The menu encompasses our idea of “modern authenticity” which is at the heart of everything at Hakkasan. We acknowledge tradition while embracing and crafting change.

Highlights include the Crispy duck salad, Chinese chive dumpling with prawn and crabmeat, Crispy smoked duck and pumpkin puff, Pork and prawn shumai and Grilled Chilean sea bass.

A word from Hakkasan Hanway Place

Hakkasan Hanway Place is the original Hakkasan restaurant. This Michelin starred Chinese restaurant was designed by the famed Christian Liaigre, the intricate wooden lattice screens, carved out of dark English oak, invite discerning guests for a unique dining experience with contemporary cuisine from Chef Tong Chee Hwee. The menu has a strong Chinese ethnic identity with an ethos of Cantonese cooking.

Hakkasan Hanway Place launched ‘Dim Sum Sundays’ in 2013. Priced at £48 or £58 per person, Dim Sum Sundays is a weekly lunch event with music from Hakkasan lounge DJs, available every Sunday from 12pm until 5.00pm, and from October 26th the menu is available up until 6.30pm.

The £58 menu includes a cocktail from Hakkasan’s award-winning list to start, followed by a half bottle of Louis Roederer Brut Premier Champagne per person ( or a Magnum per 4 guests) and concludes with a digestive cocktail to enjoy with dessert.

  • Not great for dietary requirements

We went along for the brunch menu offered on a Sunday. We advised our waitress one of the diners was allergic to shellfish so could the brunch menu be altered to accommodate this. This sent our waitress into absolute melt down. I can't believe we are the first diners at Hakkasan to have ever had dietary requirements. To begin with, we were told the diner with the shellfish allergy would simply miss out on the courses that contained shellfish?? We immediately told her that wasn't suitable and a substitute should be served in its place. After much deliberating and back and forth with her managers and the kitchen, the waitress finally realised how to manage the situation. Expect more of a restaurant like this.

Great restaurant if you're looking for something a bit special or want to impress. Incredible food, just be careful not to over order, the portions are surprisingly generous! We were there for a birthday and without the prompt they brought out a dessert decorated with a personal message and candle, such a lovely touch and really finished the night perfectly.

Have been at both Hanway Place and Mayfair restaurants in the past. Admittedly during the week on business and this latest experience was on a weekend. However, the ambience was much different than i remembered. Loud "club music" playing and overall ambient from conversations also very loud. Needed to speak loudly to be heard by my companion --it was a birthday celebration and turned out to be a bad choice. Ambience fine if you are in a loud group and wanting to party, but for the money there are better choices if you are looking to be able to have a conversation with your partner.

I decided to go here for my anniversary as my girlfriend loves Chinese food and it was recommended as one of the best and it didn't disappoint. The food was fantastic and we shared the salt and black pepper squid to start, the best I've had and duck rolls and the pork ribs (falling off the bone). The mains were if not better as I had what can only be described as fillet steak in a black Bean sauce and my girlfriend had the sweat and sour pork which was fantastic. Top that off with a great wine and service (a special desert made for our anniversary which wasn't requested, nice touch) and I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

I went before with friends and ordered from the normal menu. We absolutely loved it (but the bill was ridiculous) so this time I went with my partner before the Opera and we ordered from the "Best of Hakkasan" taster menu. I think that this taster menu is not as good as ordering from the regular one. Portions were small and the food although beautifully cooked, wasn't very interesting (except the scrab starter, that was amazing). I'll definitely go again but I would love to see different taster menus as otherwise, it can be a very expensive night ordering from the regular menu. Service as usual was impecable. I love this place :)

Ate at Hakkasan with two friends. We had the £35 menu which was good value. The steamed dumplings were delicious and tender and the beef and sea bass that followed were also very nicely cooked. Surprisingly though the highlight for all of us was the desserts - I had the chocolate ginger torte which was fabulous. The ambience is very dark and intimate, would be ideal for a date or special treat. It's hard to find though, make sure you have a good look at the map before you set off! Service was very attentive and pretty speedy. Would recommend.

We recently celebrated a birthday and had the Dim Sum Sunday menu, complete with 2 cocktails and half bottle of champagne each. The food was very good, though we had to ask for an extra venison puff as we were one short on our table of 5; the waiter quickly brought us another one, and apologised. Though the restaurant was very busy, our glasses were kept nicely topped up and the food kept coming; we were asked if we'd like a break before our main course, which we did. We were also asked if we'd all like the same main, or some of the sea bass and some of the beef - we had some of both and the dishes were delicious. When they brought out the desserts, they'd prepared a plate with happy birthday and a candle, a very nice touch.

Went to hakkasan this Saturday and had the taste of hakkasan menu for £35. Starter is ok, either 4 dim sum or soft shell crab. Main was such a dissapointment! Such a piddly portion accompanied by masses of jasmine rice. Dessert selection was good as we could order from al la carte menu. This is ok for a light meal, but with a class of wine each not sure a bill of £48 each is worth it.

This was our 2nd visit here and although the food is still good, the £35 Taste of Hakkasan where you could sample four different main courses had been replaced by 'choose one main dish from three offered' which is not so great. Could this be cost cutting? Cocktails are still amazing though if somewhat pricey at £12.50 each. The service was outstanding and before ordering our waitress asked us if we had any allergies to any type of food. Told her I was allergic to papaya and when ordering desert she remembered and without me prompting said she would ask chef if any or the deserts contained papaya and if they did they could swap it. All staff very friendly and courteous.

no question that Hakkasan is a quality restaurant but there are aspects that given the prices - £100 ahead with one bottle of wine- frustrate. Because of the 2 hour table slot the first 2 courses are rushed and then you have a long break before desert. This allows them to ensure that you do not overrun your allotted time, it does however undermine the experience. The other frustration which is by means just a Hakkasan habit is the wine waiters obsession with filling already half full wine glasses . This is a clear attempt to get you to buy more wine. The food is still good but maybe lacking the wow factor when it gives the impression of coming out of the kitchen on a conveyor belt.

Went with my husband and the food was fabulous and it was a stunning restaurant. The bar man was lovely and chatty and mixed the best cocktail I have ever had. However our waiter seemed to think it was beneath him serving someone on the special offer menu. He took great delight in telling us that if we had ordered the duck on the a la carte we would of got twice as much! We also found the wine v expensive. However we would still recommend the restaurant for a special occasion.

I have to admit, I didn't do my research before I booked a table here. All I knew is that Hakkasan was a Michelin rated Chinese restaurant and I was expecting more of a elegant dining establishment than the hip-tendy lounge that it is....not that we were disappointed. It is just we dressed more like diner at the Savoy when we should have been dressed for diner at a hip night club. Be forewarned - club music going in the background makes it difficult to have a conversation without yelling. If you're looking for a romantic evening, this probable isn't your best bet. If you're looking for a hip and trendy restaurant to have a fantastic meal before a night out at a club with friends, this is an excellent choice! Thoroughly enjoyed it!
