  • "Large variety of meat to choose from and it is delicious, would highly recommend this particular Gaucho especially on a warm sunny day so you can sit outside and watch the boats head up and down the river."

  • "my second visit here very impressed. the service is superb, the food delicious. lovely wine. the set menu is good value although the wine is a bit on the pricey side. delicious bread basket. would not hesitate to recommend it highly. we were looked after very very well. the location is lovely right on the river thames. thank you"

  • "A fantastic evening to celebrate my 50th birthday. Gaucho's reputation is exceptional and they did not disappoint. All I will say is that I found it strange that skirt was included as a grillable cut of beef (I thought you braised it) and found it a little chewy. Nice touch with the dessert (wrote "Happy Birthday" in chocolate sauce on the serving plate) which rounded things off perfectly. Not cheap, but nice for special occassions."

  • "Went for a after work leaving party of 4. So happy that it was on work expenses as this place is as overpriced as it gets. Don't bother with starters as the portions are small and food was boring and bland as well as expensive. If you must visit a Gaucho in any of it's locations then just order the steak. The steak is good the only redeeming factor about the restaurant chain. The staff are friendly and beautiful and most of all very knowledgable about the menus and wine lists- The décor is cold uninviting and dark, pretty much black everywhere with white leather chairs so ugly and hard to see anything in such a warm location by the river, low lighting and club like dance music doesn't help either. Conclusion: AVOID"

  • "It was a lovely meal for our wedding anniversary. The service was excellent. There was nothing the waitress could not do for us. It was very personal as they had decorated our dessert plate with 'happy anniversary' this was very special. A complimentary drink was offered also. Will be going back again very soon. Thank you gaucho Richmond."

  • "You wont find a better steak in London. The staff are very good, clearly well trained. The meal is not rushed, and the atmosphere is great."

  • "A lovely Sunday lunch with friends.. Service was much friendlier than I expected and the food was wonderful. I am a lover of steak, but other foods were also lovely with delicate flavours. Will look forward to my next visit...."

  • "We booked an outside table in May for August, for 4 adults and 2 highchairs. We arrived on time to a grumpy maître d' who advised us they were busy outside and would we be ok with an inside table. Given that we booked in May, I said no, to which we were reluctantly allocated an outside table next to the grill. Certainly not the nicest table. Fortunately the service improved drastically once we were seated at our table. The waitress, waiter and outside manager were all attentive and polite. The day was beautiful, food delicious, if a little expensive (which was expected) and our toddlers even slept after our meal, allowing us to relax a little and enjoy the view / ambience with drinks. We will be back."

  • "Our first time in Gaucho, had great ambience and staff were friendly. Although, it was on the pricey side, as expected and there was a limited choice of main course options- not a great place for your veggie friend! Overall, we would go again because we liked the relaxed atmosphere but will save it for special occasions only."

  • "Fabulous meal for 60th birthday and family celebration"
    dined on 08/08/2014
  • "Good service and meat but everything had a price including £3 for a small amount of sauce. There was no impression of generosity, in spite of the high prices, our carafe of tap water (!) came with no ice or lemon and was not cold enough."
    dined on 08/08/2014
  • "Great steaks, lovely location but getting more expensive - £106 (plus £15 tip) for two for lunch two courses, three glasses of wine between us. Means it's special occasions only."
    dined on 07/08/2014
  • "The crevice and steaks are excellent, the cocktails are good in a nice setting by the river"

  • "I have heard mixed reviews about Gaucho over the years and finally managed to make the visit on a lovely sunday evening. I was initially surprised by how busy the restaurant was for a sunday night. We got a lovely table outside, the service was excellent, staff very confident and knowledgeable, food exceptional and given the size of my husbands steak, he needed to have a 'food pause'. The staff recognised this, came back when hubby was ready to eat again and reheated steak on the outside grill. We moved inside for the rest of the evening as it was getting chilly. All in alll a lovely dining experience. It is true, it is not a cheap night out, but we knew that before booking."

  • "Recently visited this restaurant and the food was amazing. Although a bit pricey i didn't mind as it was a one of treat for my partners birthday. Service was great and the decor was nice. Played up to date music and the atmosphere was buzzing."

  • "The outdoor area is fantastic for watching the evening sky turn from blue to a red hue as the sun sets behind the trees that like the riverbank. The service is fantastic. However we were let down by quality of food. I have eaten in gaucho many times before and so know what to expect. We ordered the 3 steak taster to share, but all 3 pieces of meat were disappointing. Sirloin overcooked and the skirt was incredibly chewy and tough, so much so that neither my gf or I could finish a piece so we left most if it on the plate. So if I go again I would steer clear of cheaper cuts of meat"

  • "Great food and service and a fantastic location. The best steaks in London"
    dined on 01/08/2014
  • "We also enjoy Gaucho. Food is excellent, service is fine and ambience is good, too. But it is expensive. Which is fine, and understood. But charging £3 for the sauces for each steak ? That is penny pinching and irritating. If I were running Gaucho I would cancel this practice immediately. Six of us dined at the Richmond restaurant this past Monday. So that is £18 for sauces. That is ridiculous."

  • "We went to gauchos for dinner to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday. The service was excellent!! Our waitress kinka made sure our daughter had a great time, after realising my daughter didn't drink, she changed her complementary glass of champagne to a non alcoholic strawberry cocktail. She was also offered a dessert with candle and her name and happy birthday written on the plate in chocolate. A big thank you to the wonderful staff!!!"

  • "We had never been to Gaucho's before, but decided to book, for a special birthday lunch. It is a lovely restaurant set beside the Thames. We had a very warm welcome when we arrived, the staff were helpful and knowledgeable about the menu, and were always around should you need them, but never intrusive. The service was prompt and efficient and food was cooked to perfection. We we go again, Definitely."

  • "We went to Gaucho's Richmond to celebrate my sisters 50th we sat outside until gone midnight right on the river it was lovely. We had one chewy steak which wasn't even the steak we ordered but they were quick to take this off the bill and told us they would be more than happy to have cooked a fresh piece."
    dined on 26/07/2014
  • "We had a dissappointing meal on Saturday night. I had been looking forward to going as we often go to Gaucho in town. The location is fantastic but the good and service were not. Considering the price you could eat a lot better."
    dined on 26/07/2014
  • "As always the food at Gaucho was fabulous. The staff were friendly as always which resulted in a fabulous evening with friends"
    dined on 26/07/2014
  • "Lovely location, great atmosphere, excellent service, fantastic food. A little on the expensive side, but well worth it."
    dined on 25/07/2014
  • "Service was rushed so we did not enjoy what was suppose to be a relaxing dinner. Too many staff running around. The food was ok, experience was not."
    dined on 25/07/2014
  • "I would very much like to post a positive review but hard to do so. Service was very slow. Waitress showed no emotion, everything she said was just patter. Need to show a much more personal approach. Drinks order never arrived and when it did it was wrong. Steaks were good but very poor show on the sides, should be serving hand cut chips for this price not machine manufactured. Side Salad was dreadful coated in some form of dressing. Did not seem fresh. Incredibly noisy atmosphere....not sure I would frequent establishment again."
    dined on 24/07/2014
  • "Good bar, great ambiance inside and out. The steaks are great and the fish from the outdoor grill is also excellent. Ceviche and many other great started. Probably the best Argentinian wine menu anywhere in the UK."
    dined on 20/07/2014
  • "Apart from one of the steaks being over cooked, I couldn't fault the food. The service however, was awful, we had two waitresses, one was OK, the other appalling. They did not bring the steaks out like they did the first time and show the different types. Then the second waitress spilt water all down my partner and sneakily hid it from her manager, she then spilt the steak sauce all down the back of my chair. Nothing was done about either and when we asked for the bill she didn't understand and had to get someone to help her. Overall, I will not be returning to Gautros Richmond, the hassle to find somewhere to park and receive that service is not worth the time."
    dined on 19/07/2014
  • "Great location, very friendly staff, if you like meat, you will like the place."
    dined on 14/07/2014
  • "Food and service were great as usual, our waitress had a great wine recommendation, catered to our little menu requests and sorted out birthday candles. It's refreshing that they still don't include 12.5% service on the bill, I think it makes the staff there a lot more friendly, and the customers a lot happier to leave a tip"
    dined on 12/07/2014
  • "Gauchos has always been very good in terms of food and ambience but the Richmond Riverside venue is a stunning location which makes it feel very special. Lovely friendly service and the option to dine alfresco. Great tunes too!"
    dined on 12/07/2014
  • "We also go to Gaucho for our anniversary and they never disappoint and if you get good weather its sure to be a great atmosphere as you sit on the terrace and watch the world go by. Its very relaxing atmosphere the staff incredibly friendly, helpful and they certainly know their meat :) I will always recommend the Lomo fillet and they always give you great recommendations of wine or cocktails or in my case mocktails as I am pregnant. A delightful afternoon"

  • "We went to Gaucho in Richmond to celebrate my girlfriend getting a new job. The restaurant was busy and humming when we got there at 9:30. The staff seemed attentive at first, but eventually there attentiveness became annoying. Our table felt a little bit cramped, as we were very close other tables for two on both sides of us. Since we were a late sitting on the staff were obviously very keen to clean up the other tables next-to-last when they finished dinner, and one member of staff carelessly sprayed table cleaner mist over my dinner plate. Fortunately I was three quarters of the way finished. The food was very nice though and had the service been more thoughtful then I'm sure we could have had a very nice evening."
    dined on 11/07/2014
  • "First trip here for a long time. Plus points are the lovely location and we had pre-dinner cocktails outside. The steaks were good too as was the winelist and the superb sommelier to talk us through it. Minus points were the starters and cost - £12 for a bellini is steep - for Richmond. Overall I'd rather go into town and eat at Hawksmoor -much better and about the same price"
    dined on 11/07/2014
  • "The service was great, the steak was sumptuous, the location is stunning, and the ambiance was perfect"
    dined on 11/07/2014
  • "Gaucho Richmond. Great setting, service as expected, very good food, excellent selection of wines, if a little pricey. Thoroughly recommended for a special occassion where you want to spend a little bit extra on food and drink."
    dined on 10/07/2014
  • "Apart from the steak which was nice, I won't be rushing back. Terrible 'serviche' starters , poor service and quite expensive Trying to pretend it's better than it is, and nowhere near any of the good restaurants in London Shame, as Richmond so deserves better restaurants , but this just didn't meet the mark"
    dined on 09/07/2014
  • "Gaucho never seems to disappoint & the Richmond one has a beautiful setting alongside the river. The attention to detail (service wise) and fantastic food make it well worth the premium paid for a steak & we will definitely be back!"
    dined on 08/07/2014
  • "Exquisite starters (the ceviche is divine), beautifully cooked steak and lovely desserts, all paired with excellent wines at every course! I can't fault the food or service and we had a memorable evening by the river celebrating a birthday!"
    dined on 05/07/2014
  • "My fiancé and I have eaten at Gaucho Richmond before, as well as other branches of the restaurant around London. This last experience was the most disappointing. The music was so loud we couldn't hear each other speak and had to spend the night shouting at each other over a very small table! We also couldn't hear our waitress and she couldn't hear us, so again, a lot more shouting. Our drinks took 20 minutes to arrive and when our food did arrive it wasn't the delicious, high quality we've come to expect from Gauchos. For the prices you pay the food was very average (slightly overlooked green beans and a very mediocre baby gem salad to accompany our meat). The experience just wasn't worth it and sadly, we won't be going back."
