A word from Hawksmoor Guildhall
Awarded 'Best New Restaurant' at the 2012 Tatler Restaurant Awards, Hawksmoor Guildhall is a stunning restaurant and bar in the heart of The City.
It provides 'the best power breakfast' (GQ Magazine) to London's financial capital and is perfect for meetings and entertaining clients. The 160-cover restaurant is renowned for serving dictionary thick steaks from Longhorn cattle traditionally reared by multi-award winning butchers The Ginger Pig, dry aged or at least 35 days and simply cooked on a real charcoal grill.
The wine room is big enough to conduct tastings of the extensive list of wines and ports that are available by the glass, and the bar is manned by some of the best bartenders in London serving classic cocktails and original drinks.
There is also a private dining room seating 22, as well as a table for 10 in the main dining room, which serves the exclusive beef tasting feast menu.
Hawksmoor Guildhall is also available for exclusive hire.

Very good steak, however not much to choose from. They were out of most of the steaks types (just the pricey ones left). We got complimantary prosecco as a result. Ribeye was amazing and we'll be dreaming of the bernaise in years to come. Quite noisy restaurant, business area.

  • A good place for 'the boys'.

I went as a group 2 males and 2 females on a business lunch. The décor and general ambience, although very acceptable, is quite business-like and masculine. There must have been 100 other guys there and about 5 females. The girls felt a little uneasy being in such a male-dominated environment. If every day is like this, then weekday lunchtimes this is definitely a place to go with the boys. Food was very good - as it should be for the prices they charge - ouch! Don't go near if you're a veggie.

Hard to find fault after several years' acquaintance. The steaks are as good as anywhere i.e. the best available in the UK as far as I know. It **is** expensive but the BYOB takes the sting out of that on Mondays, and also justifies the "fit for foodies" tag. Consuming a 1999 Chateau Musar in magnum surely counts as foodie behaviour! Special mention to the Vesper Martinis which were just brilliant. Hawksmoor seems lukewarm on vodka-based cocktails in general, so maybe the predominance of gin in a Vesper got them on side! It's too noisy for business meals or romance. I haven't tried brunch or Sunday lunch but imagine they would be great if offered. Service is unfailingly well timed.

This steak restaurant really delivers. They serve large succulent steaks. My colleague had the fillet and I had the Rib-Eye. both we perfectly cooked for our taste. The service was from relaxed but efficient staff. The by the glass section of the wine list was really good. Its no bargain but worth every penny. I look forward to my next visit.

Starters comprised a bone marrow dish served in the bone (may contain small bits if bone). fir the main event, one kilo of Porterhouse this time -- medium-rare as always. Delicious mushrooms, broccoli, and beef-dripping fries. All enjoyed with a full-bodied red (unfortunately I forget which). Finished off with a sticky toffee pudding. Exquisite!

First time I've ever had lobster for breakfast (Lobster Benedict), and it was amazing. The muffin was a little dry, but that the enormous lobster claw and meaty chunks more than made up for that. Steak or Full English were very tempting but alas my guest was eating light so I had to follow his lead. Lovely service, we got friendly "good mornings" from all the staff. Highly recommended for a power breakfast.

6 of us dined, this is still the number one steak in the city and the Guildhall branch is by far the most atmospheric. You find yourself in amongst all the diners who are equally pleased with themselves for having grabbed a table here. The only slight negative you could place is that this is pricey stuff, but the old adage - "you get what you pay for" is never truer than an evening @ Hawksmoor. Not somewhere for a date or romance, but groups or business entertaining are hard to beat here.

Went for meal for first time with partner and her mum, was very dark but was pleasant. The gentlemen who sat us to our table looked fresh and smart, ready for service. Sat down to suddenly be swamped by staff wearing what they want pretty much, didn't look proffesional considering we was paying top money for top food! We all dressed up to be seved by scruffy staff in jeans, trainers, shirts that clearly were from primark! The meal was amazing complements to the chefs!!! However the service in the restaurant was irritating! One girl came over 3 times in the space of 5 mins, we came because we heard excellent service excellent food but god service was annoying!! We would recommend but sort the service out! Pushed us to leave!!!! Yea thanks!

nice fillet, well cooked, should be at 34 quid just for the steak, triple cooked chips were dry and mostly crispy bits. Everything brought separately to the table, steak, sauce, chips, spinach. The spinach was overcooked and charging 3.50 for a sauce is unnecessary. The whole meal felt like it is mass produce and "prepared" as opposed to cooked. 3 main meals and a few beers £177.00, ridiculous. Great steak but at a price.

4 boys, x2 shared breakfasts, spot on. As always, the food was excellent, although portions definitely seemed smaller from the last time we had visited. We didn't finish it however so no complaints! The bacon chop is great, and the posh bubble and queak really tasty and the beans are immense (meaty and juicy). The drinks were great too - Shaky Pete's cocktail. Worked out at £44 each. My only 'watch out' would be the bill where a £4 charge was automatically added on for a charity donation. Very cheeky, and it should be opt-in, not opt-out. Absolutely recommend for special occasions or an early morning warm up.

The food at the Hawksmoor was excellent as it is at all of their restaurants however the service wasn't up to the usual high standard on this occasion. We were a group of 7 and ordered individual starters. The food was very slow in arriving and when it did we received one portion of smoked salmon for 4 people, which then took an age to be resolved. For our mains, the waiter advised an approximate weight of steak per person as we were sharing. Fortunately we ignored the advise and ordered more, which was only just enough - and we're not particularly big eaters. Drinks orders were also forgotten and had to be re-requested. The staff were not particularly attentive in general.

I booked Hawksmoor for my wife's birthday and let the staff know it was a special occasion. They were really great, and the food was good as always. Hawksmoor is not cheap - the chateaubriand alone was over £100 - but it's faultless in terms of food and service.

I love Hawksmoor. Always, all its branches. The similar, formulaic menus rub me slightly the wrong way, but other than each venue's lack of individuality, there is little to fault. A starter of potted mackerel came with the flaky fish packed under unctuous. runny fat. Delicious against the dry crispness of the thin bread slices. The steak is a revelation. I take a breath for courage and go for the cheapest cut on the menu: 55 day aged D-rump. This is sensational. It is so so good, so rich and flavourful, that after a few bites I ignore the delicious blue cheese sauce which I ordered as a side. Who needs creamy blue cheese when the flavour of the beef is so perfect in itself? Excellent sides and nice dessert, Hawksmoor rules.

Food was good but wasn't wowed by anything we ate. The meat was very good quality. Service was good although a bit slow. Felt like the waiter was a salesman trying to lead us to the most exensive items on the menu everytime. The restaurant lacked atmosphere... but then it was a Tuesday night. Overall good food but not good value. Unlikely to go back.

£166.00 for two for lunch with no starters and one dessert and two glasses of wine! Waiter recoiled when my guest asked for the Chateaubriand medium to well done - brought the sharing steak rare despite the request saying it could go back to the kitchen. It did and it still came back underdone. Dining room too austere.

A first visit on a busy Friday night. Kept waiting in bar. Taken to table when asked. Kept waiting at table for 20 minutes with no contact from staff at all, despite asking. Made more infuriating watching staff laugh and joke with each other at till station. Saved by a fantastic waitress who apologised with real feeling and ensured the rest of the evenings service was good and provided a complimentary bottle of wine for the inconvenience. Food very good. Monkfish tasty and steak was perfection as were the accompanying sides. As good as this was will not hurry back.

EXCELLENT & FRIENDLY SERVICE, STAFF REFERRED TO US BY NAME & MADE US FEEL VERY WELCOME. WE CHOSE THE HAWKSMOOR BREAKFAST FOR TWO TO SHARE. IT WAS A GREAT FEAST, IT TOOK US NEARLY TWO HOURS TO EAT IT ALL. THE UNLIMITED TOAST WAS REALLY GOOD, AS WAS THE TEAS & COFFEE, THE STAFF WERE ATTENTIVE THROUGHOUT BRINGING & REFILLING DRINKS & TOAST . WE WERE JUST FINISHING WHEN A WAITER BROUGHT US BOTH A GIFT BAG OF HANDMADE CHOCOLATES AS A GIFT AS WE WERE CELEBRATING MY FRIENDS 50th BIRTHDAY. IT WAS A VERY THOUGHTFUL TOUCH. THIS IS A PERFECT PLACE FOR A SPECIAL TREAT AT JUST UNDER £50 FOR BOTH OF US IT'S AN AFFORDABLE TREAT

Over one hundred quid per head and we didnt cane it. Food is always good, but not outstanding. If I compare to somewhere like Le Gavroche I struggle to see the value. Great atmosphere. Most the staff excellent but our main waitress was a but unfriendly. Knocked our bottle of red over and some spilt out. Instead of taking it away and replacing it, we just got a glass of wine to make up the shortfall. Id have expected them to replace the bottle. Love the vibe of the place nonetheless, and the food is good.

Expensive, but amazing meal. Bring your own wine on Monday has an extra added value as you can bring your "special wine" and keep the cost lower-ish. Great service, since arrival until we left. Only "issue" is the lights turned down halfway through dinner and it change the whole atmosphere. I booked Hawksmoor for an anniversary dinner and the overall experience was great. They called to confirm the booking and time and even accommodated my request for a nice table. The restaurant was busy but the service overall was good, the only minor thing was that we had to remind them about two items we'd ordered to go with our mains. They were delivered very promptly. As you'd expect the quality of the food was great. They rounded the evening off very nicely for us by giving us two complimentary drinks and some chocolates to help us celebrate. An unexpected, but welcome touch.
