  • "Best Indian food out of brick lane I've had. Really fun night with friends and trying new food"
    dined on 29/08/2014
  • "The food was absolutely delicious and served quickly by our waiter who bent over backwards to ensure that we had all that we needed, explained the menu and advised us on how much to order and what was the best option for me as a veggie etc. I highly recommend it for food on the go."
    dined on 27/08/2014
  • "I have eaten at Imli Street every time I am in London since about 2007. I planned a one night stop in London just to eat there but I was disappointed. The restaurant is very noisy, very. The tables are so close together it is difficult to get between tables to sit down. The tables in the back first floor are high and also difficult to get to especially for a person who is relatively short and of a certain age. The food is good but the noise made it extremely difficult to hear the wait person and to order. I will only go back if I go for lunch and maybe not even then."

  • "Really Enjoyed the meal - Great Service, and the food was outstanding. Would recommend for a group of people as the food is great for sharing....put great for just the two also - if you don't mind sharing your food that is !"

  • "Imli Street formerly Imli, is one of our favourite places in London. We found it three and a half years ago by accident. Since then we have had our joint Hen and Stag party dinners there. And last year and this year we had our wedding anniversary dinners there. We have been several times in between where the food and service never disappoint! The spice level is just right and the dishes do not ooze with cooking oil as you would find in an ordinary Indian restaurant. But Imli Street is far from ordinary, the menu selection reflects the varied cuisines scattered across the Indian subcontinent. My Favourite is the Ambur Biryani......yummy to the max!!"

  • "We ate from the Opentable menu - 12 separate dishes between 6 Diners. Each plate has an individual taste and was delicious and innovative. Service was attentive, friendly and professional."
    dined on 16/08/2014
  • "The quality of the food we had was excellent (samosa chat, kebab platter, naan, rajmah masala, black dal)! We probably ordered too much and the quantity of food on the platters didn't make finishing it all easy. Good value overall too although would say that the starters / drinks are probably a shade overpriced even though of very good quality. Service right through was excellent. Def coming back for more!"

  • "My wife and I went for an early evening meal and the place was already very busy - always a good sign. We were led to the basement level (referred to as the VIP room) and were the only ones there! But soon the basement was full too and buzzy. We had initially opted for the special offer but had the option to go a la carte which is what we did and were glad for it. We made better choices and the bill worked out to be the same. The food (with a focus on street/dhaba food) was excellent and very authentic - which coming from me is a huge complement! The waiter attending us added to an excellent meal - he was very friendly and efficient and nothing was too much bother. Will definitely go back and try the other dishes!"

  • "Divine indian modern food, great service, they brought a surprise b day cake without even knowing it was a birthday meal. Great sag paneer, great Nan bread great everything."
    dined on 02/08/2014
  • "Not a Bangladesh restaurant but Indian with Mumbai influence. We are visiting from San Francisco and randomly picked Imle St. We were extremely pleased with the ambience, service, prices and the food, of course, served in smaller portions so that we could order more dishes for variety. We shall return. Also took some business cards for friends."
    dined on 26/07/2014
  • "Superb Indian food but service a little rushed - all the food is cooked as soon as it is ordered and served too quickly - kitchen need to sort themselves out as this is just poor management!! Lovely waiting staff...."
    dined on 26/07/2014
  • "We were a group of 5 and all enjoyed Imli Street a lot. The concept is better than the food - with a large group you can justify having most dishes on the menu and side dishes, so there is plenty of variety. Everything came quickly, and it was a visual treat to have a table groaning with food to share amongst the party. The food is not brilliant, but it is tasty enough, the CTM worth a particular mention. It was kind of a banquet of Indian comfort food, with a very buzzy atmosphere. We had a very helpful, friendly and attentive waiter for most of the meal, but unfortunately towards the end he seemed to have disappeared and the service became a lot slower. But overall would dine again."

  • "This is the second time i visited there in 4 weeks or so the service is amazing and the foods excellent too. The staff are friendly and cater to your needs well. I ll be back again soon"
    dined on 26/07/2014
  • "I've been before and wanted an informal quick indian. The street food concept is a bit overdone - the portion sizes are reduced for 'street food' yet the prices stay similar to a regular indian meal. I had two veggie companions who normally really like going to Indians but they found themselves really struggling to find enough variety of 'main' courses (there is one) and so had to resort to just eating a large side dish each. My main - the naan pie - was ok but not really as described. Think I'll look for a non-'street' based indian restaurant next time...."
    dined on 23/07/2014
  • "Mixed bag really. Halloumi was good, but the lentil soup was terrible. Was clear that was mixed with a lot of water. Runny and tasteless. Lamb dish had barely any lamb, mostly all vegetables. Unfortunately, I will not be ordering from here again"
    dined on 15/07/2014
  • "Being an Indian myself I will definitely recommend this restaurants to others. The food was very good with perfect ambiance. Would love to go there."

  • "Great food, lots of choice, great service and great atmosphere"

  • "I've been wanting to go to Imli Street for months. It didn't disappoint. We ordered lots of little dishes which were all very tasty. It's a different way to eat Indian food and have a bit of everything."
    dined on 08/07/2014
  • "Had some concerns about booking this restaurant because of the Trip Advisor reviews...but it turned out to be a great choice for us. They have a concept of Indian tapas based upon various types of "street food" and it works well. Lots of small---and not so small---dishes to share, all of which had wonderful favor. There were familiar dishes (chicken tikka masala, saag paneer) and others we had never had (potato patties with a fantastic chickpea curry as one of our starters). Chicken biryani was spicy and quite good & the naan chewy & warm. The wine list was fine & the Malbec I had went well with all the dishes. Service was fast (helpful as this was pre-theater) and friendly. In conclusion, we loved it and look forward to returning."

  • "I had a special guest from USA who is a foodie, and also happened to have spent over 3 months in India, hence knowing Indian cuisine very well. We were pleasantly surprised by authenticity of tastes, yet by that modern and innovative approach towards that unique cuisine, which was relevant to our specific meeting, and could have been well appropriate for a bigger occasion. We asked a lady waitress to recommend us something, and all three dishes she vouched for were of an outstanding quality. I will definitely go back again, especially to try something different, and share a quiet atmosphere with my family or / and friends."

  • "This wasn't our first choice for the evening but we needn't have worried. The service was great: attentive, friendly but not excessive. The choice and quality of the food was impressive. We particularly enjoyed the railway lamb. This is an Indian with a twist and it works brilliantly. We'll definitely be back."

  • "We were greeted at the door with a big welcome inch smile. The Manager took us to our table and gave us a chose , which was great. Our server was outstandingly attentive but not over bearing. The food was great ."

  • "I didnt know what to expect. Ive eaten at their rivals dishoom before. Walked in. Got a warm friendly welcome. The food was really nice. The starters i got waa the samosa chaat and papdi chaat abd both where brilliant. The mains i got was the naan pie which sounded intresting and it was actually really nice. Desserts again could not be faulted. Amazing service too. Only feed back being to add maybe few more vege options. Ie vege curry or even make a naam pie for veges too. I ll 100% definatly be back again"
    dined on 05/07/2014
  • "We got there Friday evening and was a bit empty which is unusual for Soho but it filled soon. Good decor and very friendly service. They explain dishes well, took the starter order and left us with the menu to choose the main later. No push to choose everything at the same time like in most Asian restaurants. Food was good, different take on some Indian dishes, good value all around. Will be back."
    dined on 04/07/2014
  • "For those not familiar with the Indian cuisine, Imli Street is an excellent initiation... You shall be helped in your course selection by expert (and young) service people, the final result being higher than your expectations! Good selection of wines at reasonable price."
    dined on 30/06/2014
  • "We went for the special which allowed us to sample 3 starters, 3 mains and two desserts - very good value. The food was excellent - authentic Indian food completely different to a traditional British Indian. Loved the Puchka, terrific tilapia, even the bhaji was much better than usual. Rounded off by great service (by an Italian!) we need to come to this place again - so much to try!"
    dined on 28/06/2014
  • "Great ambience and fantastic service but need to improve the menu to cater vegetarian options, Just panner tikka or veg naan pie is not sufficient!!"
    dined on 27/06/2014
  • "Absolutely loved the restaurant, our 4th visit. Cannot complain about the food at all, loved every single thing we had. Highlights were the papdi chaat, chicken 63, cheesy naan bread."
    dined on 20/06/2014
  • "Starters were good, as were some of the desserts. I would go back, but I do think there are better indian restaurants in London. However the main course was weak in quality and authenticity."
    dined on 18/06/2014
  • "Attended on a Saturday evening for 9 year old daughter birthday. A very picky young lady indeed when it comes to food and SHE LOVED IT. So thumbs up all round, good food, EXCELLENT SERVICE and refreshing background music. All in all had a great time. Desserts to die for too! Thank you Imli Street to adding goodness to her special day!"
    dined on 14/06/2014
  • "Food was great as was service. We're able to let us know immediately what was gluten free for our guest. Excellent. The only slight issue was that despite being above average height I was still dangling my legs uncomfortably because of the high seat. Needs the foot rest to be higher to be comfortable."
    dined on 06/06/2014
  • "good for first time experience but not a very varied menu ... difficult to find something suitable"
    dined on 06/06/2014
  • "My husband and I went to this restaurant for pre-theatre dinner and drinks despite some of the reviews and were very glad we did. Loved the decor and layout. Marco, our waiter was professional and friendly (as were all of the staff we chatted to). Cocktails were lovely and the food interesting and, we thought, fun and tasty (aubergine dish especially delightful). Would gladly visit again!"
    dined on 05/06/2014
  • "Food & service were excellent as were cocktails! The indian food was far superior to the average Indian restaurant."
    dined on 31/05/2014
  • "Very efficient, friendly and helpful service. Great atmosphere. Delicious food. We were three work friends catching up and we had a great time sharing all the dishes. Two of us do not eat meat so that ruled out the opentable offer, which was not great value anyway. Nonetheless the bill came out just over £30 each including a bottle of decent wine between us so that seemed reasonable value. Good fish dishes and fish curry recommended as well as king prawns. Not a lot of options if you eat neither meat or fish. The complimentary bottles of chilled water were really appreciated as most restaurants charge a premium on these. A lovely evening."
    dined on 28/05/2014
  • "The food was really excellent and much more than we could eat even though it appeared small. More green vegetables instead of ubiquitous chickpeas would have been welcome. The noise for the drunken people at the table at the end of the room spoilt the evening and the waiters didn't do anything about it."
    dined on 23/05/2014
  • "Great food, good service. Interesting good. What's not to like!"
    dined on 17/05/2014
  • "I took a group of 12 for a friend's birthday to Imli Street on a Thursday evening. The booking process was very straightforward and when I needed to make a change, the restaurant responded quickly. The service was excellent and the waiters took time to explain the menu to us and help us with our choices. We found the menu a bit confusing but I expect some people are more adventurous than us! We had a few people in our group who weren't drinking and I think they were pleased with the choice of non-alcoholic drinks. The restaurant was full and therefore quite noisy but we had plenty of space."
    dined on 15/05/2014
  • "Really interesting and tasty dishes that put a new spin on Indian food for me. The restaturant was cool - informal and buzzing in a typical Soho way, but the service let it down. Apparently (despite there being several free waiting staff) we had to wait for a manager to seat us. We ended up pointing to our name on the list and telling the waiter the table we had been assigned, at which point he agreed to take us there. We waited for ages for drinks orders to be taken and then when the beers arrived we were asked if we wanted them "with or without foam"??? Service was generally slow and quite inattentive which slightly spoiled what was a delicious meal. I would go back if I knew they had trained the staff properly!"

  • "Fantastic food and atmosphere with very very good service. We had a pre-theatre meal from the A la carte menu. Would highly recommend and are planning a another trip to try the weekend brunch."
