A word from Gaucho Piccadilly
Tucked away in a little known side street off Piccadilly this Gaucho Restaurant provides a bit of the Pampas and Buenos Aires relocated to the heart of the West End. As you soon as you enter the restaurant the aroma of meat sizzling on the open grills hits you. As well as steak we do offer a selection of other dishes including fish, chicken, ceviche and vegetarian options.

At Gaucho we pride ourselves on the basic philosophy of provenance. To us this means authenticity, assurance and rigorous attention to obtain the finest quality ingredients at source. This dedication ensures that every time you visit us, you experience the true essence of Argentine cuisine. Its food, its wine, its culture and importantly the passion of its people.

Decked out in cowhide, mirrors and chandeliers we offer a full range of Argentine cuts of luxury beef, including the tender Bife de Lomo, aged for six to eight weeks and then flown in from Buenos Aires.

The whole experience was quite disappointing. Came highly recommend from by business partner how ever service and food was average to poor. Was seated by kitchen entrance. Servers not very attentive had to constantly ask for water glasses to be refilled. My steak first came out well done. Requested medium then second one came almost rare. We left immediately after main course and went elsewhere for desert. Very disappointing and unacceptable service.

I have been to Gaucho for several times, this was mine first at Piccadilly. The food is amazingly delicious, excellent level of service provided by team of professionals. I would strongly recommend the place for everyone who likes meat! On suggestion - make sure to book your table in advance.

Great food, great atmosphere, didn't seem at all fussed about us running 10 minutes late (even though they must have had another cover coming in after us). Can thoroughly recommend the baked sweet potato and the crab starter (as well as the steak obviously). Music a little bit loud perhaps but otherwise a fantastic meal.

Food is generally good here - I've been here many times. It is getting darker and darker each time I go which is a bit odd. I needed to use the light on my phone to read the menu. Prices are a tad high in my opinion. Three of us with main course only and no wine spent £160! I am not sure why they think it's worth that. I think that just priced me out of going back.

We were disappointed. We had been to the Tower Hill branch and we're very happy but the Picadilly branch did not measure up. Service was slow, our meat arrived overcooked (we got that replaced quickly but still). Not good value for money unfortunatell. It seems they cannot handle 4 floors of restaurant..

After reading a few mixed reviews I was a bit apprehensive about eating at Gaucho due to recent bad service reviews however they couldn't be more wrong. I visited the restaurant with a few of my friends for my birthday. They service was faultless, attentive and friendly! They truly made my birthday one to remember. The steak doesn't really need much more said than melt in mouth...AWESOME

This was a birthday surprise, and a real let down and disappointment. Service was poor, waiter was rather arrogant and just seemed to address us as another tourist, woth no care or attention that you woudl expect. Meat board was waffled through at 100 mph, and clearly he would much prefer to be doing something else! Felt a total waste of money and a dampner on our evening, which up till this point, had been great. Drinks were not ordered until food was ordered and arrived with starter. After visiting the City chain numerous of times, where the service is great, it was an eye opener, for how wrong it could go and little attention to detail. Ha snow put me off visiting any of the chains, as it feels a total waste of money, arrogant staff and food that i could have produced better at home. Medium rare is just that, not medium/well done. Would have expected more from a steak restaurant.

We knew this would be an evening to try our patience when it took 20 mins to get our first drink. In summary, the steaks were good but the service was appalling. It was a case of style over substance - elaborate descriptions of the steak which we couldn't hear because the music was so loud and the waitress spoke in a robotic fashion as if it was the 100th time she'd had to explain the different cuts. She seemed determined to steer us towards the most expensive cut and we found ourselves having to repeat the order more than 3 times before she got it right. Getting a jug of tap water for the table proved impossible - we had to rely on infrequent top-ups from a small carafe - and when we ordered the cheese board we were informed they had run out. In the end, we decided our evening had been like a night at Fawlty Towers - without the fun. Pity as the Hampstead and Charlotte Street branches were good. Would never go back or recommend

I have been to Gaucho at Canary Wharf and London Bridge. They weren't bad but it's just not as good as I expected. This time, I went to Gaucho Piccadilly with no expectation and it was surprisingly good. Service was good as always. The steak was almost as perfect as those you can normally get at Hawksmoor but cheaper. If this is their usual standard, I would definitely go back there again.

We went here for my partners birthday and it was fantastic! We booked a table for 9:15pm and were a few minutes late but our table was ready for us to sit down straight away. The service was perfect, we were acknowledged from the moment we walked in and were walked down to our table. The waitress was very good, she knew everything about the menu and drinks. The atmosphere was great, the food was amazing, so delicious. Never had a steak like it! They also gave us a free glass of wine and a dessert as it was my boyfriend's birthday. Perfect for a special occassion, we would definitely return. It is very pricey but we didn't mind paying as it was a one off!

The waiter was appalling at the end of the meal he insisted the service charge was added separately to the credit card bill and was tying to work out why we hadn't put 10% on for him ( we had put 15%!) he was arguing with us in front of everyone that you haven't put 10% on the bill for me!! We complained to the manager on the way out about the waiters attitude (it's not our fault he can't tell the difference between 10% & 15%!) but nothing was done - overall a very embarrassing end to a meal with poor service

Our initial table was too close to the kitchen, making it very warm to sit there, but they moved us to a more comfortable location. Our menus were slow arriving, but not annoyingly late! The steak and wine was great, even my American friend commented on the great steak. The meal was spoiled by the next table being cleaned using some cleaning spray, which wafted over to our table...luckily we were 75% through our meal, so the 'bleachy' smell made a small dent in our meal.

Went with a party of 10, the food was mostly of the great standard we've come to expect from Goucho. The slight exception being that my steak was over-done. Now, I'm not one to complain, but if I'm paying £60 for a steak, I expect it to be cooked as requested. I asked the server if she thought it was medium-rare, she cut it through the middle and agreed it was in fact medium, so she offered to take it back and replace it within 5 minutes. It took around 15-20 minutes for my steak to come back, and this time they gave me a rare, which I was much happier with, but it still wasn't medium-rare. The manager came over and instead of apologising for my wait, he said "I'm not saying you're wrong, but...". No good can come of a sentence like that.

Hi we recently visited the restaurant after it was highly recommended to us, and we were celebrating a birthday and theater weekend. Upon arrival, the system was down and they couldn't clarify the table, we then were usherd to the top floor. We ordered drinks and eventually main meals. 3 meals arrived, the 4th didnt with some excuse that the steak was cooked wrong and it would be 3 minutes further. After 10 more minutes we had to complain, at this point the meal and occasion had been ruined. When my steak did arrive it wasnt the best, plus the cost of £32 plus extras was something to be desired., not. Anyway after getting the bill, and asking the manager to remove costs we hadn't even had, we paid and left. Not a great experience

Having dined at the Leeds branch my husband and I had high expectations for the London base. How disappointed we were. From the unwelcoming greeting at the door, to a seat where I was blinded by the spotlight, our drinks order was not taken until we were ready to order which resulted in us eating our starters while drinking the aperitifs, which arrived twice as there was some sort of communication break down. I had the scallop starter, which was cold and had been held on an angle en route so the sauce was spilt and the scallops on their side. I had the trio of medallions which I asked for medium, they arrived well done, without the chips I asked for. The bill was exactly what we paid at Leeds, but unfortunately I felt ripped off here.

The food was excellent although very over priced however the thing that stood out was the service. Our starters arrived quickly which was fine but half way through our bread was brought to the table. We finished our starters and began on the bread however half way through that (bearing in mind it was only two pieces each) our bread plates were whisked away and our main courses brought out. We asked for a couple more minutes but were rudely told there was not enough room. We sat down at 6pm so it wasn't busy. From start to finish our meal took 40 mins! Despite the rush to get us through the meal it took 20 mins for them to take payment and even then we'd had to ask them. We definitely will not be going back

this is the third Gauchos in the London area I've dined at - all three have very indiividual atmospheres. All three have excellent food served. This Gauchos leans more towards dressing up and being out on the town as opposed to the Richmond Gauchos which is more laid back. Great to have a mood choice knowing the meal will always be excellent.

Gaucho was recommended to me by a good friend so decided to take my parents there for my dad's birthday. I was a bit dubious before hand as I had emailed them twice asking if they could arrange something special for my dad. No one contacted me. Very disappointing. There seemed to be staff everywhere talking very abruptly at each other, none seemed to take pride in their service. The waiter that initially served us was very nice but we didn't see him again and were served by an army of people dressed in black wearing ear piece very secret service. The steak was great as was the wine but over priced even for London. Don't mind paying top end prices if you get the service to match. It was just all so impersonal. Wish I had gone to Hawksmoor!

My wife and I dined here for our 4th Wedding Anniversary on Friday 24th Oct.. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant the staff were exemplary. Doors were opened before we entered, chairs pulled back and an in-depth explanation of the meats/foods on offer. The food really is out of this world and I doubt you'll be able to find a better steak house in London. The meat is tasty, tender and thick - everything you want from a steak. The side dishes are also extremely tasty and match the steak dishes perfectly. My wife and I will be going back to this place time and again
