Diner Reviews
  • "What a fantastic experience The food was superb but what really made it was the staff team. Made us feel really special. This is a fantastic treat and will go again."

  • "Went to Gaucho for a celebratory meal. We were not disappointed. Not suitable for vegetarians though. One of our party was a veggie, although the pasta meal she had was fantastic, showing raw meat at the table and cow hides on the seats and walls made her quite uncomfortable. The food was great. No complaints. However, the wines are very pricey. We had drank lots of champagne prior to our visit so did not want any more alcohol, but you are only offered wine. When we asked we were told "off menu" we could have lemonade or coke £3.25 a glass, juice or tap water. No starters, just main meals and deserts, no alcohol and the bill was £210 for 5 people."

  • "Fabulous food as always at Gaucho. I had not been to the O2 Gaucho previously but it certainly met my expectations. Fantastic atmosphere, lively but not too loud and steaks to die for. The young waiter we had was attentive but not in your face and made sure our bill came in time so we were not late for the show - well done Gaucho!"

  • "we found the piped music didn't reflect the age of the diners."

  • "I have eaten at Goucho's on many an occasion but found that on this one the plates were cold and the quality of the size orders were poor. It has not put me off returning as the meat was amazing and the cocktails very good."
    dined on 19/07/2014
  • "Booking at 1800 for a show starting at 1930 meant the meal was fraught. We were not seated until nearly 1825 which meant no time for starter or bottle of wine. When it came to paying the drinks we had in the bar were not included and, being honest, once this was pointed out the bill disappeared again so that by the time we left it was 1925 for a show that we knew started promptly at 1930"
    dined on 19/07/2014
  • "unfortunately it was very busy when we visited and we were unlucky to be seated outside on the balcony. It was also very hot and there is no air conditioning outside. Due to how busy it was service was very slow, it took 20m to get a bottle of water. The food was great but it was disappointing to be paying a premium for the amazing ambiance of Gaucho but sitting on a plain area outside around the corner from all the action. We should at least have been offered our water for free due to the heat."
    dined on 19/07/2014
  • "Welcome a mess; getting to table delayed; room so dark you can't see the menu; water quick; no bread until after the appetisers; wine took 35 minutes to come; main course came but no cutlery and stuck thumb in sauce while slightly dropping it and said 'phew nearly dropped that'; manager called over asked for cutlery which they got, but no apology just a 'nothing we can do we are very busy' - our section was not full; left no tip for first time in about 12 years."

  • "This restuarant did not fail impress. Had not been there before but love steak so was hoping for the best based on some other good reviews I had seen. We had an amazing meal with great staff. Will definately go back."
    dined on 19/07/2014
  • "We decided to have a late lunch before a show and had heard that Gaucho was a decent place. We loved it. Friendly and efficient staff, really good food at what we considered to be excellent value for London and a formal but relaxed atmosphere. We eat out a lot and if you are looking for some very nice food, a good wine list and a belter of a cocktail then try Gaucho. We think it's ace, you might too."
    dined on 19/07/2014
  • "Fillet steak was devine, melt in your mouth. Just a shame of the couple next to us talking rather loudly which was annoying - perhaps a bit more space between the tables."
    dined on 18/07/2014
  • "Food was outstanding along with a fantastic service. The restaurant was lovely, however did find it to be rather noisy, but this was probably to do with the time we ate, pre show at the O2. Also found the tables to be on top of each other, felt diners were packed in, which made it difficult to have a decent conversation on top of the noise! The restaurant is fantastically located for events at the O2 ,but you do need to book! Defiantly would recommend."
    dined on 18/07/2014
  • "Visited O2 restaurant before Monty Python on 18 July - over cooked prawns, tasteless salad accompanying the prawns, burnt chips and sweet potatoes and cocktail poured over me. Obviously unable to cope with pre show dinner, despite bringing in additional staff from other restaurants."
    dined on 18/07/2014
  • "Whilst the food was good, our whole experience was affected by the excessively loud background music. I flagged this up with the manager, who came over and said she would turn down, but she did not turn it down, it remained the same level. I would rather she have said that she was unable to turn it down due to gaucho company policy than lying to us. Very disappointing as we couldn't hear ourselves talk. The food was good."
    dined on 18/07/2014
  • "Excellent steak. Would like more starter options great meal and attentive service"
    dined on 18/07/2014
  • "Third time at Gauchos, second time at this one (O2) and all three meals were excellent. Good steak, good wine (extensive choice, even if all Argentinian, with good advice) and service to match. Not one to rush, even pre-show. We left two hours for dinner, before Monty Python and that was just right. Bit pricy but you do tend to get what you pay for..."
    dined on 18/07/2014
  • "Well known for their steaks, unsurprisingly Gaucho does not disappoint. Staff we're very friendly and attentive, without being invasive. Good dining experience."
    dined on 18/07/2014
  • "The steak here is truly excellent, and the prices for the food are not unreasonable for the quality. The side dishes are very good, well cooked and prepared. The overall dining experience is very pleasant, though certainly not romantic or cosy (neither of which we wanted, but some people might). The service was attentive and efficient. My only real quibble is the cost of drinks - both wine and beer - which I would suggest is about 50% more than I would expect in this level of restaurant."
    dined on 16/07/2014
  • "Excellent service and good choice of food on menu. Steak is excellent and highly recommend. For us best restaurant in 02 arena."
    dined on 15/07/2014
  • "Machine like process. Mistakes in taking orders and delivering food. Crammed and very busy pre theatre..."
    dined on 15/07/2014
  • "Good good , proper meet, proper chimichurri! Good stuff!"
    dined on 14/07/2014
  • "I been to many Gaucho before, but was very disappointed with the O2 one. There was not enough waiters so no service at all. Very dark, and very loud music ."
    dined on 12/07/2014
  • "We ate here before a show because it was the only place we could book. It was a bit more expensive than I would normally choose but it was worth it for the booking. I had read earlier review about it being dark with loud music so I asked for a quiet table. We were directed to the balcony area and so glad because the main restaurant area would have been intolerable on noise levels and lighting, especially as I was with my elderly mother. But the food was lovely, the steak perfectly cooked, sweet potato chips delicious and a good glass of wine. Service was attentive without being intrusive and we never felt rushed (unlike other restaurants I have been to at the 02). I would go back again but specifically ask for the balcony."
    dined on 12/07/2014
  • "We always eat a Gaucho before a show at the 02 and this table was booked over 9 months ago so I was really disappointed to be given a table right by the kitchen. When we asked to be moved we were told to sit down as there were no other tables and then eventually we were moved but the staff were quite stroppy. It did put me off going there again."
    dined on 11/07/2014
  • "Had a meal before Robbie Williams, lovely decor, probably not to everyone's taste, all animal skins black and chrome but i loved it. It was so dark inside! I could barely read the menu! Our waitress was very nice and very informative , at one point she brought steak on a block round for us to see and choose but my husband declined! We only had time for a main, i had the burger and my husband had rump, both were delicious. Vodka and coke came as a double, if you want a single you have to ask i think. The bill came to £52 which i thought was fairly expensive but i would come back to try the desserts. Overall a nice experience."
    dined on 11/07/2014
  • "Amazing decor, excellent service from Erwan meant we enjoyed a perfect meal served in quick time! Definitely be back - thank you xx"
    dined on 09/07/2014
  • "Gaucho at the 02 is a well oiled machine, making sure everyone is served and out for the show. Always good food, and we had a friendly waiter. Also we sat out on the balcony rather than in the (too) dark interior which was preferable."
    dined on 09/07/2014
  • "As always the food was good and service also although rather hard to get bill at the end as it had gotten busy. On the plus side they fitted us in before our reserved time."
    dined on 09/07/2014
  • "Our table booked at 6.45 at the O2 venue wasn't ready until 7.20, so we had 40 minutes until curtain up, the service was slow and my companion's steak - their speciality, was so tough it could not be cut with a knife, so had to be chaged. The manager was good, the staff, all seemed to be eastern european and had trouble understanding and were slow. I would give this place a miss. £170 for 3 for one course with 2 glasses of wine is a lot."
    dined on 08/07/2014
  • "fabulous food and service, wedding annversary celebraton meal and was perfect.dessert was amazing."
    dined on 06/07/2014
  • "Happy with the service. Forgot my phone and charger and only remembered when I got home at Kent. I called and they offered to bring it to my office in Central london. That's what I call good service. Overall food was good. Been to gaucho in the city and the service is the same in all gauchos. When u have been to one, u have literally been to all. Nothing to complain about. I love the ambience but the toilet was soo dark. Good experience."
    dined on 06/07/2014
  • "It's Gaucho, so you know what you're going to get. High quality Argentinian beef and red wine, in a pretty cool (albeit dark) environment. Gaucho didn't dissappoint, though we did have to wait more than 30 mins in the bar before our table was ready (admittedly, we were c10 mins late). Very flavoursome steak, and the Argentinan sides are always a pleasant change from more normal restaurant fare. It's not Hawksmoor or Goodmans, but it's priced significantly below those two, and the quality of the steak is not significantly below..."
    dined on 05/07/2014
  • "Good steak, well cooked, nice sides. Good service (until they forgot our puddings & we had to leave for a show without eating them - an error verging on criminal in my wifes view). Claimed it was a 'system error'. probably true, service was very good up until that point. Nice wine list. All Argentinian, but good choice (even if you don't like malbec). Nothing for less than £35. initially sat under VERY LOUD speaker, but were moved upon request. Overall good experience wrt food. Service let down at the last minute. Bill was over £220 for 3 (2 courses with few drinks). Not sure that amounts to 'great' value. But we'd looked at the menu beforehand, so it wasn't a surprise."
    dined on 05/07/2014
  • "Unless you are one of those annoying reviewers that mark places down as 1 star "because we didn't get knife on arrival", I would find it hard to believe that anyone would rate this restaurant less than a high number of stars. From the reception at the door, all the way up to us leaving, the staff were extremely polite, happy, and on the ball. Always a pleasure to dine here, and due to it being in the O2 you get asked if you are seeing the show (they will ensure you get fed and watered with time to spare - so long as YOU give them time to..!). Would highly recommend, and would not think of another venue to go to when we ever visit the O2. Not for vegetarians... Naturally"
    dined on 05/07/2014
  • "When the O2 has a big gig (in this case Python), Gaucho fills every space it can to maximise its profits. The result is chaos. Not enough staff, space, furniture (really!) or coordination. Even in a quiet day, Gaucho can't justify its prices, but when it stuffed full, its dire."
    dined on 05/07/2014
  • "Simply delicious meat, attentive staff but a might expensive"
    dined on 05/07/2014
  • "Usual Gaucho good standard with great choice of steaks, but relatively expensive, especially the wines. However at the O2 there is little competition and very limited choice for better quality dining."
    dined on 05/07/2014
  • "We ate in a little back room which unfortunately didn't have the same atmosphere as the main dining room. The food was excellent although drinks and coffee took a little time to arrive. Yes, I would eat here again."
    dined on 04/07/2014
  • "Gaucho restaurants all deliver a great dining experience. The choice of steaks is excellent and very well presented being shown on a board and explained. We usually chose two different ones and split them between us so we can compare the different cuts. A great wine list, especially Malbecs which is of course a must."
    dined on 04/07/2014
  • "Burger was overcooked and not very flavoursome. Fries came as a mixture of sweet potato and normal however, these too were overcooked. Expensive for what it was. Service was attentive though."
