A word from Harwood Arms
The Harwood Arms re-opened in September 2008 after some much needed refurbishment.
This rural haven in the middle of Fulham is a collaboration between Brett Graham of the famed Ledbury restaurant, Mike Robinson of the acclaimed Pot Kiln pub in rural Berkshire and Edwin Vaux from the famous Vaux brewery.
The idea is to provide Londoners with a really relaxed venue for eating the finest British produce, cooked amazingly well, accompanied by excellent beer and wine at a great price.
Making this happen in the kitchen is a team of highly skilled passionate chefs staying true to the Michelin-Starred legacy Stephen Williams left behind.

Pricey but not ridiculously so, interesting menu which changes regularly, extensive wine list (the French stuff can be a bit expensive but some good value new world wines on the list), relaxed vibe but service attentive. Definitely worth a visit

Second time dining here and it was worth waiting for. The food is fabulous and the service very attentive without being intrusive. It isn't cheap £75pp for two course with a pre dinner drink + bottle of wine to share. Wines are a tad pricey but I doubt they have a bad one. Having said that, everything was superb. One for a treat or special occasions.

Liked the food and the fact there was a couple of Cask Ales although more would have been up with the average pub these days. Service was ok. Wine was overpriced. Lacked an ambiance for a pub but staff were engaging. Might go again but if I was honest I was slightly disappointed

I have never been let down by the Harwood Arms. Food, service and value for money are all excellent and they are always prepared to go the extra mile. This weekend, a late addition to our table was easily accommodated with just 45 minutes notice. This is the best pub food in all the land, beating the Hand & Flower in my opinion having been there on three occasions and to the Harwood many more. Food this good at this price will keep you going back as it has kept me going back. Thank you Harwood Arms team.

  • Over priced food on a log.

As a solo dinner I felt as an inconvenience to the staff. Upon arrival I was asked if I'd like to sit at the bar or rather one of the three stools crammed together at the end of the bar. Declining the bar, I was lead to what was obviously a table already set up for my dinning. So why ask me to sit at the bar? Ten minutes later a couple entered and were lead to the bar with disappointment and a hand reference to me sitting alone from the server. I received still water not the sparkling I requested. My after dinner drink, grand mariner, was served with ice, which I promptly sent back. The meal was uniquely served on a plank of hard wood, which I found quaint; however, the food on the log was certainly not worth the cost.

Harwood Arms' environment is perfect for a gastropub - laid back, not too formal, and not over-crowded. The wait staff is friendly and very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Most importantly, the food is outstanding! Fried pig's head and beef cheek were delicious, but even more traditional sounding fare excelled - the Jerusalem artichoke soup was amazing. The wine list was impressive, the only thing missing is better beer. There are only a couple vaguely interesting beers on tap.

Food was faultless - absolutely sublime. Sunday lunch is the best I've had in any restaurant - lovely twists and special touches as you would expect from a Michelin starred establishment. It really lived up to our (very high) expectations. Before we arrived, my partner complained that I could have found somewhere nearer and then proclaimed it worthy of 7 stars! Can't wait to return.

A good gastropub with novel menu. Waiters and waitresses were slightly stretched with a full house, but still decent. Food quality was good, but had hoped that offering could be wider. It was a good experience and would like to return for another meal there.

We had a very good experience at the Harwood arms, we had salom and roe deer shoulder and there was so much that unfortunetly we had to leave without eating dessert... So the portion size is big!! Cozy atmosphere and very informative staff about the menu. A filled restaurant - meant that the staff seemed a bit up tight - so remember to smile at the people about you ;) We had a minor misunderstanding regardring the size of the glasses of wine that we ordered when the bill arrived. Here the staff was willing to compromise and that made the experience better :) So overall a nice place to visit while in London and will come back ;)

The food was as amazing as described and the ambience is perfect for a casual meal with friends or a special occassion. The downfall was the service - we waited 30 minutes for pudding and were provided with alcoholic drinks to say sorry even though two people were not drinking. It was also difficult to get the attention of the staff which seeing as the restaurant was busy was easily explained but not what you expect for the price

We dined en famille at the Harwood Arms on a Monday night, an early 6:30 pm booking. The waiter was very nice, but the service was surprisingly slow (I am blaming the kitchen rather than the wait staff) given that the restaurant was empty when we arrived. It soon got very busy though and then it got even slower. The food was delicious - even those skeptical about some of the less appetising sounding things on the menu were soon won over. The wine was a bit overpriced (prices generally have risen along with their reputation). They nearly overbilled us, which was probably an honest mistake, but...that never leaves a good impression on a diner. The food is good though and the staff friendly so it remains a favourite.

For me that I live in Milan, Harwood Arms is a lovely place, relaxing and quiet with good food. It's doesn't seem to be the food of a pub, a traditional one always too heavy. Just a note: the plate of the snails was too hot, silly hot, why?

We visit The Harwood Arms every 2/3 months and it is still the top reference in the gastro pub arena. The basics of the menu subsist although they have known how to introduce new dishes depending on season. The atmosphere and the service complete the pack which still deserves the Michelin Star for another year. A must...

Our second visit to The Harwood Arms. Our first was on a Saturday lunchtime. This time, on a weekday evening, for a special occasion. The restaurant was much busier midweek and having an early booking we knew we'd have to vacate our table after two hours. But nothing was rushed; the service was great; and the food was outstanding. It's quite a journey for us to get to The Harwood Arms but we'll be back.

Nice place , nice atmosphere, service was only average I don't usually moan on about places but when you charge this much it should be a very good dining experience , we had rib eye for 2 the meat should be star of show , bone marrow gravy was good flavour , Yorkshire pud overdone and filled with off cuts ! Enough meat already just trying too hard ! Sweetbreads and offal are flavour of the month again and gastro pub trying to put everything on one plate , dessert disapointing the doughnut balls with no jam ! Poor
