Amazing views. Lots of choice. I would recommend if you haven't been before having the duck and waffle. It was my second time so had duck egg en cocotte. Very nice but quite rich. Saying that it's a great brunch spot and my guests loved it. Service was good but not amazing.

I booked a table for breakfast for a special occasion and requested a table by the window. The gentleman who greeted us was incredibly warm and welcoming and showed us to a table by the window, which had the most amazing view of London. I wouldn't say that service was the quickest or most attentive, but when something was brought to their attention they fixed it promptly. My reason for going was more for the view anyway and I wasn't disappointed. Food was good and sample sizes were spot on. Definitely worth a visit!

We went there for a belated birthday meal and everybody was delighted. This is certainly an experience, from the moment you look at the Heron Tower to when you enter the lift, from when you discover the stunning view from the 40th floor to when you tuck in to the famous D&W. I would also recommend the mozzarella salad nothing like i've ever tasted before, the jerusalem artichoke ravioli were a delight, and the luscious breads with so much fillings they were almost pizza like! The service was impeccable super efficient without feeling stuffy. i'd definitely recommend and go there again, it's perfect for special occasions - the only challenge is finding a table available, we had to book 6 weeks in advance!

Really great atmosphere (buzzy but not overly loud) and the staff were really lovely. Food was very good although the Ox and apricot doughnut was a bit of a let down as it was too dry. Pig ears and dates with bacon were ridiculously moreish.

It was amazing. The best duck I've ever had - crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Duck can be quite tricky and can sometimes be dry on the inside but here it was succulent and the crispy outside of the duck was so well seasoned. The waffle was perfection - I wondered it might be a bit odd with a waffle being sweet but it wasn't sweet, it was very balanced and with the duck egg cooked to perfection with the yolk and white being sturdy yet the yolk also just the right amount runny so you can share it with ease. The maple mustard syrup tied the meal together perfectly. When I go again, I'm certainly ordering the duck and waffle again. Also absolutely excellent service. The waiter introduced himself, gave us his name, very polite.

The location of the restaurant is the selling point because the food wasn't anything to shout about. I went for Brunch and had a very bland smoked mozzarella salad and quite a dry and tough waffle. I have had lunch before which was better but brunch was't great at all.

The Duck & Waffle experience starts with a lift ride up to the 40th floor of the Heron Tower. Slightly unusual entrance from the back of the restaurant by the toilets, but you arrive at a bar area where you can enjoy a drink while you wait for your table to be prepared (if needed). We waited about 10 minutes while enjoying drinks and the stunning view to the financial district of London. St. Paul and even the London Eye can be seen clearly. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. Food was gorgeous. Though the menu was a little confusing. Ask for it to be explained before you decide what you want to order. Overall a great experience, though a bit on the pricey side. But, good for a special occasion.

Duck & Waffle was such a great experience! The food for Brunch was delicious and the price wasn't too bad. The views were what made the experience. I was on vacation for my first time in London and when I made my reservation I requested to sit by a window if possible. When I arrived the staff took us to our table with a stunning view of the city! Our server was very kind and helpful as well. Definitely recommend to everyone!

    Dined on 4/10/2014
Booked a table for mid-Saturday afternoon - had to wait 10 minutes for the table. Seems to be a thread for this restaurant that your table isn't always ready on time. Having said that the food was outstanding. The Foie gras crème Brule was an absolute delight - creamy, tasty and topped with lobster pieces - you couldn't fault it. The smoked salmon was plentiful and tasty and the Pollock meatballs were good as well. Had the ribeye for the table and that was tasty, cooked as we asked for and enough for 3 of us after the starters. The only let down was the wine list. It was an insult to be charged so much for ordinary wines and champagnes. I know restaurants have markups but there's was over the top hence the low value score.

Had lovely dinner with my wife and despite the loud business dinner next to us and the little too loud music (must be an age thing), we had a great time as the team at D&W was able to surprise us with interesting food combinations, excellent presentation and solid service. I especially appreciated that they found my wallet which I accidentally left and returned it with all contents. Seems straight forward but I value honesty a lot. Highlight for us was the Duck & Waffle dish, especially as the gluten free option tasted fantastic.

This is the more relaxed sibling of the more flashy sushi samba. We recently went there for brunch to celebrate my bday. The food was simple but delicious - the duck and waffle being my fave from the brunch menu. The staff were fantastic - They also really go out of their way as the person looking after our table actually stayed back past his shift just to bring me my "bday plate" and wish me before he handed us over and went home - I thought this was a really special touch. I of course do not have to go on about the views - which from every direction of the restaurant are just absolutely gorgeous!! Definitely recommend for a special occasion.

Myself and my friends visited The Duck and Waffle on Saturday 27th September as a birthday celebration. We had a fantastic time and enjoyed the whole experience. We had the brunch menu and I must say the dates wrapped in bacon are a must have. The food is a little pricey but it was a birthday treat and the views are excellent. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We went for cocktails first in the bar underneath and although nice, we found a better cocktail bar just up the road.(Dirty Martini). One of the highlights for me was the glass elevator (I did not realise lifts could go that fast)...Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!

When entering, we waited for our table to be ready at the bar... We went to order two bloody Mary's at the bar which cost £26..But as I paid I realised it was a little over 29...I then took the drinks to the table and waited for my table...essentially it paid for service charge without the service. My partner and I attended D&W on a sunny, pleasant Sunday at 1pm. Without ruining some of the 'wow' factors for those that have not yet been, a number of friends had spoken very highly of the restaurant. From 'greeting' to leaving, the experience was let down by staff who desperately need better customer service training. The staff we encountered were functional at best. As it was a treat for my partner, I did not make a fuss and duly paid the 12.5% service on the bill. Put simply, the service staff did not deserve it. Avoiding the service charge debate; I would recommend D&W, but with caution. If you accept you are paying for the view, then the food and drinks may come as a pleasant surprise. That is, if they get you order right.

and great food, alright the prices are a little on the high side, but that is kind of OK because the whole experience is worth it. I have been a few times at different times of the day but think this place is spectacular as a brunch venue, but being open 24 hours is also useful to know if you are out on the town and miss the usual restaurant close times. The food is good and well presented and the waiting staff attentive, friendly and knowledgeble about the menu, add wine and it starts getting expensive, but the food is reasonable value considering the views. Great to impress friends for a special occasion or a romantic meal for two.

We went to the Duck and Waffle Saturday. Our table was booked at 6.15pm. Initially I thought this was a little early however it was perfect! Bright outside when we first sat down and slowly but surely it was became dark outside with the bright lights of London glistening in the night! Our table was amazing - the seats being a couch in the shape of a "C" looking directly out over London. We had lots of delicious starters which we all shared and then for mains we shared the Steak (possibly the nicest steak I ever had), the sea bass (so fresh and delicious) and also the chicken ( succulent and so tasty). Shared between a party of 5 we had more than enough food! The service and ambience was great! Overall a fantastic experience!!

Visited here on a Saturday for a mid-morning breakfast. Overall the experience was excellent. Both of us had the Duck & Waffle which was simply brilliant. The service was equally as good, with the waitresses being very attentive to our needs. The only reason for a 4* is because of an accumulation of my points below: 1) An automatic £1 is added to your bill for the "love food" (or something like that) charity. Out of principle this felt wrong. 2) The view from one of our window seat was restricted due to a beam - this could easily have been addressed by moving the tables slightly. 3) Large amount of crumbs from the last customers under our table. 4) Entrance is through the "Sushi Samba", with no signage to indicate its the same for D&W
