A word from Galvin at Windows
Located high up on the 28th floor of the London Hilton at 22 Park Lane, Galvin at Windows restaurant and bar has become one of the capital’s most talked-about destination dining venues since its opening in 2006. Head Chef Joo Won and Chef Patron Chris Galvin have created seasonally inspired menus based around modern French haute cuisine that have now earned the restaurant its first, much-deserved Michelin Star. Renowned for its peerless views over the capital, including iconic sites like Hyde Park and Buckingham Palace, Galvin at Windows is a restaurant where honest food and genuine hospitality are already a tradition after just a few short years. Because of the elegance of the room and the jaw-dropping 360-degree views, Galvin at Windows is certainly a destination restaurant with fine service and all the trimmings. But, clever Galvin staff, the set lunch menu and bar express menu bring this sublime French cuisine within reach.

Excellent service; accomplished cooking; terrific views - what's not to like about lunch here? Make sure you have a drink in the bar before lunch, or have your coffee there, the view from the bar of the south bank and the city is stunning.

You are paying for the outstanding view and location here. As with Galvin in Bishopsgate the service is very very good, the food is of a high quality but slightly variable from dish to dish. I would rate the filet average at best for this level of restaurant, and the Cep starter was disappointing in terms of taste. Overall though it is a great experience, with awesome views over London and good service. I would come again, perhaps for a romantic date.

Lovely views and excellent service in this London landmark hotel, and the food was not too bad either, although the starter was a tad odd, but quite tasty. Main course and pudding were both fine. Sometimes the staff are a bit too much into the hard sell, but all done with charm and panache!

We brought our 18 year old son, who was home from university, and our 16 year old daughter who had just had her birthday. I didn't realise the set menu was the only option for Sunday lunch but it was no problem as there were plenty of choices all of which sounded delicious, and the ones we selected definitely were. The service is excellent, the setting is great, and we had a really lovely time. We will definitely be back.

I took my mother out for our joint birthdays for Sunday lunch. Unfortunately I have to admit I was somewhat disappointed; we had a reasonable table but not a window table despite booking some weeks in advance and a table very close to us had a very loud toddler so it wasn't a peaceful lunch which is why I've marked down there. The starter of smoked salmon and horseradish was fairly unexciting, both visually and to taste. There was a long break before we received our main course and we had to chase it, the chicken when it arrived was very nice. Dessert was nice but not mind blowing. They had gone to the effort of enscribing happy birthday on our dessert plates which was a nice touch. Nice for an informal lunch but I wouldn't necessarily return.

If you get a side table then you dont experience the wow factor of the view. Narrow side seating you have the waiters rushing by all evening which doesn't make it very intimate. The food was good but ive had better for this level and price. Galvin La Chapelle was a much nicer experience overall.

We had a lovely lunch. The food, service and ambience were excellent. We were able to sit and have coffee for as long as we wanted to. The only drawback was that behind us was a coule with a very young child, who on a couple of occasions started screaming which was very annoying. It is ridiculous bringing a small child to a restaurant of that calibre and the restaurant should not have allowed it.

This was our first time at Galvin at Windows and it certainly won't be our last. Sunday lunch was very good with a good choice of options. We chose the roast pork which was very tasty and a good sized portion followed by desert - one mille feuille and the other was a profiterole type of dessert - both were outstanding. the staff were very professional and friendly and of course the views were great from the top of the Hilton in Park Lane. Next time we'lltry the restaurant in the evening..

We had dinner on a Friday evening. The food was excellent and nicely served. I had the Loch Fyne salmon followed by the cod and was really pleased to see decent portion sizes for both. The service was good too, attentive but without being too overbearing. What makes this restaurant really special iare the views across London, particularly as the sun sets and the city lights appear. Great place for a romantic dinner date. The only slight downside for us was a screaming child on a nearby table whose parents had no interest in doing anything about it despite the fact it was clearly disturbing other diners.

As ever a great time at Galvins, and once again the attentive and friendly staff totally made the evening perfect. We went there for our 3rd anniversary. We don't usually go to expensive restaurants ... service was long. We staid there for 3h30 in total which could have been nice for a week-end dinner but not necessarily in the middle of the week :) Staff dhave done their best to speed up the service but we came out still a bit fustrated. And we had to wait 30min for our table as it was not available (although we had booked it more than 1 month ago).

This restaurant was stunning. My friend is pregnant and they made sure we had a table which was out the way and made her comfortable. The food was gorgeous, we had an amuse bouche, then I had the ballotine of pork, followed by the exceptional plaice and we shared a dessert. Then we had PLATES of chocolates followed by marshmallows. I couldn't move! The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. I couldn't fault our night out and will be going back with my partner as soon as we can!

the special deals are great value for money but the food was a little disappointing and not in keeping with the standard of the setting and the service. The ballontine of chicken was lacking in flavour and imagination, my companions starter of mackeral (and its accompanied ingredients ) was underwhelming and seemed assembled rather than integrated but our main course of lamb was rich and delightful though the desserts were unexceptional There is an interesting range of wines by the glass which can tempt you into paying considerably more that the food but the enjoyment factor was high. The coffee and petits fours were excellent. The service was attentive, delivered by thoughtful, knowledgeable and well trained staff.

i had an average experience. Service in our case was average, did not get the right recommendation from the waiter. I had deer which was good but the side dish was poor at that standards. the menu very limited, one vegetarian, plus regular beef which i found it too basic. the prices in these circumstances are obviously too high.

Went for lunch with my husband on a day off. Opted for the set menu as there was plenty to choose from, food was interesting, original, and delicious. And the views are spectacular! As we ordered 2 glasses of wine each to go with our food, the drinks ended up costing just as much as our 3-course meal. Not cheap, but a great choice as a treat to yourselves, or for a special occasion.
