A word from Gaucho Sloane
Style is definitely the order of the day for Gaucho Sloane, situated on arguably one of the coolest "Avenues" in London if not Europe.

Took my grandad and cousin here as
a treat and it was great. Lovely restaurant with nice decor. Wonderful service from very helpful and happy staff. Lovely food and wine. Will be returning."

I had several diner at various
Gaucho and never been disappointing. Not cheap it meets expectations. The meat is very good and service friendly and efficient. Good choose of wine particularly Argentinian ."

Went to Sloan square for
anniversary , meal was excellent, problem with starter which was sorted out with no issues"

Huge fan of gaucho normally but
had never been to this location before. Not busy but service erratic and slow, meat requested med-well served rare, by time replacement was given everyone had finished eating and remaining sides were cold so could not eat, didn't want desserts but was surprised with a small piece of cake with candle for husband's birthday - thought lovely gesture until we then found we had been charged for a dessert on the bill (later removed). Unlikely to return."

This Gauchos doesn't live up to
the experience you get at the O2 venue. Not guided to the bar area for a pre-dinner drink just ushered straight to our table despite being early. The music way too loud, even the waiter commented about it so no banter could be had. Starters were good. Scallops were massively overpriced at £17.50. You wouldn't expect to pay more than £10-£12. The steaks were a let down, all served lukewarm. Within 2 mins steaks had pretty much gone cold. No check by the waiter so no opportunity to get this remedied without making a big fuss. Had to ask them to point out each steak on the tasting plates as my parents had never dined at a Gauchos before. Overall it was disappointing for the £300+ bill (no desserts or coffees)."

Excellent meal which was topped
off by the waiter (cannot remember his name but he was french speaking). Greeted upon arrival with friendly and smiling staff. They also took note of our request for a quieter table so we were placed nicely in the corner - top marks! Waiter came over and introduced himself, explaining where the meat and wine came from followed by him bringing out the meat for us to look at. Good recommendation of wine and it certainly helps when a waiter knows what he is talking about which our waiter was more than competent and knowledgeable. The fillet steak (lomo) and chicken were fantastically cooked. Highly recommended and the waiter made it a meal to remember! Thanks see you soon."

At 18.30hrs on a pleasant Monday
evening the whole dining experience at Gauchos was ruined by loud, bland music being played throughout the restaurant. I asked for a quieter table but was told this is a "Night Club experience" and the music is loud everywhere - end of story. No wonder Hawksmoor was fully booked that evening and Guauchos was largely empty. The food is arguably better at Gauchos but the evening restaurant ambiance is excruciating. I will not be back."

This resteraunt has gotten far too
expensive for what it is. It used to be a nice place to go for dinner but they are constantly raising the prices. £18 for 6 scallops is not a great deal."
dined on 10/07/2014
Excellent meal - never a
disappointment at Gaucho. Would definitely return"
dined on 04/07/2014
Gaucho's was recommended and did
not disappoint. Service was fantastic, from explaining the different cuts of meat to side orders that would compliment what we had chosen. Two of us shared a 300g steak which was more than enough however, the deserts were to tempting to pass. We opted for the cheesecake, never tasted anything so divine. Will definitely be back."

The restaurant when they seat you
at the restaurant bar is to loud to hear the conversation at the table. The service is awful and you spend a lot of time waiting for the waiter to take your order and service the table. The last two visits have been awful. Not going back to this one."
dined on 23/06/2014
Service at sloane was great. Made
you feel welcome and look after. Would defiantly go back t Sloane again."

Went here with my family to
celebrate daughter's 30th birthday. Can't fault it at all. I had mentioned in advance that my future son in law had leg in plaster and they were fully prepared with adequate access for him and crutches. They also brought out special desert with candle for my daughter. Staff couldn't have been more attentive, food was out of this world. It's by no means cheap but you certainly get the big experience to match the big bill! Well done to all and thank you very much"

We had reserved a table and were
running late, a quick call to a very friendly and helpful person was enough to amend the booking. From the moment we got in and throughout the entire evening, service was top-notch and we felt very welcomed. The restaurant is very cozy and food was high quality - albeit a bit too salty to our taste. It is by no means a cheap place to dine at but you do get what you pay for."

The service was the highest of all
the gauchos I have visited, the staff were knowledgeable and helpful. The food was well described and was amazing to taste, the caramel cheesecake was something to behold. Great wine selection- highly recommend"

Many of my friends had eaten at
Gaucho's across London and we booked the Sloane restaurant as we were visiting London with friends. We were very impressed on arrival and the staff were very friendly. The look and feel of the restaurant was vary good with a mixture of booths and table/chairs. The service throughout was excellent. We were all very impressed with the standard of the food and there was a wide selection of wines to choose from. We queried what wine to have and the waitress was very helpful explaining about the regions in Argentina. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would certainly go back when in London again! "

As in all the previous visits,
everything is to a high standard, from the greeting to the meat board to quality of steaks and of course, service."
dined on 30/05/2014
The food was lovely, we did the
lunch special and it was great value for money. The service was great, very friendly and attentive, would definitely recommend Gaucho's."

My 1st time at Gaucho Sloane was
1year ago and it was cool.I had dinner in the beautiful room on the back.Food good as usual, they arranged all the dishes to be gluten free.Amazing basket of gluten free bread with many types of GF bread. I ve been to Gaucho last week and the experience has been slightly different.I arrived at 9pm as per reservation and I couldn't dine in the nice room in the back because they closed it,although many people were still eating there. If I had knew I would have gone somewhere else as the ambience and atmosphere is really important for me,so my dinner didnt start so nicely. We had to dine in the noisy room. Food good as usual but I only had 2small slices of gluten free bread, no more basket of bread like 1year ago"

We took our 18 year old daughter
here for a family supper on her birthday as she loves steak. The staff really looked after us and made it a special evening and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend."

Started with a cocktail, my
partener orded a pimm's and i took an old fashion. We both did not like it. if you charge me a premium price then give me the perfect cocktail please. Pimm's was very bitter wt a small slice of strawberry and nothing else. Too much wisky in my old fashion, no balance between whisky and orange. We then moved to our table, service was very slow from start to finish. I have waited 35 min to get 3small scallops and 2 burnt sausages with red peppers. I could not believe that the chef was happy sending me those sausage. My guess was the head chef was off.steak were ok nothing spacial and had better. Rasperry parfait tasted like a shop bought dessert. Gaucho is a big fashionable brand and forgot about basics."

Always love going to Gaucho when
wanting a guaranteed great steak, I normally go to the Piccadilly restaurant but the Sloane branch was nearer to Royal Albert Hall, however the service was really slow and our waiter was lazy explaining the meats which I wanted explaining to my mother in law as it was her first time. They just weren't as friendly as the other branches."
dined on 24/05/2014
it was my birthday dinner with my
wife and we invited another couple who were close friends. We had drinks in the social bar which was nice although it lacked a bit of atmosphere. We were shown to our table which must have been the arsehole table as it was crammed in the corner adjacent to the fire exit, fire extinguisher with wheelie bins outside the window!!! We kindly asked to me moved to the rear of the restaurant and the staff were more than happy to accommodate. The steaks finally arrived but the fillets were wrong - butterfly we were told but we didn't order that! Normal fillets please. It all went back. The staff were accommodating but there were little assumptions from the staff that didn't really make our night a great one!"
dined on 22/05/2014
Steak was great but the service is
what really stood out for me. I loved the look of the restaurant and the bar next door although we didn't have a drink on this occasion but we will be back to try it out. I can see how it's not for everyone but we thought it looked very cool. Even the ladies toilets were beautiful! It is pretty expensive but I guess you pay for what you get."
dined on 13/05/2014
Booked at relatively short notice
and was very pleasantly surprised to get a table. Lovely welcome, attentive service, our waiter was so knowledgeable about both food and wine to suit. Some friends rang us while we were eating and we asked if they could join us and nothing was too much trouble. In short we were very well looked after and had a lovely evening. We were celebrating some exam success and our sons dessert arrived with a hand piped 'congratulations' no big fuss but such a nice touch"

The steak was really outstanding,
however, I had to give it back because it was well done instead of medium. This may happen, but it happend to a lady at the next table as well. There is obviously room for process improvement."
dined on 11/05/2014
Pretentious place without just
cause. Galante the cocktail bar beside it was quite good."

Friendly, knowledgable staff and
excellent food. Great atmosphere, exactly what you want on a saturday evening!"

After the decidedly mixed reviews
on this website, I went half-expecting to be disappointed. I was totally wrong. Our reservation was for 6.30pm and the restaurant was quiet. The sausage platter starter was very tasty and an excellent shared dish for the table. The steaks were all very good, although the marinated fillet special tasted not much different from the standard fillet. Dessert was also well above average. Our waiter, Richard, was outstanding. "

best beef in London - wide range
of choices, delivered as it should be and with generous cuts"

great food ,great staff they know
their wines and food.makes a change for staff to be trained as good as these. "

the experience was worthwile
indeed. Meat is 1st class and ambience is nice (although table was too close to the open kitchen...). Service is excellent and the wiine tasting experience was outstanding. I'll be back. Thank you"

Gaucho used to be one of our
favourite restaurants when we lived in London 2,5 years ago but unfortunately mood and quality have changed; the drink list is new (no more Caipirinhas) and quality of food has deteriorated (cheesebread very dry, meat only okayish, portion of Humitas only half the size it used to be, mushroom sauce plain, etc.) - no value for money paying 46 pounds for a filet steak which is at best average. Also service is not as good any more - we had to wait for our table half an hour at the bar which rather looks like a strip club. What a pity - we used to like Gaucho very much but after this very disappointing experience we will not go there again when we are back in London..."
dined on 24/04/2014
Booked for 9pm but took them one
hour to seat us in the restaurant, hostesses clueless. Once we were at the table, our waiter was very good and the food was nice."
dined on 12/04/2014
The reastaurant over all gives you
a nice experience, but we had a reservation for a table at 21.15, but weren't seated until ca 22.20. That is outrageous."
dined on 12/04/2014
The atmosphere and service was
great, but the steaks were not all they were cracked up to be (not particularly flavoursome and dry). For a steak restaurant this is a bit of a problem. Can't fault the friendly service and a very helpful sommelier. If you're charging top £ pricing I'd expect a little more on the food front."
dined on 12/04/2014
food was amazing, excellent
service...overall a very good night"

I returned to the Gaucho Grill
after blacklisting them for 6 years to see if they had sorted themselves out. I took their fillet steak which was meant to be marinated. From the taste it clearly wasn't and the quality of the steak I would give 7/10 for compared to the best Aberdeen 3 week hung fillet steak I get from my local butchers. It also arrived lukewarm on my plate. The prawn ceviche started was claimed to be fresh but had almost no flavour and so I suspect had been frozen. The Don Pedro was disappointing as had hardly any whisky in and not liquidised into a smooth drink. The veg were excellent as was the service which seems to have improved considerably but the rest of the food was disappointing."
dined on 09/04/2014
Great quality meal, accompanied by
a very good red. Staff was friendly and polite, also the ambiente of the restaurant was good (only the cow fur on the seats and at the bar was a bit too much for my taste). As you can expect in that location, it is not a cheap place, but I would definitely recommend this place!"
dined on 08/04/2014
The whole package was excellent -
delicious food, great service, unforgettable decor - all ingredients for a memorable night with someone special. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a romantic night out or anyone who wants to celebrate in style."
