The food is consistently good. We had braised cuttlefish with pearl barley in a squid ink sauce, pigs head with sriracha, carpaccio and the signature duck and waffle. All those dishes were delicious and original. Stuff you've probably not made at home. The carpaccio was slightly less impressive, the pairing with balsamic syrup just felt a bit old-hat, but it tasted lovely and I could've eaten kilos of it. The service in the restaurant is good. Having been at the Duck and Waffle twice, I can only point out two things that are letting the side down. The entrance and bar are (in my opinion) tacky and cheap looking. And the bartenders and doormen downstairs treat you like some kind of vermin if you don't *look* like jetset banksters.

Wanted to go for some time and decided to go for Sunday brunch. Had the 'Duck & Waffle' with the additional egg. This was very food in presentation and the service was very good. I do recomend that everyone should visit this venue at leaset once if not for the 40 floor lift ride to enter.

Went to Duck & Waffle for my 30th birthday with friends on Sunday. Food was great, view was great, but the service really needs greater improvement. The waitress was inpatient while we were ordering and we have asked for the bill for three times but she just ignored us. I have seemed a number of review saying the say thing about the service. Duck & Waffle has such good food and view, why hasn't made effort to improve the service? Will not recommend this restaurant for a special occasion.

Aside from the incredible view from this restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was not very big and therefore retained a cosy and intimate atmosphere. Despite this, staff were plenty on the ground and the service was truly excellent. Neither wine nor water dipped below a certain level in our glasses until the bottles were finished. The food was not the best I've had, but it was still very good, although I may choose some other dishes next time to try something different. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we stayed for a total of 5 hours, and were relocated to the upstairs bar after lunch again with attentive service, we then went downstairs to sushisamba for a delicious cocktail. I'll definitely be back!

booked an impromptu 2am table. the atmosphere was great - really buzzy and fun with a dj spinning tunes in the restaurant. incredible night-time views, as you'd expect. the duck & waffle w/duck egg and maple syrup was really good, as were the pollock meatballs w/lobster cream: perfect post-party food! the only thing that let it down was the service - not terrible, but in no way attentive. we had to stop whichever waiter happened to be passing to ask for things; they didn't refill our water or ask us if everything was ok etc. but they were friendly enough once we'd got their attention. they seemed understaffed and the stressed-out maitre'd seemed to be doing his utmost to pass that stress on to his team. avoid sitting near the till point!

Great food, lots of unusual dishes and drinks, you can even get a Cosmo with bone marrow!! The atmosphere is good up there, and sitting on the 40th floor of the Heron Tower, you really do have one of the best views over London. The service however is not what you would expect from a restaurant of this standard. We waited about half an hour to order and then another half an hour for a glass of wine to arrive. When we got the bill we were told that the wine and service charge had been taken off of the bill and the manager offered us a free glass of champagne which was gratefully received. They were very apologetic about the service issues and did go to a lot of effort to make up for it by their gestures.

Slow service and sameness of food led to a disappointing evening. A very strong smoky flavour in food can be good, but in every fish to the point everything tasted the same. Great view, sloooow service, meagre sharing portions and overpriced. It's a thumbs down for me!

The restaurant serves amazing food and cocktails… the duck and waffle is superbly done. The views definitely add to the ambience of the place, and I'll be very happy to go back there again. Special thanks to the staff, who were extremely nice and caring. The only "negative" comment I may have concerns the fact that it is extremely hot in the restaurant area - they should definitely pump up the air-con a bit more, especially with the open-view kitchen which radiates the heat that spills into the dining room.

This is the second time I have been here to eat and I can assure u I will be back as soon as possible (well, as soon as I can book a table, as tables here are hard to book!). The service, from the minute you walk out of the lift, is impeccable! The hostess makes you feel like a VIP walking in. The food is incredible! Very hard to describe the theme, but I can honestly say from my first bite to the last I was in heaven!!! There was a party in my mouth, no joke!!! You have to come, for a special occasion, as it's not cheap. A meal for 3, with one cocktail and soft drinks was £250! But oh my, worth every last penny!!! I would sell my granny to eat here! Enjoy! I'm jealous you're reading this and considering going there!! Lol!!!

First time visit and a treat for my boyfriend's birthday. I requested a window seat at booking which we got. The service was perhaps a little bit too attentive. Our first waiter knocked over our glass but nothing too major. We were sent an alternative waitress and he was nowhere to be seen after that! The bacon/date rolls were very good, everything else was nice but not amazing (inc the duck and waffle). A good ambience with an amazing sunset view!

Everything except for the duck and waffle is just mediocre or poor. We are greeted by marginally condescending staff when we entered, although the staff inside the restaurants are brilliant. Other than duck and waffle, which is superb, we also ordered the pollock meatballs, which is basically overcooked fish, and the roasted seabass, which isn't bad by any means but failed to surprise me. I ordered dessert after that and they are mediocre at best too. Took the staff more than 15 minutes for them to come back and take my card for payment too, almost thought they have forgotten about us.

Being a frequent diner of Duck & Waffle, I absolutely had to bring my mum here to experience the ambience and food. Our booking was for 15:30 yet we arrived early at 14:45 so we could have a drink in the bar and admire the view. The bar staff were excellent as per and the view was incredible on such a clear day. Moreover, the restaurant staff sat us at our table at approximately 15:00 (half an hour earlier than the reservation) and we had a fine table besides a window. Our waiter succeeded with customer service & took our orders rapidly. To our delight we did not have to wait long for our food to come. My personal favourite side order, crispy BBQ pig ears, went down a treat as did the Duck & Waffle. Many thanks to the wonderful staff.

Loved the food here - had brunch and with everyone having desserts plus 2 of our six having cocktails it still came up at c.£35 per head. The food was fantastic, especially the gorgeous choc brownie sundae, but it did prove a little hard to attract servers' attention to get drinks/order/pay etc. We weren't in a hurry so it wasn't a big issue for us, but I think if we'd been a couple I'd have minded more. Also a warning - I'd taken my compact camera and got told off by the receptionist who said "because it has a zoom you can't use it due to historic buildings, only mobile phones". I've looked at their website and it seems she was being over-zealous as it only mentions large cameras and changeable lenses but it made me feel uncomfortable.

. I do not understand the hype about it. The view is lovely, receptionists are friendly, but I felt that waiters are paying fake compliments, and the service was not that great. We had to wait at 15 minutes to be asked whether we would like a drink, finally we received a menu but the waiter could not recommend much. Then we received somebody else's food as a mistake, which was little plate of croissants with jam, which we thought that was a free starter! Thankfully I asked the waiter whether it was meant for us. It wasn't. Overall, it was overpriced, average place without much of an atmosphere. Nonetheless I would like to see what does it feel like in the evening, so I will come back :)

I don't think the food lived up to their prices and standards, the Ox cheek had no flavour and soggy toast was very unappealing yet the hollandaise was quite nice. The olives were not the best and drinks were overpriced. My table of 4 agreed we wouldn't come back and far more enjoyed Sushi sambas food down stairs.

Celebrated my girlfriend's 10th year in London by visiting here for Brunch on a Sunday - ended up being the perfect location. We lucked out with a window seat, but the views are pretty panoramic all round. Service was impeccable throughout the day from the waiter, the sommelier and the rest of the team. Absolutely professional, but very friendly at the same time, which makes the place very relaxed. I went for the pigs ears and the signature 'Duck and Waffle'. Loved both of them. Presentation was surprising on each of them, which made it an event as the food arrived. The flavour combos on the Duck and Waffle were brilliant. Didn't expect the duck to be cooked in the way it was.

Had previously been here and the experience had been great. On this occasion however, service was really bad. It was hard to gain the attention of waiters. We waited forever for our order to be taken, and then we waited forever for our bill to come. The food came quickly, and was delicious though. Overall it would have been a good night, but then on the way out a waiter scolded us because I had a small camera with me. At no point was there any information (when we booked) or signage (outside the building, or anywhere in the building) to indicate cameras were not allowed. I don't mind a no camera rule, but the way which she shouted at us was extremely unpleasant and condescending.

Booked the Duck &Waffle as my daughters preference to celebrate her 18th birthday. The whole experience from start to finish was amazing. Quite a small resturant on the 40th floor which arriving via a glass elevator made it even more exciting. Reception & staff were faultless & so friendly. We were given a booth table which was very comfortable & attended to straight away. Staff explained the menu which is slightly different & geared up for sharing which we really welcomed. I really dislike huge & intimating portions but here is very different. Great & intimate atmosphere with an open kitchen on view. I have to say I've yet to eat anywhere else to match the flavours & freshness of the food served. My daughter will always remember her 18th.
