Diner Reviews
  • "I came here with five friends for my birthday meal. I phoned the restaurant for directions and they were very helpful. Upon arrival our table was ready and the food was exceptional. Best steak I've ever had! Highly recommend the Fillet. Great for special occasions. My only complaint is that there was no river view - But our attention was mostly on the food!"

  • "Great food, view and service as always. The quality of the meat is outstanding and it is always cooked to perfection."

  • "Gorgeous steak full of favour. The staff really made us feel welcome right from arrival. I requested a special scenic table and they gave us that. Will definitely come back."

  • "Booked for an aniversary meal with my boyfriend. Steak was lovely. A few months ago I went to another steak restaurant in London, we felt very rushed. This was not the case in Gauchos. We LOVED it. The staff were so friendly. They also booked us a cab at the end of the night."

  • "Fantastic food, wonderful staff (our hostess explained the menu to our French Exchange student in fluent french!). Our steaks were perfection and the desserts were divine. All with the most wonderful views of Tower Bridge. And oh, to have some REAL chips... you know, ones that taste like potatoes - heaven!"

  • "Wonderful food, army of staff at your service, perfect for special occasions and romantic dinners. Only downside was the loud obtrusive music."

  • "Requested table with a view of the Tower of London and got the best table in the restaurant ,thank you"

  • "Considering the reputation of this restaurant [we have used this chain successfully in the past] we found the service patchy, food poor with the vegetables cold, and a 20 minute wait for a sub standard sweet. The sole aim of the restaurant seemed to revolve around maximum customer throughput with a minimum level of service & quality. With a final bill of over £100 we will not be gracing this restaurant again!"

  • "Just great steak. Want mung beans, go somewhere else. Enjoy the side of a cow, come here."

  • "I chose to take my mum here for her birthday as the restaurant looked lovely with good views and a modern look, however we were so disappointed!!!! The quality of food was shocking, we ordered a selection of chorizo for a starter which was a sharing platter. This turned out to be FIVE (not so appatizing) sausages stuck on a board and one tiny roster pepper! Quality was awful!! For main we had the pork, Very disappointed, menu read it came with sweet potato mash when it arrived we got what looked like a whole potato that had been chopped by a 6 year old and stuck on a plate not even mashed! When we complained mum was presented with a trio of desserts no refund no alternative!! Can honestly say extremely disappointed for the money!!"

  • "Always a firm favourite. Steak is always good. Cocktails even better!"
    dined on 08/08/2014
  • "Good food, ambience was nice but lots of staff standing around at a pod/ unit to our right. Table was very small by the time water and wine were poured and they tried to fit on numerous plates for mains/ sides. I felt it had lost it's edge slightly on previous visits - still a huge fan of the food though, it's never a disappointment!!!"

  • "We had a team lunch here and the food was good. The choice on the set menu was good. 3 starters and mains and 2 puddings. There was a fish and veggie option and rib eye steak for the meat eaters. The service was good if a little too prompt - the starters were cleared and the mains came out within seconds!"

  • "Gaucho never fails to impress, they understand customer service perfectly! The food is life changing and all cooked to perfection. Does not feel like part of a chain at all as the experience is just that good! This is fine dining, some would be put off the prices but I believe that you pay for what you get here. I'll be back very soon!"
    dined on 02/08/2014
  • "The food was really good, the steak was excellent quality! The only downside was how rushed we were by the staff. We could barely have a conversation because the waitor was interupting every few minutes. The food came out with no break inbetween and we were then hassled about dessert. On the end we asked them to leave us be! The atmosphere was nice except for the music which was way too loud. I would rather go to an independant restaurant like Santa Maria del Sur in the future."

  • "Food was lovely as it always is however the evening was some what ruined when we were moved from our table after our main course. We were told that we would be more comfortable if we sat upstairs however when we got upstairs we were shoved in the corner of the room at the bar as there were no tables 'avaliable' for us, yet there were two or three tables that were free. When asked if we could have our old table back we were told that they had just given it away, I felt as though we were chucked off our table just so the restaurant could make more money by rushing us along and giving our table to another paying customer. I will not be going back to the tower bridge gaucho any time soon as this experience has ruined it for me"

  • "Had a fab night at Gaucho for a romantic dinner for my boyfriend's birthday. The wait for the table was a little long, so I had to stand by the bar (all the seats were taken) for a good 20 mins before being seated. That's the only complaint, the rest of the evening was amazing - the manager and staff were attentive and warm, food was delicious as ever (shame that the spinach side has been taken off the menu, but that was a personal favourite) and the crew organised a surprise birthday dessert with a candle for my date, which was lovely."
    dined on 01/08/2014
  • "Disappointing evening, meal felt really rushed in a soul-less part of the restaurant (downstairs). When we complained that the steak was too tough it was nonchalantly shrugged off by staff suggesting "maybe it's the knife" who then ignored us for the rest of the meal. Have visited Gaucho many times but seems to be resting on its laurels more recently, £180 later we declined to add service to pursed lips and left."

  • "I pre-booked and mentioned that my girlfriend and I were celebrating an anniversary. I also asked for a table looking out to Tower Bridge. On arrival the reception team greeted us and wished us a happy anniversary. We were then seated upstairs facing out to Tower Bridge, it was perfect. The service was excellent with all staff knowledgable about the menu. A special mention to John our server."

  • "This is an odd restaurant with contrasts. The food is excellent ie the steaks and vegetables and for that you do pay a premium. Service was indifferent. At some stages all over us and others eg obtaining the bill ...nowhere to be found. I was initially put on a table backing onto a "waiter service unit" and I asked to be moved as the waiters were talking non -stop. The wine list is good but pricey. By the glass options were difficult to find on the menu and I still have no idea whether the units were 175mls, 250mls or another measure. Unless you need the meat and protein, I would not hurry back.John H"

  • "Went back with some colleagues from the US. We all loved it! Wonderful meat with one of the best views in town. Can't wait to go back again..."

  • "It has been a great experience. I have gone there to have dinner with my girlfriend in our 3rd anniversary and we could eat exceptional beef from Argentina and a very very good wine. After the dinner, they give you the name of the wine in case you want to buy it."
    dined on 27/07/2014
  • "As a regular customer of gaucho hampstead I was really looking forward to an amazing evening at tower bridge, I have no nice things to say about my experience at all, the food was shocking my steak contained more sinew than meat and my girlfriend asked for her steak medium and it came out well done, the green beans were stone cold and the broccoli stems were not cooked,"
    dined on 26/07/2014
  • "It was experience... Steak was good, but service was very poor. There are three different person who served our table. All new asked about details of my order. In the end, they put in my bill extra price for dessert which one originally was included in set-menu. Not recommended because of service quality."

  • "Absolutely loved every single bit of my visit to Gaucho!"
    dined on 23/07/2014
  • "It was a beautiful evening and the hosts accommodated our need for a surprise dinner. Everyone was very kind, welcoming, and friendly. However, our starters took longer than normal to be served and we were told they were served to another table. Obviously this was frustrating but the servers and food made up for it! The wine was delicious as well. Everything was perfect. Thank you for a great night!"

  • " We arrived early and the greeting was very warm and friendly. We went to the bar to wait for our son and his girlfriend to arrive but service was slow to take our order and very slow to bring our drinks - considering we were the only ones in the bar and the restaurant was not busy. When our son arrived again a slow service. However once in the restaurant service and food was excellent."

  • "Gaucho's is always very good but Tower Bridge is in a lovely setting. The food and service are both excellent and we'd go back for special occasions anytime. Fine food with a fine food price tag but well worth it."

  • "We had a lovely anniversary meal here. Stunning views, great food and the waitress was fantastic - had mentioned it was our anniversary and she provided us with complimentary dessert wine and a lovely message on our desserts. I have been to a few of the Gaucho's, all great experiences, but this one will probably be the most memorable."
    dined on 18/07/2014
  • "I've eaten at Gaucho Farringdon before and had the best steak I've ever eaten plus fantastic service. Again service was great, they even gave my partner a (bitesize) cake on a decorated plate for her birthday (I had mentioned on booking) without the need for a prompt on the day. Sadly I just didn't think the steak was that impressive. Don't get me wrong,it was still nice, I've just come to expect to be blown away by Gaucho's beef."

  • "Well established chain and you get what it says on the tin - a decent, well cooked steak. One for the carnivores. "Fries" could have been crispier. House red (Malbec) was decent. Main issue was the level of the music - had to nearly shout over it to be heard. Scallops cerviche, was good but not out of the ordinary. Cheese for desert was above average with decent size portions and desert sampler was again pretty decent. Service was quick and possibly a little rushed but attentive. Great views from the first floor"

  • "Amazing Tower bridge views! Along with delicious food and very friendly staff. Sorry I'm vegetarian so cannot comment on meaty dishes, its speciality but according to people I went with, it is excellent. The ambience is a bit too dark at night but the bridge illumination compensates and makes the venue a very romantic or special occassions place."

  • "Best restaurant iv been to in years, outstanding service with attention to detail, extremely kind staff very attentive, fabulous food, glam decor. Overall Fantastic :)"

  • "Well what can I say. It was last minute on Opentable, entrance was great, our server for the night was amazing, showed us the cuts and understood what he was talking about. The food tasted awesome! The steaks were perfect, great sides and amazing wine. Deserts were great. I ordered wines and our server suggested one was not the best but recommended an alternative, we got both and his knowledge was bang on the money. Only thing if i was picky, which i am, was that the music was really loud for such a packed restaurant so the ambience while there was just a little to much as every one was speaking over the music. I will most certainly be back, and a regular if the lady allows, when do you introduce a loyalty scheme??"

  • "Fantastic dining experience as always. Great food great service for that special occasion"
    dined on 12/07/2014
  • "Service and meal was very good. Only downside was that they had run out of chicken (for a meal early Saturday evening) and didn't have the bottle of wine we'd ordered. The churrasco de chorizo was tender and was complemented well by the chips, mushrooms and broccoli."
    dined on 12/07/2014
  • "Great food and wine. Let's down by waiter’s laissez faire attitude. Waited ages for initial drinks and even longer for bread and olives. Table wasn’t cleared promptly, kept having to ask for stuff rather than be asked – such a shame as food is always very good."
    dined on 12/07/2014
