traditional Knickerbocker Glory desserts.

Far Rockaway is totally on-trend with its food and drink offerings. Cocktails on draught, usually only found at exclusive members’

sourced beers.

Street-smart art isn’t just for walls either, look up and you’ll see that Far Rockaway’s ceilings are covered with hundreds of eclectic
skateboard decks from cutting edge brands such as Alien Workshop and Consolidated.

All in all, it’s far more than just a night out drinking.

Diner Reviews
  • "We had dinner on a Tuesday night and the resturant was quite empty. The Service was very good, not bothering us too often and allowing us time to make decisions. The food was fantastic, although we ambitiously ordered too much. Exactly what I would expect from Amercian style menu, large sizes. Being able to order pizza by the slice was very good as with only two of us and one slice was plenty. Pizza was good, nothing outstanding but some good options and done well. The decour was also fascinating, including bookself full of comic books and skateboards on the cieling."

  • "We got a table right in front of a large tv to watch the football and enjoyed it with large pizzas and beer. It couldn't get much better than that. Great staff and good attention to detail as in they remembered me from the last time I visited."

  • "Went for an 18th birthday with the family so a mix of ages and taste. Was lively and fun in the restaurant area and option to go to the bar / dancing after. Great selection of cocktails which were made well. Food was as expected for an American diner - a little greasy but nicely done. Would go again if in the area."

  • "This place is great fun, the food is actually amazing - we're quite picky when it comes to American style food, but this is the real deal. Not expensive either, great drinks selection and the bar is a perfect mix of drinks, music and places to chill. Highly recommended"

  • "Great meal, great atmosphere after drinks - had a great time with good music, drinks and food."

  • "Great to have a bite before having a few beers. Food is nice enough and price is vary easy on the pocket. The decor is second to none though. Defo worth a look."

  • "Poor quality cocktails. Did not taste of the different ingredients, just a resounding overwhelming taste of artificial. Food average quality. They need a new recipe for the coleslaw! Sour and metallic tasting."

  • "Far Rockaway is a nie place with outstanding interior design. Ideal for group of friends. Staff is friendly but it can be difficult to get their attention to your table when the restaurant is crowded."

  • "Awesome decor, food was ok although I was more impressed by the skateboards our food arrived on over the actual food hah. Staff are lovely too. Will certainly return when I'm next in shoreditch!"

  • "banana margaritas had no flavor whatsoever. crab cakes tasted like fish cakes from tesco. they sucked. for £8 for two, it was a total rip off. they were warm, not even hot and they were simply awful. we were asked to arrive early so the kitchen could close early. we wanted to order something else since the appetizer was so bad but we couldnt!!!! imagine going to a restaurant and the kitchen closes early!!!!!!!!! extremely disappointing, never ever again!"

  • "Went to Far Rockaway for my husband's 53rd birthday so we were the oldest people there but still enjoyed the experience. The decor was amazing, the food and service both good. We left quite early when things were starting to get going. Music was good and not overly loud to prevent conversation. Guess it gets louder later. All in all a really good experience."

  • "Very disappointing that this was not working, on these days this service is key and it was rather embarrassing and inconvenient to ask people to find and ATM close by to get cash to settle the bill. Speaks very bad of the restaurant management not giving the sufficient priority to fix this issue"

  • "The art on the walls, looping Rolling Stones DVD and atmosphere were great but sadly the food was mediocre at best. We had chicken wings, pizza, beef and chicken burgers and nobody was blown away. Burger buns were cheap and poor quality, the burgers themselves were 'ok' but given the choice in London these days that doesn't cut it. Sides of chips and onion rings were probably from a packet. No card payments accepted, but in fairness we were told this when they confirmed the booking."

  • "The venue is fantastic. Reminds me of time spent in LA in the 90's - I recognise alot of the band posters, & was even at one of the shows! Atmosphere is cosy, comfortable & staff are very friendly. Food - could do better. I had the fsh fingers, chips & coleslaw (the chef kindly substituted colesalw for peas, as I have an aversion to the little green nasties!) Chips were nicely seasoned, crispy & hot.Coleslaw a thicker dressing would be preferable, & a good dollop of mustard in there would pep it up a bit. Fish fingers were greasy, bland, & very small! My dining partner had the Macaroni Cheese spring rolls - which she said were quite bland. The macaroni was dry. Her words: "Needs to be more saucy!" Would expect better for the prices."

  • "I went to this joint with some friends expecting a Cajun cookout style restaurant. When we arrived we soon realised it was a giant sports bar with enormous screens showing footie on every wall! The menu was more a NYC pizza joint, we ordered a large bland pizza and sides such as mac & cheese and chicken wings, not the best I've had.. soul food minus the soul. However the bill was cheap, we shall return for a beer but definitely not for food."

  • "Went for "Reggae Roast" as per advertised on their website, however waiter looked at me as though I was an alien when asking for this. OK turns out no roast (update your website). Ended up having fat infested ribs and soggy oven fries, washed down with £7 bottle of Brooklyn. Ludicrous price for a bottle of basic beer. Ambience is great, food and drinks not so."
    dined on 17/11/2013
  • "Ordered ribs, chicken wings & chips: Ribs were drowned in a sickly sweet sauce which was cloying after just one rib. Wings weren't a patch on Nando's and came with what I thought was mayo - found a lump of blue cheese submerged at the end. Chips were the crinkle-cut frozen type, little underdone. Wouldn't go here to eat but drinks are probably a safe bet. Next table had a giant pizza that looked edible and would feed 2+."

  • "Went on a Sunday evening. Blown away by the awesome art collection & graffiti. Also loved the skateboards. I went on an Instagram rampage taking photos. Comfy sofas. Perfect for chillin' with friends. The cocktails were great my favourite the Peanut butter cup. We shared a pizza between 3 which was perfect. The Farrockaway Hot was spicy & right up my street. Service was friendly. Would definitely return & recommend highly for a chilled out evening with friends."

  • "If you love music, street art and graffiti this is the diner for you! The decor of this place just blew me away. Every square inch is covered with incredible urban art, limited edition rock gig prints and art installations. We went here for a Sunday brunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was great diner fare with a twist (try the mac n cheese sping roll!) especially the hotdogs and crinkle cut fries. I wish I would have arrived a little more hungry as the portions were large. Our waiter was very friendly, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be back, maybe this time on a Saturday night to sample their cocktails on draft! Another Shoreditch gem in the making."

  • "Stumbled across this restaurant on Top Table as Red Dog Saloon was fully booked & needed a table at short notice for my partners Birthday. Read the reviews & after visiting the website which said they had a library of 4000 Marvel & DC comics I was sold (partner is a massive fan!!). Great choice of restaurant, the food is amazing!! 6 of us went & 5 of us had the Coca Cola ribs & every one of is said "Best Ribs Ever!!". Cheesecake was amazing too!! Service was good but not great as felt the waitress wasn't really interested. Very good value for money, main, dessert & cocktails for £70 per couple. I would defo recommend Far Rockaway."

  • "We went for lunch and the place was empty so I would probabaly say it would be best to eat in the evening once the place beomes livelier. The staff during the day seemed to be a bit dazed half the time and I was a bit put out by the £17 service charge from our tab, which of course covers the drinks we bought aswel, as I did not think the service was worth this one bit, given parts of our order were forgotten and therefore late to the table. Additionally both me and my mate ordered the peanut butter buttercup cocktail which is supposed to be served with a Reese's cupcake but they said they had run out, how I don't know as we must of been the first people there that day, and we weren;t offered any dicsount because of this out of good will."

  • "Had dinner and drinks here on Friday night. When you walk in it all seemed a little crazy- the place was packed, the music pounding. But that's to be expected on Friday in Shoreditch! The dining area is a little quieter which is good. Service was friendly and attentive, our waiter provided us with a constant flow of tap water which was a nice touch. Food was good but not amazing- we all had burgers and chips and they were enjoyable although not memorable. But I don't think you come here for a gourmet meal, that's not really the point of this place. Portions were big, and drinks were fab. We all had a great time."
    dined on 01/11/2013
  • "Thoroughly enjoyable dining experience with very attentive staff. The pizza was great and the venue even better. Good music and vibe. Only downside was that the house white wine wasn't that good. Otherwise a nice and relaxed place to go eat."
    dined on 01/11/2013
  • "The ambiance was great - it's a huge space with interesting design. The pizzas are huge - we shared two among 4 people and it was more than enough. This is a good place if you are looking for American-style pizza, rather than Italian. My friend got the mac & cheese with rock crab, which still had some crab shell in it."
    dined on 30/10/2013
  • "Massive restaurant with hardly anyone in it and mad stuff on the walls everywhere! Awful expensive food. Really awful crinkle cut chips, tasted like oven chips. Go to Meat Liquor instead."
    dined on 28/10/2013
  • "I enjoyed my visit but think it was probably expensive for the level of food you get. I wouldnt eat there again but would go there in the evening for drinks with a group."
    dined on 28/10/2013
  • "Mixed reviews here, the pizza I would recommend, great value and it's massive. We were told that we couldn't have the burgers pink in the middle because it's against health and safety, even if we specially requested it (no other restaurant I've been to have any problems serving medium rare burgers). As we expected the meat was overcooked and flavourless and the juice destroyed the bun after the first bite. The chips weren't great either. It was also quite expensive considering you can get an honest burger for £8. There's no soft drink menu so you have to guess what you want and alcoholic drinks are overpriced. The design is impressive and I imagine the atmosphere on a fri/sat is great. Worth a visit for the bar, not so much food."
    dined on 27/10/2013
  • "This place is great for a night out of drinking, a bite to eat, or both! The food is fab, i tried the fish the first time i went and the pizza the next time. Both were brilliant. The pizzas are great value and you can share them with your pals."
    dined on 26/10/2013
  • "The venue is amazing with lots of cool street art. Atmosphere was great and staff extremely friendly. I would recommend Parmigiana Popcorn Shrimps which were absolutely delicious. Very good burger and cocktails as well. Great place for food and few drinks. I will definitely be going back to this place."
    dined on 25/10/2013
  • "This street art themed venue is stunning. The food was great on the night and we had some great cocktails too. Standouts were the Peanut Butter Cup cocktail, Cola Ribs and the Cheesecake."
    dined on 23/10/2013
  • "If you are after an American diner experience this is just the place. Very relaxed setting, huge screens showing football. The menu includes some healthy options as well as many to clog your arteries. Still, everything is well executed, the ambiance studiously cool, and the service very friendly, so it is worth the indulgence."
    dined on 22/10/2013
  • "The food was pretty average, and that was being kind. We didn't eat most of it, it just wasn't good - the shrimp tasted better than it looked though. Things like the coleslaw swimming in mayonnaise was a turn off, the meatballs were just uninspiring and the ribs were just pretty awful in every way. A special mention goes to the slimy buffalo wings with rubbery skins. The pizzas looked OK (and are massive) though. If you do end up here, pizza and beers with friends is probably the way to go."
