  • "Great vibe - relaxed atmosphere. The food was great - try the smoked ribs ! Excellent. Service was poor though - put it down to the waiter just having an off day. Bit on the pricey side though for what you get. And puddings and desserts at £ 6.25 in a pub ? Really ? !"

  • "Took an American friend here to show off how well me can do ribs, have been a few times and the beef ribs (were) the best id ever had. However, this time was so disappointing, over cooked, dry and not as large as previously. I think it's become too successful for its own good. Also the service, got 2 drinks orders wrong for a sour and a beer on 2 separate occasions. I asked for the bill 3 times and it didn't come then the waitress told me I only had 10 minutes before the next booking so I asked for the 4th time... Incredible. Also I was reminded on the phone before I arrived that I had to leave before 8pm which want necessary, I already knew this from the booking form. Stressful and crowded, such a shame, will have to find a new rib joint"

  • "Ribs were outstanding!!! Overall some of the best ribs I have had outside of the US! Beef ribs were especially good, the décor is a fun rustic chic and there is a great selection of interesting beers. Perhaps the sides could use a little sprucing up as the choices were a bit limited."

  • "Terrific burger and a great beer selection on draft and in bottles"

  • "I've always felt that Duke's doesn't quite live up to its hype but that's probably because as a non-pork eater my options on the menu are quite limited! I can't eat the ribs they are most famous for! Staff here are friendly enough, not quite too cool to care which is often the case in this area but not exactly falling over themselves to help you either. We had chicken wings with a nuclear sauce - the top level of sauce. These were delicious with just the right kick if you are into spice - (don't be scared off by the name!) and a big beef rib to share with a portion of fries each. The was cooked well but I wasn't a massive fan of either of the sauces given. In short the food was decent but not really worth the price tag in my opinion."

  • "Great place for wholesome food sold in good portions. Small range of good beers, quality is better than quantity. Chilled and honest service. Local, so definitely going to be a regular."

  • "Great food, fantastic ribs and a great selection of beers"

  • "Took a friend of mine to Duke's on 4th July as she had never been, I had my usual Greatest Hits which as always hit the spot so well and my friend tried the special which was the Jam Doughnut which was so good, if not a tad on the small side. The staff are always friendly and the food just amazing! i want to go bac again!!"

  • "Awesome as always, ridiculously delicious food - if I lived locally I'd be the size of a house. 10/10, U really can't beat Dukes!"

  • "Nice room, good service, excellent beer menu. Not blown away by the food in terms of quality or vfm although did enjoy both the beef rib and pulled pork parts of the platter I ordered."

  • "Booked for an anniversary occasion. Seated immediately though we arrived early. Given a great recommendation on food. Great selection of drinks to try. Need to go a few more times to try it all!"

  • "Great restaurant. Amazing ribs and veggie options as well. The service is great, really clean and a fun pub area"

  • "Absolutely delicious meat. Ribs, pulled pork, chilli on chips, even the mac and cheese was full of meat. Epic. Cost us 40 a head for a big group meal, bit much but probably worth it. Our server, John, was really nice and did a great job of making sure we were happy with food, drink and even a little birthday surprise."

  • "I was so looking forward to dinner here as I had researched the restaurant and the reviews looked promising. I booked a table for Friday evening. The service was very very good but the food (I had the Pork Ribs and my partner had the pulled pork bun) was disappointing. The flavour just wasn't there at all. The ribs were very very fatty and I felt sick the rest of the evening. I absolutely love ribs and American grill food so I am used to eating ribs with some fat on them but this was just too much. I had pools of fat on my plate the the glaze on the ribs was burned and tasted bitter. The pulled pork just lacked any flavour which was really disappointing. As mentioned the service and atmosphere was really very good."

  • "My boyfriend and I had a fab time at Duke's Brew & Que - I highly recommend the Saint Bee cocktail, and my boyfriend was v. impressed by the range of beers on offer. The food was delicious as well, especially the pulled pork, steak and macaroni cheese. My one criticism would be that our table was right by two open doors (in fact, one door was missing) so meant that we were a little bit cold as the evening wore on. "

  • "My favourite BBQ in London. So good. The sampler plus a Mac n cheese is enough for 2 people. Get a beer flight as well. "

  • "I've been to Dukes quite a few times now and have never been disappointed. Excellent range of beers and fantastic food. The service is the thing that really stands out, I think Dukes has the best staff in London, always ready to help without being overbearing. "

  • "Relaxed friendly atmosphere. Good beers. The food was nice but not as good as some other barbecue places"

  • "Had an amazing night at Dukes again! Cannot recommend this place enough, small and cosy with incredible ribs! go for the greatest hits every time!!! thank you!"

  • "Amazing BBQ, fun, relaxed atmosphere, great service - unbeatable."
    dined on 23/05/2014
  • "Slightly disappointed. We both had the ribs which were quite fatty and over cooked which made them very chewy. The marinade was good but the BBQ sauces and slaw was pretty average. The cocktails we were warned didn't taste alcoholic which they didn't, for me this defeats the point if you're using good spirits. Instead they tasted watery. The redeeming feature is definitely the staff who were very friendly."
    dined on 23/05/2014
  • "We ordered the mixed platter to share. Garlic toast was tasty as was the pickled onions but that was about it. The pork rib was minuscule (hardly enough for one, let alone two). I've had better in a Chinese takeaway. The beef rib was dry and tasteless, thank goodness for the delicious side sauces. The pulled pork was very average as was the coleslaw...it did not taste home-made. At £25 plus £3 for fries it was very expensive for what we got. I would not visit again and would not recommend either."
    dined on 18/05/2014
  • "Fantastic barbecue! The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that my beef rib was a bit drier the second time I went. however, everything else was what you'd expect of a BBQ joint. Great for groups of friends!"

  • "great food, great service, wonderful dining experience"

  • "the ribs were outstanding, and the servers were lovely but when the bill arrived we were a bit surprised. 2 mains, one salad, and one beer and one coctail for £58. quite expensive for haggerston me thinks... "

  • "Only Bodeans can rival this beast for excellent BBQ meat, beef, pork and pulled prom all delicious, served alongside top quality craft beer."

  • "I have been going to Duke's for some time now. Quality of food and service is constant, and I keep going back. Apart from the vast number of beers, this place prepares meat like few others. Prices are reasonable and general atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. If it is your first time definitely for for the 'greatest hits'. Chicken wings are good also, but think twice before asking them to be extra spicy. "

  • "I came to Duke's for a burger which certainly didn't disappoint, I didn't particularly like the seasoning in the chips unfortunately, but there was so much food otherwise I didn't go huingry even though I didn't finish them. My boyfriend was delighted by the size of the ribs and they looked good and appropriately sticky and messy. But the best thing about Duke's is service, which was fast, smooth, friendly and knowledgeable from the man at the door to our waitress Joni. I wouldn't come here for a romantic dinner or a business meal as it's very very noisy, however it's a good place for a party. Cocktails were also fantastic!"

  • "Did not have the baby back ribs on my visit but the beef rib is excellent. The hostess was good in recommending what dishes we should order to be able to share among the whole table."

  • "Given the reviews i'd read I was looking forward to my visit to DB&Q. Some aspects of my my experience matched the 'hype' : - Positives - great range of beers (more on that later); staff friendly, efficient and welcoming; ambience excellent Negatives - menu choice limited; foot overpriced and one dimensional; the drinks were extortionately overpriced! In summary I'm glad I went but I am unlikely to either visit again or recommend to a friend"

  • "Wife and I were looking for a good BBQ meat platter to share and we've found a great one at Duke's. It's also good that you can arrive before the kitchen kicks off at 5pm and sample the extensive beer and cocktail menu. We'll be back for another crack at Duke's Greatest Hits!"

  • "Another great visit to Dukes, friendly staff, tasty BBQ and awesome beer range. Came with 4 others, we had the 16oz beef steak, greatest hits, and 3 burgers. We were all very impressed with the portions and flavour, most of the lads couldn't finish their food, with the meat coma lasting well after the meal. We even got the fried pickles for free as the chef decided they were not up to standard, but I would have been more than happy to pay as they were great. For drinks we had the Stone IPA, Rauchbier, and local brews from Partisan, Weird Beard, and Brew by Numbers, impressed as ever with the variety available. I always book in here when visiting London and would recommend the same to meat and beer lovers. "

  • "We very much enjoyed the meat feast we had (go for the big mixed platter!!). Also the big selection of ales (cast, keg, and draft). Friendly efficient service too. "

  • "One of the best, if not the best in London for American BBQ + excellent craft beer. What could go wrong?"

  • "Lovely food, slightly rubbish table near the bar. Check table is in the restaurant before visiting."

  • "Amazing selection of craft beers to pair with amazing ribs! If you like meat and you appreciate great beer don;t go anywhere else! The bartenders are also really knowledgeable about brewing which is great, I love going with their recommendations as there's so much to choose from."

  • "We had such a brilliant birthday experience. Food, beer, service and atmosphere were top draw. Go, you will not be disappointed!"

  • "This is the 4th time I have eaten here as I love it but was very disappointed the most recent time. I know the ribs are supposed to be charred but mine were burnt black. The waiter said that actually other people had complained about the same problem as well. The Manager came over and said would I like something different because he wouldnt want me to be dissapointed again, basically the whole batch was burnt. I got something else and after that I did not get offered another drink all night. Pretty gutted since I loved this place."
    dined on 18/04/2014
  • "Duke's Brew & Que is undeniably delicious. That much is true. The meat is absolutely fantastic - I had the pork ribs and some friends had the massive platters. For the size of the portion, the pricing is about right. My only question is how ethical is it to serve such large portion sizes when you know that many people will not be able to finish, and large amounts of food will be wasted? It would be an even better restaurant if the portion sizes were more reasonable and the prices a couple of quid less. And less animals would be wasted and less energy wasted on cooking them. I enjoyed the taste of my meal hugely but the guilt from excessive waste slightly dampened my dining experience."

  • "We've been to Dukes a number of times over the last 2/3 years and the amazing-ness of the ribs always delivers. They really are the best in London. Pleased to see that there have been a few subtle changes to the menu but nothing that messes with the essence of the place. The ribs, the new range of chicken wings and the fries were all superb. If you're looking for a great atmosphere, friendly staff and the best ribs (and meat) in London then go to Dukes."
