  • "The restaurant does not have a huge menu but what they do have is quite nicely done and you will have an enjoyable meal there. The service is attentative with one manager who seems to know all of his regulars. The food is excellent and well composed, although some say the portions are not huge which is the case. We had our coffee at the lounge which was a nice touch to the end of the meal! A nice quite place to dine - its not a busy place and I welcome the individual attention and service. Don't go there if you want to be seen or want a bustling place. This is low key and relaxing!"

  • "This is a very good quite place to have a nice dinner. The menu is very interestingly created (set menu with course options) and encourages you to try different tastes and flavours. The ambience is quiet as we were there on a weekday and had 4 other tables, but that being said, it was a nice dining treat and we felt well taken care of."

  • "I booked on toptable for Valentines dinner with the fact that there was a 'special' menu on offer at double the price of the normal menu not mentioned on their/TT website. To their credit, they did call me to ask if this was acceptable. The menu, however, seemed to be a shell of what is usually on offer. The food was decent but not worth the price. The portions were also fairly pultry, with all dishes seemingly served according to the Atkins' Diet, with no choice of ordering any side dishes. The salted caramel chocolate tart was so heavy on caramel that it was inedibly sweet. My favourite dish was the measly honey and ginger panna cotta. Wine good. Service ok. I would like to go back to try the normal menu as that looks far better."

  • "When I searched for restaurants in London that offered good brunches, Taste at The Cadogan came up. What a mistake. First, they don't even have brunch, but breakfast. We were booked for an early brunch at 10:45 and they were not ready for us, quickly sat us, never gave us menus and were back in 15 minutes to take our order. Not off to a good start. As they cleared tables around us, they left condiments on the benches and chairs and did not remake the tables, a very unsettling environment for a very expensive non-brunch. Service was atrocious. We were the last table being served and had to wait forever for everything. Had to stop waiters and give them our used plates as they would not clear our table. The food was good, but not a good value."

  • "We must have visited on a bad day judging by previous reviews. We arrived 10 mins early were left waiting at the desk for 5 mins before anyone came, then shown to the bar to wait for another 15 mins. There was just one person serving and despite the fact the restaurant wasn't anywhere near full, service was shocking. Food was good and value for money but they needed staff. Ordered a drink which didn't arrive, had pre ordered a birthday plate which never materialised, empty glasses weren't cleared and we waited about 50 mins for dessert. Even when it filled up with afternoon tea guests, it lacked atmosphere."

  • "'Great Taste' at the Cadogan is a pleasant fifteen minute stroll from Victoria Station and is very close to the upmarket shopping facilities of Knightsbridge. The hotel has an interesting history, with its connections to Lillie Langtry and Oscar Wilde, and I feel that more could have been made of this within the restaurant's decor (perhaps some old photographs or quotes?). I also prefer the restaurant's previous name of 'Langtry's'. The meal itself was delicious - the ingredients were of a very high quality - and the service was excellent. I would like to have seen a more extensive menu and more than one vegetarian option but the ambience of our surroundings and the attentiveness of our waiter made up for this."

  • "This hotel restaurant at the time of dining had a promotion extolling the virtues of British produce. Certainly the starters we had featuring meat products was very good if a tad on the smallish side, although the price for the menu is reasonable for the locality. The outstanding dish was the deer which was really tender and flavoursome. Desserts were slightly disappointing; the lemon meringue pie was standard stuff and the clafouti decent but not outstanding. Still worth trying if you are in the area."

  • "Disappointingly Tamasina Myers was no longer the guest chef but we were not at all disappointed in the food. The restaurant is charming and tasteful but empty at lunchtime. Nevertheless, the chef treated us to an outstanding meal for four.Probably one of the best meals we have experienced in London. We will certainly return towards Christmas."

This Restaurant (at the Hotel of the same name) has not been discovered by pre-concert goers at Cadogan Hall, at least not when we attended Guys and Dolls for the restaurant was empty. Pity this restaurant isn't closer to theatreland because it serves the best slow cooked braised ox cheek I have tasted, which might even surpass that of Clos Maggiore, our favourite west end restaurant for pre-theatre dinners."

Maitre D was efficient and very informative giving details of the award winning foods incorporated into the menu. At £28 pp for 3 courses it was excellent value. The setting is lovely, the food divine. The maitre d' was very attentive and may be a little off putting to some who prefer a quiet meal. The whole experience was only let down by disappointing desserts - we all had different choices and the only good one was the chocolate and chilli pudding.   • "They use produce that won during the Great Taste of Britain contest and the menu changes frequently with celebrity chefs and food critics contributing to the design of the dishes. When we were there the dishes were designed by the winner of masterchef and a critique from one of the larger news papers. Overall, the dishes worked and were well priced. The highlights for us were the Pollack Baked in Salt Doug (9/10) and the chocolate dessert (8/10). The service was good and attentive. The interior is very old and stuffy (posh), which is not really to my liking, but others might like that sort of thing (we were definitely the youngest dinners there). In total we paid £130, including 6 glasses of alcohol and service charge."

  • "I went with friends to the Cadogan on Sloane Street on a Thursday night. It is a lovely romantic room with well spaced out tables. Service was good apart from the fact that an item was added to the bill which we had not had. A real shame when restaurants do that as you can never know for sure whether it was a genuine mistake. The food was good although trying a bit too hard perhaps, there was no need for quite so many different ingredients on each dish. The punch was pretty awful."

  • "Being some one that is always looking out for a gold award on food products this was always going to be a winner, the food was absolutely delicious. I had a plate of cold meats to start with which could not be faulted the presentation was exemplary, and the taste was equally as good, for the main dish I ate three ages of lamp again to cook three differently aged sheep to such perfection deserves absolute praise, I was astounded by the taste not only was it fabulous but each different age of lamb was cooked to perfection a touch of colour and ample flavourings. The service was very good, attention was paid to my needs by the staff and they provided a friendly and efficient service. I would definitely go again especially as the menu gave so many wonderfully choices that I would still like to sample."
