Diner Reviews
  • "We were slightly disappointed with the food we received - although the flavours were nice, the lamb was very tough and extremely fatty. It was difficult to cut through even with a steak knife. The only two other diners there (surprising as it was the day after Valentine'e Day) were obviously unhappy with their choice too, as we kept seeing plates of food be sent back. Such a shame because the restaurant itself is so lovely - set out very well and has the potential to be great."

  • "Stylish restaurant in an attractive boutique Mayfair hotel."

  • "- amuse-Bouche were old, tasteless - a mixte of Indian veg samosa with some strong French cheese crackers - weird mix - bread was stale - butter was liquified - our chateaubriand looked like a piece of beef's lungs covered of blood; the least appetizing piece of meat ever - beef burger looked like already digested meat rather than minced. The meat was smelling like vinegar We could not eat anything. Besides we were wondering if the hygiene standards were respected - from the smell once we entered to the waiters' outfits cleanliness. In some words, the management should really review everything as of now it is a disaster! (Although few waiters were absolutely helpful and well mannered like Faruk)"

  • "Had a good business breakfast but the waiting staff seemed very inexperienced & asked us way too many times whether everything was OK. They kept hovering & interrupting our conversation which was quite irritating. Food was great though."

  • "In the Green Park/Park Lane area, you seem to have a choice of noisy, bustling restaurants or quiet hotel dining rooms. Flemings is definitely in the latter category. We were the only lunch booking they had, so it was very quiet indeed. That actually worked well for us since we could talk candidly and there was no background noise. Food was pretty good though portions were quite small and the small piece of cod fillet I had for mains was a bit overdone (a little solid, dry and chewy, not moist and flaky) Price was OK considering the area. One thing I didn't like is that when we asked for a top-up of water, they opened a bottle of (expensive) Hildon every time, and took away the remaining half bottle. That is pretty sharp practice I'd say."

  • "Flemings is a hotel restaurant but unlike most hotel restaurants, small and intimate, reflecting the hotel itself. What was really impressive was the quality and price - this, after all, is a 5star luxury hotel. The wine list is superb and again extraordinary good money. The environment is 5star luxury hotel but somehow relaxed and under-stated. Well worth it."

  • "An excellent and intimate experience - even at breakfast."

  • "Had a very relaxing meal at Flemings, the food was great as was the service. Great value for Mayfair and well worth checking out the bar after."

  • "Restaurant is underground and feels quite enclosed. Service althoguh attentive was not very responsive and ultimately fairly slow. Food was pleasant, wine list was pretty limited"

  • "Nice ambience throughout especially in the bar area for pre-dinner drinks. Had problems booking with them direct and not particularly helpful as we were staying overnight in one of their rooms. Could be more choice on the menu we thought and am afraid the service was not that great. Would recommend but they need to improve restaurant service."

  • "We really enjoyed the excellent food and outstanding service that Flamings has to offer. The ambience was very relaxed and the overall experience memorable. I would definitively recommend this place to anyone."

  • "We dined pre Curzon Theatre. They state a glamorous and opulent Mayfair restaurant at one of London's oldest established luxury hotels. The menu defines modern European with big robust colourful flavours and quality seasonal ingredients. Everything you would expect from a special meal for two. We will definitely be coming back and recommend our friends."

  • "First booking I've made for Flemings of Mayfair, I was very happy with my choice. £29.50 offer included canapes, champagne cocktail, 3 course choice from A La Carte and tea or coffee. I also had a bottle of wine & water with the meal, so, Including service, it was around £90 for 2 people. Firstly, the lady on reception made us feel welcome, she offered us the choice of taking our cocktail & canapes in the bar, or the restaurant. We chose the bar, the decor was funky, stylish and comfortable. The staff in the bar were friendly & polite. We had a decent table in the restaurant, with enough space around us for privacy. The waiter was knowledgeable and friendly too, his timing and his demeanour was perfect. Food was delicious. I will return."

  • "Although the ambience of Flemings Mayfair is rather Americano and nouveau, it has been tarted up with no expense spared. Just good taste was missing. But the evening was first class. Excellent cocktail and canapes, and really first class food which left my 2 American hosts delighted, and our French colleague enchanted. Great value, good standard."

  • "The Toptable offer is simply an outstanding value. The food was very good with more choices than you usually get with a prix fixe and there were a couple of tasty amuse bouches thrown in as well. The one weakness was the service. The staff were very friendly and helpful but the service was very slow. It's nice not to be rushed through a meal but ours took more than three and half hours, which is a bit much. There was a particularly long gap between when we finished desert and when we were offered coffee which was quite annoying. I wouldn't hesitate to go again though. It was a very nice meal."

  • "Food was excellent - particlularly the canapes. Ambience in the bar was spoilt by the TV Service was good very good value for money"

  • "A lovely location and excellent value. Great cocktails to start and a pretty romantic setting. The food was nothing special, especially for a 5 star hotel. In addition, although the service was friendly it wasn't that professional considering the setting and the music choice wasn't suitable for the venue. So, a lovely environment however not really a top choice over all. There is much better food in central London if one is looking for quality."

  • "We recently dined at Flemings for the first time. Decor was unusual and provoked some discussion. Top Table offer provided excellent value and wine list was reasonably priced. Worth a visit."

  • "I dined with my partner at Flemings and was disappointed with the meal by the end. Cocktails and canapes were great, starters poor - best items not available and mackrel over-cooked, mains fair but nothing special, best course the pudding of pannacotta - delicious. It's a shame as the service was good and the dinning room had a good ambience for 7pm on a Wednesday. Hotel restaurants are generally good to excellent in Mayfair and St James, so maybe that's why I was disappointed or Flemings may need to up their game. £100+ for T/T 4 course menu, plus one side order, two glasses of wine and a bottle of sparkling water."

  • "I went with 4 family members to celebrate a birthday on Friday 1st June. Toptable offer was fantastic - cocktails and amuse bouche, lovely dinner, finished off with teas & coffees. Such a smart venue and service was good. The only thing that was slightly disappointing was that the wine list was wrong - a few bottles were unavailable and we weren't given any alternatives for the same price nor an apology. The evening was great and we'd definitely go back."

  • "Very intimate feel to the bar area. Lovely ambience. Pre theatre dinner good value and service was good. Had issue with my ginger ale however which had far too much ice added to the glass and subsequently tasted nothing like ginger ale. Apart from that however a very pleasant dining experience and I would definitely go back."

  • "Flemings in Mayfair was a really great dining experience - we were happy with each course, the wine and the service, however, the lack of music did bring down the ambience a little. Perhaps this is just a matter of the hotel and restaurant being new and the music not being installed, but it would be much better to have.."

  • "Fleming's Mayfair is one of the few places that's modern with a classic feel. The food was phenomenal. Have the lamb. The mirror room is an interesting thing to see, but the bar for cocktails is something we'll have to return to one day."

  • "Five minutes from Green Park in what is called these days a secret hotel you have this place dowstairs. The service was perfect and weopted for the 4 course meal.Italian wine at £22 was good.Overall a really good experience and the place started to fill up at about 8.The whole routine took about 2 hours so you cant be in a hurry but a realy good experience. Total bill £100 for two."

  • "Amazing value! All three courses a la carte - with the treat of cocktails and canapes in the bar first. Great service and surroundings - a really good offer."

  • "Flemings Grill (50% offer) is an interesting venue! Good location but you enter hotel and are ushered through to the rear bar/restaurant area - many mirrors and rather 80's decor... The offer included aperitif etc which was good but service was slow. The restaurant was quiet despite it being a Friday evening - no doubt that is why they were offering 50% off. The food and house wines were v good and service friendly if amateur. I would recommend a visit with the 50% offer."

  • "A great find, excellent attentive service, distinctive decor, and an imaginative menu. Only slight let down was a rather empty dining room - on a Thursday evening."

  • "This was our third visit to the Flemings Mayfair, and what a disappointment!! What has happened to the wonderful food? The main course (chicken) was bland and tasteless and the dessert was forgettable. The ambience was dreadful: no background music and only 10 people in the restaurant. When we arrived, they automatically asked if we had a voucher (as if everyone who eats there presents a voucher on arrival). It turns out we were the only 2 diners paying full price. The saving grace was the service, which we cannot fault. Our waitress was very attentive but discreet, and the cocktails were good. We are very sorry to say we will not return to the Flemings Mayfair. What a shame... Very, very disappointed... A waste of £130."

  • "Flemings Grill, Half Moon Street, London, W1 Waited at restaurant entrance for approx 10 mins in queue without any acknowledgement. Service INCREDIBLY slow - arrived 7.20 pm for 7.30 pm booking and did not receive our main course until 10.00 PM. Good when eventually served, although had to ask for our amuse bouche which was listed as being included in part of our offer. Disappointed they did not have a second bottle of the red wine we had ordered so had to settle for a different one."

  • "Immensely disappointing menu and food quality with absolutely no atmosphere (due to the fact it was almost empty… on valentines night – need I say more). The Poussen was served ‘bloody’ and then I was told it was fine to eat. The couple of other tables in the restaurant were served complimentary sorbets because a couple of their dishes were messed up – when I queried this, we were told that we were not entitled to any despite being served a Poussen that needed to be re-cooked! Expensive, disappointing and one to avoid."

  • "The parsnip soup to begin was good, the flanksteak ("bevette") was very tough and chewy, and the clafoutis was good. The restaurant suffers from hotel-icitus and the decor of the restaurant and bar do not reflect the menu."
