A word from Hawksmoor Seven Dials
Winner of the Time Out Award for 'Best New Restaurant 2011', Hawksmoor Seven Dials has wowed fans and critics alike ever since it opened in 2010. Tucked away in a quiet street, the restaurant is loacted in the old Watney-Combe brewery and has retained some of the building's original features.
The 142-cover restaurant serves generously sized steaks, simply cooked on a charcoal grill, using beef from traditional British breeds supplied by award winning butchers The Ginger Pig.
Situated in the heart of London's Theatreland, Hawksmoor Seven Dials also has express pre and post theatre menus. The bar is ideal for casual burgers and hot dogs or for some of the best cocktails in London, including old school drinks and new.

We must have eaten at least 10 times at the Seven Dials branch of Hawksmoor and it is always excellent. The pre- and post-theatre menu is one of the best value menus in the West End. And a Kernel beer at the bar starts the evening perfectly.

The food service and ambience at Hawksmoor are all top class. You can choose the size of steak you order so everyone gets what they want. The restaurant is spacious so no tables are too close giving a very pleasant experience. The bar pre dinner is also very good and the service is excellent.

I have been to hawksmoor a few times and I feel it is slipping - Goodman is better by a distance at the moment. My bone-in sirloin and my colleagues fillet were not rare enough (we asked for Blue and rare). The meat was good quality but not the highest. The side dishes are too small and not tasty enough at the price - the service is excellent. I'm looking for better cooked meat to go back - Goodmans and Sophie's knocking

The steaks are possibly twice the price you would pay elsewhere but 10 times better. Absolute must for steak lovers - has to be the best place for them! Steaks at other restaurants are soooo disappointing/cooked the wrong way that I have given up ordering them. The steaks at Hawksmoor melt in your mouth!

Yet again a great evening at Hawksmoor. We had fun comparing a Porterhouse with a T-bone steak and they were both fabulous. Our waitress got our order perfectly without writing any of it down (for 4 people) - amazing!

Our steaks were cooked perfectly. Best steak I have ever eaten. Our waitress was excellent and she couldn't do enough for us, Very knowledgeable about the source and pasture fed beef we were served. My only criticism was the seasoning - less salt would have have been preferable. Our son is now looking forward to trying the steak soon.

After a much anticipated visit to Hawksmoor, whilst in London for my partners 30th birthday, it didn't disappoint. We had the pre-show express menu and both had the ribeye and triple cooked chips. The portions were huge. We also both had sticky toffee pudding which was amazing, but neither of us could finish it. Great service, great value and amazing food. Would recommend to anyone

As usual the steak was excelent, and side dishes and starters were all very high quality. I would recommend this establishment to anyone who loves steak. One concern is the service, not up to the same high standard as the food.

Another fantastic meal at Hawksmoor. I'd not eaten at the 7 Dials restaurant before; it's much more spacious than the Spitalfields one. There's nowhere better to go in London for steak. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. The service was very attentive without being overbearing. They comped my dessert as it was my birthday, which was a nice touch. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Highly recommended for special occasions.

Me & my boyfriend went there to celebrate his birthday. Very good food and drinks, staff were friendly. Loved the decoration and the "underground" style. I was expecting it to be more quite and relaxed but then I guess that a busy steakhouse in London couldnt be a quite place. Would definately go there again.

we always go after a show this time our daughter joined us , we have always told her how lovely the food is and she was looking forward to it , The bar staff did not know nothing about the beers that was on sale , when the food arrived the chips was stone cold , the peppercorn sauce was like brown water no flavour , Weordered stilton sauce and was given bernaise , then waited 15 mins for a drink to arrive to have with my meal did not arrive , went to bar and got it myself , staff seemed that they wanted us out asap to close , we have eaten here a few times and always enjoyed it but for £180 for basically three sirloins steaks and a couple of drinks you do not expect cold food and grumpy service it will be a long time before we return

I took my boyfriend here for his 30th birthday meal. We had been to Gaucho the night before so were comparing slightly! Thoroughly enjoyed an afternoon lunch with my wife, starting with cocktails and finishing with an exceptionally smooth Yamasaki whiskey. The fillet steak and lobster was excellent and comes personally recommended. Not the cheapest place but you certainly get what you pay for and the place was buzzing from when we arrived at 2.00pm until when we left at 5.00pm and that should be recommendation enough!

Went for my partners birthday, great for a special occasion. The staff kindly gave my partner a cocktail of his choice due to the birthday, and they kindly made him a special whiskey cocktail, even asking his preference to sweet or sour. For starters we ordered the belly ribs, they were delicious melt in you mouth tender. For mains we had the chateaubriand, which was to die for. So perfectly cooked, one of the, not if the best steaks i've ever had. For sides, beef dripping fries, macaroni cheese and tender steam broccoli, all of which were 10 out of 10! Shall definitely be purchasing the Hawkesmoor cooking book so i can try and replicate the mac and cheese. Overall a great meal, would highly recommend Hawkesmoor to others.

I took my son there before a show and it was fairly quiet, but we didn't fancy the special pre-theatre menu (steaks are much smaller on that menu), so we had a look at the main menu and I noticed Chateaubriand steaks for £13.00 per 100g, but it didn't say how big it was. They have the special steaks listed on blackboards along with their weight - chateaubriand was avaiable in various sizes from 750 to about 1400. We shared an 800g one (£104) and it was absolutely delicious. Meduim rare is about right for such a big piece of steak (so it is quite rare in the middle); it was well-seasoned on the outside; tender, tasty and they sliced the steak into 6 peices before serving. Good service; nicely furnished; we liked the exposed brickwork
