A word from Galvin at Windows
Located high up on the 28th floor of the London Hilton at 22 Park Lane, Galvin at Windows restaurant and bar has become one of the capital’s most talked-about destination dining venues since its opening in 2006. Head Chef Joo Won and Chef Patron Chris Galvin have created seasonally inspired menus based around modern French haute cuisine that have now earned the restaurant its first, much-deserved Michelin Star. Renowned for its peerless views over the capital, including iconic sites like Hyde Park and Buckingham Palace, Galvin at Windows is a restaurant where honest food and genuine hospitality are already a tradition after just a few short years. Because of the elegance of the room and the jaw-dropping 360-degree views, Galvin at Windows is certainly a destination restaurant with fine service and all the trimmings. But, clever Galvin staff, the set lunch menu and bar express menu bring this sublime French cuisine within reach.Continued

  • "Very good food, service exceptional and mind blowing views, a must visit restaurant if your looking to impress ...."

  • "Been there on my girlfriend birthday, the food was excellent and service was very attentive. I visited the restaurant many times and they never let me down. Still one of the best classic French restaurant in London."

  • "Great food and absolutely fantastic service with attention to detail which second to none."

  • "Galvins is certainly not cheap when you add wine and extras but the setting and the menu on offer were superb. Staff were excellent even if you were having an open table menu. We are already returning with friends. It was a special occasion and the staff soon realised and provided that extra special something that comes with the Galvin name. This is a place to go and the costs soon becomes irrelevant."

  • "My wife and I had dinner at Galvin at Windows for her birthday and we both really enjoyed the experience: venue is fab, view of London + sunset was amazing, food is brilliant and so flavorsome, service impeccable and small choc pud on a plate with Happy Birthday on it before the bill what a very nice touch indeed! And the wine was great too! Yes it is on the expensive side but one for great occasion."

  • "This is the best dining place for all occasions on the 28th floor overlooking Hyde Park and Buckingham Palace. It is strongly recommended."

  • "Celebrated my wife's 60th Birthday with the family at Gavin Excellent Sunday set lunch....Very professional / friendly service.......Brilliant views from the 28th floor......Highly recommended."
    dined on 17/08/2014
  • "Having heard good things, I was excited to go with my partner for Sunday lunch and was not disappointed! For starters, I had the Seared foie gras, whilst my partner had the ballotine rabbit and I have to say hand on heart, the seared foie gras was the best starter I have ever tasted - simple flavours but tasty. My Partners ballotine rabbit was an explosion of flavours and he was extremely impressed with it. We both had the Pan fried gilt-head sea bream for the main course and yet again the presentation without fault and taste was delicious. The service was fantastic and our waiter was somewhat of a comedian in the only way the French seem to be able to pull off. I would definitely recommend to others and will definitely be going again."

  • "Being big fans of seafood,we booked expecting a different a la carte menu based on the top table one and were disappointed to not have a sea bass dish on the menu prestige. There was confusion over whether the salmon starter was marinated in sake between our table host and waiter and the dish itself was better on the eyes than the stomach. My main of monkfish was overpowered completely by the strong tomato piperade and my wife's vegetable tart similarly had far too much Gorgonzola in. The main reason we had chosen this particular galvins was the expectation that the tarte tatin would be as it used to be in bistro de luxe on Baker Street (as we were told by the manager there). Sadly not - and so all 3 courses left us rather disappointed."

  • "I went to Galvin at Windows for my Dad's 60th birthday meal and I could not fault anything. We had a wonderful view even though it was just the two of us, the service was impeccable and our waitress so charming. The Degustation Menu was amazing and so innovative and it made an already special night even more memorable."
    dined on 16/08/2014
  • "Wow what an experience! The restaurant staff were the most tentative I have ever experienced, they honoured my request for a window seat with a view over London. We were made personalised cocktails and I was given a little brownie with 'happy birthday'. The food was fantastic too! But the only thing was- the courses had no 'wow' factor compared to other michelin star places we have visited."

  • "Went here with the wife for our wedding anniversary. Great food, amazing service. Would recommend."

  • "If you appreciate fine food, it's a special occasion, and you don't mind putting your hand in your pocket, then this place comes highly recommended. The food is of an excellent calibre, and though you can expect to pay a lot of money for the pleasure, the sort of cuisine presented, is beyond what most of us could dream of creating. For me, the raw scallops, lamb bolognese and home-made marshmallows were a particular treat, though all the dishes were outstanding. The service was also attentive without being overly-fussy, and the restaurant retained a non-pretentious air, which was most pleasing."
    dined on 15/08/2014
  • "Needless to say, food was excellent as expected under the helm of the Galvin brothers. However despite receiving a warm & friendly welcome at reception and good service by our charming waitresses, the maître de that was in charge of taking our food order was quite curt and grumpy, in fact quite condescending - unless he was having a hard day, he really needs to learn how to be polite. As we were celebrating my birthday, his manner made for an unhappy end to the evening."

  • "We were celebrating my friends recent marriage so wanted to choose somewhere special. Having recently been to Galvin at Windows I decided to repeat the experience having been impressed the last time I visited there; they did not disappoint. We had one of the best tables in the restaurant with stunning views. The menu had changed and whilst not the biggest menu in the world it is perfectly balanced with enough choice and some interesting options. The service was excellent with the staff being unobtrusive but always on hand and willing to answer any questions. The evening was exactly what we had hoped it would be. Our friends felt very special and left saying that the meal at Galvin at Windows was the best meal they had ever experienced."

  • "Took my partner here for his birthday lunch, we were both extremely happy with our food and the service was brilliant all the staff were very attentive! We had the 3 courses for £30 and a Bellini and felt this was a great deal! Lovely views overlooking the whole of London, overall a fantastic experience!"
    dined on 15/08/2014
  • "Exceptionally good service food quality and could not fault any aspect of the meal. The food quality and presentation was second to none but the team work from of all staff was by far the best I have ever seen and I have eaten in the best of the best but this is another level up."
    dined on 15/08/2014
  • "Have just enjoyed another superb dinner — and the evening view across London. They combine for a memorable experience. Very interested and helpful staff. Perhaps a tad too expensive."

  • "Windows at the Hilton on Hyde Park Lane, despite its age, retains its special quality as a destination in London with stunning views. That one can enjoy that with a good meal or drink in the bar makes it even better."
    dined on 14/08/2014
  • "Had a great time!!! It was a late booking for my birthday but they managed to find me a window table. Service and food was without question excellent. The birthday cake at the end was a nice touch!"

  • "I booked this restaurant based on reviews and although we had a lovely experience, I would think twice about going again. We took 2 children, and were pleased to see kids menu complete with little party bags. My husband and I chose 3 course 39 pound set menu. Our starters and children's food arrived and my son's beef fillet was minuscule. Unfortunately the theme of small portions in the "nouvelle cuisine" tradition was our experience. There were lovely touches such as a melon soup as an amuse Bouche and a little gateau presented with words "happy birthday" on the plate aswell as a trip to the kitchen for the children to select their icecreams. But, my husband and I were decidedly hungry after the meal even after the cheese plate!"

  • "This was the second time at Galvins for lunch and I wasn't disappointed. The food was fantastic, the service was attentive but not over-bearing and the personal touches made it a wonderful birthday treat for my friend. The post card (posted with compliments) is a lovely idea - and good marketing for a restaurant with such fabulous views. We had the £50 set lunch with half a bottle of wine, coffee and water and thought it was great value. I mustn't forget to mention the chocolates we were given at the end if the meal (and some extra to take home). They were to die for!"

  • "Galvin at Windows is a special place for all occasions. On the 28th floor it has some of the best views over the whole of London, that alongside the excellent service from the staff and food to die for is a must eating place for anyone."
    dined on 12/08/2014
  • "The food at Galvin at Windows was sublime. Everything was perfect. The atmosphere is quite traditional with muted colours, personally I prefer something more striking however it was a nice atmosphere. We booked far in advance but wern't given the best view, although we were seated by a window so no complaints."
    dined on 11/08/2014
  • "Food was exceptional and the service very efficient and friendly. We didn't feel like cheapskates for ordering the £25 wine. It was very good !"

  • "Had an amazing lunch at the Galvin with beautiful views of London . The service and good was outstanding . It was my birthday and they also brought me a complimentary small cake which was very thoughtful. The set lunch menu was very good value had the gazpacho for starters and sea bream for main. Would definitely come again and recommend highly ."

  • "We booked a table at 9pm on Saturday evening, we were greeted and seated by polite efficient staff. The food was excellent, the ambience was very good, overall a very special evening."

  • "As a special occasion we had the degustation menu with wine and it was fantastic, great food with wine that matched to perfection. We were slightly disappointed with the bar which seemed noisy and uncomfortable but the main room was spacious with views all around. Service was good, and it was nice to have the dishes explained. Definitely worth it if you want to splash out once. In a while"
    dined on 09/08/2014
  • "I took my partner to the restaurant as a birthday treat. We had a couple of drinks in the bar to begin with which I could not fault in any way. We were seated in the raised area in the middle of the dining room which left us with a pretty non existent view. The service was on the frosty side, a simple enquiry about the menu was almost met with a touch of sarcasm. We had high hopes for the food considering the high prices and were left seriously disappointed. On our main course, the mushroom dish that came with the beef (supplement on top), was so salty that we both found it inedible. Overall, the whole experience was not worth the money. Drinks in the bar fine, dinner go elsewhere."
    dined on 09/08/2014
  • "Good food and attentive service. The views are spectacular. But is it worth the price - I'm not sure."

  • "I took my wife to Galvin at windows for our first year anniversary at the weekend. The service was excellent, the views are amazing and we had a very enjoyable evening. My wife is vegetarian, there were two vegetarian starters so we ordered both to try them and i had the scallop ceviche. All threee courses were really delicious. Unfortunately there was only one vegetarian main course, summer vegetable tart; but it was also very good. I had the trout dish which was tasty, and well cooked but not amazing. The highlight of the meal were the desserts we had the peach souffle and the strawberries with ricotta mousse and black pepper ice cream, both of which were perfect; the best desserts we have had in a long time."
    dined on 09/08/2014
  • "Ambience, service, & food we're all exceptional. One thing in particular, was the attention to every detail. We celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary at Galvin at Windows. "Outstanding""
    dined on 09/08/2014
  • "The service was fantastic throughout our meal. Very informative and attentive with good manners. The food was good, and what you would expect of a Michelin starred restaurant. The view is okay, but not spectacular, however you do get a really good view over Hyde Park. I would recommend giving it a try for a special occasion."
    dined on 06/08/2014
  • "Wonderful location. Excellent food and wine and attentive and friendly service. The strawberry dessert was stunning. Best I've ever tasted."

  • "Wednesday Lunch to celebrate a birthday. My comments are simple and honest, the whole expereince from the restaurant setting to every member of staff we met to every mouthful of a well chosen choice for each of the three courses was lovely, tasty, good humoured and totally enjoyable!"
    dined on 06/08/2014
  • "GaW delivers great environment, food and discrete services. We had toptable/opentable offer and value for money was there for a 5* restaurant. Bar was lovely. Cocktails were yummy. Thanks GaW for lovely night out."

  • "We already knew/like Galvin La Chapelle, and we were not disappointed with Windows/Galvin in the Hilton. Great window table as requested. We chose the Summer prix fixe at £30, a tasty balanced three-course lunch. Service warm and efficient. Highly recommended if you are treating visitors to London, as we were."
    dined on 05/08/2014
  • "We had the £30 offer lunch. The food was very interesting and beautifully presented. It was very easy to rack up extra costs and to end up with a pretty high bill at the end despite the offer! The view from there on the clear day we had was spectacular so make sure you ask for a seat by the window."
