A word from Friends Restaurant
Take the freshest possible ingredients, sourced locally whenever possible – even supplied by our own customers on occasion! Prepare with care and cook to mouth watering perfection. Accompany with wines from a varied and ever changing list of carefully selected New and Old World labels. Last but not least, enjoy in the warm, friendly atmosphere of Pinner’s landmark restaurant, Friends. Isn’t that what dining out should be about? We think so.

Under the guiding hand and palette of Savoy trained, Chef Patron, Terry Farr, Friends has built an enviable reputation for delivering affordable fine dining in a uniquely friendly ambience. Though we may be nestled in a 500 year old building, our culinary heart is very much of today with, a choice of A la carte or fixed price menus that combine the best of British and French cuisines, enlivened with modern combinations.

The best thing about our visit was the service, the waitresses were lovely, but that is not the point of going to a restaurant! A summary of the food we ate follows: 1. Haggis with poached ducks egg - severely lacking in taste. 2. Onion tart with brie - pastry not cooked all the way through. 3. Wild mushroom gnocchi -severe lack of wild mushrooms. 4. Black bream - fish overcooked and skin not crispy. 5. Chocolate fondant - almost a cake ie. cooked too long. We chose Friends over Galvin at Windows on this occasion, and it was a big mistake.

After reading so many positive reviews of the Friends restaurant, I had high expectations but they were not quite met. Service was great but it should be given the 12.5% service charge added to the bill. The food was ok but not fantastic. The rabbit starter was actually a terrine and cold which I did not expect. The sea bream for main course is nice. I changed the sweet potato side to potato fondant and it was a bit tasteless. We didn't have dessert and opted for tea with petit four which was lovely and we could tell that it was made by the restaurant. I will go back again but order a different starter next time.

We have dined at Friends a number of times over the years and Terry and his team never disappoint. Great food and wine expertly served at great value prices from a restaurant that is highly rated in the local area. If you are a visitor to London you can easily reach Pinner by train and a short walk in 30 mins. So why not experience a great meal in a very pleasant location for a lot less than you would pay in London?

Recently I went to Friends for the first time in nearly 8 years to find that it has lost none of its ambiance, commitment to good customer service and, above all, its dedication to serving outstanding food. The experience was a welcome return to find the restaurant's standards are as high today as when I last visited. I recommend it for the skill of the cooking and the variety of the menu. Combine this with attentive staff and a charming oak-beamed setting and you have a winner!

We had Sunday dinner here. The food was excellent, nice and hot and portions just right. The service was extremely good, not rushed (last servings at 2.00 on Sunday) and the right amount of time left in between courses with everything correct. The surroundings are charming and very clean. The wine menu has a good choice of excellent wines. Overall, a thoroughly lovely experience enjoyed by all of us. Would definitely recommend and will be returning.

There's not a lot of decent competition in this area (on the web site). The 2 course and 3 course set prices are much better value than the a la carte, the food is good to very good, the service was friendly and efficient and overall I thought it was good but not great.

This is a little gem of a restaurant and by a country mile the best in our area. You would normally have to go to Central London to get food this good. You are made to feel very welcome on arrival and throughout your stay. The service is excellent - non intrusive yet attentive. I had the rillettes of duck followed by roast lamb with dauphinoise potatoes all washed down with a lovely bottle of Argentinian Malbec. To finish I had the neatest Eton mess ever. Delicious! Friends is recommended for anyone who enjoys good food in a charming setting.

I never have the highest expectations of the food at restaurants in the outer depths of London suburbia but I was pleasantly surprised by the 'Friends Restaurant' in Pinner. The main dining room on the ground floor is comfortable and pleasant, with a large window overlooking the High Street. The maitre d' was utterly charming and very helpful; service generally was efficient and pleasant; and, most surprising of all, the food was expertly cooked and well presented. It is not perhaps at the cutting edge of haute cuisine but comprises good ingredients precisely cooked. I should be most happy to eat here again and to recommend this venue to others for a most enjoyable lunch.

The food was everything we expected however our table was upstairs in a poor location, I had a view of the wine storage and the fridge door every time it was opened and my husband was seated next to the opening into the room, so he was hit with the noise from the next room and people were passing close to his back. The staff were all delightful and efficient and as the food was so good we would certainly revisit but not if we were to be seated in the same location.

The starter and main course were very nice. I really didn't enjoy the dessert but maybe that was a bad choice on my part. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. Not the best choice for a chin wag with a friend as I felt as though I should be whispering! It was nice but maybe more suited to a romantic meal.

We booked on the 25% off the dinner with Friends three course menu and this was excellent value. We had charming service and the food was great. Two carnivores and one vegetarian had plenty of choice from this menu - we were offered extra vegetarian options if the gnocchi on the menu was not wanted. And it was all delicious. All in all highly recommended.

Who would think that such good restaurants exist in Pinner as well. I was a bit sceptical, but was pleasantly surprised to find that the food and service was as good as it gets. A small cottagey kid of restaurant but a good chef and good service too. Good to go with friends and family as well.

We have eaten at Friends several times over the past 5 years and unfortunately this time our experience went from excellent to just good. The set menu is potentially interesting but our dishes were put together with flavours that just did not go together. Service was ok but our water glasses were not topped up all evening. For the price, popping next door might have been a better option!

Four of us dined here - we were looking for a 'posh restaurant'. Three of us had the haggis in whiskey sauce as a starter, this was delicious, but we all thought it was too heavy a dish for starters. For Mains, we had either the beef which was delicious , or the fish which was either bream or salmon. The salmon was very-over cooked - more like chicken round the edges. My bream was quite nice but nothing special to be honest. The evening did not get off to a good start, I had to send-back a bottle of Cotes du Rhone which had a definite sour taste. The wine waiter agreed with my assessment and the bottle was replaced without fuss. The service was good, but overall it was an expensive meal and not as good as we had expected.
