Although the steak was cooked exactly as requested, which was the reason for booking Gaucho, and the staff evidently keen to please, my overall impression was one of slight disappointment. The entrance was not clearly indicated, we entered via an outside terrace from adjoining restaurants. A friendly welcome and prompt attention most pleasant but the lighting level was too low and the music slightly too loud. Once seated it was immediately apparent that the table was too small for four people and the balcony shelf adjacent would be employed as additional resource. Our waiter appeared immediately and offered the wine list which had a poor selection for the more budget minded (less than £ 30 per bottle), additionally he had just returned from having been smoking, as his breath clearly demonstrated. The rib eye was cooked exactly as ordered and extremely good, desert menu not as comprehensive as expected. Overall impression was that the service provided did not do justice to the excellent menu provided.

My firends and I enjoyed a lovely evening at Gaucho. The service was great and the food delish! Gaucho's menu is a little more pricey than I would usually choose for a Friday night catch up but there were very reasonable options on the menu and it's certainly somehwre I would return to for a more special occassion.

The whole occasion was a great success. The atmosphere was very comfortable. The environment very presentable. The staff were very attentive and informative. They explained the menus and the wine menu in great detail. The food was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant for business or social occasions.

I went to Goucho Canary to celebrate a 1st anniversary, and I was not disappointed. I don't remember ever saying that a meal was perfect, but I couldn't fault anything with this meal. The staff were friendly and receiving, the food was delicious and cooked to perfection, and the overall experience was excellent. Although it wasn't the cheapest of meals, I feel that the price point perfectly matched the quality of the food and service. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to the wealthy of to anyone else for a special occasion.

I have been to gaucho Canary wharf before and had an exceptional service which is why I chose this location again however our waiter on this occasion made the experience unsatisfactory. My guests enjoyed their meal and the atmosphere was great so it was disappointing to have one individual make our experience poor with her sour face and abrupt manor.

First time diners at Gaucho We had to ask for the drinks menu. We ordered the sausage platter with a mixture of 4 sausages to start- we received 5 sausages, they were not the sausages we had ordered and the waitor did not identify which sausages he brought us therefore we had no idea what we were eating. We ordered the selection of truffles for dessert- when the waitor brought this over, again he did not explain which truffle was which so we did not know what we were eating. Other than this the food and service was great but for our first experience at such a well reputed restaurant we were hoping for better.

Our booking for 8 people at lunchtime must have raised expectations of them making a fortune in drinks sales - they went into overdrive offering wine list, aperitifs, etc. When we (reasonably enough in my view since this was just lunch and we all had work to do afterwards) just ordered water the staff went into a bit of a frenzy trying to get us to drink as much as possible (they managed to get 9 large bottles into us). The food order was mostly correct, though one of us was given some random steak he hadn't asked for. And (their) selection of side dishes wasn't really adequate. Just to top it off they managed to add a £12.95 fish dish to our bill that no-one had ordered or eaten. Shame as this used to be a decent restaurant. We wont return

The gaucho restaurant was well positioned, welcoming and comfortable. The main steaks are not the cheapest (the most expensive was £148 for just the steak), but what you are getting is a truly memorable experience with what will likely be the best steak you will ever have. If you are a steak liver you must try it at least once.

Gaucho was fabulous. Absolutely great service. Every member of staff greeted as we walked past. Glasses were never empty. When making the booking online- i left a note saying it was a birthday dinner and we needed to be out the restuarants 9.45- this was what happened. My boyfriend even got a lil birthday treat (chocolate with a candle) at the end- unexpected.

This was our 2nd visit to Gaucho Canary and I have to say the surroundings did not suit me this time I find it too dark and the music too pumping like a nightclub, there was nothing hinting at Argentina. It was appealing to the younger, clientele I guess although I am not old. Food was good though. Not excellent. Pepper sauce on the steak was far too salty and cloying.

I booked this restaurant for a catch up dinner with two girlfriends who I hadn't seen in ages and the venue was perfect. Great atmosphere although could still hear each other speak which was welcomed! We happened to be dining during chocolate week which meant a selection of delicious specials :) our chocolate pudding fondant was amazing and I ate the little boxes of chocolate with my lunch the next day!

Had read some mixed reviews, so was a little concerned. I shouldn't have worried. The service was excellent, our waitress was so helpful. The food was very good, all our steaks were cooked as we asked for them to be, side dishes were lovely. The wines were expensive, but also very nice! The atmosphere was very buzzy and everyone seemed to be having a good time. I had requested a table overlooking the river, and this is what we got, great views of the river just added to the whole experience. Would definitely recommend.

We went to the restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. It was a Wednesday night, still busy, great atmosphere. We got a table with a very nice river view, as we booked. Service was amazing, our waiter was friendly and also profassional. We were well informed all about the menu, he even took all the raw steaks to show us. Food was so tasty, we loved all. All meat are really high quality. My malbec what I got to my main course was phenomenal. 5 stars all over!!!

Unfortunately we were late for our arranged booking, but Gauchos were very accomodating and found us a nice table despite our lateness. The service then became very rushed and from the start we were bombarded with 3 or 4 menus, bread coming to the table and the choice of steaks held under our nose. It all felt rather pushy and rushed. The food arrived very quickly and although was very tasty and cooked to our liking, it didn't seem to have the panash you would expect from a restaurant with such cudos. We had previous eaten in the Regent St. Gauchos which was perfect in comparisson.

Had dinner on a Friday night here. Service was good, yet felt a bit fake and plastic. Had my steak mixed up with my boyfriends. Also friend not asked if she wanted ice and a slice in her drink. When paying over £200 for a meal for 3, these are the little things you expect to be done correctly. Food in very tasty, but can eat better for less in Canary Wharf

Had the chateaubriand which was good quality although we both felt a little too salty. I go to gaucho from time to time whenever I want a good steak, although am always surprised at how expensive it is. The ambience is good but too dark to be able to read a menu. Have to use the light on my phone, as did other diners. Overall, no serous criticisms. But not wowed either

Went to this restaurant on a saturday evening to give it a try. The food is ok, but my Wife's Fillet Steak was quite tough, which seriously should not be the case with a good fillet. We were also seated right in front of the wine racks and next to the till (about 2 feet away) so you can imagine that our meal was disturbed quite a bit by waiters trying to get wine and also by waiters loitering around the till having a chat. The ambience was more like a nightclub or trendy wine bar that served food as the music was very loud and clubby. I doubt I would return to this specific reataurant but I might give a different branch a try to see if it is any better.

When little ones come along and eating out alone as a couple again becomes a real luxury, then you want a place that's going to make the experience worthwhile. Gaucho's Canary did that for us. Great attentive service, good food. Pricey, so not somewhere I'd go often but an overall pleasant experience. My only other comment would be that it was a little noisy.

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening at the Gaucho Canary Wharf. Onarrival we were offered an inside or outsdie table & pre-meal drinks on one of their comfortable sofas. At no time did we feel rushed or under preossure to vacate our table. The staff were fantastic and remebered from our booking notes my wife was Gulten intolerant, to the point the waitress had discussed with the chef a particular menu she could have. Complimentry river clipper tickets were a lovely suprises and finished off our evening perfectly.
