Diner Reviews
  • "We gather with some friends for lunch and selected the 3 course menu during the week. The started was delicious. The main course that each of us ordered (2 of various options) wasn't good at all, bland and presentation wasn’t exciting. The sweet was good along with a nice coffee. The ambiance was fantastic, relax and fun. The people were friendly and polite and the service was perfect. Overall, it is a fantastic place to catch up with friends without the crowds."

  • "A warm and welcoming restaurant. The fish dishes we had was wonderfully served - John Dory and Red Mullet"

  • "Excellent food and service. However, we were virtually the only customers and that detracted from the atmosphere. The bar beside the restaurant was also nearly empty."

  • "This isn't the first time we've dined at this restaurant but it was the first time we've eaten since the new chef arrived in January. The food was excellent, beautifully presented and a good variety. Both my husband and I had the mushroom risotto to start which was the most flavoursome I've ever eaten. I had the duck for main course and my husband had the pork both were excellent. We both had lemon meringue for dessert. This was the nicest lunch I've had in a long time. The chef is excellent."

  • "Great food and service but restaurant was very quiet so lacked atmosphere."

  • "The food was fine but the menu was limited and as a result disappointing. Felt we were rushed initially."

  • "A friend and I decided to go for a new experience..hence the 5th Floor of Harvey Nichols. As we approached the only real surprise of the evening was no other diners in the restaurant. The bar on the other hand was full! Not to worry we were greeted by lovely staff and the food was great. The deal we had included a glass of prosecco which was really nice. The restaurant is as impressive as all the pictures and I would definitely return again."

  • "Beautiful setting, lovely service and whilst it was practically empty at the time of our booking 8pm on a Tuesday . I would definitely recommend for the food service and the look of the restaurant."

  • "Went there on a Thursday night for supper, it was surprisingly quiet. The reception was nice but the other staff was quite unfriendly. Anyway the food was nice, the place is quite spacious. Kinda modern style decorations, not really romantic, more like a place for friendly socials on a special day."

  • "The restaurant is connected with the champagne bar so perfect of a couple of drinks after dinner"

  • "I ate at Harvey Nichols on Sunday lunchtime with my husband, It must have been at a different Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge to the previous reviewer, We found the food and service fantastic, such friendly helpful staff and beautiful prepared elegant food. Great experience We will defiantly be back."

  • "Harvey Nichols Fifth Floor restaurant may be the venue of choice for ladies who shop and lunch but it is dead by the time the shop has closed. The menu sounds great, but is over-priced and tasteless in reality. Service was friendly and efficient, but staff resorted to ironing the tablecloths by 9 pm, with only 3 tables to serve! No wonder it was possible to book a table on Saturday night with only 24 hrs notice!"

  • "Visited Harvey Nicks restaurant with my teenage daughter as a special treat. That's exactly what it was. Delicious beautifully presented food which was just mouthwatering. The service was just spot on. Gave us just the right time between courses. I have already told several people about this restaurant and will definitely be back myself. My first Top Table reservation will be hard to beat!"

  • "What a fantastic offer at a wonderful location - the food was great, the service, excellent as expected and the setting, simply devine. I look forward to the offer reappearing as will make sure I shall be visiting again."

  • "I wanted a simple lunch with a girlfriend during a shopping jaunt. The restaurant was mostly empty, menu choices limited and overall feeling was a bit chilly and too pretentious. There is also a cafe and Burger & Lobster place on the 5th Floor or Harvey Nicholls which would probably have been a more enjoyable lunch for us."
    dined on 17/01/2014
  • "Maybe we picked the wrong night 30 Dec but with only 2 other tables it was dead. That said staff were great and so was the food! I think it is a better venue for a late lunch when all the shoppers are around and it has a buzz. Also maybe on a day which died not preceed New Year's Eve."

  • "My husband and I visit this restaurant a few times a year. The food is always great and consistent. The beef we recently was especially good this time. Wish this would stay on the menu! The atmosphere in the restaurant is always good and the menu varies throughout the seasons."

  • "Was really surprised at how nice this restaurant was, well decorated, really good service and food, all well executed. The appetizers were delicious and well balanced, and the entrees were also great. Nothing to complain about except that it took a LONG time to get the coffee (hence a star deduction on the service) after the meal but otherwise all well. And very kid friendly too - my kids were happy with the food options too."
    dined on 22/12/2013
  • "My husband, 3 year old and I thought we would celebrate my birthday with an afternoon tea at Harvey Nichols. Unfortunately is was not as lovely as we hoped. The room was half empty and yet we had to wait until they had re laid a table for us. The tea was incorrectly poured and the food was lovely, but it was more akin to a chocolate sweet trolley rather than a cream tea. They served a chocolate martini as well, but neither of us drink, so it was a little lost on us. The staff were friendly when they stopped to serve us, but considering the restaurant wasn't busy, they seemed to be in a rush!"
    dined on 15/12/2013
  • "The fifth floor is a great restaurant, but it's proximity to the cocktail bar can spoil the ambiance rather as noise invades making it less relaxing than it otherwise might be. The food was of a high standard, but the service a little slow and my partner's main course (actually a second starter) initially was not what was ordered and had to go back."
    dined on 11/12/2013
  • "Good food, good ambience - away from the maddening crowd."
    dined on 09/12/2013
  • "Having lost the charm and visual uniqueness with the brown beige make over...probably a few changes in the kitchen team...they may finally be on their way back... Getting rid of the over priced boring menus amongst some "can't be bothered" set menus with what seemed like every online website...of the last year ....with something more reasonable and different.. Had octopus & soft shell crab to start! Yum... Great after shopping ... Staff friendly and prompts... When I complained about the stingy portion of deliciously creamy coconut ice cream, another was presented! Not bad... Good to see some niceness back!"
    dined on 26/11/2013
  • "Great food and interior design, but poor service. I made a reservation for 16-17 people, but we managed to be 21-22. The Restaurant manager and receptionist behaved terribly. The extra 5 friends turned up one by one. Each of them had to wait for a long time, before they were ALLOWED to sit down. Every time I had to ask the permission of the restaurant manager to have them sited like she was the customer and I was their servant. Such an attitude, I’ve never seen before. Maybe I would understand a bit more their behaviour, if they were really busy, but there were so many free tables. The service at the table was slow, not really used with big groups."
    dined on 16/11/2013
  • "Harvey Nichols has the cachet, a decent venue and an excellent French lady manager. But some of the food is not of a standard that you would find on HN's own shelves. The wines are excellent. Service is friendly but not classy; the UK problem, we do not respect the profession sufficiently."
    dined on 09/11/2013
  • "Enjoyed the food and the speedy service. A large table with drunken people close by spoiled the atmosphere. Not the restaurants fault, but perhaps they should try and organise big groups in a slightly more separate area so everyone can have the dinner they want."
    dined on 09/10/2013
  • "You would expect Harvey Nicks to be bustling with fashionistas and atmosphere. All sadly lacking and the scruffy, short wearing tourists did not help. The lunch menu was poor in its selection and the house wine terrible. So all in all not good, which is a shame as it used to be such fun."
    dined on 20/08/2013
  • "Had high expectations of Season, Harvey Nics new restaurant - I was not disappointed. We kicked started our lunch with beautiful summer cocktails, which were refreshing and perfect for the summer heat. For starter I opted for a mackeral veloute and caviar, the way it was presented was amazing and the flavours blended so well. For the mains I had cod, which just melted in my mouth, my partner had the seabream and saffron rice, which was equally esquisite in texture and flavour. Beautiful! The restaurant was decorated with summer trees, which was interesting, but worked well and made the room have a fresh feel. The staff were great too. Highly recommend!"

  • "The lunch menu surprisingly affordable and pretty good value for money. Wines superb as was service. We had a lovely afternoon with friends to celebrate a little, and it did feel special. I only wish other patrons would think it as special and not turn up scruffy and eat their burgers with coats on! I wonder if the staff could gently do something about it."
    dined on 24/05/2013
  • "I took the 30 quid - 3 course + cocktail offer. Starters and mains were decent, dessert was good, but you only get 9 dishes to chose from (3 each for each course). Not sure how good the regular menu was as we didn't see it."
    dined on 17/05/2013
  • "I booked the fifth floor for afternoon tea, after two mix ups with timings and crossed phone calls, I was thoroughly looking forward to our visit. Unfortunately it was not as special as I had imagined. Although very nice, and fantastic service, the additional costs and water plus 12.5 service charge put FifthFloor into The Ritz price bracket. In comparison, The Ritz is far superior for the same money."

  • "I had a friend visiting from Canada so I wanted somewhere special to take her for afternoon tea. Harvey Nichols theme their afternoon tea and change it every couple of months. The new theme is 'The Great Gatsby'. It was beautifully done. Every little detail had been though out and the atmosphere was lovely with 1920's music playing in the background. The waiting staff couldn't have been nicer or more attentive and pleasant. The food was spectacular! It's a gorgeous menu and a very memorable experience. Highly recommend."

  • "Hadn't been to Fifth Floor Harvey Nicholls for a year or 2 so was surprised to see it had been revamped. We started in the bar (has to be done, doesn't it?) and enjoyed a bellini cocktail on a very comfortable chaise longue. Then to the restaurant, all light and airy with a very floral theme. Food was delicious with an interesting menu and the service was attentive without being intrusive. Also, being able to book a table last-minute on the toptable website, when I really was last minute, worked perfectly"

  • "A group of us went to celebrate a friends birthday. The first think that strikes you is the enchanting decor of the restaurant. lined with blossom walking out of the already lavish 5th floor bar into this is a great start to any evening. The seasons menu is a really good concept, and well priced to add to this the staff are really receptive and added to the whole experience. The food did not disappoint either following on from our experience so far. All the ingredients oozed with flavour and some bold combinations bring out the best in the restaurants name. My only quarrel was the ambience being in a large group it was ok but with only a few other diners in (Tuesday) it could get a bit agoraphobic. But don't let it put you of give it a go."
    dined on 09/04/2013
  • "My husband and I had a lovely lunch here - a very welcome diversion from our shopping spree. The food was good but unfortunately there was a group of 10 people at a table on the other side of the room who had clearly been drinking a fair bit and were very loud. The hard surface of the curved ceiling did nothing to dampen the sound and it was actually quite difficult for my husband and I to carry on a discussion over the noise of the other diners. Perhaps we were just unlucky on the day. It was not apparent that the restaurant staff noticed or were prepared to do anything about the inconvenience to the other customers."

  • "We had a lovely afternoon tea at Fifth Floor, Harvey Nichols. The staff couldn't have been more pleasant and the food was delicious. I would definitely return."

  • "This was my first time to the 5th floor at Harvey Nic's - don't know what took me so long to go there! Food, service and ambience were all excellent. We had the Viva Forever 3-course set menu with Champagne Cocktail for £30, which was excellent. I asked to substitute a dessert for one from the a la carte menu, which they did with no problem (NB. the Doughnuts with Salted Caramel dip were divine!). Already planning my next trip back, highly recommend."

  • "This is a very trendy and successful place where to spend your time. Nice people, very good service, good food, but probably necessary a review of the wine list. We have spent 3 hours with a background of nice live music, in a very romantic mood."

  • "One always looks forward to gastronomic trip in our favourite spaceship. The spaceship, on this evening however, had been transformed to a delightful country barn with the stewards dressed up as country squires down to elbow-patched tweed coats and ascots. The food was delightful, risotto and truffles was a sure hit. Looked forward to rabbit, but was pacified with the veal."

  • "We eat out regularly at top restaurants. We expected it to be expensive but also imagined the food would be excellent. We were hugely disappointed with the food, which was bland and unimaginative and shocked by the price. Check the menu first I would suggest. Certainly not worth the money."
