This is a little gem of a restaurant and by a country mile the best in our area. You would normally have to go to Central London to get food this good. You are made to feel very welcome on arrival and throughout your stay. The service is excellent - non intrusive yet attentive. I had the rillettes of duck followed by roast lamb with dauphinoise potatoes all washed down with a lovely bottle of Argentinian Malbec. To finish I had the neatest Eton mess ever. Delicious! Friends is recommended for anyone who enjoys good food in a charming setting.

I never have the highest expectations of the food at restaurants in the outer depths of London suburbia but I was pleasantly surprised by the 'Friends Restaurant' in Pinner. The main dining room on the ground floor is comfortable and pleasant, with a large window overlooking the High Street. The maitre d' was utterly charming and very helpful; service generally was efficient and pleasant; and, most surprising of all, the food was expertly cooked and well presented. It is not perhaps at the cutting edge of haute cuisine but comprises good ingredients precisely cooked. I should be most happy to eat here again and to recommend this venue to others for a most enjoyable lunch.

The food was everything we expected however our table was upstairs in a poor location, I had a view of the wine storage and the fridge door every time it was opened and my husband was seated next to the opening into the room, so he was hit with the noise from the next room and people were passing close to his back. The staff were all delightful and efficient and as the food was so good we would certainly revisit but not if we were to be seated in the same location.

The starter and main course were very nice. I really didn't enjoy the dessert but maybe that was a bad choice on my part. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. Not the best choice for a chin wag with a friend as I felt as though I should be whispering! It was nice but maybe more suited to a romantic meal.

We booked on the 25% off the dinner with Friends three course menu and this was excellent value. We had charming service and the food was great. Two carnivores and one vegetarian had plenty of choice from this menu - we were offered extra vegetarian options if the gnocchi on the menu was not wanted. And it was all delicious. All in all highly recommended.

Who would think that such good restaurants exist in Pinner as well. I was a bit sceptical, but was pleasantly surprised to find that the food and service was as good as it gets. A small cottagey kid of restaurant but a good chef and good service too. Good to go with friends and family as well.

We took the opportunity to book for their 3 course lunch special at just £15pp. The service and food was outstanding. We also enjoyed two glasses of wine (extra on the bill) . A very relaxed time. We booked on line and our request for a special diet order was handled with ease. Well done Friends

We were a group of 6 North-London friends out for dinner at Friends Restaurant. The evening measured up to a very good in-London restaurant experience, while the out-of-London location was a convenient and most pleasant change for us. Food was good, service cheerful and with a smile. Would go again.

We have eaten at Friends several times over the past 5 years and unfortunately this time our experience went from excellent to just good. The set menu is potentially interesting but our dishes were put together with flavours that just did not go together. Service was ok but our water glasses were not topped up all evening. For the price, popping next door might have been a better option!

This is a decent restaurant, nice staff and the food was fine. But we couldn't help thinking it was a bit overprice when comparing to central London restaurants with food of a similar quality. We probably will return for a special occasion and it's handy to have a unique little place like this in Pinner

Four of us dined here - we were looking for a 'posh restaurant'. Three of us had the haggis in whiskey sauce as a starter, this was delicious, but we all thought it was too heavy a dish for starters. For Mains, we had either the beef which was delicious , or the fish which was either bream or salmon. The salmon was very-over cooked - more like chicken round the edges. My bream was quite nice but nothing special to be honest. The evening did not get off to a good start, I had to send-back a bottle of Cotes du Rhone which had a definite sour taste. The wine waiter agreed with my assessment and the bottle was replaced without fuss. The service was good, but overall it was an expensive meal and not as good as we had expected.

I had been recommended this restaurant and after reading the positive write-ups here, we decided to give it a try. The restaurant walks the walk but doesn't talk the talk. In other words, the place looks great and the service is pleasant and attentive. The food comes up with excellent presentation. So far so good, our expectations seemed to be justified. But what a bitter disappointment to find that it was quite bland and tasteless to say the least. We were truly disappointed that the quality did not match the price, and I'm sorry to say we won't be going back.

A thoroughly enjoyable experience , yet again. Friends always seems to deliver in abundance and how nice in this day and age of restaurants trying to get the maximum out of you and to turn their tables that you can linger. You can also have a conversation with your fellow diners without hearing your neighbours. Very good choice for all 3 sections of the menu and a very pleasant Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon - not marked up ridiculously high. Overall an excellent experience and we will be back very soon. Service was very personable but service at times was a little amateurish- not bad in itself anyway.

If you're thinking about trying this restaurant out, I can only say 'go for it'. The food is very posh and very tasty, and there are some very creative options on the menu, such as haggis cakes with poached duck-egg - I don't usually like haggis but these were amazing. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the wines by the glass were excellent. (I didn't try the bottles.) Overall, it was a very pleasant evening and I will be going there again.

This is my favourite high street restaurant that easily outstrips the chain restaurants in the area. It's many awards for culinary excellence are well deserved. I trust the combinations of food for each course implicitly, as they have a knack of making all food taste great. There are dishes I would hesitate to try elsewhere, that have been incredible when I've tried them here. Friends seem to have a genuine taste for flavours that compliment each other, where one will never overpower the other; the balance is always spot on. Highly recommend. We will be going for as long as it exists.
