphazard (we received the wine menu but, as it was brunch, we were really looking for the coffee and juice menu, which we never received) but forgivable. We will definitely return. "

  • "I have been to the restaurant twice, for late lunches, which I think is ideal, with family and a friend. On both occasions, we tried a few different dishes to share from the brunch and table menu - bacon wrapped dates and duck & waffle were our favourite. The waiter who served us actually shredded the duck for us on the spot so my friend and I can share it, which was a brilliant idea. Marmite Black Velvet cocktail is excellent - a must try! We had seats near the window on both occasions - views were breathtaking as both days were sunny. On the second visit, my friend and I were there till it was dark, and the view was still amazing. I would highly recommend this place for the views, service, food and cocktails - what's not to love?!"

  • "You will probably never eat these dishes anywhere else but they are so delicious and unique! I would recommend a different interior deaigner for this restaurant but the view is amazing. The staff was very welcoming and relaxed. It is great for a relaxing meal between friends and family but also good for business dinners and lunches. They also have private rooms."

  • "Amazing food, with amazing views of London. Service was outstanding. Great place to take someone for a meal they will never forget. "

  • "I booked this for my mums birthday treat and everything from the food to the service was amazing. Obviously though the views are incredible and we spent most of the evening pointing out sights of London. Definately worth a visit!"

  • "We visited Duck and Waffle for breakfast; we were not disappointed! The menu choices were varied and it was definitely hard to decide. Food arrived in a timely manner, we wouldn't have minded waiting as the views over London from the 40th floor were incredible, especially on a sunny day. The service was very good, the staff very attentive. It is a pricier than the average breakfast but certainly worth it. "
    dined on 17/04/2014
  • "This was our third visit to Duck and Waffle and as on each of the previous visits, our reserved table was not ready. It seems to be a policy to have you hang out in the bar for 15 minutes and buy drinks while you wait for your table. That negative apart, this is a fun place for dinner, with an unbeatable view of London. The menu is eclectic but appealing, and the wine list extensive, although quite pricey. It is certainly worth having the duck and waffle main course. The atmosphere is vibrant and it's a great place to take out of town visitors."
    dined on 15/04/2014
  • "We had (my mom and i) a great evening. The food "ducl&wafle" was really good. The sommelier helps us to choose our wine. And the torrejas for desert was very good as well."
    dined on 16/04/2014
  • "It was a lovely eating experience. The duck was great. The small plates were a little pricey and on the small side. The views were breathtaking and the service was good. "

  • "This is the second time I've been here for Breakfast, food delicious, service not rushed. Thoroughly enjoyable."

  • "My fiancée and I ate in D&W recently and all in all was disappointed. Food was disappoint neither worthy of the setting or the price. We had the roast octopus which was overly chewy and over powered by herbs, a meatball and gnocchi special which was swimming in oil and the gnocchi was just little balls of soggy mash potato. The opinion bread with capers and anchovies was border line uneatable salty, braised cheeks with polenta was the nicest of the bunch, but hardly ground breaking, and the one we most looked forward to, signature dish, duck and waffle was just pointless, duck was tasty, about equivalent to my local Chinese, waffle was dry and tasteless, and the 'sauce' that went with was overly sweet and added nothing. Egg was nice though "
    dined on 14/04/2014
  • "...for this restaurant. Was difficult to make the booking in the first place as I regularly experience troubles with their whole phone and booking system and availabiltiy is always limited. However, when we went for breakfast the restaurant was quite empty. Food was nice but not outstanding. Service was rather slow and unattentive which was disappointing on a quiet morning that we experienced and considering the price level. Overall, we went for the splendid view over an awakenig London."

  • "I went to duck and waffle for a business meeting for breakfast. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food-most opted for the "duck and waffle" and I went for the Colombian eggs. The portions were very good and more importantly the food tasted great. Service was lovely-everyone there is really pleasant. The views are amazing, especially on a sunny day. The lift is an experience though-it's very fast and makes you feel rather queasy! "
    dined on 14/04/2014
  • "Went for breakfast and wasn't disappointed with the food. Best blood orange mimosa I've had (and the food was certainly great too!). One tiny problem was the layout of the window tables which were a tiny bit too close together. A fellow diner behind kept pushing her chair back towards me but she did have awful manners so perhaps it was just bad luck sitting next to her. Apart from that a top experience and would happily recommend to anyone."
    dined on 13/04/2014
  • "Brilliant location, we had a corner table with amazing views over the city. Service and Food was excellent. Will be back again."

  • "Great place with great food, great ambiance, great cocktails!! Would definitely recommend it and would most certainly go again!"

  • "The lift ride up to the restaurant is an experience in itself, great views across the city. We came for breakfast on a Friday morning - I was expecting it to be full of suits having breakfast meetings but there was a nice balance of tourists and regulars so we didn't feel too out of place! We got a table by the floor to ceiling windows overlooking (or looking down on) the Gherkin. The breakfast was delicious and nicely presented, the staff were friendly and the atmosphere perfect. We will definitely be coming back and can't recommend it enough."
    dined on 11/04/2014
  • "The food at Duck and Waffle is the best I've experienced in a long time. Original menu choices, all very tasty and different. Service is also of a very high quality."
    dined on 19/02/2014
  • "Booked quite a long time in advance for a Saturday night and requested a window seat when booking which we got. The restaurant is quite small, the views are amazing and the food is delicious. We had the rosemary and garlic bread followed by the duck and waffle. I'm quite a fussy eater but having been before I knew it was amazing. Drinks are around £13 which is quite standard for that type of place but a little expensive nonetheless. I've been before and would definately go back again. I've also been to just the bar before (on the sushi samba floor) which was horrendous - mainly because we waited at the bar for 40 minutes to get a round in, the bar man was extremely rude and they charge 12.5% service! So I'd say go to the restaurant only."
    dined on 12/04/2014
  • "I think Duck and Waffle is a very good place to go. I booked the lunch appointment 3 weeks prior. Enjoyed the food and the view very much. Would visit again!"
    dined on 31/03/2014
  • "Great food, service and views. It was my friends birthday and the waiter recommended some great wine and put a little birthday pudding together for her and even sang happy birthday. Was a great night."
    dined on 11/04/2014
  • "We visited for a birthday breakfast while staying in the City for a few days! We really enjoyed the food-fresh British ingredients perfectly executed ! The staff were very efficient and friendly. The place has a good balance between trendy and relaxed. The view is fantastic and you feel like you've found a little bit of NY in London! It's a must !"
    dined on 11/04/2014
  • "Duck and waffle was a amazing experience i loved it and i will be defoo returning very soon :)) you have to go to this restaurant its a must :))))"

  • "Although we had to wait 5 minutes for our table the lady offered us a table for two with a spectacular view of London. We were WOWED by the place. Glamorous and modern decor, full of wealthy young people and posh businessmen. We felt like we were in Dubai with the super rich. Food however was quite disappointing. We had he ox cheek with polenta, doughnut with pork filling, aubergine with some sort of yoghurt. Flavours were not quite there an the doughnut just tasted weird. However wine was good and the cocktails list looked impressive. It's a great place to get together with a group of friends or colleagues with fantastic views and drinks. Food would be better if it was just nibbles rather than mains."

  • "My second time at the Duck and Waffle and I took someone for their birthday. The different views across London both in the bar and restaurant are incredible and definitely worth a visit. The food came out far too quickly and not really in any order (everything came out at once rather than starting with starters...) so you could quite easily be in and out in the space of an hour, which is a shame if you want to take your time. Food is nice, but for £10 a small plate I expected it to be a little bit more 'wow'. Cocktails are lovely. All in all a good experience but I feel you spend the money on the view, not the food!"

  • "Duck and Waffle lived up to expectations - I took my Dad for his birthday and it was an ideal location for a special treat. Though the weather was slightly temperamental during our dinner, we still got amazing views over London and the food matched the fantastic sights - when the chef decided he had overdone our steak, he sent us a complimentary salad to tide us over while he cooked another one. The service was faultless and the sommelier made lovely recommendations that paired with our food really well."
